- Martina (7/5): - Great Location close to a lot of good places to eat, old Quarter and lake Airconditioner weak, it was still warm there during these days when it is 36 degrees outside. Bathroom and windows would need a little update
- Rebecca (9/5): Great location Clean and comfortable - Great location in the heart of the Old Quarter ‘hidden ‘ down a little alley 1st room we had on 1st floor was a bit dark and tired We then moved up a floor and the room was great, very comfortable, big bathroom Some of the plugs didn’t work but there was enough that did. Bed and sheets lovely and clean Balcony isn’t great but it was lovely to be able to open the door The hotel has the cutest little dog too!
- Louis (10/5): - Hôte très agréable arrangeant et réactif. Logement au centre de Hanoï mais très calme, étant dans une ruelle profonde on n'entend pas l'effervescence de la capitale
- James (8/5): - Great location, mostly quiet, very functional, very hot water, AC, little balcony. Thanks 🙏

- Ailbe (8/5): - Room and Bathroom was spacious and comfortable. We had a big window with a shutter which blocked out the light and a shared balcony with the room next door.
Location was excellent, right in the thick of the old quarter but also down a quiet alley so it wasn't too loud. Staff were all friendly. Compfy bed, the first we've seen since travelling in SE Asia for a month! Shower was hot, good pressure. Had wardrobe space. Lots of plugs but only 10% of them actually worked, so a lucky dip. The room wasn't dirty but it also wasn't as clean as it could be. It was rather dusty in places. A little rough around the edges but overall a nice place with everything you need. Also no lift so worth considering if you don't want to climb up 3 floors. But personally, not an issue. If you want to come back to your room after 11pm, it's worth noting that you'll need to wake one of the staff by wither whatsapping or ringing the doorbell as they lock the gate at the end of the alley. But they have no problem opening it up for you, we had no issues.

- Parmenter (6/5): Great cheap place for a quick stay. - Location Bathroom / shower was dirty. Had drain flies everywhere. Facilities were run down and the neighbours were noisy of a night.
- Clara (10/5): Cam on - la taille de la chambre, la gentillesse incroyable du personnel, la localisation très centrale et pourtant super calme! Le fait d'avoir un balcon, je reviendrai sans hésiter!

- Tara (6/5): Nice stay in centre of Hanoi - The property is in a great location, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It has all the basics and everything you need for a comfortable stay The location felt a bit uncertain as it’s down a long, dark alley and the reception area could have been cleaner. My bed was also very firm, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. Overall, it’s fine if you’re looking for something simple, but I felt the price was too high for what it offered

- Jacqui (9/5): A centrally-located, comfortable and good value guesthouse which we will visit again!! - It is our third stay at this guesthouse - it is well-located, good value and has all that we need. We will be back!
- Fabio (8/5): -
- Mélanie (6/5): - Extremely well located in the Hanoï old town. People really sympathic and welcoming with a water bottle per person. But... Not so clean, bathroom namely. Following storm, water intéressant by the windows.
- Tomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Álvaro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Von (7/5): Good. - The room itself is very big with high ceilings. Its location is kinda hard to navigate. There were also cockroaches found in the property. The bathroom is not that spacious.
- Madisyn (6/5): Pleasant -
- Phillip (6/5): The stay is only so so. - The location is good and the bed comfortable. There is dead cockroaches in the room from the moment we step into the room. And they only provide drinking water for the first day. For extended stay, it is payable.
- Steve (4/5): Disappointing - Quick easy check-in. Allowed early check in. No street noise. Not as nice as photos!!! Disappointed.
Decor was very tired. Walls & ceilings really need repainting etc.
Stairs not clean.
Room not very clean.
Wall had random paper cover hole!
Plug sockets not working.
Not mentioned that balcony was shared with neighbouring room. Meant locking door for security & privacy. Closing door because neighbours smoking outside. No privacy.
Bed not that comfortable.
Noise from construction in neighbours courtyard property.
- Maewenn (9/5): Superb -
- Iveta (7/5): Good location, but very cold. - Location, close to Old Town. Very cold in the room, no heating available. They recommend to use hair dryer as heating. No soundproof from noise.
- Millie (10/5): Exceptional - Aircon was great!! Bed was comfy. Hosts were welcoming, did our laundry (for a small fee) and delivered it to us. Dog was cute. Big bathroom. Balcony was nice even without view. Was fairly quiet. In a good location, close to water and also silk street. It took us a while to figure out which side street to walk down as the signage for the hotel was on the small street we couldn't find 🤣
- Roly (8/5): pleasant stay in the thick of the hustle and bustle of the old quarter. - I liked the location, which was very central. It is quiet, older-style accommodation, but it had everything you could want. There was a kettle to make tea or coffee, but no cup.
- Jové (9/5): The location is right in the heart of the Old quarter. The room was very comfortable and clean with everything we needed -
- Marc (7/5): Nice place, very good location - Very good location, good price for this Guest House, very friendly Family. I recommend 🙏 If you don't ask not to clean every day
- Marcelletti (9/5): Superb - Everything nice
- Lena (8/5): Good value for money - Super central location
Cheap
No need to be scared of the little alley way that leads to the house, even came back late at night and never encountered any problems Could use some dusting off in parts
The walls are barely walls, you could hear some noise from outside but nothing major
- Naresh (10/5): Peace and tranquility - This place is so good that we stayed there twice and I am reviewing it twice. It is down a really quiet and peaceful alleyway right in the heart of chaotic Hanoi. An absolute haven of peace and tranquility at a very reasonable price. The family that run it are lovely and could not have been more helpful. Nothing not to like
- Naresh (10/5): An oasis of calm in a hectic city - This is a beautifully quiet and peaceful place to stay. It is tucked up a tiny little alleyway off the road so that when you get in there you get absolute tranquility. The family that own it are really pleasant. The room was spacious and clean with a balcony facing onto a small courtyard. Good hot shower was really welcome. The location is perfect as it is in the middle of the old quarter and only a few minutes from both the lake and train street. It was great value for money and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Nothing not to like about this place.
- Sara-jane (9/5): Fantastic stay in great hotel in perfect location - This was our second time staying as we loved it. Great value for money. Staff are lovely. Location is perfect. Very clean. They are available all night so it’s perfect if you have a night bus or similar. Highly recommend! Just to be aware if you have accessibility requirements, there are many stairs and no elevator. The laundry was also questionable both times (bleached sock, a few stains, returned damp, and gained a few extra clothes!) but not sure if it’s done on or offsite. The hotel itself is great though
- Julia (7/5): Basic Hanoi Hotel Cheaper than Chips! - The guesthouse is very centrally located, and as the name suggests, it's hidden from the road up a narrow alley.
It was amazingly cheap, and we just used it as a base before our late night flight home. So we didn't sleep in the room. But it was perfect for our needs. Don't expect anything fancy. It's basic but friendly.
But for the price, what do you expect!?
- Sara-jane (9/5): Great stay on level 5 - It was a great place to stay. Loved the location. Loved the room on level 5. In fact, we loved it so much we are going back! Thanks!
- Helen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Henrietta (8/5): Well positioned, clean room, inexpensive - Tucked down a little alley way it was off the clamor of the Hanoi streets In the public spaces it was pretty grubby but - my room was clean and it was a cheap place and did the job fine
- Sarah (8/5): Great stay - would stay again - Location was great. Very central but because it is located back from the street quite quiet at night. Comfortable bed and decent sized room, staff was very friendly.
- Shawn (10/5): Fantastic place for a low cost! - Excellent place. Has everything you need and the rooms are quite large. Provided water, towels, and soap. Plenty of hot water. Plus a cute dog always greeted me at the entrance. Love this place!
- Elsbeth (7/5): Good -
- Jason (6/5): In city centre - It was in city centre but that really was only plus. It is tucked away through dirty alleyway. The room was ok but tired. Staff were sleeping in reception overnight which was a first for me.
- Darby (10/5): I adored the Doremon painting and the beautiful wood furniture ! - Location was amazing and it was quiet at night. Remember to pay before you check out!
- Niamh (9/5): Great value for money - We found this hotel great value for money. The rooms are nice and big and the shower was lovely and strong. The lady managing the hotel is also very sweet. It is literally hidden from the streets so there is no noise coming in from the outside. The walls between rooms are a little thin, so you can hear other guests in the guesthouse if they are loud, but this was not a big deal for us.
- Charasa (5/5): Passable -
- 文松 (8/5): Very good - receptionist were so kind.
- Nisa (8/5): Very good - It truly is a hidden guesthouse, but nicely located in Old Quarter which means it is easy to get around by foot. The Hoan Kiem river is just a few mins walk and at night, you can easily get to the streets of night market, "party street" etc. Because it was cold, no aircond was needed (not sure if there is heater though), but it was a good stay
PS, highly recommend to book a pick up from airport with them as Grab is hard to get upon arrival and taxi costs a lot, about 500k dong
- Jezeree (9/5): Lovely! - The location is very central! The room is huge with a balcony and private bathroom. Wi-Fi is very high speed. The family is very helpful too, they are always there ready to help. 🌟🌟🌟 The only downside is it gets cold at night, especially during winter season. But everything else is excellent!
- Toib (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, the room was big and had a balcony and a Big bathroom. the bed was super comfortable we had a perfect sleep. The staff was also super kind
- Michael (10/5): Great guest house right in the middle of the attractions, but quiet. - Everything, authentic accommodation in the heart of the old quarter, staff were pleasant and friendly and very helpful especially Didi who shone like a star!! We enjoyed the stay, wonderful , nice and quiet too. Nothing
- Lasse (9/5): Superb -
- Hung (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): 友善人員 - 人員十分友好且和善,是像民宿般的住宅,乾淨度也有,冬天去的話,熱水較快就沒了。
- Ollie (1/5): Shoddy and overpriced! - I didn’t like anything about the property. The photos were very misleading as were some of the reviews. Located at the end of a dark dodgy alley. The hotel was shoddy and dirty and desperately needs a good makeover. Rising damp in our bedroom and a broken shower. The staff made no attempt to explain how to activate the hot water and no signage was visible in the room so I didn’t even bother having one. Value for money? Absolutely not. In my opinion, the hidden guest house isn’t worth finding!
- Fiona (8/5): Lovely staff, quiet location in old quarter - Quiet location off the street, easy to walk to hoan kiem lake, luckily we stayed over the weekend which was closed off to vehicles so a much more relaxed feel when not having to navigate the busy roads with all of that crazy traffic....and constant car and scooter horns. The hustle and bustle and noise of hanoi, but then I don't like cities, so any city would have made me feel the same. Sometimes it has to be done though, for the experience.
- Zsuzsanna (9/5): Lovely Homestay - Great location, truly hidden quiet room in the middle of the old quarter.
The shower is very good, hot water, good pressure.
- Vivien (8/5): Excellent location but in a quiet alley - A great location but in a quiet alley. Traditional room with high ceiling & balcony. Good fan & air conditioning & comfortable bed. There aren’t enough places to leave your clothes. The reception area could be more welcoming.
- Mareike (10/5): Best budget place to stay in Old Quarter and still enjoy some quiet - This place is amazing! Located in the best part of the old town, it is still hidden away in a quiet side street. It is an old house with a lot of charme. The beds are really comfy too and the little balcony is intreaging. But the best is part is the staff: Didi was such a big help and the friendliest person I have met in Vietnam. I would come back any time. Thank you so much for having us! :) The house is old and has some stains etc. But that is part of the charme:) also, for the price it is still such a bargain!
- Alise (8/5): Very good - There was everything what you need. Perfect location.
- Jacqui (9/5): A comfortable and well-located guesthouse run by a lovely family - We have been back to this guest house a couple of times. The family are very friendly and easy going, and it’s comfortable, clean and well-situated. Our room was a good size, and being out of season the rates were particularly good.
- Chris (9/5): Hidden Value! to - So, it is called the "Hidden Guesthouse" and lives up to its name - popping up in a small square, down a little alleyway -but suddenly you're in a charming family run guesthouse in which a beautiful winding wooden staircase takes you upstairs to large, well appointed, clean and really comfortable rooms. All together a very happy experience. Leaving Hanoi!
- Asta (9/5): Superb -
- Fimala (9/5): The best budget accomodation - The staff were very helpful, and the location is close to the lake. The room was cozy, making for a comfortable stay. It was my first time visiting Hanoi, and they made our trip much easier. You can rent motorbikes or book a bus to Ninh Binh just by asking the staff. The prices for all services were also very reasonable.
- Betty (7/5): Good -
- Jen (9/5): Superb - Beautiful old wooden house near the Old Quarter and lake and not far to the Temple of Literature and Koto restaurant. Friendly helpful staff and very clean and comfortable accommodation with aircon. It is truly hidden away in a small street and down a dark little alleyway, but the staff come out to show you the way if you catch their shuttle. It is fairly quiet being off the street. The access down alleyway was quite dingy but thats a fairly minor thing. Making travel arrangements was a very long process, even booking a taxi. Harley is the only one who can speak English well. So Google translate was needed, but the staff did do their best to help.
- Betty (9/5): Superb -
- Jc (8/5): Very good - Quiet neighborhood. Friendly staff. Big room and comfy bed. Big private bathroom. Strong wifi, TV and fridge. Balcony and city view. No elevator access and we are in the 3rd floor.
- Richard (7/5): Decent place but choose room with caution, previous reviews a bit generous. - Nice staff, helpful and accommodating. And yes, it is peaceful despite the excellent, busy location. Room not up to scratch, was underwhelmed given previous reviews. Bit under-maintained and window nailed shut so couldnt get to shutters which were closed so not much natural light. Got moved to room at top with huge windows. Was great but neon strip lighting and felt a bit like an office (furniture, doors etc) so wouldnt recommend for a romantic trip. Perfect for watching a storm though.
- Lauren (7/5): Good -
- Sergio (9/5): Superb - It is just in the centre of Hanoi, perfect to go walking everywhere. Also, the workers are very nice and help a lot, and the room was very big, comfortable and with AC.
- Foysal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Riley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Minh (10/5): Exceptional - THe motel in the alley is very quiet comtable, friendly staff willcome back next time
- Alice (8/5): Very good -
- Jonathan (9/5): Hidden gem - Loved its location. It was bang in the middle of the Old Quarter, near the lake and Beer Street, but down a quiet alley so weren't disturbed by noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy, and shower and fridge really good. Loved the old skool style of the place. TV couldn't get channels but that's very minor issue. Balcony just looked into neighbouring buildings, rather than courtyard at front.
- Chan (6/5): Pleasant - Location is good, but I stay on the 5th floor which is hard for me to carry the bag up there. At night time, you have to ring the bell. The stair
