- Melinda (9/5): The perfect spot for a relaxing stay to unwind and do conference calls. - Rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Loved the deep bath and balcony area to admire the view and kangaroos. Study table/nook was handy for husband to work and do conference calls. The breakfast is abundant and healthy with a lovely view. A great start to the day. Rooms didn't have instructions on how to use the coffee pod machine and we didn't know what colour pod produced which result. Would've liked a bit of tea variety. eg. Earl Grey, green or peppermint tea. Bed was a bit too firm for me. In the bathroom, would've liked cotton buds/pad as other places provide; also access to bath salts/foam/soap in bath area.
- Niels Compagnie (10/5): - the location was superb, on top of a hill so you had a 360 degrees view into the valley. very quiet surrounded by nature and all its sounds. great waking up with a sunset and coffee on the balcony with the kangaroos jumping by. Good included spa amenities. short 15 minutes walk down the hill to the next resort to have dinner next to a small lake. /
- Nicola (8/5): - Beautiful location Some facilities weren’t available
Breakfast was a bit limited for the price and coffee option wasn’t great

- Manni (10/5): The most perfect place for a mother daughter weekend getaway. - The most perfect mother daughter get away! An amazing location with kangaroos bounding around. The most perfectly relaxing way to spend a weekend away. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which had the most comfy beds and high pressure showers. There was a good healthy breakfast in the morning and a list of daily activities - we attended the sound bath and pilates classes with paid vouchers. The pool and gym were good with a clean ladies’s changing room complete with lockers, robes and towels. Unfortunately the steam/sauna rooms were not open and the jets on the magnesium pool broke on the second day of our stay.
- Howarth (6/5): -
- edward (10/5): Very relaxing and chill. - Unbeatable view, location and kangaroos in the grounds. Nothing.
- barbara (10/5): Superb stay - We loved everything about our stay, the location, the super friendly staff, the beautiful room. The breakfasts were exceptional and watching the kangaroos and wildlife to the rear of the property from our balcony was the icing on the cake.We can wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place. There was nothing to dislike...everything was top notch

- Debra (9/5): Elysia was a beautiful stay in the Hunter Valley and very close to the wineries. - Lovely countryside, hot air balloons early morning, very peaceful and chilled. Lovely and clean and great facilities. The magnesium soak pool was my favourite and the indoor 25 mtre swimming pool. We saw lots of kangaroos, butterflies and an abundance of bird life while we stayed. The included breakfast was also really healthy and an added bonus to our stay. Highly recommend.

- Carolina (5/5): We had a pleasant stay but wish the rooms were more updated with modern facilities like basic things like Netflix and ba - Location was great Very outdated rooms with basic facilities
- Corinne (5/5): As a leisure guest- disappointing more care on needs of guests would make this an outstanding experience - Beautiful location- stunning
Facilities spa, gym pool amazing
Some staff amazing specifically Deb who provided us with breakfast despite arriving a few mins after it had close We booked as "leisure guests " outside of Elysia programs - as a hotel guest. We were not aware that there was no restaurant on site so all
Meals either had to be offsite or at cypress oaks - breakfast finishes at 9am very short availability
As a hotel option Elysia fell disappointingly short - no complimentary water or even capacity to buy snacks give no food available on site outside their wellness retreat - did not feel guest centric we had to suit their timetable. it was clear that if you were on a program you received different treatment in the words of one staff member you aren't left to "forage" for yourself - thankfully the shuttle to cypress oaks is on demand - If owners open their doors for "hotel style"
Leisure guests they need to think about the needs of these guests as a different type of customer to meet basic hotel standard experience.

- 172saritk (2/5): DEFINITELY not a wellness retreat - NOT worth the money. Definitely NOT a wellness retreat! Low quality food covered in mayonnaise and supermarket bought salad dressing, rooms not clean, staff not friendly and manager rude and not welcoming!
- Guide21083063855 (8/5): A get away for a few days with Accountability business buddies - Great few days - beautiful location and facilities - wait staff need training - they did try. Fabulous wellness facilities and gym. Wellness team amazing
- 447jackyb (10/5): lovely as always. Changes afoot - Lovely as always. Changes afoot but be aware if you have been before and have expectations that you are happy with the new arrangements.
- 920gaylee (10/5): A Wonderful Wellness Escape - I recently spent seven days at Elysia Wellness Retreat as a reset and some much-needed time out, and I absolutely loved it.
The staff were incredibly welcoming, the accommodation was excellent and very clean, and the food was superb, every meal was delicious. I originally planned to spend a lot of time relaxing and reading, but the daily activities were so enjoyable that I ended up filling my days with fitness classes, health sessions and presentations.
The spa was also fantastic. I had several massages and facials during my stay, and the Kahuna massage in particular was amazing.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Elysia to anyone wanting to relax, recharge and focus on their wellbeing. I am already looking forward to returning.

- Laura (8/5): -
- Ethan (10/5): - The staff really welcoming and helpful Air con being floor vented would be nice if there was fans.
- Zuzana (10/5): - Výborná lokalita v prírode, krásna izba, perfektne zariadená. Super výhľady. Ráno aj večer sme videli klokany pod balkónom. Páčili sa nám aj bazény. Využili sme aj bezplatný odvoz k sesterskému hotelu. Personál bol priateľský a ústretový.
- 949elainer (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - This was my second stay here within 6 weeks. Such a wonderful location. Accommodation was excellent and such a Very peaceful place
- BorisDJ2026 (10/5): Unit state - Some of the things in the room were a little bit worn out. Light switch cover cracked. The fridge failed after 2 days.
- Stolli22 (8/5): Love this place although it needs a freshen up - Excellent wellness resort - fabulous food, great staff, really interesting programs and great therapists - it just needs sprucing up a bit.
- Amarjit (8/5): Awesome views and very peaceful. - Location Beds were too soft
- Haley (10/5): -
- Beatriz (9/5): Beautiful place to relax - The retreat was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The area is beautiful and we saw a lot of kangaroos around, which was amazing. The breakfast area is in a different building, so you need to walk about 20 minutes, drive, or take the shuttle provided.
- Sukkar (9/5): -
- rjpdfranks (10/5): Total relaxation - Very relaxing , would highly recommend. But stay at least 3 nights, to experience the whole thing of its offerings.
- AVRIL (8/5): 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self contained apartment, with sweeping views over the Hunter Valley - Location, with sweeping views over the Hunter Valley.
We were also impressed with healthy breakfast offerings and friendly staff. Both swimming pools surrounds needed renovation as showing their age.
- Lina (10/5): I loved it - Loved it Toilet has some unpleasant smell
- Sandra (7/5): Good breakfast with a view - The hotel is situated at a beautiful surrounding of nature. Vineyards everywhere and Kangaroo in the garden. 20m ish indoor pool. Healthy breakfast and friendly staff. Spacious rooms
Tennis court
Gym
No children allowed I would have loved to know in advance that I needed to book the spa for treatment due to be fully booked. Indoor pool full of flies and inside the water full of leaves.
In the room no bathtubs soap.
Sagging mattresses
No room service, lunch or dinner if you didn’t book the packages, you need to move hotel or restaurant as they don’t provide for this
Spa, we did each a stone massage that I would recommend. I did a deep tissue massage immediately after that I loved and 100% would recommend (male therapist)
Didn’t like to hear the leave blower while having the massages neither.
- Jade (9/5): Relaxing atmosphere with fabulous views and excellent staff. - The location was stunning. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and so spacious. The facilities were brilliant with access to the outdoor pool and loungers being my favourite. I would like to return to visit the spa next time. The shuttle bus running between Elysia and Cypress was so convenient, and the drivers were so accommodating. Cypress Resort is right beside Elysia, has a full restaurant for dinner and is also the collection point for wine tours. I would highly recommend this for a relaxing girls trip. I was just slightly disappointed by the breakfast. The photos online show avocado and poached eggs which wasn’t actually available. The breakfast buffet had limited options but was still tasty.
- Manju (9/5): -
- Lydia (9/5): We loved it and will definitely come back. - Location, amenities, staff and the size of the room (big and spacious). The spa facilities are a bit outdated and could benefit from a renovation, but still great to have.
- Cerys (9/5): Loved our stay, it was very quiet, comfortable, and great location! Will definitely stay again - Modern, spacious, quiet Couldn’t easily find on their website a breakfast menu / what breakfast consisted of, or if they served lunch and dinner
- Tracy (9/5): Lovely and chilled. Staff were all lovely - Everything Vegetarian hot food for breakfast.
- Q4680CZstevenm (10/5): We love our time at Elysia. - Elysia is a wonderful combination of exercise, wellness, good food and relaxation. We go for a week each New Year for a total reset and to kickstart our year (we just booked for our 7th straight year). We've come to know the team at Elysia and we rate them so highly. It seems each year we get something different from the experience. Matt and Tom are fantastic leaders and coaches, Gina for classes, Deb in dining service and treatments with Scott, Lachlan and Siddhi; they provide an all-round wonderful health and wellness package and we love that you can do as little or as much as you want. And also important to mention, we have become great friends with many of our fellow guests over the years and this has been the one of the great joys of being an Elysia guest.
- chescka (10/5): Great Getaway - This place is amazing if you want peace and quiet and no kids - it was relaxing i would come back here again
- Mateusz (8/5): -
- Wendy (9/5): -
- jetseta10 (8/5): Great stay in the Hunter - The views are amazing! However, if we stayed again, I would ask for a higher floor room. There are two levels, and the rooms on the higher level have significantly even better views. Also, the noise from the room above was easily heard, so staying in the higher room would erase this issue too. Other than that, the rooms themselves are great. The tennis courts, gym and basketball courts are fantastic. The outdoor pool and poolside furniture definitely need an upgrade, so we don’t spend much time here. The can though (I believe) is the pool and facilities at Cypress Lakes, so if this is important to you, you do have that option as well. You just lose the adults only serenity if you’re holidaying as couples and seeking that quiet adult time.
We’d definitely return, but would be requesting a room on the upper floor.
- Elaine (6/5): A little disappointing. - The landscape and views were amazing. I think the property needs to be updated. It didn’t feel luxurious which I was expecting.
- Raveena (8/5): -
- Nahdia (6/5): We loved the rooms and space and views! - Loved the view, the rooms and the service was amazing. All staff treated us nicely! The breakfast was dismal and limited (sorry!). The eggs were scrambled but watery, the chickpea fritters weren’t great and there was barely any warm food. I understand it’s a wellness retreat focusing on health, but I know this could be much much better if the breakfast was on point. Nourishment also comes from food! Do better with your selections PLEASE
- laws0ndavid (10/5): Weekend Away at Elysia - Nice and friendly staff.
Check in and check out process was swift.
Great place to relax and rewind .
Will recommend it for couples who are looking for a quiet place to relax and reset.
Great facilities ✅
- Geeman63 (8/5): Stunning tranquil resort - Property in a stunning location, had originally booked to stay at Cypress Lakes Resort but was allocated a room at Elysia (both properties are integrated).
The room was beautifully appointed and spotless. It was large with a stunning outlook. There is a working microwave but the stove unit isn’t connected. Bathroom large and functional. Foxtel TV appreciated.
For F & B you need to use the outlets at Cypress Lakes Resort.
The only negative for me was the soft and uncomfortable bed but that’s a personal opinion.
Still get a kick out of being surrounded by kangaroos.
Vistas from rooms are stunning.
Would definitely return here.
- Diane (8/5): -
- Carlie (8/5): Relaxing, will return! - The location was a fabulous. The staff were friendly. The breakfast included was delicious and nourishing with a lovely view over the Hunter valley. The rooms were large and clean relatively modern. It was great to have access to the spa facility included however these were quite dated including the outdoor pool which could easily be improved with some attention to the aesthetics.

- Maria (8/5): Great getaway for relaxation - Great location for a romantic getaway. The room we stayed in faced the valley and we could see kangaroos and the sunrise. Beautiful spot. The sport and spa facilities were great even though the jacuzzi in the female area didn’t work properly. Overall really good retreat and perfect surrounding for relaxation. Could have wider variety for breakfast.
- Juan (9/5): -
- guillaume (10/5): - Peaceful and beautiful environment. Very comfortable room. Excellent service, facilities and staff
- I8151IPcraig (2/5): Very Dissapointing Xmas Present for my Wife - Website Missleading re no Provision of standard Health Resort inclusions, No Food on Site (Happy to Pay but not offered)
- kavinda (9/5): Great holiday escape and Value for money. - Great location. Heated indoor pool and Gym,
Hunter Valley View point No availability of its own restaurant.
Had to travel around 1km to the sister property, Oaks lakes resort. (Shuttle service provided). It was kinda fun though.
- Lucie (7/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): My stay was very peaceful, staff very friendly, best massage and facial by Laura. - No children NA
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Felicity (8/5): Spa treatments, relaxation and views were fabulous - Peaceful with beautiful bush and mountain views. Relaxing spa area with warm and cool pools indoor and outside, sauna and ice bath. Luxurious spa and treatments. Breakfast was not available onsite even though it was included and we had to eat a buffet breakfast at neighbouring Cypress Lakes Resort. This was only communicated once we checked in. Disappointing as we were looking forward to more nourishing food. Reception staff communication and customer service was lacking.
- Maya (10/5): -
- Lorraine (9/5): -
- Kylie (10/5): - A perfect stay. Peaceful, breakfast delicious, pools and spa were fabulous and lovely staff. Thank you.
- curtisbS5847QK (8/5): Nice, but could have been better - Nice lodging. The room cleanliness was a little suspect as we had bugs in the shower and the doorway leading into the room hadn’t been swept in a while. Breakfast was mediocre at best.
- Angela (8/5): Perfect place to relax and unwind along with a beautiful outlook. - We loved the location. It was quiet and serene and many kangaroos lying about. N/A
- DAVID (9/5): Fantastic location, peaceful and perfect for a recharge! - Apartment was excellent, as seen in the photos, well appointed. Bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large, great shower, plenty of pressure and hot. Steam room was awesome as was the indoor pool. Debs the brekky lady was very polite and friendly and a pleasure to chat to, breakfast was very enjoyable, plenty of choice, salmon, smashed avo, scrambled eggs, lovely breads, fruit and teas/coffee. Their sister complex served great meals and beers/wines, again, great service from these folks. Room coffee cups were slightly small, would have liked mugs as well. (sorry minor gripe).
- Clare (10/5): Very relaxing , the indoor heated pool is just the right temperature and I had it to myself - Very spacious and luxurious apartment . Best and freshest breakfast ever , coffee great even though it was out of a machine . Kangaroos an added feature
- Alastair and Susan (9/5): -
- Kane (10/5): So peaceful and relaxing - The views from this place are incredible from the reception to the rooms. I cannot rate Elysia highly enough. Nothing
- Oscar (8/5): Lovely location, sweeping views and quiet. A few limitations for dining and oddly limited breakfast. - Breakfast was good but somewhat limited. If you like toast and avocado or granola, you're ok but otherwise there wasn't a lot of options. Also strangely only available between 8 and 9 on weekdays, so no sleep in, even if you have a late checkout.
- Berang (9/5): - It was a really lovely and peaceful place, very clean and well-organised. There was no unnecessary noise at all, and we got our rooms easily and without any hassle We had stayed here before and enjoyed the pool, but unfortunately this time the water was full of hair and debris. However, the hall and the rest of the facilities were very clean and well-maintained. The sauna was also much cleaner than before.
- sandylutton75 (10/5): Amazing setting - Great mother and daughter weekend to reconnect with fitness and relaxation. Exceptional spa facilities and pool, cold plunge and sauna
- Brooke (9/5): Relaxing and refreshing stay - Great room, amazing facilities, nice breakfast and good variety of optional activities
- saraovivek (10/5): Really good experience - Elysia resort in hunter valley is pure bliss. Our ocean-view villa dazzled with a private plunge pool, rain shower, and sunset decks. Staff greeted us with tropical cocktails and unmatched warmth. Dining was divine: farm-to-table fusion with seared snapper, coconut foam, and endless breakfast crepes. Snorkeling revealed vibrant reefs; spa treatments melted stress with local herbs. Eco-friendly touches—solar power, reef-safe amenities—impressed. Luxury meets sustainability seamlessly. Worth every penny for a rejuvenating escape. 10/10—already planning my return! (98 words)
- Bernie (8/5): we wished we could have stayed longer; and now having breakfast available makes staying here more attractive for us - the location, views, space of your own, well appointed and decorated rooms
- MHGoodwin (10/5): Just the place to go when you need a reset. - If you are looking for a place to reset and relax, this is it. Food is incredible, the rooms are spacious, with so many choices of activities and spa treatments. You can do as little or as much as you like. It is not as strict as some other wellness retreats and that was exactly what I needed.
Definitely going back again.
- Steven (5/5): Housekeeping standard really needs to improve a lot. - The room was ok but the oven and stove didnt work. Didnt like the 2 dead cockroaches that layed on the floor the whole 3 day stay.
The breakfast selection was very ordinary
- Journey39544129319 (10/5): Delightful quiet bush location in the heart of the Hunter wineries - We had a lovely stay in a one bedroom apartment with plenty of room. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. The views are wonderful.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Elfick (7/5): - Lovely location, very relaxing. Lots of wildlife around, including a cute family of eastern grey kangaroos. Had a nice pool and was a good location to see the vineyards. The only small issue was the bathroom, though the shower had the standard body wash, shampoo and conditioner, if you decided to have a bath there was nothing. I did advise at reception and they will look into it.
- Alison (7/5): Expecting a higher standard - Location is lovely: a quiet picturesque hill overlooking surrounding vineyards and farmland. Staff were pleasant. Spa is also pleasant and nice therapist. The facilities look tired. Spa pool in the spa area doesn't have functional jets. A sign next to the pool explained that they don't work and the only way to get them working is to replace the pool which is considered costly. Not what you expect from a high class wellness retreat. Other water features around the property looked poorly maintained or just didn't work (eg water feature at the peak of the meditation walk). Breakfast pretty ordinary.
- duggotravels (10/5): Perfect place to relax and recharge - If you need time off or time to recharge the batteries then this is the place for you, the wellness program is such great value for money, the food is of high quality and plenty of it so you never go hungry, staff are fantastic and encourage you to try new things, you get to meet some great people and you can do as much or as little as you want. Have so many options and cater for all different dietary requirements, cant wait to book again for next year.
- pYus (9/5): -
- AngelaPace8 (10/5): Peaceful, rejuvenating, and flexible the perfect wellness escape - The location of Elysia Wellness Retreat is truly peaceful and picturesque the perfect place to unwind and recharge.
The accommodation is spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. There’s a fantastic range of activities on offer, including yoga, boxing, tai chi, guided walks, and even pickleball lessons! Both the indoor and outdoor pools are excellent, and the spa treatments are an absolute must with so many options to choose from, each one is pure bliss.
The meals were generally very good, though it would have been nice to have dessert available each evening.
My only small suggestion would be for the outdoor tai chi sessions they would feel even more relaxing if they weren’t held at the same time as the loud aqua class or when cleaning vehicles are driving nearby.
Aside from that, the staff were consistently professional, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. The seminars were also informative and well-presented.
Overall, I highly recommend Elysia Wellness Retreat to anyone seeking a restorative and rejuvenating wellness experience.
- Catherine (9/5): Lovely weekend escape - Magic setting, beautiful hill rooms and outlook. Good faciliEs for an active weekend. Fabulous Breakfast Would be good to have working spa

- Geoff210948 (8/5): Communication failure. - Our intended booking was for Cypress Resort. Communication online & by phone did not clearly explain we were being shifted elsewhere. Dragging luggage uphill to the Unit would not be pleasant for the elderly.
- Clive (6/5): Would not return - Location was great with some resident Roos to watch. Breakfast was only served from 8 until 9, with a limited offering (only option for eggs available was scrambled). Reception was not manned post 8pm and when returning to the property we found the back gate locked (we were not warned) with no signage that you had to access through their sister hotel which was a 5 minute drive away.
- 439mareem (8/5): 5 night rejuvenation - I am a repeat client here and have been for many years. Fabulous food, amazing staff and treatments in the spa, good selection of physical activities to participate in but rooms are in need of a little love as are parts of the resort. That said, I'll still return.
