There is always a cheap grab taxi 2-3 minutes away for easy access into the city centre. I would definitely stay here again. You also get free coffee when you stay and I must say it was excellent. • Thien (10/5): - I had a very pleasant stay at Golden Star Apartment. The room was clean, well-equipped, and well-maintained. The location is convenient and quiet, yet close to everything I needed. What impressed me the most was the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff. Every request was handled quickly. When a small issue occurred (such as the air conditioner), they responded immediately and even proactively offered to move me to a better room to ensure my comfort — truly thoughtful and respectful service. Check-in and check-out were smooth and straightforward. I felt safe and comfortable, just like being at home. I was very satisfied with my stay and will definitely come back and recommend this place to friends.

Two days before my arrival, the owner sent me two notifications, but when I checked in, the counter said there was no record of my reservation in their system. This is a case of extremely poor management.

The cleaners always cleaned & restock everything so nicely. Rooms are exactly like the photos. Some minor broken facilities - like one of the sliding door & curtain holdback. Water pressure & hot water in the shower was slightly poor. Sink was fine. Noticed a sewage smell only at night. Also felt like the bed was shaking when a truck would drive past the building?

My room smelt of stale cigarette smoke I have asthma so only got 3 hours sleep each night. Coffee bar was out of service. Shower head broken spraying everywhere and flooded bathroom after 1 minute in the shower as the drain was blocked. Not deeply cleaned. Shower was dirty. Walls tatty need painting and some plug sockets loose. Staff smoke outside the property and maybe 100 cigarettes in the ash tray at the entrance table is the first thing you’re greeted with. Could be amazing with some maintenance repairs and deep clean. 2 star by British standards.

• Bradley (10/5): Outside the busy District 1 but so worth the travel. - On arrival there was a system error with our booking and we were transported to the sister hotel and upgraded for free for the inconvenience which was 10/10. Free made coffees available from staff each morning which were delicious. Super spacious and clean rooms, beds very very comfortable, we also were provided with free laundry aswell due to the situation. Quiet and quaint area for a relaxed stay. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Absolutely nothing.

The staff, especially Starf, was incredibly helpful and provided us with excellent recommendations for restaurants in the area. After doing some research, we found that this area is one of the safest in HCMC, with low density and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s designed with Western residents in mind, making it a comfortable and familiar environment. The apartment itself was well-maintained and offered all the amenities we needed for a pleasant stay. We felt safe walking around at night, which added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting HCMC!

• Karla (10/5): COMFORTABLE - Laundry is free. But try to bring your own detergent and fabric conditioner and put them in the laundry basket with your clothes. In case you forgot to bring those, they’d still do your laundry but don’t expect for your clothes to smell nice. They were nice enough to give us a better room (according to them they moved us to a bigger one). The location of the property is way too far from the city center. We ended up using Grab to pay more or less VND90,000 all the time we went to the city. From the International Airport, the Grab costed VND280,000.
