Guest Reviews
- mike (9/5): Great Place - Location
Comfort
Ease of entry Communication with Urban Rest patchy and sometimes confusing
- James (9/5): Excellent, we could have stayed longer - Good location. Great space for 2 people. Very modern A lot of construction going on in the local area
- David (8/5): Very Comfortable - Perfect for what we needed, good location, bus stops right outside the apartment. The hosts were easily contactable via email and always responded quickly. We requested an apartment not overlooking the main street and they took that into consideration when the apartment was allocated as the pub opposite can get noisy on weekends. We also requested a mid stay clean which was arranged on a convenient day for us at a cost. Not enough cooking dishes, as we were there 3 weeks we were limited with what we could cook with, there was only a grill pan and no other dishes you could use in the oven. As mentioned their was a bit of noise on weekends late on but not that bad. I'd have liked the information to access the apartment emailed a bit earlier as i could only find out after we landed.
- Thomas (10/5): - Lækker lejlighed hvor der var tænkt over detaljerne. Udsigten fra lejligheden var lidt kedelig men det var kun et meget lille minus.

- Joe (1/5): Do not recommend, multiple problems in this apartment, poor service and definitely not worth the money. - The location. Bus stop was right outside the door, supermarket over the road, very handy to cafes etc. We were there for 17 days. From the moment we arrived there were problems. We raised these with Urban Rest Double Bay, who were managing the property, and very little was done about them. Promises were made, everything seemed to take them time. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly on arrival and we had a severe increase in temperatures for two days. This wasn’t fixed for about five days after we moved in. The toilet leaked, days later a plumber came and it was temporarily repaired Christmas Eve. However we were unable to sit on it for 24 hours. After Christmas it leaked again up until we left.
As a gesture of apology for poor service (us phoning them Christmas Eve about concerns, then no one calling us back for 3.5 hours, then I phoned them again)…..they said via email Christmas Day, they would deliver a Christmas Hamper when they could arrange a staff member to bring it in person to apologise.
However they were shortstaffed and did not have anyone available to deliver it. We checked out 3 January, the Christmas Hamper never arrived.
A lampshade was broken in the lounge on arrival. A key had broken off in a veranda door which obviously wasn’t fixed from previous guests. The head on the vacuum cleaner wouldn’t stay on as the attachment was broken. They did replace this with a different vacuum a couple of days later.
Okay, Racks in the oven and oven tray were dirty. The bottom sheet on the king size bed had some holes and cuts in it, which I did raise with staff and send photos. We are from New Zealand and were visiting family for Christmas. We paid NZ$625 a night to stay here. This was appalling service and below par accommodation for the cost.
- Steve (9/5): Great apartment in a great suburb - The location was brilliant. Close to everything we needed including ferries & buses. The apartment was spotless. All appliances were near new, we were able to wash and iron clothes. We would definitely stay here again. These are only really minor points, as we really enjoyed the property, but the check in process was a little convoluted, as 18 hours prior to arrival, we had to provide photo ID, and credit card details. Also the traffic noise was greater than we would have liked in one of the two bedrooms. The second bedroom was fine.

- Tim (10/5): A hidden gem in Double Bay! - An amazing stay at a beautifully appointed property with all the ammenities and relaxing vibe in the heart of Double Bay. Highly recommend.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Great stay. Will be back - The sheets are too small for the bed. Needs a fitted sheet on the bottom
- Jacky (5/5): Never again. - Nothing much. Catered for people that dined out. Not even a toaster! The keypad entry didn’t work most of the time… had to wait for people going in to enter building.
Not great for my elderly in laws.
- Tommy (8/5): - Nice
- Tash (10/5): Highly recommend the apartment. I was recovering from surgery and it was very close to everything. - Very convenient to where we needed to be. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, beach, pubs and supermarket. Someone else obviously had our code and walk in at one time but quickly walked back out again after seeing us sitting on the couch. Just thought they should have tried knocking first.
- DARREN (9/5): -
- Tania (9/5): Spacious modern apartment in great location - Very spacious and modern apartment. Surprisingly quiet given its entrance is on a busy road. Well equipped kitchen. Nothing really
- Andrew (6/5): - Well appointed modern apartment. Very comfortable. Very noisy, particularly on a Saturday night. Road was loud at all times and noise reached a crescendo when the pub emptied out at 2am. Good location apart from that - but that is a big negative!
- Gerry (4/5): - Good location. Modern. Reasonably well equipped. Keyless (code) entrance. A couple of small niggles: Loud fridge, loose floorboard. However, the main issue is that the balcony is enclosed with frosted glass which barely opens. It resembles sitting in a public toilet. This must have been a planning requirement but it seriously detracts from the enjoyment of the property.
- Tania (9/5): Comfortable and well equipped apartment - Spacious and clean and comfortable.
- Dianne (10/5): Short walk to the train line. Short wait for multiple options of Ubers. The perfect location for not being too populated - Location, facilities, size of apartment & the bonus of a balcony. There was nothing to dislike
- Amity (7/5): - Good facilities clean perfect for a longer stay Left an expensive bracelet at the property and was told they would look for it but never heard back.
- Emily (10/5): -
- Sally (9/5): Lovely apartment managed by a great team but noisy! - Fantastic bright , large and well equipped apartment . The location is great but as others have said, these apartments, especially the ones at the front, are VERY noisy. The busy pub over the road creates lots of noise at the weekend and it goes on for some time. Urban Rest did try and help us as much as possible on this but it is a real issue.
- Maria (6/5): Had a reasonable stay in a clean well appointed apartment however could be exceptional if noise could be reduced. Could - Clean, well appointed and presented. Moses with easy seamless access. It was very noisy! The bedroom requires double glazed glass to reduce noise from pub across the road, traffic noise and overnight roadworks. Bathroom could do with more shelving and storage.
- Diana (6/5): Perfect apartment, perfect location for us - Location was great. Apartment was clean and offered everything we needed for a self-contained stay. We didn't get what was promised in that we were given a room in which the dishwasher did not work. What was upsetting to us was the fact that the company already knew about it and didn't consider an alternative for us. Secondly, the hot water did not work and it wasn't until we reported it that it was found to be a problem throughout the whole building. Staff at Urban Rest were quick to action though.
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Perfect location and accomodation
- Tiffany (9/5): Superb -
- Mashal (7/5): Good - I liked it was on the main street with a nice kitchen. The place was dark and stuffy. The internet dropped off couple of times.
- Denise (10/5): - Spacious modern apartment with views over Double Bay. Close to all dining and transport. Perfect place for a lovely time in Sydney. Will go again.
- Jannette (7/5): A comfortable stay with lots of space and well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. - Loved the space and great location. Very noisey. Excessive traffic noise, loud motor cycles and cars. Needs double glazing to rectify this.
Could smell garbage room when exiting the lift on fourth floor.
- Shalina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Really loved the fresh design and contemporary facilities of this apartment - Clean, fresh modern design, super beds and pillows, full size fridge, washer and drier…in fact everything you need for a week or a month! Could use a box of tissues…but that’s just being picky!
- Michelle (7/5): Couldn’t stay in apt 402 again… would consider another apt in the building away from new south head road! - Stylish and self contained apartment with easy access to everything … beautifully presented Too noisy to sleep, not double glazed and opposite a 2am finishing pub… voices, cars, buses motorbikes and sirens all night!
Balcony unusable as a film of dust builds up daily
- Shalina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Clean and spacious. - Very clean and tidy recently renovated apartment. Quite spacious. The check in was very easy with key pad and unique code provided via email. Make sure to complete the online "check in" before you arrive.
- Zoega (9/5): Superb - Fantastic space. Very clean a comfortable. Super well equipped. Loved the details like yoga mat, exercise equipment. A bit noise from traffic early night/mornings, preventing possibility to open windows.
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely perfect in everyway! Clean, spacious and well equipped with all you needed for a comfortable stay. Close to shops, cafes and hotel. I will definitely come back! Nothing!
