Guest Reviews
- Kay (10/5): Our stay at the Sarah - Excellent place to stay if you need to be in walking distance to St Vincents Hospital and some great eating places close by. The lift is certainly a bonus. The rooms have all you need for a short stay. Would definitely book again.
- Darren (10/5): Great location. Tidy modern and easy access highly recommend - Great location

- Debra (10/5): Convenient, comfortable well fitted room, close to everything. - The proximity to the hospital and cafes. It was quiet in the room, we were able to rest well.

- Lisa (10/5): Had an exceptional, comfortable stay, location was perfect! - Had a wonderful stay! Location was perfect, it was clean, tidy everything we needed.
- Steven (4/5): Great location, but..... - Great location in Darlinghurst. Very poor acoustic separation. Could hear the entry door in the neighbouring room being opened and closed repeatedly, well into the night. I suspect there was multiple visitors to my neighbour.
No staff present. All access is via code which is emailed to you. I suspect the room next to me was being used as a virtual brothel as this zero staff business model would enable this with no questions asked.

- Jenkins (8/5): Simple and easy stay, no fuss. Easy of access to St Vincents - Hi speed wifi. Ease of access. Having a elevator was in particular the reason we booked. My partner is in a wheelchair so the distance to the St Vincents hospital and the elevator made her experience good. As I mentioned wheelchair access. The elevator initially wasn't working when we got there but we managed to reset it by going to the rooftop first. The hallways are manageable but larger electric wheelchairs would struggle and better off on the ground floor. My partner was very happy with the bed and her electric wheel chair was able to get in and out of the room but was tight. If there are rooms with larger area or easier access would be preferable

- Emily (8/5): Convenient and stylish crash pad for a solo traveller - Convenient location, access was great and the room was well thought out. The floor seemed to be quite slippery, as though it was cleaned with the wrong product. The lack of towel rack or hooks wasn’t ideal but not anything to stress about.
- daney huang (7/5): -

- Ellen (2/5): Avoid The Sarah. Dirty and disappointing. - The location is amazing. I would not recommend staying here. Our room was incredibly dusty and the curtains were absolutely filthy and clearly had not been washed in years. An alarm was going off on the fire panel for over 24 hours which could be heard from our room.
Additionally, I had a sentimental pair of earrings go missing from our room during our stay. I messaged the staff immediately and asked them to at least speak with the housekeeping staff to see if they were accidentally swept into laundry. They never even bothered replying to me.
The location is great but I would avoid staying here. We were left very disappointed.
- Amanda (9/5): Very happy with our room away from home. - Great layout and design
- Holly (10/5): Great stay! Amazing location - Amazing!! Clean. Everything you need for a couple nights away. Nothing
- IAN (9/5): - Quiet, clean and convenient to St Vincent’s hospital Issues with chromecast not connecting, but this was resolved after contacting support

- Sean (8/5): -
- Georgina (7/5): - The ease of checking in and out. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom door!!! I really did not like that you had to press a button every time to access the bathroom. I also didn’t like how open the shower was and water got everywhere.
- Jacob (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Great location and was clean and tidy. - Breakfast not offered. Great location next to St. Vincent’s hospital where my husband stayed
- Marcin (10/5): -

- Kathryn (8/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Enjoyable - The lift Located near hospital
- Helen (9/5): We stayed for 5 nights. It is a very small space but well planned and comfortable. Location is excellent, a ten-minute w - Location is excellent. Not enough hanging space. Don’t hooks placed strategically around the room would be really helpful.
- Oscar (7/5): -
- Freeman (5/5): Beautiful hotel but just can’t be seared to help - The rooms are brilliant and comfortable
And You can’t fault them ! The PR of the property let it down. I asked for a midday /early check in as I was having surgery the next day. I was told no as the room was occupied prior so stuck with the 3pm. On the way out the next day I spoke with house keeping who were cleaning the foyer, they advised the room would have been ready by 1130 at the earliest ! So really my response was a general can’t be arsed !
- Kevin (9/5): - The location was great.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Room very small but compact
Presented well No bulb 💡 in 2nd lamp
Hard to avoid toilet smells as doi by bedhead
- Wenxing (8/5): Good value and great location - It’d be amazing if there was a microwave or water tap somewhere
- Kelly (7/5): Great location, styled beautifully, small but comfortable. Small but frustrating issues with amenities and service. - Fabulous location - perfect for accessing restaurants, shops, public transport, nightlife and the Moore Park entertainment precinct. The hotel is styled beautifully, the bed is comfortable and it felt clean. The rooms are small but designed well and it’s perfect for a night or two if you’re travelling light. The bedside lamp was missing a bulb and the shampoo dispenser was either empty or broken. Minor issues but annoying, especially after soaking my hair ready to wash!
There’s no reception, which is fine as long as there is remote support available. Upon checking in, I received what I thought was a helpful text message with a link to a live chat in case I needed assistance. I actually did try to use it (to see if they had shampoo somewhere!) and received an automated message - “Sorry – our team’s offline at the moment. Don’t worry, we’ve set up a case: 00551409. You can use this if needs be.” I gave up and didn’t hear anything further.
- Rhiannon (6/5): - Looks beautiful is super clean, comfortable bed Function is average with no hanging space for long dresses and getting ready was difficult with the sink/kitchen/dresser all combined into one section of the room
- Ashley (9/5): -
- Narelle (10/5): - Every thing was beautiful
- Larry (8/5): Handy location, comfortable room for a short stay. - Great location, close to St Vincent’s Hospital A very cosy room. Suitable for a solo visitor, it would be small for two people or a longer visit.
- Stacie (9/5): Would recommend - Great location! Within walking distance of kings cross and kings cross station. Had everything that we needed for a two night stay. Bed was comfy and plenty of space for a couple of nights. Being able to open the doors for fresh air was amazing! Easy access to the building and the apartment. Nothing major, the place was great! Just two things to make it a perfect stay - The sensor light in the shower/toilet didn’t stay on very long, would turn off everything 30seconds when showering / on the toilet leaving you completely in the dark. Would have been great to have Netflix :)
- Mariana (1/5): - The room looks nothing like the photos online — it’s extremely tiny, doesn’t even have a window, and there’s no space for luggage. There isn’t even a chair or bedside table, so everything ends up on the floor, including your phone at night.
The bathroom is even worse. The sink is so small you can’t place anything on it, and every splash ends up on the floor. The toilet floods after every shower, and we also had a leaking toilet that was never fixed, even after reporting it. Everything is done online with zero real assistance, and even the cleaners said they don’t know anything.
The bed is tiny, uncomfortable, and makes noise all night. On top of that, the walls and floors are so thin that you can hear people walking at night, and if you stay on the ground floor you can hear every step from the room above you. Sleeping becomes almost impossible.
No water in the fridge, no basic amenities, and they still charge a $200 hold for nothing. When you contact the property, they apologise but don’t fix anything and don’t offer a refund.
Please read all the reviews before booking — I wish we had. I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
- Claire (7/5): Convenient Location, Clean Simple Space - Really clean, really convenient location for walking around Sydney, could walk to the opera house from there easily. Really good price and design was nice. The way the hotel is ran means you don’t see any staff whatsoever. We never once saw another soul for the two days we stayed. The reception area seemed to have a bar that was curtained off and stayed this way the whole time which was bizarre. The bed felt incredibly small and quite uncomfortable, and the doors throughout the building were so loud we were woken up by our neighbours quite a few times (not their fault) with the doors slamming.
- Brendan (8/5): - Ease of booking and access Nil
- Moritz (2/5): Mold and no reaction from staff - Comfy beds
Good location We were really disappointed with our stay. The curtains in our room were covered with mold right next to the bed — a serious health concern and far below basic hygiene standards. We informed the hotel immediately and were told someone would come to fix it, but no one ever did.
We ended up sleeping next to visible mold for several nights, and even after leaving, we’ve sent multiple emails with no response at all. Really unfortunate, as we expected a much higher level of care and professionalism from a place like this
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Great location - spacious apartment - good value - Spacioius apartment
Great location Some street noise
Vague smell of smoking in room
- Yumin (10/5): - Everything was good! There’s a leakage of water… from bathroom to my bed every time I use shower. I got my room full of water 😂 but Sydney was perfect and the hotel was also perfect.
- Trevor (5/5): Aight - Online check in process was annoying and slow
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Patrick (7/5): -
- Lee (1/5): -
- Antonio (6/5): - Não utilizamos pois não tinha onde deixar as malas quando chegamos . Não tem recepção. Difícil acesso. Somente escadas para subir com muitas malas
- Martha (10/5): Great place-will be back to Sydney regularly and this is the perfect business trip stopover - What a great place - convenient, trendy, clean, everything I needed for a one night stay business trip. Bed was super comfy, and access was easy. Def recommend It would have been convenient to have a box of tissues around. Not a complaint just a recommendation. Doing a great job Sarah by Urban Rest

- Smith (9/5): Great spot, 10 out of 10, would definitely stay there again - Great location, close to everything I needed. Sensor light in the bathroom turning off while you're in the shower.
- Dianne (3/5): Check-in ridiculous; location good; value good; very small room with ridiculous access to bathroom; no view at all; no a - Cleanliness The check-in process
- Hana (9/5): A great stay, all needs were met, small yet plenty of space for me. Would definitely stay again. Would recommend. - Neat, tidy, modern, convenient, well presented. Stayed in room number 7. Water damage evident, top left of the window near bathroom. Potential mould hazard.
- Justine (6/5): -
- Fiona (10/5): Perfect little bolthole for one person - This was a delightful hotel for a single traveller. The room is tiny, but perfect for one person. I had a super comfortable bed. Slept well and the hotel was securely locked via coded entry and exit. Great location. Could not fault it - I will definitely be back. Couldn't fault it. It was really delightful all round.
- Maria (9/5): Clean, comfortable stay with great amenities & fast response via email - Clean, safe, convenient There was no toilet brush
- Paul (9/5): I enjoyed being close to the restaurants and my sons residence, I had everything that I needed a - Location excellent very convenient to the function i was attending. I little cramped and the ac a little noisy but had everything that a required.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Ashlee (8/5): Lovely, cosy little room in a great location. -
- jm (8/5): -
- Vanessa (6/5): Great location and comfortable. - The location was perfect for me. The bed was very comfortable. The checking in process was confusing, and I think a $200 holding fee after you have paid is too expensive.
The iron did not work, and the throw rug on the bed was very dirty.
- Sam (5/5): Okay value, comfy bed, nice small bathroom, noisy street & mouldy curtains. - The accomodation was nice and equiped for a short stay with minimal luggage. The shower was great, bed comfy & over all an okay experience. It's a beautiful place to stay in Sydney with a lot of good food near by and the accomodation is reasonable choice if you're after a small, no-frills room. Just don't expect much! The "cafe" down stairs is closed permanently it seems. The bed linen had some small stains and the curtains have large amounts of black mould on the back of them unfortunately. It would've been nice to see the room kept in a more cleanly state. Our room was facing the street and you could hear all of the street noise during the night unfortunately - a problem considering it is an area with a lot of restaurants and bars. The sensor light in the bathroom kept turning off whilst you were in there & wouldn't turn on again. It seems to be faulty.
- liang (8/5): Clean and quiet, I had good sleeps as I needed. I love the smart design of the place while some small touch-up could mak - 1. Clean bed, floor and especially the toilet/bath, despite the small size of the bath, the design is smart and neat.
2. Hotline staff are welcoming, some are effective to solve problems
3. Cleaning staff are super lovely and attend to details:) 1. I booked two rooms, but both have a poor, blocked tiny window, no view at all, very dark day time, which is totally opposite what the top picture of the room photos (which suggest a bright, cheerful full-sized window door and views) - I would strongly suggest the room photos on booking sites shall differentiate the full-sized window room and blocked small window to avoid disappointment. Personally, room type with full-sized windows is sound value for money, while the blocked one is not.
2. Need chair with back and some shelf space at room
3. Staff are globe supporting thus some are not familiar with specific property and may give uncertain information about the facilities.
- liang (8/5): A clean, quiet and pleasant stay. A big thank to staff Jeff who helped me smartly to extend a night - Cleanness and comfort beds The room I got has a blocked tiny window; window frames were not cleaned regularly.
- Mark (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and off the main area but close enough you could walk to town.
- clark (1/5): -
- Tyson, Milton (9/5): Great cheap stay loved it very much - Very cozy and nice Bit small not a problem
- Claudia (8/5): Cool design, perfect location, great value. - Great design and interior, clean and perfect location. The rooms are compact, as advertised, so perfect for a short stay. Great rooftop to work from and nice shared space downstairs. Surrounded by great food options, supermarkets and transport. Had issues with the code not working on my room, but staff fixed it after about 20mins.
Would have been great to have a small table and chair on the balcony.
- Sophie (10/5): Definitely will stay again! - The bed was so comfortable and the room was clean and modern It was a bit confusing at first to figure out how to get in but ended up being very easy
- Natalie (3/5): -
- Graham (5/5): Comfortable but VERY NOISY DOWNSTAIRS will not stay again. - Very good location Arrived exhausted after 14 hr trip only to be kept awake till 1am due to excessive yelling and drunk behaviour downstairs from our room.
- Anna (9/5): - Modern facilities, comfy bed.
