- Leah (9/5): Very nice experience! Would stay again 🙂 - A very nice little place run by lovely people! The location in a quiet side street is perfect and once on the street there are numerous cafes and eateries, all in easy walking distance. A very cool local neighborhood with few tourists.
Room was small but comfortable. Great shower and TV. Water and ice are always available which was perfect because it was so hot! Breakfast is simple, toast and eggs and they serve excellent coffee! The cats and dog are very cute. Staff were very helpful 😌 The cleaning was not the best. If you are a light sleeper you might need earplugs as the family opposite are up very early, 5.45am and washing dishes outside, cooking and doing DIY!

- Hanna (9/5): Cosy! - Lovely room, very bright and very comfortable. Massive TV was also great. Plus points for the cute cats and doggo! Location was also nice, many cafes , bars and local food around and nearby.

- Mara (9/5): - The Staff was very nice and helped me in many ways. Also the atmosphere in the hostel is quite nice and you can enjoy some very good coffee there! And another bonus is that they have the cutest dog and cats The bathroom could get cleaned a little more :)

- Hannah (10/5): Nice accommodation - My favourite hostel in HCMC. It feels like a home not a hostel.
The beds are so comfortable and I slept so well!
Theres a little cafe in the ground floor, which is really convenient to have coffee in the morning. Breakfast is also included.
The area is super nice and chill and not touristy at all.
Good wifi and places to work.

I’m staying in the female dorm, and even though it’s small (only 4 beds), it’s incredibly well-organized and thoughtfully designed. There’s enough space for everyone’s belongings, lockers are provided, and the bathroom is right inside the dorm — which is super convenient. Most importantly, everything is very clean. Towels are also provided, which is a lovely bonus.
The atmosphere here is truly pleasant and cozy. There are two cats and a dog living in the hostel, and they are unbelievably cute — they make the place feel like home 🐾
The dorm has both AC and a fan, so you can choose what’s comfortable for you. There’s also a full-size mirror right outside the female dorm, which is super helpful!
Security is excellent: you get your own personal door code for the duration of your stay, so no strangers can enter. As a solo female traveler, I really appreciate that.
The staff and the owner are incredibly kind, helpful, and speak good English, so communication is easy. They really make you feel welcome. You can also use a hot water kettle anytime, or buy very good quality coffee downstairs.
Another big plus: there’s workspace on each floor outside the dorms with tables and chairs, which makes it easy to work outside your room.
Overall, this place has such a warm, safe, and friendly vibe. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City! ❤
P.S.: forgot to mention the location which is also great with everything you might need just steps away 🙌

- Spandan (9/5): Superb - Great value for money. The private room is really good and the staff is really helpful.
- Matias (9/5): Beautiful little stay with lovely stuff and coffee - We stayed in the double room and it was perfect size and super comfortable. Staff were the highlight of the stay, they are super friendly and take care of you all the time. If you are coffee addict this little place its perfect for you. Location it’s perfect as you are not in the middle of the city but you are a few minutes away from it. Also there is many cafes and restaurants just a few steps around. I won’t recommend staying here if you don’t like pets, specially cats as there is two and their little hairs are everywhere (common areas only).
For us it wasn’t a problem even though my partner is allergic to cats.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - We felt so comfortable and nice here. The staff is very nice and helpful. They could come and clean the bathroom time to time.
- Hayana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - The dorm room was nice and clean and quiet.
The staff were really happy.
There were a couple of marts nearby where you could pay with a card. There were some really good street food options. .
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - The whole experience was nice. The room was clean and bright. The location was great. Nice places around.
A quiet location though. .

- Jacob (9/5): A quaint hostel with character in droves. Would definitely stay again, 100% - I stayed in January, so this review is a little late. First off,
GREAT staff - thank you to the amazing hosts. i have forgotten their names, my apologies, but they made sure I got checked in ok, gave great recommendations for nearby and went above and beyond in making me feel welcome and included. For example, a couple of longer stayers to the dorm were leaving and there was a dinner party to celebrate with great vibes from all. I made contacts with whom I'm still in touch.
The vibe - This is a social hostel (at least when I was there) and I met some really sweet people. I'd say this is a great beginners hostel or one for if you're not a massive partier, but wouldn't mind going out. The best hostel I've stayed in I think, so far.
Great location - outside of hyper/massive - tourist areas but in an interesting area where a large explant/expat/migrant population is so there's an interest melting pot of cultures.
Rooms - clean, love the wood, GOOD lightproofing/curtains/shades, comfy bed, solid air conditioning. My only issue is the toilet/shower/sink combo which was well loved but meh to each their own
Cafe - downstairs is vibey. There are plenty around
Animals - adorable
Breakfast - solid. Love some eggs and PB toast Bathrooms. That's it really.
- Manuela (10/5): The best place to stay in Saigon! - The beds are super comfortable, is pretty easy to meet people. The hostel is located in a very quiet little street, is so peaceful!
The bathroom in the dorm could be a little bit cleaner

- Stokoff (8/5): Very good - We stayed in a private double room, which was spacious enough and clean. One of the staff members was very friendly, always greeting us with a warm smile and friendly small talk. The coffee area downstairs is a bit unclear to me. It is mostly an unused area without any guests. The vibe downstairs felt a bit weird somehow, but not too bad either. What bothered us, was the breakfast (we booked breakfast included). They provide toast, peanut butter and jam as well as bananas and hard boiled eggs. That’s it, not even coffee. I think it’s a nice gesture but nothing I would advertise as “breakfast included” really.
- Sergio (8/5): Very good - Bed quality was good.
Location was peaceful.
Very clean. The breakfast is not very special, you mainky do yourself some toasts with jam, or banana, or boiled eggs.
- Anna (10/5): Best place to stay - Amazing place! Home vibe, so comfortable, all is perfect! Coffee is tasty) -
- Cody (9/5): Superb - Wonderful place, very beautiful and cozy, great private room and good coffee. Loved the dog! Quite a bit of mould on the bathroom roof :(
- Pham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Taylor (10/5): - Very friendly staff, comfy and private beds, amazing neighborhood with lots to eat and drink!
- Mickaela (10/5): My favorite accommodation my entire trip - The hostel was very modern and clean. It's located in an alley (which doesn't have the negative connotation it does in the U.S. In Vietnam, businesses are often in alleys). I was honestly surprised by how intimate the setting was. I was in the single room on the first floor as I was advised to have since I had a lot of heavy luggage from shopping and the hotel didn't have an elevator. Only a little bit of stairs to climb. Also, I left something in Hoi An and asked if I could have it shipped there (and this was before I even checked in and arrived) and they said yes and happily took care of it until I arrived. Everyone was nice and super responsive. There are pets but they are trained and not unruly, and they are small. I stayed in the single room, so it was a breeze. I heard the dorm was small. Maybe the lack of elevator, but it was a minor inconvenience.
- Christopher (9/5): Great little cosy hostel, with loads of charm and comfy beds - Great little cosy hostels, away from the madness of the city but only 15 mins into the centre
The staff are great, they waited up till late after my bus was delayed to check me in !
Comfy and quiet rooms. Cute dog and cats As other reviews have said the majority of the clientele seem to be students living there permanently not that’s it’s a bad thing as they’re very clean but they’re not always the most social.
Maybe a few social activities to get people talking would help
- Viet (9/5): I had a great and memorable time here. Would recommend! - I like the overall atmosphere of the place. It's cozy, quiet, neat and feels like home. Staffs are friendly, there is a shiba inu, and 2 cats. Visitors in the dorm are generally friendly and respectful towards each other and to the common area. You are provided with a comfy mattress, a big pillow, a warm blanket, a towel and a locker. There is a cafe shop on the 1st floor with decent drinks and atmosphere. Be aware that since it is a dorm, amenities are not fully included. Do prepare your own hygiene products like shampoo, conditioner. The road leading to the dorm is not big enough for a car, as well as a little bit small dorm room so make sure you travel light. Breakfast is included but is pretty basic stuffs like cereal and toasts; there are also milk, boiled eggs and bananas!
- Eleanor (10/5): Really great place to stay in Ho Chi Minh. Would recommend to anyone! Great value for money. - Very clean and staff were super friendly and helpful. Amazing value for money.
- Anan (10/5): Exceptional - Actually, everything. -
- Tegan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dini (10/5): Exceptional - If you’re solo traveler looking for a comfy place to stay in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Half Cafe & Dorm won’t disappoint. The atmosphere is super homey, and the highlight? Adorable cats and dogs that make your stay even more enjoyable! The dorms are clean, cozy, and perfect for relaxing. Plus, the café downstairs is a great spot to chill or get some work done with a nice cup of coffee. The staff is friendly, making you feel right at home. If you love animals and want a warm, welcoming place, this is the spot for you!
- Jobin (10/5): Exceptional - Love everything, the staff is so kind and helpful, a little far from the central of the city but still close. clean room and comfortable bed!
- Dana (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely staff, great vibe - really clean, neat and fun place. It's really a cut above any other hostels I've stayed in HCMC.
- Viktar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tín (9/5): Superb -
- Hà (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr (9/5): Superb - Amazing location some cool bars around much less touristy than centre Pets were v cute
- Marine (10/5): Bonne auberge à un bon prix - I only stayed one night in Ho Chi Minh for transit but I was happy with my choice of accommodation.
The room was clean and confortable and the owner/staff was lovely.
She even helped book me a moto taxi.
For that price I couldn't have asked for more and I would definitely come back 😊
- Ichun (9/5): Good value for short term stay - Locatin is easy to assist with cafe/ restaurants Cleaning is not 100%
- Kris (8/5): Nice very small hostel - Owners and staff are lovely Rooms very small
- Thy (9/5): Worth the money, will be back to visit Mochi, Lai and Gasby - Staff and the owner are friendly. Me and the onwer lady talked much about pet. Mochi is a super hyper Shiba, Gasby is quiet boy, Lai is vocalist, I let him sneak in my room a bit after he said good morning meow in front of the door and had small talk every night before bed time. I like the TV, but it's huge in the room :) Nothing
- Hoa (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy, private dorm, simple breakfast ( toast, banana, boiled eggs, milk, granola) I love it
I love the smell every time I entered the room.
I’d be back Nothing
- Nakajima (9/5): Superb - Good atmosphere. Clean and cozy bedroom. Lovely cats and dog❤️ Taxi cannot come right in front of the hostel as it is located in narrow passage.
- Meta (8/5): Lovely little space in Saigon, just outside of District 1 - This is a cute little place in the middle of a local area. I was there for work and it was very close to the place I needed to go. Every morning when I walk out, I get a taste of the true local Saigon life. I can say that the surrounding was the highlight of staying here for me.
The people who own and manage the place are all very very kind and helpful. The hostel has a little doggy and two cats. So, if you love the furry ones, this is perfect for you.
Room was nice. Small but also has enough space. And I appreciate the simple breakfast included. Not a negative comment. But just a reminder that the place might not be suitable if you’re allergic to cats or dogs as they shed their furs. May also not be suitable for the same reason if you’re pregnant :).
- Angela (10/5): Perfect - Convenient location, kind staff and cute pets. Highly recommend!
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - Very friendly staff! Small rooms with 4 beds. Each bed has curtains, a little lamp, power point for your phone and a locker.
I loved the location, it is not as busy as district 1 but really lively with many (vegetarian) restaurants and coffee shops close by. You can easily walk to the district 1 in 15-20 minutes or take a Grab for a small amount of money.
- Hiroki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ichun (9/5): Superb -
- Ichun (9/5): Superb -
- Mgl馬雞牛 (9/5): Superb - came back here over 8 times, felt cozy all the time
- Trang (9/5): Overall good value - My first time staying at a dorm. The wooden design of the facility makes it very comfy. Bed was also comfy. There were cute and friendly cats and a shiba inu. There are only 4 beds in one room which makes my stay easier. There is common area outside that you can use to avoid disturbing other guests. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner :(
- Milek (10/5): Fantastic would stay again. Great staff, location, coffee, pets and AC - Lovely staff. Cool pets to hang with. Very cool and modern renovation. Icy cold AC. Delicious coffee. Perfect location. Do urself a favour and stay here :) Nothing
- Tran (10/5): Pet-friendly wonderful accommodation in a great location - I love the vibe there. The girl at the reception is so lovely, she let me check in early without question, no extra fee.
And she really make sure the guest feel comfortable and have everything they need.
The cats are adorable, friendly. The dog is also cute, like to play.
Each floor has a working area with spacey desk, good light and chair. They even have a big standing mirror in front of the lady dorm. What a thoughtful host!
There is one common kitchen on the 3rd floor that you can use, with big frigde, stove, cooking utensils and a sink.
Oh and they provide yummy breakfast. Love it!
- Robin (10/5): awesome - Great place. Bus not too far away.
- Wally (10/5): Tuyệt - Pets - Cereals breakfast Dogs outside alley, pretty scared at night
