- Gena (10/5): - Rooms very clean just keep in mind there's no elevator
- Robert (6/5): - Clean, warm with a nice bed
Very plain accommodation
- Allan (10/5): - Helpful staff and plenty of places to eat within walking distance.
- Sherry (8/5): - beds were old spring type but we managed.
- Nancy (6/5): - We
- Daximus (8/5): - I liked the room
- Kenneth (8/5): - Room was basic but comfortable. The fellow at the front desk was very polite and accomodating.
- Rommel (8/5): - Need a secured parking
- Erik (4/5): - This is a very old and poorly-maintained property in an abandoned area of what seems to be a dying town.
- Benjamin (2/5): - No English
- Michelle (2/5): - Lots of stairs to haul luggage up. The smell was offensive in common areas like stairs and hallways. The room looked recently upgraded and painted. Bathroom was nice though an odd blue colored shower surround. Bed was broken and miserable. Trains closeby outside sounded their whistles every hour. Surrounding area felt Getto and unsafe. Rested the night sleeplessly and got out as early as possible in the morning.
- Sukhman (9/5): -
- Donna (6/5): - With no please note this is an older property with no elevator. All rooms are on the second floor.
- Larry (8/5): - The bed and mattress was very uncomfortable and it should be replaced soon. Not suitable for two people. I work for a nonprofit company and we budget to replace our aging mattresses so that our guests are comfortable. Other than that it was a good place to stay, quiet, good service.
- Daniel (10/5): - Accommodating
- lenord (10/5): - older building so has it quirks but great place overall
- Victoria (7/5): Comfortable and friendly - The new management has made some renovations. The room was comfy with everything I needed.
- Peter (10/5): - I stay here for business trips. Clean cozy rooms. Staff is great. Nice place to stay for reasonable rate.
- john (8/5): - It was easy to find, it was very clean, close to downtown eateries, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, coffee packets and bottle water was abundant... Parking seemed limited
- Koreena (6/5): - Property was very clean, it is a little dated but well kept. There was a portable air conditioner in the room and the hose fell off during the night, the room got really hot and a few hours before we had to wake up we had to mess around and fix it. Would still stay there again though
- Mike (2/5): - This was the worst hotel I have seen in quite sometime. It was dirty, noisy, and I felt unsafe in this location. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone.
- Dean (4/5): - Nothing unique about it it’s dirty and run down will never stay there again
- Robert Walters (7/5): -
- Jennifer (6/5): - Very friendly staff to greet us. Good price.
- Peter (10/5): - Great place to stay. I stay here whenever I’m in town for business. Decent rates and clean rooms. Safe area. Lots of parking up front and side. Food places walking distance.
- Kristie (2/5): - No one was at the desk for check in. You drop your keys off in an unlocked cubby that anyone could walk in the front and grab a set of keys and help themselves to a room. Bed and pillow were horrible. The room and bed were filthy. The whole facilty needs to be condemned. Buyer beware. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.
- Sterling (1/5): -
- Alysa (8/5): - Staff was great, the place is very outdated-but I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the rooms and for the price, I was happy.
- Theo (2/5): - The staff was friendly and it was clean. The locals told us they would have steered us elsewhere if we had asked. It's old with no "front desk" as such. Staff disappear in the middle of the day and you have to ring a phone number, which we did, as you are issued 2 keys. One for your room and one for the front door - which didn't work for about 10 frustrating minutes. A broken elevator and 30 odd stairs up an unusual 3 flights. We asked for a quiet room and got it. Couldn't open the window but an AC unit. Only place without anywhere to hang anything. Clothes, towels, nothing. No plugs for any bath or basin. Iron with no board. No place can deal with the constant freight trains but being by a crossing - they sound their horns a lot each time through the night. There is only the one key lock. The safety chains were all removed, so you better be decent when the room service unlock your door! Noticed a staff refilling water bottles from a jug so they were suspect. As a last resort ok, but definitely not my choice ever again.
- fahimi (8/5): -
- Jordie (10/5): - !
- Garrick (3/5): Kind of a sketchy hotel, but clean and the staff are making the most of it. -
- Carol (4/5): - Heavy coating of dust on wooden furniture.
Furniture looked like it came from a garage sale and mismatched.
Pillows and mattress were not very good.
Staff had to instruct us on how to watch tv channels on Prime because there was no cable or satellite tv.
Train horns blew throughout the night.
Paint peeling in strips off the wooden windows.
- Norma (6/5): - 3 sets of stairs to get to the room and no elevator
- Peter (10/5): - Great place to stay. Good rate. Manager was friendly.
- Norman (7/5): Very helpful host - Convenient location Maintenance needed
- Donna (10/5): - The place was very clean had a small kitchenette with all the things one would need to prepare a meal
- ryan (6/5): - I was surprised at how big the room was. it was dirty though. the front desk was filthy
- Serhat (7/5): Good -
- Dave (6/5): Pleasant - There was no breakfast! Put screens on windows or add air conditioning!
- Teresa (5/5): Very dated. Overall building in disrepair.we had issues with shower but staff were quick to correct the issues. Staff we - There was nothing really. Was not appealing
- Lillian (4/5): - This motel is what you pay for. Don’t expect more. Old. Dingy. The shower head shot all over the place. The checkin is not a desk but a person you email or text when you arrive. The bed was comfortable. And the room minimal clean. I wouldn’t stay here again. Very basic.
- Sharon (10/5): - Approachable staff and we had a comfortable stay.
- kristian (10/5): - Good for the price.
- Peter (10/5): - I stay here while on business. Nice and clean rooms. Friendly staff. Good rates.
- Hope (10/5): - Comfortable and quiet
- Monica (9/5): This hotel was perfect for our one night stay while traveling. They are pet friendly - The hotel has no elevator would be the only downside. The stairs are steep and hard to navigate with large luggage.
- Christine (1/5): Was the only room in town available. I would have left if there was any other options This propert needs a major renov - Location and staff Run down. Dirty.
- John (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable.
- Iain (2/5): - After a 12hr drive we were given a smoking room which stank of cigarettes. The chap kindly moved us to another not so smelly room with no AC. The room was tired. The sheets had stains on them. The toilet, shower and bath were disgusting. Hair and dirt in the bath. The shower curtain was just as dirty. It really was the most disgusting place we have ever stayed!
- Kirklin (4/5): - Friendly staff and owner. The owners seem committed to presenting the property as best they can, but the propery needs major upgrades and maintenance.
Great energy from owner/staff. Mediocre structure
- Haun (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (2/5): - Place was a dump with nothing what so ever to offer. No ice machines, no dining, no in room phone. Thank god I have a cellphone. Woumd have been in a pinch if I didnt. Owner claims they're renovating. My opinion, burn it to the ground & start fresh. I've stayed in some dive motels in my lifetime but this one tops them all. Never again.
- robert (10/5): - Was checking in very late, front office was very accommodating. Nice and clean, great value too !!! Highly recommended !!
- Gert (4/5): Was ok. But the stuffiness was not great. - Friendly staff Stuffy room
Tv did not connect to wifi for streaming services
- Darryl (8/5): Very good - It was pleasant
- Albert (7/5): good - good a bit run down
- Yves (6/5): - Will not return
- Ann (4/5): Disappointing - New owners slowly upgrading rooms but hotel is poorly serviced and very basic. No reception. No secure parking. Overpriced given how basic the accommodation is.
- Deidre (4/5): -
I paid $116 to stay here and it was not worth it. While the staff member I dealt with was professional and apologetic, this was not a great experience. It was unnerving that there is no staff on site overnight, and they didn’t tell me that if I needed something I’d have to call the general number. My bathtub and shower surround had cracked and peeling paint, the shower curtain was stained and had boogers and other things on it, so I did not use it. The freezer had a spill frozen into it, and the fridge is filled with condensation. There are no instructions for the TV, which in my room was just for show, because the live TV channels didn’t work, and while they offer access to Amazon Prime, you can only use it if others aren’t using it (10 user limit at once). The TV has Netflix but I couldn’t access it even if I wanted to use my own login. One of the “sanitary” plastic wrapped cups left in my room was full of holes in the wrapper and was left in the bathroom.
- Taunya (8/5): - Clean room and great price.
- Connie (8/5): - All the basics are there. Close to everything you might need.
- Randy (7/5): Good -
- Peter (10/5): - My usual place to stay while traveling. Nice clean rooms. Good rate. Friendly staff.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Great service 👏 👍
- Tia (8/5): - Staff was friendly, place was clean.
- Janni (10/5): - Bed was squeeky. Only bathtowel for one person. Excellent toiletries. Friendly and helpful employee.
- Pierre (8/5): - Great people
- Kristi (8/5): A very good value and I would stay here again. - We two ladies felt safe. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. The outside is dark and doesn’t look as nice as the inside. It was unfortunate that the restaurant was closed:-(
- Pat (2/5): - I didn’t stay. There was no person in the lobby to check me in when I arrived at approximately 6:15 pm. I decided to stay with a friend instead. I called the hotel later and was told they would cancel my reservation.
- Janice (9/5): I’d stay there again and recommend it to anyone. -
- Oscar (3/5): I choose cheap and I got what I paid for - Nobody told me there is breakfast The sink did not drain and the fixture of the bath tub were in such condition that I was afraid to touch them
- Kyle (8/5): - Very friendly staff
- Darryl (10/5): a good place to stay - the friendly personal service dripping of rain water right above the entrance from the roof, could be ice later on
- Johanna (8/5): - Close to downtown, easy walk to restaurants and shops. Friendly, helpful staff.
- Roy (8/5): Good value. - No breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi signal weak - erratic connectivity.
- Peter (10/5): - Nice and clean place to stay for the price.
- Kathleen D (6/5): - This is an old property with new owners. It must be difficult getting into the business with old "bones". I wish them well. Tweeking could include an elevator, re-set the rooms to more modern standards (can't offer a whole lot of suggestions in this small space), bathroom updates (a paint job isn't enough). Must add that the "staff" of one made a great welcome and he was very helpful. Quite casual.
- Markus (10/5): - Ich habe mich mit meinem Fahrrad sehr wohl fühlt und konnte mich gut erholen.
- Milad (5/5): Passable -
- Sheila (3/5): Poor -
- Scott (6/5): - Its an average motel
- Kathryn (10/5): - Staff were very kind and helpful. Went out of their way to show how to operate tv and got us a bucket of ice
- Les (8/5): - Cheap accommodation
- Kevin (1/5): Bad -
- Matthew (10/5): Highly Recommend! - One of the friendliest places I have ever stayed. The manager ( I think he probably owns it) held the doors for us, not just when we checked in, but during our entire stay as I am disabled, he went the extra mile to make sure it was easy for me to get in and out. He also offered to carry our luggage. The room was freshly renovated, well cleaned and extremely quiet and comfortable. We slept excellent both nights we stayed here. Also nice cold A/C, which was huge since we stayed during some hot weather. Vanderhoof is an extremely friendly town and we definitely plan to visit again! As they're working on renovating the entire first floor of this building, they only had second floor rooms available at the time of our stay. The stairs were nicely carpeted with good railings, so it wasn't too bad.
