Guest Reviews
- Krystal (1/5): -
- Asier (1/5): The money paid was not worth it. - The bathrooms were a bit far away from the property.
The photos shown on booking were not the reality.
Some kitchen stuff were dirty.
- Bronwyn (8/5): Will stay again for sure, absolutely loved it. An earlier check in would be better! - The design of treehouse #4 and how private and quiet it was Location, internal design and the proximity other things
- Kane (7/5): -
- Lisa (1/5): -
- Kerry (9/5): Unique stay on 3 levels, very quiet, relaxing and enjoyed the wildlife. - Very unique being on three levels, good distance from other tree houses. Peaceful. Could see the Gold Coast lights in the distance of a night. Wildlife around. The pully system was not operational to take things up to or down from the 2nd or 3rd level for the spiral staircase.
- Anne (10/5): It was very peaceful and comfortable. And a good spot to explore the area. - The setting is wonderful, amongst tall trees.
And the infinity pool was such a bonus.
I also loved the peacocks, geese, chickens and the very polite dog that visited us a number of times in the day.
- Frederick (9/5): Very nice location and favilities - The location is excellent. Great view of the forests and mountains with Surfers Paradise in the distance. Loved the animals and free animal food provided. The hot tub was great. Also good barbeque and lots of space. The layout of the barn was interesting. The kitchen is in one of the rooms, as is the shower, while there is a separate toilet in the other room. Not too bad, but could probably have been done differently. The check in process was a pain. You have to upload photos of credit cards and driving lisense numerous times and only get the check in details (lock box code etc) just before check-in. This is frustrating as you often come from the park where signal is bad. Also there is not a sign indicating which building you are in. The email says first building on the left, but it is actually the second building on the left.
- Tanna (2/5): Very disappointed! - Update to owners' response to my review. We did not locate hot tub, and it is pretty common knowledge and being a hot tub owner that you have to remove and replace lid. I am not a disgruntled person but just stating facts. Again, beware of staying here!
Desperately needs a deep cleaning, around toilet, shower vent, kitchen chairs all were gross! No shower product, empty bottles and needs new towels. No one on site to assist with directions or hot tub location. Refused to refund hot tub fees because the hot tub was set up, how it cost $100 to take the top off and put back on is insane, and we couldn't even find the hot tub! The worst place to stay out of our 14-day vacation, Don't waist your money on the Bush House!
- Mills (10/5): Our stay was all about relaxing and enjoying ourselves and being around more nature away from the city life - I liked the nature and scenery and quietness, the cabin but modern still feeling of the houses Can’t say there’s anything I didn’t like
- Kate (10/5): absolutely unique property set in the most beautiful landscape. Wished I could have stayed longer -
- Judy (4/5): -
- Lauren (6/5): - The location is amazing! There are cute animals on site. The large windows flood the space with natural light, and give great views.
The bed was very comfortable, generous lounge space, the bath in Treehouse 2 was worth it! And the twin showers in the downstairs bathroom were perfect so we could both have our own temperature 😊 The vibe here leans more toward a rustic bush airbnb than elegant accommodation. We found the finishing touches a bit mismatched—the towels were a random assortment and scratchy, and the robes looked like they’d been on display for a while (also scratchy/old and mismatched).
The kitchen is compact (definitely a one-chef situation) with the basics: kettle, toaster, and a two-burner gas stove. Just note that if you're planning cereal or muesli, you'll be eating from bright plastic bowls, we also didn't have regular wine glasses so ended up using mugs (the purple cups provided didn't quite fit the romantic mood). It is totally functional, but a different vibe than what we expected for the price point.
There are laminated instruction signs throughout the house which are helpful, but they do give it a bit of a "rented cabin" feel rather than a couple's suite.
- Marcu Nikandrou (3/5): Go somewhere else - Horrible experiences all, No aircon, hot like an oven,, No aircon, the most unwelcoming and inhospitable host I ever encounter in my whole life,
I travel in all continents of the world (not Antartica), worst experience ever
- Renai (1/5): - I booked off my phone. The photos do not represent what we book. Container house in middle of water tanks. Nothing like we thought it would be. Very disappointed.
- Taylor (9/5): -
- Charmaine (4/5): The website is misleading, the property although quirky was not practical. Would not recommend - There was a great coffee shops close by a little over priced, but quirky The photos on the website were not accurate to the tree house we stayed in
And the information was misleading
There were two toilets not bathrooms!
Very tight on space
- Harry (3/5): Very disappointing, especially as there are so many better options in the region such as Binna Burra - The accomodation was freezing cold, our kids woke up a number of times from being cold despite being dressed in two layers of jumpers.
In addition, the staff were really rude and would also swear at their children in front of guests.
- Lee (8/5): Country escape near city location - Tranquility serenity peace also the animals were cool Being able to turn the bathroom lights out
- Kerrie (4/5): Spa experience definitely not recommended. Waste of money. Good location for Soringbrook trails. - Tree House was good. Clean. Hot in summer months with no ceiling fans or AC. Spa experience for an additional $100. Advertised as having views over Gold Coast skyline. Couldn’t see anything except overgrown plants. See photos. Spa cover wasn’t even removed for the $100 for 1 hour…
- Naomi (7/5): Lovely location - couldn’t fault it , besides no air con. - Great location, off grid. To be able to spend quality time together. The views were incredible. The pool was fresh and clean and the feel of the place was lovely. The bonus of animals was amazing. No aircon was a big let down, made the night very uncomfortable.
- Fiona (10/5): -
- Laura Litherland (10/5): - The magical atmosphere it wasn't boring the pool and spa were amazing! That we had to leave
- Kylie (9/5): - The bush cabin was large and comfortable in a great location
- Lisa (7/5): Very unique eclectic property with the most amazing views. - Amazing location. Unique / eclectic. Kitchen facilities not super clean. No oven. Very few power points. Fridge in poor condition - no shelves in the door.
- Emily (6/5): Tree house - The location and uniqueness Noisy in the morning we were woken up each day by a rooster around 330am and the owners of the property were rude. They failed to advertise that if you use a visa debit card instead of a $500 deposit you would be required to pay $1,000
- Heidi (8/5): -
- Chris (5/5): Place was alright, other options in furnishings and fit out could make it nicer. - Location. Atmosphere. Bath Rock Hard bed.
Coffee supplied was unusable due to it being melted/clumped together.
Sensor lights in downstairs bathroom stayed on.
- Carolina (1/5): Was a very bad experience will never be recommending this to anyone - Nothing to like about it
The manager was very rude and unprofessional False advertising
The price is ridiculous wanted to charge me 100 per hr to use the spa
I booked and made sure was air com in the description but wasn’t air con in there
- Rohit (3/5): - Good Location, easy to find. Extremely poor value. Falsely advertised. Wish i’d checked other reviews before booking this place
- Jed (8/5): Grouse as - Location was great Peacocks did like to make a lot of noise but not the end of the world
- Sasha K (1/5): Worst booking and host experience of my life. - Everything. Lots of paperwork to sign. Payment in advance of stay. Excessive safety deposit. Expensive cancellation fees. The site is in the middle of nowhere. Hard to find. No manager on site. Remote, rude and non-empathetic host. Host is not picking up his phone. Misleading listing with misleading photos. I thought I booked a tree house according to listing on my mobile app showing only treehouses, but when I got there I was given an old container. After allocated accomodation didn't meet our expectations or safety standards, the host tried to upsell me the tree house accomodation I thought I initially booked and paid for. Due to high upsell cost, high safety deposit, no manager on site and no guarantee of access to property, I requested a cancellation of booking instead. Host refused to accept my cancellation and kept the full payment! Appalling! Booking.com Customer Service was not helpful, kept referring me to the rude host and at did nothing to resolve my issue. My 13yo son was traumatised by the experience. We left the site and didn't end up staying there. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway with my son caused us both immense stress and financial loss.
- Geraghty (4/5): -
- Uta (8/5): - Die sehr schöne Lage
- Stacey (10/5): -
- James (10/5): Was an absolutely amazing night wish we spent more time there - The amenities and use of space Nothing
- Craig (7/5): - Nice location and surroundings The container accommodation didn't have aircon. That could have been clearer in the listing. It does get hot during the day.
- Shannon (10/5): -
- Jackie (10/5): Was very out off the way.need to tell customers must bring a 4WD - Quiet and the beautiful animals. Couldn’t speak to the owner or staff
We drove 4 hrs away and got lost on the way. Contacted owner no answer had to email and he emailed 20 mins later.
- The Panda 2.0 (3/5): High expectations, the basics left wanting. - Loves the animals, the views and the treehouse vibe. Sleeping on concrete beds. I don't think I've every slept on such an uncomfortable bed.
Everything was dusty and nothing was clean. Particularly the kitchen, everything has to be cleaned before you use them.
No map or instructions provided. Two other guests knocked on our door because they had no idea where they were staying or how to get their code.
The onerous security check in post booking through booking.com. I didn't feel comfortable giving my Cc number, expiry, cvs. Uploading front and back drivers licence and taking a selfie. Plus $500 security deposit >> all after you've already paid and booked...
I really didnt like reading the owners negative and sometimes rude responses to any constructive feedback on the reviews. If you're charging 450 a night invest in some good beds and bedding. Listen to your customers!!!
- Caylie (7/5): Lovely location and clean facilities with comfy beds and the wonderful peacocks! - It was adequate for our needs, clean, nice views and the best part was the peacocks and the food they left us to feed them! All good… We were only there for 16 hours and didn’t make full use of the property
- Leoni (10/5): -
- Aleem (9/5): Beautiful location and property and will surely go back. - Fabulous location and unique property. Dog on the property who was a menace to other animals.
- Aymon (10/5): Stunning, tranquil, beautiful location excellent design and care taken to make this property a perfect place - Absolutely beautiful location we enjoyed a lovely tranquil stay in nature, couldn’t be happier with this property and will definitely look to stay again! Staff help were above and beyond 👌
- Sean (1/5): - Staff weren’t helpful friendly or considerate. Won’t be coming back.
- Dakoda (8/5): -
- Sebastien (9/5): Endroit magique et reposant proche de golf coast et du lamington park - L’emplacement Trop administratif pour la réservation ( passeport, caution….) code d’accès
- Daniel (1/5): - Leaving Unfortunately, our experience with Gold Coast Tree Houses was disappointing from the very beginning. The booking process felt unnecessarily tedious — we were required to provide so much information that it felt like applying for a visa.
After paying over $300 for just one night’s stay, we were informed we would also need to pay a $1,000 deposit for that single night.
Upon arrival, we discovered the property was nothing like the photos advertised. It appeared to be a makeshift arrangement on private property, with scattered shipping containers and huts. There was no staff member on site to greet or guide us — instead, we were left to follow a series of condescending signs to locate our accommodation.
We stayed in a shipping container which, both inside and out, looked exactly like what it was — a shipping container. Very little effort had been made to create a welcoming environment. Outdoor seating was covered in leaves, and inside, the container had clearly been neglected for years. There were mouse droppings on the floor, cobwebs in corners, and general grime throughout. All pots and cooking utensils had to be washed by guests before use, and we were also required to take out the rubbish ourselves or risk a charge. Even the cooking utensils provided still had food residue on them.
While there was a small log burner, management made it clear they would not supply wood. I was told via text to purchase my own from a petrol station. The wood available for purchase was too large to fit, and no tools were provided to cut it down.
The pool was located directly next to the owner’s house, leaving guests in full view at all times. The spa, we discovered, came at an extra cost of $100 per hour.
Had I read through all 50 pages of terms and conditions prior to booking, perhaps I would have been aware of these practices — though I suspect the blame for any dissatisfaction would still be placed entirely on the guest.
- Jess (8/5): -
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property with amazing views
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (1/5): Bad -
- Kimberley (4/5): Not worth the money - Kitchen if you could call it a kitchen. It was way too small no appliances, gas top only. whoever did the photos for it did an amazing job made it seem way bigger than actually was not enough room for four people to sit down in the lounge room comfortably and relax. No fine no heating no nothing to keep warm in winter. shower doesn’t drain properly so it wets the whole floor even around the toilet near the sink and everything.
- Yapa (1/5): Bad -
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Keys (9/5): Very relaxing, stunning scenery and friendly animals to feed. - Stunning location, very relaxing and quirky.
No heating in June was not great, but warm bedding resulted in a good sleep. No heating.
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - Opportunity to have a fire. Whilst we knew it was an outdoor toilet we didn’t realise it was 50 metres up a dirt track to get there. There were branches over the front porch when we arrived and if you used the kitchen and didn’t wash up everything and put it away they would charge an extra cleaning fee.
- Lina (9/5): Superb -
- Fengjing (10/5): It’s wonderful to stay hear - The house is well insulated and our loud noise does not disturb others
Many animals nearby No microwave makes it not easy to heat food
- Wilson (10/5): Amazing - Relaxed atmosphere, stunning views, baby goats 🐐 and alpacas, Panchos, Gold Coast's original and best Mexican restaurant, only 3 kilometres away. This is definitely a must see. Only staying two nights
- Paula (10/5): Wonderful highly recommend - Scenic and peaceful
- Connor (5/5): Perfect weekend getaway, but don’t plan on going anywhere if you can’t drive home - The view was great and the animals were great to interact with along with the check in process Not the easiest place to get too and I’d recommend maybe saying there’s little to no phone service and Ubers/cabs can’t get to the property. The $1000 security deposit is probably a bit much as well
- Charlotte (10/5): Amazing - The whole place was fantastic. I’d been there before & stayed in the 1bdrm container down the back. So the tree house was a spectacular stay. Although raining we couldn’t see the views of the GC however that didn’t dampen our spirits.
We woke up the next morning & the views were amazing. Definitely be back again. Thankyou GCTH
- Tracey (5/5): Passable - Setting and location. It was not clean inside or outside. The grass was long around the outside fire pit. There was no implements to cut the wood for the fire, inside or out. The pool was dirty. The spa was being used by the children, family staying in the house. The community areas was not clearly defined and used by the family on site.
- Victoria (7/5): Good -
- Aayushi (1/5): horrible! - the location was great The staff is rude. came unannounced and behaved in a very rude manner. Did not know how to treat guests.
A $500 deposit for just 1 night that too for such a property, seems too much!
which was not refunded and on top of that deducted more than $250 from my account without my authorisation.
Please don't visit.
Or if you do visit, make sure you abide by ALL the goddamn rules, as they will come and bash you even for a small inconvenience.
or maybe they are just racist.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Gleeson (8/5): We lived the uniqueness of the accommodation & the location, being right up on top of the mountain range but close e - The location, personal outdoor hot tub and the conversion from shed How easily dirty the inside wad after being outside
- Tash (8/5): Very good - We were a lil disappointed there was no bath in tree house #3. The preview photos of the treehouses showed a bath. There was an amazing double rain shower.
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning and peaceful location
Dog greeted me home each day
Cool mountain forest breezes
Sustainable living at it’s most luxurious
- Tamaryn (9/5): Lovely stay- so relaxing and just what I needed. Would recommend. - The views were stunning. I didn’t know I would get a view of the mountains as well as the city. I loved all the animals- we were even given food to feed them with. Spa was lovely to lay in at night and watch the stars. Connection wasn’t great- unable to access Netflix.
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Gregory (10/5): Quite, peaceful and relaxing - Was Awesome. A great weekend away in a very peaceful space.
- Radha (6/5): Disappointing - Quiet stay, feeding of farm animals was great. Guests are charged which is disappointing.
No microwave or oven.
- Michiala (8/5): Nice, relaxing and peaceful. - Beautiful bush views with stunning Gold Coast in the background. Beds were a little firm for our liking but the views made up for it.
- Machans007 (10/5): Exceptional - The Ambience.
The Tree House was amazing!!!
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Bethan (10/5): Best Getaway on the Gold Coast - My family and I were on holiday and wanting to do multiple Springbrook National Park hikes. This accomodation allowed us to be close to the walks, and experience a reprieve from the city by having a getaway in the bush. We stayed in the Tree Houses and just wow!!! Loved the rustic nature, we had the most beautiful view of the sunrise and sunset from our balcony. The BBQ on the third floor was a nice touch we BBQ'd and played card games all evening. Then in the morning got to pop down and feed the animals. Even though we are so close to the city in terms of driving, it felt like such a nice escape. It had everything we needed as well!
Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a getaway, or to use it as a base for Springbrook walking tracks. Nothing!
- Samantha (9/5): Relaxing. Just what we needed. - Perfect quiet location. Loved the treehouse and the resident farm animals The check in process was really complicated. It required a lot of details and access to $1000 security deposit as we do not have a credit card.
Pool area seemed to be on main house and entry was not clear… felt a bit awkward
- Charne (3/5): If you wanne charge hotel prices. There is a minimum of expectancy! - On arrival all windows was closed all three houses smelled musky and dusty like no ones been in there one of my friends had allergy attack when in them. The shed bedroom and bathroom had cobwebs and dust everywhere. They have signs above sink that guest need to wash all dishes and take out bins when leaving for next guests arriving and threat have to add fee if not done when the are asking high quality prices for these houses i rented three houses and every one of them the dishes was dirty because expecting people leaving to wash it properly for the next guests arriving is absolutely ridiculous. Asking hotel prices but want to add service fee to do basic cleaning. The place also didn’t look like the photos outside. Was not a bad stay overall was just let down by the high price that i paid but the quality and service was no where compared to the $2500 i paid for 2 three houses and the shed for two nights
- Tina (8/5): Peaceful, kids loved the animals. - Peaceful area and comfortable accomodation Thought we were staying in a treehouse, but discovered after booking that we were in a different building, not a treehouse.
- Lauren (10/5): Unique, stunnning and heart-warming accomodation - We had a wonderful stay in Treehouse 1. I was completely obsessed with the decor and especially the stone bath on the third level. The animals were such a special touch for a nature lover like ourselves. I can’t wait to bring my kids soon. Highly recommend over anywhere else I’ve stayed on the Gold Coast!
- Rosemarie (8/5): Breathtaking views with early morning spectacular sightings! - Difficult to find in the dark and long way around if bridge is out due to pouring rain. But all in all with harrowing driving experience, we loved the treehouse setup for comfort and privacy. Such a neat overnight that we are all glad we experienced!
- Mallika (3/5): Weird. - The view. Too hot, weird lay out, terrible internet (not worth trying)
- Elen (7/5): Unique stay - The tree house was a unique stay, and the animals were a nice addition. The tree house was equipped adequately for a short stay. The pool was dirty and unusable. Lots of information available in the tree house what to clean and what you must do in that regards but no site map or information where you can or cannot go. Walking tracks not maintained and hard navigate. The self check in was ok, but the deposit seems excessive, and the time money was returned too long. Might be a good idea to inform at the time of booking that an additional $500 is required as a deposit.
- Gonzalo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craggs (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location, set up in tree house 3, animal feed refilled in the house. Understandable but it is an extremely extensive process to book your stay, especially the self check in.
I personally don't agree with the 500 dollar security "hold" that does get removed from my account. Still awaiting the refund and will update once received.
- Raph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cleo (8/5): peaceful and relaxing - beautiful location and very nice set up the spiders and bugs were a bit of a shock but we got used to them eventually. the bbq had a broken back burner but other then that everything was pretty good!
- Eddie (1/5): Bad -
- Jason (1/5): Unpleasant. I didn’t end up staying - Very underwhelming as it did not align with expectations as outlined in the website. I can not and will not recommend the cabin, which is a shipping container How no onsite manager and cameras everywhere with dogs roaming freely.
Also property description didn’t match what it was really like.
- Kaushalya (1/5): Worst place to go and please don’t pay the deposit. Owner will make an excuse and will charge you money. - Nothing . All misleading photos used to impress but the facility is nothing like as shown.
Dirty and disgusting.
Bed linen was dusty and smells. All common areas were full of animal poo.
So dirty .
Rooms were clean but bed linen were dusty and smelly. Insects everywhere inside .
Fans are too slow and not working.
Too hot as this is a container house .
Surroundings are not what they used in pictures.
Management is horrible.
They are too abrupt and not responsive.
Then blame you and use their powers.
When we raised that to the management, they made a fake allegation and charged my bond and extra $140 without my permission from my bank account.
- Phoebe (8/5): Lovely views from the pool area. Assigned parking. No air conditioners in the bedroom. - Pool area was lovely especially at sunset. Great views to the Gold Coast. No airconditioners in the bedroom. Would probably be alright in the cooler months but was a struggle in the Summer.
- Neeraj (1/5): Absolutely terrible - No cooling system Kitchenware not good
- Cherryl (4/5): Not pleasant since there was heatwave then. There was no ac in the Treehouse 4. - Treehouse 4 was clean. It was easy to communicate with the owner. The shed was filthy. It smells like an old house. We found a gecko under the sofa.
- Angela (6/5): Pleasant - Beautiful view and beautiful farm stay The spiders, they were massive
- Pullen (9/5): Our family of four loved our stay in the tree house. Fun, quirky, eco, functional and comfortable! Highly recommend! - We loved Treehouse #4 for our family of 4. It was so quirky and with beautiful outlook onto the trees to the west. The BBQ on the rooftop was a great way to cook meals. It was a shame it rain though as we could t eat outside on the rooftop. The kids got good at walking gently on the spiral staircase so as not to shake the whole building. It was fun and we loved feeding the alpacas and peacocks. We went for great bush walks to waterfalls in the Springbrook National Park. The open rooftop meant we couldn’t eat in the rain. Would be great if it had a cover.
- Stephanie (5/5): Quiet and hot with fabulous views - Beautiful views, quiet and clean accommodation. With lovely animals to feed. Loved that they let you feed the animals. No fans in the building. Supplied makita fans that worked however battery did not last the night.
Needed some maintenance. Shower flooded the bathroom due to poor drainage and the shower head shot out completely sideways. Very limited power points. (None in bedroom just a usb socket in the wall)
