Guest Reviews
- Carol (2/5): Great location - but that's about it for the positives. - The location was really the only highlight - it's fabulously central.
The bedside lamp - it worked, and it was great. Possibly the worst experience I've had in years. I was not expecting much, being an old pub, either.
The room was a horror. I can't imagine it had been cleaned in any meaningful way, although there was a freshly folded towel on the (kind of) made bed. But that was it. The bed cover was stained. There was a crushed insect (a wasp or something) on the pillow. The sheets did not feel fresh. There was a used towel still hanging on the bedroom door. There was rubbish (lolly wrappers etc) in the corner on the carpet, and the carpet was dirty also, so clearly had not been cleaned.
The wifi password I was given did not work. It was short a digit. There were what looked like big bugs stuck to the very high ceiling - all I could do was hope they stayed there through the night! The window was cracked. There were bright hallway lights on all night, and my room had a big glass pane over the door into the hallway, uncovered, which rendered the room as light as day. There was a TV bracket in the room, but no TV. You got a bed, a lamp, and a round lamp table. That's it. The room itself though is quite large.
Some of the bathrooms were closed (under renovation the signs said) so there was quite a bit of competition for the remaining ones, as the hotel appeared to be fully occupied, largely by men. The bathrooms are MIXED SEX, and not particularly clean. This probably should be noted somewhere. There was a lounge area available, and tea and coffee - but upon opening the fridge, I found the milk to be two days out of date.
The carpet in the hallways, and especially on the stairs, is nothing short of diabolically old, and is a great trip hazard, given there's 3 flights of stairs.
I ate in the bar downstairs - and it was OK, once I figured out where the cutlery was. The girl who delivered my meal without any had no idea where it might be, and told me to "ask at the bar" - which I did.
The cleanliness needs urgent attention.

- Wiseman (5/5): - One of the staff members rolled her eyes when asking for the door code. I felt like I was wasting her time. I generally like the place but this staff member was very rude and made me uncomfortable on a couple of occasions.
- Karen (8/5): Beautiful old building fantastic location clean and comfortable room we really enjoyed our stay - Location was fantastic room was basic but very comfortable and warm we enjoyed a fabulous meal from the restaurant I was disappointed that you couldn’t access the beautiful upstairs balcony it would of been beautiful to sit out with a drink

- Mike (8/5): Good value and clean accommodation with excellent meals. - Rooms were clean and tidy, beds comfortable and warm. Toilet and shower facilities older but spotless. Beer cold, drinks reasonably priced. Meals good value and excellent quality. Stairway carpet brought the vibe down.

- Tom (6/5): - Price and availability at short notice Returned around 9pm to the building locked up and with no key or pin to get inside given. Wasn’t communicated that the pub shuts early or how to get back inside, no answer for the phone number provided
- Jeff (8/5): Over all top pub and will definitely look at staying again - Country hospitality and pub meals ice cold beer
Kids welcome even had little play area for them Although we totally understand the concept of community bath rooms I personally think should be separate for women and children and men on their own this isn't a complaint just a suggestion
- Gemma (9/5): -
- Jacqui (5/5): - Location Needs renovations in some areas
- Nicole (2/5): Would not recommended staying, bar and restaurant were good though. - The restaurant down stairs and bar staff were lovely. The room was cramped, tv and lamp did not work in the room. There was noticeable damage to the door of our room that anyone would have been able
To see one of my kids sleeping in the bed next to the door. We had the a few very drunk neighbours yelling and swearing all night. There was noticable damage one to talk to about it, most of the shared rest rooms and showers were broken. The shared kitchen/dinning area was dusty and the benches were falling apart. Dispite offers of free wifi we were told not to do certain things with it. Like streaming or kids playing games online. Having people drunk wandering the halls all hours was scary. Doors slamming and arguments could be heard throughout the night.
- Zowie (10/5): Great pub!!! - Great food, clean rooms. Great staff
- Don (8/5): A terrific place to explore Junee and the surrounding area. - Great location and a great old building.
- Peter (6/5): - Bathrooms getting redone, not good now.
- Phillips (7/5): - Friendly staff. Highly hazardous and damaged carpet on staircase, almost tripped on the gaping holes and threads.
- geenalh (7/5): Great stopover - Fine for a quick stop over - a shame we arrived so late, the pub looked lovely!

- Lynette (10/5): A birthday celebration and my fifth grandchild visit - Location, all needed was at my disposal. Being as helpful as humanly possible. They were booked out
- Summarose (6/5): - Great building easy to find The stairs heading up to the rooms
- Louise (10/5): We look forward to being back someday. Maybe the upstairs verandah will be open for use then. - The Hotel is a beautiful building, and there is love and consideration in the way the owners look after it. The food was wonderful, and the sense of community in the place was extraordinary.
- Francis (10/5): great value for money, friendly environment and great food - friendly access to veranda would have been great but understand safety concerns
- Catherine (7/5): Love staying in these old hotels, obviously not going to have all the facilities but love that someone wants to restore - Loved someone loved an old hotel and wanted to restore
- Jonathon (5/5): We made do but we wouldn't go back there. - In the middle of town, reasonable tariff. Bathrooms were very ordinary, blocked toilet in one cubicle. No paper in another, some out of order. Not very clean.
There was a mix up with the bedding configuration when we arrived, my booking.com email stated twin beds in both rooms, we were told we'd booked queen rooms. It was sorted out but wasn't a pleasant start to our stay.
- Carol (5/5): - Location Shower set up
- Nadeen (8/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): - Friendly staff, great food, great beer, very welcoming locals.

- Bruce (8/5): -
- Dennis (8/5): Charming old world accommodation - Good old world accommodation All fine
- Oliver (7/5): - Super comfy beds Glass panel above the door let in so much light the room was dimly lit the whole night which wasn’t very conducive to sleeping
- susan (7/5): - Convience friendly staff very reasonable rates Could have been a little cleaner and maybe a mirror in the bedroom making bathroom stay shorter. Also some hooks in the shared bathrooms to hang clothes and towels.
- Lynette (7/5): A visit and then out again - Location Bathrooms need to be female or male, knowing work needed to be done
- Carlene (10/5): -
- RUOFAN (10/5): nice - nice gay,thanks
- BENJI (6/5): Room was fine but not the common toilets - Room was clean and bed was comfy for the night. Very bad plumbing. All upstairs toilets were clogged the next morning so was horrified by what I saw in the morning. Lucky the downstairs toilet worked ok.
- Michelle (5/5): A great stay in Junee regardless - Location great, didn’t have breakfast Great old hotel, with lots of old world charm
My disappointment was the rooms. It needs a table and chair, or somewhere to put clothes and belongings
Showers had nowhere to put toiletries or hang clean clothes, a dry area in the showers to dry of and get dressed
Both toilets and bathrooms need male and female. I went to the toilet and a man walked in, not good, that all needs to be addressed
Meals really nice, would stay again if this is fixed or try. Thankyou for your hospitality anyway 😊
- Carlene (10/5): -
- Brendan (7/5): - Classic old style Australian pub full of character , huge ceilings, warm ,good tv, appreciated communal kitchen fridge and microwave Couldn’t access veranda
- Carlene (10/5): Love junee hotel - The staff r amazing and the onsite maintenance bloke is lovely It's not about the hotel it's the taxi service in town but I love the hotel
- Joyce (4/5): -
- Mallory (8/5): - Comfortable room for a one night stop over, suitable amenities air conditioning was too hot and not adjustable from the room, could open window but a pingeon threatening to fly in. Check out was confusing with no instructions on my check in so ended up leaving key in my door as I had to leave at 6am. I felt bad for the employee checking me in as her boss was berating her at the same time when it should have been handled once I was gone.
- Carlene (10/5): -
- RUNCHEN (7/5): A nice stay at Junee - Position, it's quite central. Great old fashioned building, nice food served at bar downstairs. Even with real fire place. It not really easy to find a good condition shared bathroom, without blocked drain or door unable to lock.
- Karsha (10/5): Thank you Junee Hotel! - It was easy to locate the hotel, the beds were comfy and they were able to cater to a big family. Probably no tv in the rooms.
- Evelina (4/5): Duryse nėra rankenos - Labai skanus maistas bare. Malonus aptarnaujantis personalas. Mano kambario durys buvo be rankenos...
- Carlene (5/5): -
- Margaret (6/5): Thanks - Close to train. Warm rooms. Great beds. Toilet floor in shared bathroom was wet .. leaky toilet??
- Webbe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ken (8/5): My accomodation; Of choice, when I'm in Junee. Always a pleasure to come back - An excellent : Budget, hotel located right in the heart of Junee, directly across the tracks from the railway station. Great, cosy atmosphere, with excellent meals. Rooms are comfortable, with heating/air conditioning It's not a case of; What I didn't like. Currently, the restoration of this historic old building is a; Work in progress; (So to speak). The bathroom facilities are a bit spartan,, (BYO soap etc), and the verandah is currently closed to the public. Common room area upstairs has tea/coffee facilities, but no crockery. As I said, it's a restoration in progress. Will be great when it's finished.
- Grant (9/5): Great value for money. Room was large, beds comfortable, food great pub food. - Pub great, staff great, food great, room basic but great, value for money great! Bathroom needs a spruce up
- Saunders (8/5): Great place to stay, food was well above standard rooms clean - Very old Pub but owner is making improvements and was very helpful the quirkyness is what makes staying in old pubs so wonderful this one was excellent. The bathrooms need a little more TLC but im sure its on their to do list
- Crystal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ken (7/5): An excellent Budget hotel. Rooms are clean, comfortable, heated/air conditioned Bathrooms are basic -
- Carol (4/5): Clean & comfy bed but overall very very basic room - The long & fire place near the bar & outside The bathrooms & showers were in poor condition with no locks on doors
- Agnieszka (7/5): Comfortable, clean and central location , value for money - Price / value Lack of showers and toilet in the room.
- John (9/5): Excellent stay, friendly staff, clean quiet room - Location ease of parking to room Nothing
- Jane (7/5): Quirky Junee Hotel - Its history and quirkiness Sheets very crumpled and not sure if hadn’t been used. No mirror or tv in room. Had to use small mirror next to toilet in shared toilet area. Not ideal when a male wants to come out of the toilet beside you. Went to get a plate out of cupboard in communal kitchen and everything was wet. Carpet a trip hazard on the staircase. It’s all torn. Had to ask 3 different staff members for wifi own.
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ashley (6/5): Good value for your money - Close to where we were going. The creaky floors
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (6/5): Pleasant -

Comfortable mattress, room was a good temperature all night and very quiet Bathroom shower didn’t have a lock and door didn’t close fully, also bedding had what looked like old blood stains
