Guest Reviews
- Monika (9/5): - Location, staff, glamping tent Showers a bit further but wasn't big of a deal at the end.
- Ehsan (4/5): - We stayed here for 3 nights during a long weekend and paid $700 for a Trapper’s tent accommodation (family of four with two small children). Unfortunately, our experience did not match the price or expectations.
The first major issue was the heating system and policy. The first night was extremely cold, and the heater provided was very small and produced a smoky smell. We informed staff the next day and they replaced it with a slightly larger oil heater. We were told it would last around 10 hours, and we were also told that someone would come later in the evening to refill it due to the cold weather.
However, no one came. When we called around 10 PM requesting a refill, we were told that refills are only done once per day and that they cannot refill anymore! This was frustrating because we had been told something different earlier. When we explained the situation, the response we received felt dismissive, as if we were not being believed. After asking to speak with a manager, we were told the heater could be refilled but with a $50 charge, which felt unreasonable given the circumstances. Eventually, after a stressful conversation, the heater was refilled, but the experience significantly affected our stay.
The central washroom/shower building was closed twice per day for approximately 2.5 hours each time for cleaning. While cleanliness is appreciated, extended closures like this are difficult for guests, especially families.
We also found that many basic items were priced unusually high. For example, renting a small empty water tank was $5 per night, and renting a $30 camp chair was $10 per night! Even items in the small store appeared significantly overpriced compared to regular retail pricing.
This place may work for some guests, but for us, the combination of cold nights, disrespectful behavior, unclear policies, and high extra fees made it hard to enjoy the trip.

There were towels and wireless chargers on both sides of the bed provided by Sundance. Heater worked good. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Nice getaway from the city. None

Cozy, peaceful, comfortable.
We will visit again in the future. We can't cook inside, but we already know that.
So not a big deal.
- Olena (10/5): The most beautiful camping place I’ve ever been to! - Very clean, comfortable, and beautiful tents. It was warm and cozy at night. The area is lovely, with lots of trees and good distance between neighboring tents. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The shower and toilet with a sink are a bit far from the tent, but it’s not a big problem.

- Sharmin (9/5): My time at Sundance by Basecamp was exactly what I needed to be feel grounded and reconnected with myself. - It is beautifully nestled in the Rockies. Conveniently off the highway but enough privacy not to be bothered by noise from the road.
Well marked, had nice amenities such as hot showers and flush toilets. Glamping tent had the comfiest bed and the propane heater kept me warm and toasty while it was snowing outside. Had all I needed to stay quiet and peaceful. The staffs are amazing! Abby is someone you can be friends with easily. She is knowledgeable and hard working. Both Christina and Abby were Very helpful and accommodating. I thought extending checkin and checkout time cost was a little steep. It could be individual $20 each which is okay but could be also a bundle for both at $30 (more reasonable)

- Alistair (9/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return. - The location was quiet and private, just what we needed. Lovely walks along the river with our dog. The shower facilities were tight, and needed a bit of a freshen up. It felt that there weren’t enough showers for the number of guests on the site, especially in the mornings. This was our only gripe.
- Chiharu (8/5): -
- Lior (8/5): -
- Brianna (10/5): - Is was clean inside and outside the tipi plus the staff was very kind!

- Ian (7/5): Tent a bit pricey but the csmpgrounf is well kept. - Appreciated the covered deck for cooking / eating. A little pricey for a tent with a sleeping mattress, but appreciated getting something in the park at the last minute.
- Margie (10/5): - It was very noisy at night due to being close to the highway 😟you can’t move the hiway but perhaps just telling people to expect that and also people seemed to
Be driving thru the campground all
Hours of the night - no loud party kind of noise -
- Nolan (8/5): - Great experience
- Nikki (10/5): - Enjoyed glamping. Nature plus comfort.
- zenon (10/5): - Loved the setup
- Sorhayda (8/5): - The place is beautiful, i would definitely return. The only downside on our overnight stay was the heater would not turn on and for some reason the firewood would not keep burning. We have to restart it every like 15mins.
- Nadine (4/5): - Booked through Expedia but the campsite itself didn’t book the correct campsite. Our campsite was supposed to fit 6 people they had us in a tipi. Ended up giving us 2 side by side tents on a walk in site.
- Samantha (10/5): - Great experience
- Macy (10/5): - The Tipee was a really fun experience. We called ahead to reserve our bedding (accommodations do not come with bedding, it’s an extra fee) and they had it ready and waiting for us. The lantern they let us borrow to get around was not very helpful but it was a thoughtful touch. The heater helped keep us warm! The staff was very helpful and was ready to help when we needed it. The market had reasonable prices so if you forget anything you’ll be able to pick it up!
- Pat (8/5): - We enjoyed the canvas tent glamping experience. It was clean and very nicely appointed.
- RKWONG (10/5): - Well equipped glamping and central facilities with mini store, BBQ materials, hot shower room and clean toilet. Surprisingly there is wireless, USB type c and a chargers in the tent. The staffs are very friendly and polite. Everything is good
- Tom Joseph (8/5): -
- Alda (10/5): The staff was very helpful when I did request to change from a tipi to the trapper’s tent. -
- H (8/5): - Tents well spaced out. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and cosy glamping tent. Dirty outhouse - so when toilets/showers closed which was for two and a half hours - no clean loo to use. Heater an absolute pain. We were told heater might be difficult as end of season - think it needed a clean which might have solved it? Staff had to turn it on for us. V strong kerasene smell when turning on or off so had air tent for a bit before entering. Limited fuel so if cold day and you put heater on in the pm (they said we were rationed to only 10 hours of fuel a day) you would have no heat in the morning. We conserved our heat and turned off heater at night but then it would not turn on again in morning. Office not open until 9 so froze in 6 degrees. Left site to get warm - returned at 1200 and office shut. Second night shown how to disassemble heater in order to light it - big cloud of soot but this time we left it on from evening onwards and it stayed lit all night. Spoke to staff afterwards who said the out of hours number is okay to ring during the night for help with heater which we didn’t realise! Still - it was a pain. Shower block spotless but outdated.
- Myrna (10/5): - Staff were friendly, showers hot and clean, tents were a fun change for camping.
- Robert (5/5): -
- juan rodney (10/5): - I like he set up of the tents and is was quite.the only issue we had is the heater, we followed the instructions written but still we cant make it work, good thing some staff help us light it up.
- Rebecca (8/5): - The Glamping tent we rented was awesome! The bed was so cozy and we loved the covered cooking area and counters! I did notice spiderwebs in the antler chandelier when we arrived, so it would be good for the cleaning crew to dust those. The kerosene heater worked against itself a bit. Because its smelly and bad to breath in we had to ventilate the tent by opening the zipper windows slightly. So the tent didnt get as warm as it could have. The second night there were people playing music and laughing till midnight which kept us awake so both my husband and I had a poor nights sleep that night. You can hear the highway traffic so if you prefer no sounds like this a further from the highway location would be preferable.
Besides these couple of things, overall our stay was very enjoyable and we will likely be back again!
- SANJEEV (10/5): - Clean room, free hot showers and helpful staff!
- Andrew (10/5): - The staff here were very helpful
- Carrie (8/5): -
- Jackson (4/5): -
- Robert Leigh (9/5): -
- AJ0077 (8/5): Good glamping stay - comfortable family tent. - Good beds and linen.
- Derek (10/5): - Cool experience
- Barbara (10/5): - Beautiful area, great views.
- Azhar (10/5): - Property is absolutely stunning surrounded by beautiful scenery. Abbey on the front desk is extremely helpful. They let me park my car for a few hours when I went for a cycling. They’re very helpful people. I highly recommend this place if you wanna get away from crowded situations like Banff and other areas which are overpopulated this is a perfect paradise.
- Madison (10/5): - It was very cool to sleep in a tipi! Quite cozy and warm with the gas fire place. Lovely washrooms near by with warm showers and everything!
- silvia (8/5): Nice option to change the normal camping - Nice location and nice kind of hotel room.
- yun (6/5): Good campsites, but bring your own lighters - Room is very clean, outhouse is beyond expectations, main bathroom and showers are super clean.
The only problem is the tent is extremely cold. We didn’t know they don’t have a lighter or matches ready for us in the room. My friend and I don’t smoke, so we don’t have a lighter. We arrived at the property after 9pm. The office was closed, and everyone was asleep. So we have no way to light up the fire for our fireplace. It was freezing.
But if I bring the lighter next time, I will still come back to this place. It’s very well maintained and cleaned
- Tom (10/5): - Recommend eating at golf course
- Ugo (9/5): -
- Leanne (8/5): -
- Eve (8/5): -
- Kemna (7/5): Fun and unique accomodation, for a life time memory. - Super cool and spacious tent!
We had some issues with the site number, some confusion but all sorted by the staff onsite.
Team members on call 24/7!
- 박 (8/5): -
- Rita (10/5): - I didn’t like the fumes from the kerosene heater. The heater should be vented to the outside.
I feel that signage could be improved. It is easy to miss the first loop. Our site was 65 and we missed the first turn and ended up driving the entire loop.
Further to that issue - there should be a sign at the entry point to sites 65, 66 etc. to indicate that theses sites are private and not an access point to the River - especially at the River itself. After people were leaving the river to access the main road, they traipsed through our camp site with no respect for our private space.
I found the staff very polite and helpful. When I bought some wood the young man took it to my vehicle. When my tire was low, the girls helped me get the tire pressure back to normal. I always felt supported.
- Vansh (10/5): - Very unique experience, property is great and all the facilities are provided. Best Glamping site from my experience
- ALEX (10/5): - It was a great 2 night stay. Lots of spots but each spot is private like you were there just with your family. Washroom and shower facilities were clean and great. They even have a store with items you can buy incase you forgot something
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Dušan (7/5): Prijetna izkusnja, ampak …. - Lokacija v naravi. Da je verjetno nekje v drobnem tisku napisano, da je za posteljnino potrebno dodatno placilo!
- Megan (10/5): Beautiful and unique experience - Amazing location! Each tent feels secluded and private. Beautiful location and an amazing experience.
- janmeet (10/5): -
- kaila (8/5): - We stayed in a trapper tent and it was nice. We enjoyed how quiet and clean the area was. The only issue we had was the kerosene heater did not light properly and gassed out the tent, it was close to the office closing and I sent my teens to run to the office to get help and they refused to open the door and talk to them even though they were waving their arms and clearly in distress. We had to evacuate our tent and wait hours for the smell to dissipate holding a sleeping toddler because the staff did not respond to us or provide any kind of help with the heater. It was a very long name cold night following.
- Jade (10/5): - The kids really enjoyed the camping experience it was easy for a family to have a weekend in the mountains
- Sabrina (9/5): - It was a great experience camping in the middle of the forest, lovely to have the firepit and picnic table The eco toilets were impossible to use, the smell was terrible
- Isabelle (10/5): -
- steven (8/5): - Fun family oriented campground. Teepees were awesome.
Bathrooms could be kept cleaner but overall not bad.
