- Fabio (8/5): Hospedagem para relaxar - O café da manhã é maravilhoso. O quarto tem muito conforto, cama boa, jogo de lençol maravilhoso. A piscina é lindíssima e perfeita. O chuveiro não esquenta muito, ele esquenta e para. A chegada no hotel é direto no mar, não é algo que achei ruim, mas um aviso quando agendamos a lancha seria interessante, assim a gente se prepara melhor para se molhar. A praia é uma delícia. O almoço, petiscos na piscina e o jantar são pagos. Média dos pratos 60.000. Ao todo na nossa estadia de 3 dias gastamos 1.200.000 Tivemos uma noite de chuva intensa e nosso quarto teve muitas goteiras, mas a equipe nos mudou de quarto e foram ágeis. A jacuzzi que tem no quarto é uma delícia.

- AHTZIRI RODRIGUEZ (10/5): - Todo estuvo prerfecto en la estancia , limpio bonito y el personal muy amable. La comida deliciosa y llenador. Solo el telefono no sirvio no podiamos pedir a la habitacion y no lo pudieron arreglar xq si fueron. El transporte de ida en la lancha era personal nuevo que estaba aprendiendo y casi nos volteamos varias veces, iba muy rapido y todavia no sabia agarrar las olas bien. En la lancha de regreso no tuvimos ningun percance.

- Tatiana (10/5): - Este hotel en una isla es el lugar perfecto para desconectar de la ciudad y disfrutar de la tranquilidad frente al mar. Aunque durante el día la música suena fuerte en algunas áreas, hay lugares más tranquilos para relajarse. El servicio es excelente y, aunque las opciones gastronómicas son limitadas, la comida es de buena calidad. Las áreas públicas son lindas y acogedoras, ideales para pasar el tiempo, y las cabañas son amplias, limpias, bien equipadas y cuentan con una terraza privada muy agradable. Un excelente destino para disfrutar con amigos o pareja, aunque no es muy adecuado para familias.

- Benjamin (6/5): - Hotel is nice, clean and safe, they would benefit from a gym and getting wifi to work on the roof of the premium rooms (where the jacuzzi and outdoor areas are). Unfortunately dining, customer service & management is lacking. Every single day the hotel ran out of food and drinks. The staff did nothing to resolve issues, rather just walked away quickly, made excuses or stood there saying nothing. During our stay the hotel ran out of STILL WATER, Coke Zero, pizza bases, ham, beef, deserts, other ingredients in cocktails on their menu. These problems happened EVERY day and eventually we met with the quality service manager, who did give us a free dinner, which was appreciated, however he just made more excuses rather than solving issues. Apparently it is the “hotel’s” fault, not any individual… One day we ordered our own food and drink from Cartagena for delivery, which proves getting supplies isn’t that hard, but nobody at the hotel was able to make this happen. Boats run every hour from Cartagena and staff on both sides? We ordered a drink off their menu only for staff to come back 20 minutes later and say they don’t have all the ingredients, then walk away without offering an alternative. We would come back if they got fixed these issues, but with an experience like this, if these issues aren’t resolved, we’d prefer to go back to Punta Faro on Mucura instead of come back here. Facility is luxury but service is far from it. Fix the problems and we would return.

- Andrea (8/5): - Makani is beautiful. When booking, please be mindful that this resort is not located on the mainland, but on an island. Cartagena is 20 minutes away by speedboat. The boat ride to the island was an adventure. If you are looking to party and be up all night wandering the city, then do not book here! This is a great place for quiet, reflection, and relaxing. Upon arrival, We were greeted to a nice cool drink and staff that were friendly. If you do not speak the language, Google translator is a must! The room was beautiful. However, the showers are hot or cold, never warm. I enjoyed the private jacuzzi. It felt like sitting in my own oasis. One downfall is the cost of food and drinks. 1 bottle of water is over $2 usd if you add in the tip and service tax. French fries is about $7. We ordered 2 Tequilla sunrise and was charged for separate ingredients… orange juice! Tequilla… until a discussion was had.. so be sure to look before signing the receipt. Overall this was a great experience. I would recommend staying here. I give this place 4.5 stars!

- Sara (8/5): - Staff was very helpful on our way there and back, however whilst we were on the resort, especially those by the pool were slightly absent minded. Having said that, it’s been a great experience with tastefully designed interior in the room / villa and I’d go again for a quiet relaxing retreat.
- Tarl (8/5): - Overall, it’s a beautiful property. Within a couple hours of arriving, we were already considering extending our stay… that is, until we took a shower. One min of scalding water followed by 5 mins of cold, rinse and repeat (no pun intended). Maintenance just said that’s the way it is. On the plus side, Alejandro (a manager I believe) was very proactive in offering to compensate us by offering us spa treatments. Overall we enjoyed our stay- and had the shower worked properly, we would have really enjoyed it. It’s just if you’re paying $450+ a night for a room, a shower works properly is a must.
- Alexander (6/5): - The resort is beautifully made and has a great pool area as well as restaurants. Also the rooms are spacious and luxurious. However, the service has a lot of potential for improvement. Waiters forget your order and/or bring them twice. Every order takes 30-60min (even though there were barely any people sometimes) and the staff seems very relaxed and are talking with each other. We were locked out of our room for 3h and we received no apology for the long wait. The wifi also didn't work very well and had long outages. Furthermore, after denying them a tip because of the bad service some waiters completely ignored us until we told the reception and management.

El personal en su mayoría no es cálido ni amable .a excepción del señor que te recibe en la playa para transportar las maletas ( Leonardo Mendoza que es muy amable ) Claramente hay un problema gerencial el servicio es lento y equivocado . Te entregan pedido que no ordenaste , y cuentas que no son las tuyas . El SPA no es para nada relajante . Estás expuesto a todo lo que pasa en la playa . Música ruido . Sin ninguna privacidad.

- Marcela (10/5): - This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The place is brand new, cozy and modern. The facilities were outstanding! It is as good of a stay as any luxury chain resort. Getting there was easy enough since they provide their own Makani transportation, 18 min later we were welcomed at the property with a very cold beverage. We were upgraded on the pool chairs since the place was not busy and our room wasn’t ready We stayed with kids and they loved it! We were able to snorkel on their beach. Kids wished we stayed there for the entire vacation. My daughter got sick the night before we got there (too much sun exposure, I think since she got better right away) and the staff sent the property nurse. Everyone knew she was sick and offered to bring her tea/water/medicine etc. Even at night, the staff told me the guard of the property knew and will help in the worst case scenario, to take my daughter to Emergencies. Thankfully she felt better the next day and was snorkeling with dad all day Everyone knew my name and welcomed me (by my name) every time I got a drink or food. We came during the weekday and it wasn’t crowded at all! There are no vendors hustling on the beach, (anywhere you go in the beach, people will try to sell you things, be careful) However none of this happened on this resort. Relaxing here was amazing (no one was in sight) The price per night was expensive, but if you pay for the day or 2 to come here, then staying the night is worth it especially if you are here

The boat pick up situation was a little confusing as the tent they had indicated as theirs seemed to be occupied by a family spending the day at the beach… but when we returned it seemed like it was a specific tent for makani. Many people on the beach will ask you where you are going to try and get you in their boat… the makani crew all work makani shirts - we had them show us their pick up list so we could be certain it was the right boat. Beyond that the room was incredible the private pool deck fantastic, staff very lovely and helpful and all common areas were gorgeous. Food was also really good and a la carte breakfast included was delicious. Very happy we chose to spend the last few days of our trip here.

- claito (6/5): Nice facilities! - The facilities are amazing! What made me happy, was to see that the hotel and employes take care of the dogs of the island. I hope they have a program to castrate the female, so they keep healthy. It was joyfull to have them with us! Amazing pool, restaurant and the rooms are also super cosy with nice furniture.

- Steve (10/5): Peaceful Retreat - An amazing peaceful resort that reminded me of my stays on small islands in Fiji without the 14 hour flight. Communication from hotel is great. They tell you to meet at a tent on the beach and helpful boat staff take care of all luggage. Some mention the boat ride is rough, but for us both directions was a pleasant ride. Staff greet you upon arrival at island. Check in was easy and fast. We staying in the villa that overlooks the water. Private pool is clean and everything in room is perfect. Important to know that this resort is a day club. Stayed 3 nights and generally about 10-20 people come from 11-5. Before 11 and after 5 we had the entire resort to ourselves or would see at most 4 other guests. Food in restuarant was excellent. There are 6 dogs they live on property. If you hate dogs the staff will chase them away, but we were the opposite and they are super cute. One spent the night with us and kids will enjoy the small friendly dogs. Read the fine print about where your lounge chairs will be. As a hotel guest, you are below the pool, in front of a wall before the beach because the pool chairs are for day club guests. 3 of 4 days we were given great spots at the pool and only 1 day placed on the sand. Service is excellent, but almost no English if you care about that. Overall; incredible room and property. Alone at restaurant for breakfast, nice people come for the day and then deserted late afternoon once again.
