- Karina (8/5): Manage expectations with late check ins. Check on smokers in premises. - As we have stayed not long ago here, we really enjoyed the location. They did took into account that I mentioned their score would be higher with some warmer food as breakfast. They did add a pancake machine, plus a toaster for bread and bagels. So that was a very nice add on in a short amount of time from when we first came to this 2nd time. We are still undecided to recommend the hotel for our friends and family that'd like to enjoy downtown without the need of a car, because in fall we are having our wedding in Ottawa. The room we got assigned this time, the marihuana was stinking through our door. They should not allow smokers in premises. Another note: when we arrived, we put our checking time was between 11pm-midnight. And the staff locks the entrance door "due to security reasons". They should let us know this beforehand because we were waiting outside and there was not a single person in the reception. Later this lady came out of the elevators, she walked pass the entrance not acknowledging us. We had to call, then we saw she ran to the phone and rudely just yeah ok us. Came to open the door, wasn't welcoming AT ALL, when I tried to ask if the door was lock, since we couldn't push it. The check in with her was also not great.

- Martina (10/5): This hotel is perfect for your downtown stay with everything you need - This hotel is old but refurbished and it surprises you. We had a king suite with balcony- tidy space with everything you need- the bed & pillows were super comfortable, the balcony was like another room which is great if u eat in. The breakfast was continental but v adequate. The space given over to communal areas has to be commended- a quiet room, a games room/ sitting area, a sofa next to a gas fireplace, a fantastic laundry room for free with washing machines and dryers, and free luggage storage lockers. Really impressive. No phone in room ( guess it’s a move with the times but I had someone trying to make contact and my Canadian sim didn’t accept calls)- a small thing really; and lack of sockets and no usb.

Nous sommes arrivés en train et puis métro depuis Montréal et ensuite nous n'avons eu que quelques minutes de marche à faire avec nos valises pour arriver à l'hôtel. La chambre avec la cuisine ainsi que la salle de bain étaient impeccablement propres. Pour le jour du départ, les casiers pour les valises ainsi que le petit salon et les toilettes au -1 sont très pratiques. L'insonorisation entre les chambres ainsi qu'entre la chambre et le couloir était vraiment moyenne. Nous entendions l'ascenseur, les discussions dans le couloir mais aussi le sèche cheveux de la chambre d'à coté comme s'ils étaient dans la notre. La qualité de la literie était sans plus. Dommage également que notre chambre (sans balcon) donnait sur l'arrière du bâtiment où le vis à vis avec les autres bâtiment était bien présent. Le petit déjeuner nous a étonné dans le sens négatif du terme. Tout était industriel et la vaisselle était jetable. On a trouvé cela un peu dérangeant. A notre surprise lors du Check-out, on nous annonce des consommations au magasin de l'hôtel que nous n'avons pas réalisé... nous n'avons pas compris d'où venait cette erreur.

- Jan (9/5): - Prachtig hotel, mooie kamer met een comfortabel bed en een complete keuken. Bagage kluizen zijn ook erg handig. Het hotel ligt midden in de stad, dus ik keek uit op de airconditioning uits van het kantoorpand aan de achterkant. Daar valt uiteraard weinig aan te doen. Het ontbijt was oké, maar niet bijzonder.

- Misha Michelle (9/5): Overall pleasant stay, I would come back - The rooms are spacious, well laid out, and not cramped at all. Everything was very clean, and I appreciated having a kitchenette with basic appliances—definitely a great option for longer stays. I also liked that the hotel seems environmentally conscious. They use eco-friendly cleaning products for both the bath and kitchen areas, and the absence of an on-site restaurant suggests they’re mindful about reducing waste. The air conditioning runs on an automatic reset timer that guests can’t control. While I understand this is likely for energy conservation, the intervals were quite long, and the room would become noticeably warm and stuffy in between cycles, especially since there’s no other ventilation. Additionally, the “breakfast included” offering should be more clearly described. It consists of dry items only, with no hot options like eggs or other protein. Labeling it as a “no hot breakfast” would help set clearer expectations.There was also a small hiccup with housekeeping—when we returned to pack and check out (we had a late checkout), the cleaning staff had already started servicing the room and seemed inconvenienced when asked to step out. It appeared there may have been a communication gap with the front desk. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would consider staying here again.

Attention: ne vous stationnez pas sur la rue en face de l'hôtel, le remorquage de votre voiture est presque assuré !

- Myriem (9/5): Excellent hôtel, personnel exceptionnel ! - L'établissement est très agréable et le personnel exceptionnel, souriant, disponible, aimable et et très réactif et efficace. Le logement était très propre, la literie impeccable et la cuisine équipée de tout ce dont vous pouvez avoir besoin . L'hôtel est paisible et calme. Les espaces communs sont très bien aménagés et très conviviaux.

- Heather (9/5): Clean rooms, friendly staff, an enjoyable stay! - The location was excellent, a few minutes walk from Parliament Hill. It also has a very accessible O-train station (Parliament) meaning you can go direct from the VIA Rail station. The staff on reception were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in slightly early and letting us leave our bag in the lockers upon check-out (there is a free locker system where you can choose your own lock code). The room was incredibly spacious with a full kitchen. The entire room was clean and all additional toiletries were available. The bed was very comfortable. I think the continental breakfast could have been improved. It was included in the price but was served on paper plates with cardboard cutlery. I would say it was effective if you wanted to "grab and go" but for those that wanted to sit down, it would have been nice to have proper crockery. There is no hot food, other than a pancake maker and a toaster. I'm not sure if all the rooms contain kitchens but possibly. We didn't need a kitchen and so would have liked to book a room without a kitchen for a lower price. Finally, the view from our room overlooked an office block. No issues except it's not very private.

Tem uma cozinha dentro do quarto com fogão, geladeira, panelas, etc. O que foi uma surpresa positiva. Silencioso. Existe uma pequena lojinha no andar de baixo com algumas coisinhas para comer. O café da manhã é quase que uma pequena cortesia, pois as opções são muito limitadas. Algumas quitudes, frutas e café.

- Courtney (7/5): - Staff were so helpful and friendly, the location was superb, I liked that there was a bath, and that there were some thoughtful additions like an extension cord. Generally, the room felt very spacious. It’s moreso a bachelor suite and less so a hotel room. Two things, it would of been amazing if there was toothpaste in the included with the rest of the toiletries, or even for sale. The other thing is that there isn’t a kettle, I poured a hot water for a tea from the keurig and it came out beige and smelled like coffee.

- Fatema (8/5): Fab location and nice room - Another lovely stay! The Arlo has a fantastic location and a really nice room setup. It suited our birthday trip perfectly and made getting around Ottawa easy. Overall, a great experience and one I’d happily recommend.
