- John (10/5): Best inn we have stayed in, - The Victorian house was obviously meticulously restored, and decorated with a modern aesthetic. Bed, bedding and bathroom were luxurious. It is a contactless check in, so we never met the owners or any staff. Nothing.
- Ginny (10/5): Beautifully renovated modern character Inn. - Beautifully renovated period property. Still with plenty of character but a definite modern clean feel. The little kitchenette on each floor was a real bonus. The breakfast set out as a full continental but with plenty of extras, cold meat, cheese, scrambled eggs etc.Bathroom was clean and modern with nice finishes and the bed super comfortable. it would have been nice to have more information in the room about the local area, where to eat etc but I know they are working on that! Laura was very helpful and a wonderful host.
- Dugald (10/5): We didn't want to leave! - The house was lovely - from the moment we walked through the front doors, there was a sense of being home after a long journey. The room and bathroom were very clean - plenty of space for our needs. Although there was only one chair in our room, the two common rooms more than made up for that small inconvenience. We appreciated the fact that before breakfast was served -we could get a cup of coffee from the small kitchen area on the second floor, Our stay ended too soon - we would definitely stay at the August House again - a real gem! Nothing.

- Milena (10/5): - Very thoughtfully renovated property. We stayed in Unit 1 — everything was comfortable and spacious. The exposed structure of the wall in the kitchenette was a beautiful feature and a testament to how the walls were built back in 1850. Breakfast was homemade, and the scrambled eggs were exactly as we make them at home. The private sauna was a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day.

I have never stayed in any inn anywhere in the world that had paid much attention to detail, not just on the surface of being beautiful (which it is), but in every little detail that felt like it was meant to be a sanctuary of inspiration (down to the poetry murals), comfort, and rejuvenation. More like a spa than a place to sleep! Also- awesome breakfast, insumptuous credible hosts. 11 out of 10 stars! Also . . .what is IN that bath gel/shampoo/conditioner?! Cannot wait to return.

Once our luggage was stowed on the luggage racks, there was a single small dresser on which to put toiletries, etc. A small first wirld problem, lol.

Alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Auch wenn wir nichts zu bemängeln haben, fanden wir es im Vergleich zu unseren anderen Unterkünften doch etwas zu teuer.

- Sarah (10/5): - Highly recommend August House. The rooms in this heritage home are clean and beautiful with a minimalist, pine aesthetic. The breakfast is buffet with local bread, granola, berries, scrambled eggs, etc. The staff are very helpful. There is a sauna and several shared spaces. The rooms have no TV. The bed was very comfortable and the tub was deep.
- Scott (8/5): - The inn was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Having hot drinks and a refrigerator available were very nice. The breakfast was delicious, and it was nice to get to chat with other guests around the large table. Our only complaint was that we had hoped to spend time in the living room in the evening, but the record player didn’t work, the selection of games was scanty, and even if we had found a game to play, the lighting in both the living room and dining room was so dim that it would have been difficult to see to play. These slight deficiencies would be easy to correct, and overall this is a very nice place.

- Amy (10/5): Exceptional inn, lackluster location - This inn was exceptionally charming with so many thoughtful details - games and puzzles in the common room, Nespresso machine in the room, etc. The breakfast served was above and beyond my expectations...plenty to eat, thoughtful options for those with dietary challenges. The town of Windsor was very disappointing - very little to offer in the way of nightlife, no above average restaurants, very few shops. Wolfville seemed like it would have been a much better place to stay. Also, no TV in the room - not a deal breaker but seeing as there was so little to do locally, it would have been nice to have been able to watch a movie.

- Kristi (10/5): - Room (#1) was amazing- very large with a sitting area, high ceilings and comfortable bed. Air conditioning worked and parking was easy. There was a personal welcome note with a couple of treats. They even had free icecream sandwiches sticked in the freezer in the common area- who does that?! Breakfast was fine. I can’t think of any negatives- maybe just a note of caution- the toiletries in the bathroom are in glass bottles that can get a little slippery. Yes, I realize how nitpicky that sounds. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the August house and the area!

- Marjorie (10/5): - Incredible guest house with several rooms, many common spaces including a common room with a record player and an amazing selection of vinyl records. Rooms seem recenrly remodeled, very functional, nice bed (soft). There was a community fridge with ice available, and ice pops, as well as nespresso coffee and milks for the morning. Plus, they serve the a full continental breakfast (homemade granola, yogurt, fixings, hardboiled eggs, salami, procuito, cheese, toast, etc, juice coffee) in this large hall. The grounds have lots of places ro sit and a gas fire ring. A great place to stay!
- Darlene (10/5): Lovely B&B with comfortable and well appointed rooms - Quaint and lovely heritage home in the heart of Windsor, walking distance to the Main Street. My king bed room (#7) was located near the kitchenette that was well stocked with tea, coffee, milk/oat milk/cream and popsicles in the freezer as a summer treat. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was well appointed and the towels and robes were bright white and fluffy. There was a nightlight in the bathroom that wasn't intrusive but was helpful! The window shades did a fabulous job blocking out the light. Breakfast was delicious! The checkin instructions were clear and accurate and the personalized, hand written note in my room was a wonderful welcome. If I’m being picky the bathroom light had a yellow cast they made doing my makeup a little challenging for the event I was going to. I had to keep checking it in natural light.

The instructions for gaining access to the building and room were clear. The bathroom was lovely as was the room. When we advised we could not stay for breakfast due to an early departure, the proprietor kindly offered to have staff prepare a smoothie to go. The other staff we encountered was very helpful. Having the small bar fridge located beside the fireplace took away from the aesthetic. There was no armoire for hanging clothes but there was a rack. In sending pictures of the room to a friend they commented on this. It's not a big deal.

We stayed in room 3, which has a king size bed and a huge bathroom. I particularly liked that there are several quiet lounge areas where you can get coffee or tea and any additional cups or glasses you might need. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and wholesome. There's parking right out front and best of all, the staff is really dedicated to the comfort of the guests.

We booked 2 rooms that connected so that our kids could have their own space, but still be close by. It felt like a little apartment and we all really enjoyed our stay. The shared spaces were clean and curated and the staff were so lovely. The spent time chatting with us and gave us some great local recommendations. Highly recommend! nothing! It was absolutely perfect.

Good comms on getting in and friendly staff in morning. Windsor is a good base for visiting different things, and the bakery in town is awesome. Nothing it was all good. Maybe some mats for drinks in the bedroom as I felt nervous about putting coffee cups on beautiful side tables.

The aesthetics, functionality, warmth, cleanliness of the private rooms and common spaces (and the saunas) is surpassed only by the service and attentiveness of Melissa, Laura, Colette and Ezra. We slept in comfortable beds, with high quality linens and robes and fully stocked serving stations in and just outside of our family and friends Room 6. Breakfast was fresh and beautifully presented and Mellisa made a special effort to serve a vegan breakfast for our daughter. I really cannot think of a single thing to offer as constructive feedback; it is simply an exceptional place to stay. We did not like leaving.

- Shane (10/5): - Lovely and unique. This inn was the most memorable experience of my short lived time in Windsor, NS. The staff were helpful and polite and even offered a recipe for their baked oatmeal which was to die for. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get up. They have plenty of free amenities and snacks. They even give you complementary bath salts for a warm bath in a spacious tub.

We had the one king in the sunny bedroom and it was absolutely gorgeous! The hard wood floors were so nice and the recently remodeled bathroom was very modern, clean, and spacious. Aside from the cleanliness, comfort, and beauty of the Inn and the room we stayed in, the staff (while not always present due to the contactless check-in/out) was very responsive when I had to text about a few questions we had. They got back to me right away and were very polite and helpful in their response. You can tell they take so much pride in keeping their Inn in excellent condition and comfortable and pleasant for their guests. Additionally, the free breakfast they offered was homemade and very delicious (and I'm not a breakfast person!). I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I'm ever in the area again.
- Susan (10/5): Wonderful!! - This is my new number 1 favorite place to stay. Let me start with my most important point - cleanliness, this place is immaculate, very nicely renovated, very well thought out/planned, down to every detail, the flooring, everything. I love the contactless check in. Makes it very easy especially if you will be arriving late, no need to meet a deadline arrival. Communication is great. I got a text with all the specifics I needed. Now time for breakfast. The most amazing food I have ever had at any hotel. Homemade GF/DF granola, local sourdough bread. The quality and flavor of everything was superb. The staff were so friendly. The dining area was beautiful. The whole place has such a warm and cozy/homey feel to it. I went with my daughter and she absolutely oved it too. We are now going to make this a yearly trip of ours because it was so wonderful!

Loved the thoughtful touches throughout the house including ice cream sandwiches in the kitchenette fridge! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. They have cozy fire pits outside that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. They even provided kits for s’mores, which the kids absolutely loved! The room was immaculate—super clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. They really thought out every detail when designing this hotel. They also offered a light delicious breakfast, which was the perfect way to start the day. Overall, a fantastic stay for families or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend!
- Sylvie (6/5): - After coming down to eat breakfast at 10h10 , though it was 10h30 the cut off time…the person there just said sorry we are done at 10h00. She had plates full of food that she could have offered to us or even a cup of coffee…but instead just smiled ans said sorry breakfast is over. To me that is not customer service. If everything would have been cleaned no worries, but it just looked like she wanted to get it done and too bad for you.
