And while there are vendor and tourists all over, I was never bothered by any noise. The hotel was extremely clean. Breakfast was also really good. The front desk staff were all so friendly.

34438CarlosO210 (10/5): Great boutique hotel - From the moment you arrive you can tell why going to a boutique hotel makes a difference! As a welcome drink and warm hand towels is what’s provided. The hotel is 12 rooms with two bars one rooftop and one downstairs. The rooms are big and spacious. Our room was completely quiet being in the middle of town in which you can expect noise outside but we never heard a thing. Hotel staff is very accommodating, Jean Pierre was our bartender and was very informative with places to eat and drink around town. Breakfast was including in which I have to say each day we looked up to that part of the morning as we got handed fruits and breads with different flavors. This is a great hotel in the heart of the town and I would come back here in a heartbeat.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and filling. Great massages in our room, soaked in the jacuzzi, enjoyed the rooftop pool. Danna was exceptionally friendly and kind, treating us like family. And makes the absolute best Moscow Mule! We hope to come back soon!!

konadogUS (10/5): A Diamond in the heart of Cartagena - It is a lovely hotel in a terrific location with outstanding personal service. Just steps away from everything one could do in the walled city of Cartagena. The decor is clean and classic yet authentic to its place in the history of Cartagena. Each room is updated with the modern amenities you would expect at a 5-star hotel. Nice spacious bathrooms, high-speed internet, and television. There is a complimentary Colombian breakfast each day. Very high quality, authentic Colombian fare, and a few North American favorites like pancakes, oatmeal, and eggs. There is a gorgeous and intimate pool on the rooftop with a bar where staff cater to your every need. The quality of staff here was outstanding and the best of the three hotels we visited in Colombia. Jorge arranged our taxis to and from the airport and was incredibly helpful during the entire stay. The Manager, Rosanna, was engaging and constantly working to ensure everyone had a marvelous stay. Just a lovely person! Elaine was terrific at answering all our questions, arranging some great excursions, and ensuring we had everything we needed. Although Google Translate makes things easy for us Gringos, with sub-par Spanish, most of the staff has excellent English skills. This is a great hotel that is very well run. We felt safe and in good hands the entire time. Hotel Casa Del Gobernador guests are getting a great value when they visit Cartagena.

Selena (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay here. Though it was for a short time, my party of two was throughly taken care of from beginning to end. Jorge, the night manager, made sure any questions were answered about the hotel or surrounding areas--what was available to us, what was safe, what would be entertaining, etc. He was always kind, bright, and helpful. The hotel staff were always polite and warm, as well. We had the first room on the first floor, which was concerning to me, at first, due to the music that plays. I am a very light sleeper. However, though the room wasn't soundproof to the music or people in the lobby or open seating area, it did a great job of blocking out the sounds and I slept very well throughout each night. My friend enjoyed the breakfast and sitting areas to study. I enjoyed the comfortable beds and spacious shower with excellent hot water. The rooms are a little dim for me, but overall the soft lighting helps keep you relaxed once you return indoors from the hustle and bustle of the nearby streets of the Walled City. Money exchanges are nearby with great rates; bars and restaurants are all aorund; souvenirs are easy to get close by; Great location! It is largely due to Hotel Casa del Gobernador that I had such a warm and seamless welcome into Cartagena, and that I felt safe and like I had family looking out for me if anything were to ever occur (nothing did and I never once felt as it would, btw, but it's nice to have support whenever traveling abroad).

Large room with super comfy bed and bedding, large and well supplied bathroom (thick Terry cloth robes, nice slippers in addition to the usual body wash, shampoo, and lotion) with a tub large enough for two. Very helpful staff and great breakfast included. We would stay in this hotel again if we have the opportunity.

The staff went above and beyond to make this a memorial trip for my husband’s birthday. Even surprised him with decorations and a cake at breakfast. The food at the hotel was some of the best I have had while in Colombia. The staff were all so nice and accommodating. The location is a round the corner from the action, quiet, but still close enough to it all. The hotel was clean and beautiful. I can’t express enough how great the stay was here. The pool is spacious and on the rooftop. Our flight left at 3am and the staff arranged for our cab to be there at checkout at 1:30 am. I felt completely safe during the stay. I have no complaints and will definitely stay here again. You will not be disappointed staying here. BOOK IT :)

ronnam615 (10/5): Happy Birthday at the Hotel Casa del Gobernador - Fabulous boutique hotel in the walled city of Cartagena. Service by the staff was exceptional from the minute we entered and were greeted by Fabio. Hotel was updated, clean and our room was well adorned and spacious. Staff- Fabio, Harold and Alan went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Breakfast was also wonderful with many choices. We also used the cozy roof top pool and had drinks at the bar. Our first time in Cartagena and I would highly recommend staying at this property. Staff made my birthday trip with my husband one to remember. We loved the boutique hotel experience.
Jach (10/5): - I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Hotel La Casa Gobernador. The room was elegant and beautifully appointed. The bathroom and amenities were 5-star. The bed was super comfortable and the room size was splendid. All of that, and the most wonderful part of the friendliness, the attentiveness, and the assistance of all the staff members. They treated us as if we were the most important guests and I am sure they treated the other guest the same way. We have stayed at the "big name" hotels in Cartagena, and this boutique hotel outshines them all. We will be returning and we are already recommending this hotel to our friends here in Colombia and in the US.

He was available for us and did more than we deserved. It was difficult to come back home. Our room was clean, the air conditioning was nice and strong and everything felt luxurious. It was the highlight of our Cartagena trip.

MartijnValkenswaard (4/5): A dissapointing stay - The house and location is nice. Personel tries to help. But where should I start? The checkin in was mediocre. Room not ready so decided to stay out and come back at about 15.45. Room was ready they said , got the key and surprise surprise; room was full with clothes and luggage of other guest. Not cleaned at all. They downgraded me after an hour to o normal room instead of the designer suite I booked for € 435.- a night . No compensation at all. On top: pool closed and rooftop also, elevator: ‘no sir, out of order’. Because I stayed here only two nights I decided to not let it effect my trip. When I checked out I asked the management lady (nice women) about any reaction or whatever via e-mail, actually normal room price instead of suite price. Still waiting…. Had to pay the few drinks of the minibar. All in all: nice location, nice house, not everything (such as pool, rooftop terrace available) and management is by I nice lade who is doing this (I think) as a job beside. Next time a proper hotel like Sofitel Santa Clara again for me.
Mark (10/5): - This is a small "Boutique" Hotel. Cartagena itself, is a walk through World History, and this Hotel dates to the early 16th Century, with every space having some significance. Well executed and worth a visit.
Savannah (10/5): - The location was excellent. We were greeted by the most welcoming staff. The courtyard, dining area, two bars and pool area were beautiful and so clean. Even though the streets can be loud, we felt out room was quiet. The rooms were so comfortable and very nice as well. The bed was so comfortable after a long day of sight seeing. We only stayed 4 days but the staff knew us very well and were incredibly accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was delicious! We would definitely stay here again.
Purplestar096 (10/5): Hotel Casa del Gobernador - Hotel Casa del Gobernador is a cosy hotel in the old city of Cartagena. The rooms and hotel are clean, and all the staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and even though there was not a wide variety, it was tasty and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the daily helping od local fruit. I would highly recommend this hotel .

Climber561428 (10/5): Fabulous Boutique Hotel within Historic Walled City of Cartagena - Hotel Casa Del Gobernador is a spectacular, boutique hotel with 12 luxurious rooms near all the best restaurants and historic sites in the walled city of Cartagena, Colombia. While it is near everything, it is quiet once you pass through the front gate and enjoy the welcoming courtyard and rooftop pool. You can sleep soundly without disturbing noise from the nearby night-life. We loved the personal attention and guidance we received from Antonio at the front desk, we savored the various breakfasts offered each morning, and relaxed on the rooftop pool with a drink from the bar at the end of each day. Both Antonio and Jocelyn made great suggestions for dining and late night drinks in the old city. The building was once the colonial governor’s mansion and it was recently completely renovated and modernized with an elevator and three story waterfall in the restful courtyard. This place is well worth the splurge for an elegant stay in Cartagena.

He made sure our experience was nothing less than perfection, and was also very flexible with us when we ran a bit late during our check out. Would definitely stay here again :)
balrajsingha2024 (10/5): Attractive And Luxury House - i was at the end of december with my girlfriend till new year at casa del gobernador hotel, and we had splendid atention by Antonio, he gave to us some tips about good restaurants also suggested to us good references with graffiti streets, Antonio was fantastic he cared about us, the house is so pretty and breakfast wonderful
libertyraec (10/5): One of the best hotels in Cartagena all around. - My family and I had one of the best experiences staying at this hotel hands down. Besides the great centralized location in the old city, it is very safe and secure and that it boasts such beautiful rooms, the staff will truly make your stay unforgettable. Rossana, the general manager captains a great team. Carolina, the front desk manager will greet you with a smile and friendly energy as well as her terrific receptionist team members Yoselin, Humberto, Sebastian and Antonio who all lead with kindness and will not only look out for you but give you great restaurant suggestions and help you get anywhere you may want to go. If you need anything, Harold is always available if you need him and has a great personality. Also, look forward to a delicious breakfast made with love by their Chef, Janet. Don't hesitate to book your next stay here at Casa Cochera del Gobernador, you won't regret it.
