Guest Reviews
- Frederick (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful.
- Mark (10/5): - Nothing bad in my experience
- SHOGO (10/5): - Great
- Jeanette (10/5): - Great location on the lake! A perfect respite after a busy day touring Hanoi. The pool on the roof is a highlight. Rooms are big and clean. Highly recommend
- Charles (10/5): - Set in the expat/foreign embassies area and the property feels like a quality sanctuary on the lake. Decked with beautiful flowers the check in staff were helpful and meticulous. Quickly changed my bed from two doubles to a king. The welcome drink was a nice touch.
- Bryna (10/5): - Excellent property and wonderful staff. Really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend!
- JEFFREY (10/5): - Nice clean hotel, away from the crazy traffic downtown.
A great place to relax after a busy day touring Hanoi.
- Kostiantyn (10/5): - Great new place
- Max (10/5): - The hotel is only about a year old and the facilities are amazing. The rooftop infinity pool is heated and has great views over Hanoi. The hotel is also near some excellent restaurants. I'd thoroughly recommend it as a quiet get away from the bustle of the old quarter.
- Christina (10/5): - Great hotel the beds were comfy, I liked the fact it was away from the chaos but a quick grab ride loved the rooftop pool and spa
- Samantha (10/5): - Excellent service, beautiful property and quiet and peaceful, which is not easy to find in Hanoi. It is a 2 dollar cab ride from Old Quarter and absolutely a great place to stay!
- Quinton (10/5): Heaven on the Lake - The staff were attentive to my every need. The rooms were modern and clean. The bathrooms were out of this word and utilized new TOTO washlets. But the stars of the show were the delicious breakfast buffet organized by a very capable and kind manager Ly and the heated infinity pool on the rooftop. I walked the entire west lakefront and 88 Elegant Mansion is located on the most quiet and picturesque section of the lake. Just a wonderful hotel and I would highly recommend this boutique hotel for anyone desiring a quiet relaxing getaway for two.
- Harriet (10/5): - Beautiful, spacious hotel with stylish interior. Such helpful staff. We were only there for a night before flying home but managed to easily walk to local sites and was close to restaurants and cafes.
- Mark (4/5): - Gorgeous hotel with great staff. Greed in management and no handicap rooms meant an upgrade for first 5 nights. I am sure I was the only guest in hotel. Lady phoned and told me we would have to move to 3 rd floor for our last night. Once again nobody in hotel. I paid extra money to keep existing room because not easy to change rooms. My wife returned to hotel and agreed it was difficult to move me. They gave no choice pay extra or move rooms. If hotel was busy it would be ok to move but once again hotel was totally empty
- Shemia (8/5): - Great stay, great service
- Rosemary (10/5): - Beautiful property
- chuong Hoang (10/5): - The room I got was the suite with a king bed and four nice soft pillows. Decent view 180 of the neighborhood. The rain shower was awesome with great pressure. My Room was awesome all around amenities!!! The gym did needed a Smith machine. I highly recommend this place even though it's far from the French quarters.
- Kevin (10/5): - Exceptionally kind staff, amazing buffet breakfast, new gorgeous well designed boutique hotel. 15 minutes Away from busy old quarter by taxi. Some local dining options, Habibi a favourite. Nice spa. A real gem!
- ABIGAIL ANH (10/5): - Very nice hotel! Great breakfast options, bathrooms have bidet and bathtub has massage features.
- Macy (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Judy (10/5): - My stay at this property was one of the best of my life. Staff and the management are all top notch. Highly recommend.
- Midhun (10/5): - Amazing spot in a quiet spot right next to a beautiful lake. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel amenities along with our junior suite was exceptional.
- Gabriel (10/5): - Really lovely location with very helpful staff. Checkin and arrangements was a really easy process. Would heavily recommend staying
- Ruby (10/5): Definitely stay here - Thank you for looking after us so well! The room was stunning, service fantastic! Our favourite hotel on our Vietnam trip! The hotel coffee is incredible. It might been a little out of the main hustle but a taxi (grab app) is only £2 each way and it was so much nicer to be in the quiet area as it’s very loud in the centre.
- Lesia (10/5): - We loved everything at the property.
The decor is new and outstanding and all amenities are modern.
Our suite was superb.
The staff are caring and professional.
Was a pleasure to sit in the elegant lounge.
The bartender who prepared my Negroni was very fastidious. It was the best Negroni I’ve had.
Was wonderful to also enjoy a sauna, both wet and dry and a very relaxing foot/leg massage in a lovely room.
Even though the breakfast buffet is not as large as other places, there was everything available that you really need. The plain yoghurt was Greek style, thick and not sweet which is to my taste. Of course there were variations on this. For the cooked meals, selections are made from a menu that staff bring to your table and take your order.
If you are looking for a very clean, modern and new hotel to stay in, do not look any further.
You will not be disappointed.
Located away from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, so provides a peaceful contrast.
On the other hand, it is a short cab ride to the old quarter in Hanoi, to see the sights
- VINCENT (10/5): - very Good staff and an outstanding hotel. Elegant, sophisticated, and truly distinguished. Modern and confortable rooms. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking a top-tier experience.
- Jonathan M (10/5): Perfect quiet hotel in Hanoi - Excellent hotel for a stay in Hanoi. Really enjoyed our time here. Will definitely be back again.
- Michelle (10/5): - The food was excellent!
- Vinh (10/5): - This is my favorite hotel out of 6 hotels I stayed in VN during this VN trip. Quiet, super clean, excellent junior suite design. lovely and cozy hotel. Great breakfast, friendly staffs. I will definitely stay at this hotel if i ever visit Hanoi again.
- Anthony (10/5): - The property was very nice, clean, beautiful rooms, great amenities.
- David (10/5): - Beautiful rooms, service and location. Absolutely the nicest part of Hanoi too.
- Dorota (10/5): - Lovely
- Melanie (8/5): - Lovely hotel and experience! The staff are very kind and attentive and the amenities in the room and on the property are fantastic. Being outside the old quarter, it’s definitely quieter which was nice for sleeping but something to consider if you are wanting to spend time closer to the “hustle and bustle”
- Navodit (10/5): - This was a great place to stay in Hanoi.
- Irene (8/5): Not quite on the lake - The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of old Town, so it was nice to be away from the constant beeping of traffic. But it is only around £3 to take a Grab taxi to get to Old Town.
We were able to check in a couple of hours early and they said we can have complimentary snacks and drinks in the room, which was a nice as it was not mentioned in the hotel description. They also gave us complimentary 60 min massage and a free cocktail drink in their bar, which we gladly accepted.
A road is between the hotel and the lake, so not quite on the lake. The hotel is relatively new and the room is nicely styled. The bed is a little too firm and could do with a softer mattress topper. Oddly, you would have expected them to use USB charging points but they only had the 3 pins socket. We had the Lake Front Corner Suite, but we should have just had the Junior Suite as the property is not on the lake and you would be looking at the neighbouring house next door, so you wouldn't ever pull the net curtains to enjoy the view. Also being right by the lake there is more opportunities to be bitten by mosquitoes, so keep the bug spray close. This hotel seems to have a few locals that visit the hotel to have their afternoon tea, so it feels like they are using the place as a place to take photos.
The hotel seems to target Westerners, as the menu seems to be more Western than Vietnamese and the prices reflect that too.
Overall, a nice hotel, friendly staff and peaceful.
- MARK (6/5): - The room was nice and the building had many charms. The staff was friendly and nice, but inefficient. Coffee had to be ordered and took up to 20 minutes. Customer self service would have been much better. We schedule a ride from the airport to the hotel just for convenience, but the driver wasn’t there and we had to use Grab to get to the hotel. That was fine; the Grab cost $8; the airport shuttle $23. But search for our driver at the airport for an hour was quite inconvenient & frustrating. We also book a trip to Ha Loung which also turned out the be a mistake; we paid $89 per person; others on the tour paid less than $60. And because we were picked up first and dropped off last, our bus ride was 2 hours longer
- jonathan (10/5): - Great pool fantastic staff and a very welcome free foot massage
- Enrico (10/5): - If you want a luxury accommodation away from the busy, noisy streets of the Old Quarter this is the place. Oversized, modern rooms and great facilities.
- Cindy (10/5): - Incredible pool, incredible staff my favourite was Dat. He was so helpful so kind and cared so much about the people in the hotel, the breakfast was amazing the best ever for being free, my Room did have a big tree blocking the view of the garden, but the room itself was amazing and comfortable. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.
- Thao (8/5): -
I thoroughly enjoy staying at this hotel. The staff is exceptionally polite and respectful, and we were delighted by the thoughtful welcome drink and relaxing foot massage — a perfect way to unwind after our flight. Our room is clean, modern, and comfortable, and the receptionist was extremely helpful in assisting with our tour bookings. The sauna and steam room were both spacious and well-maintained. However, the body massage fell short of expectations. Despite filling out the spa request form, our masseuses didn't focus on the requested pressure points. Aside from this, everything else was flawless, and we had a wonderful stay.
- SAMEER (10/5): - Amazing place in a very nice neighbourhood
- Ben (10/5): - We loved our time here. The staff are great - a big call out to Chad and the team for making our stay so enjoyable. The staff seem genuinely happy to have you there and go out of their way to help you with recommendations and transport around the city. The hotel is slightly tucked away which was a plus - Grab's are very easy to catch from the doorstep.
The rooftop pool and spa service was great too. We'll be back when we next visit Hanoi
- Hok Man (10/5): - Great welcome from the staff and they are very helpful
- Aleksey (10/5): Beautiful Gem - Service is great and staff is polite!
- Cynthia (10/5): Great hotel on Westlake. - Gorgeous new hotel. Room amenities were wonderful!
- Paul (10/5): - Very well thought out rooms with nice amenities.
- Yong Qin (10/5): - Very good, quiet and beautiful. Feels safe too as it isn’t any rowdy crowd around. Would definitely recommend it. Just a little far from Old Quarter.
- Maithanh (10/5): - Excellent services. Staff are awesome. Property is clean, high tech equipment.
- ANN (10/5): Nice quality boutique hotel - An elegant hotel with very good quality. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean, the bed is firm and comfortable. We’re very satisfied with this hotel and strongly recommend it to people who care about the quality.
- Iain (8/5): - The property was absolutely delightful. Fantastic room with separate sitting area and hot tub.
The staff were all keen to help and very attentive, and we really loved their interactions with us. They could not have been more willing to provide a great sevice.
However staff did not seem to have been trained to a standard warranting a 5 star rating and there appeared to be no hospitality-experienced managerial staff to direct / oversee. As a result, service was slow, multiple people tried to take orders at breakfast, orders were wrong and this reduced our satisfaction with the property.
There was a beautiful store in the hotel, but on at least two occasions during our stay a group of people were using it exclusively to play cards and were smoking there. This is totally unacceptable as the products / shop smelled of smoke afterwards (and I'm a smoker ... and it annoyed me).
I would recommend the hotel employs some senior staff with a proven track record of working in 5 star hotels to up its game a lot.
