duaa (10/5): A fantastic stay with outstanding service, beautiful rooms, and a luxurious atmosphere—I truly enjoyed every part of it - My experience at the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair was excellent. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated being offered a late checkout. The room was beautiful, modern, and very well furnished. The spa was amazing, the pool was excellent, and room service was prompt and high quality. I also loved the location and the interior design of the hotel—everything felt luxurious and thoughtfully done. The only small issue I had was with the towels, as they weren’t as soft as I would expect for a hotel of this standard. I shared this feedback with the staff during my stay.

The view was nothing a backdrop and nobody told us about the construction which did not let me sleep in. When i asked for late checkout they were rude and said no. The air conditioner is not cold either.

IrenK_12 (6/5): Mayfair Mandarin vs. Hyde Park - I have nothing to say for Mandarin Hotels’ quality of service and staff. Nevertheless, I can make a comparison between MO Mayfair and Hyde Park since I had the pleasure staying in both. Both have great locations, close to best locations. But if you ask me, I prefer Hyde Park because waking up early and have a stroll in HydePark in just one minute is great. In addition to that, Hyde Park Mandarin has a magnificient architecture and welcoming entrance. In Mayfair Mandarin, which is a new establishment, has some drawbacks: 1. There is an ongoing construction next to the hotel so your room view may be obstructed. 2. The restaurant for breakfast is located on a lower floor so no outdoor view - while Hyde Park Mandarin offers a beautiful view overlooking Hyde Park. 3. Mayfair Mandarin does not offer an open buffet breakfast while Hyde Park has a selection both in open buffet and additional plates on menu. 4. Notable comparison on rooms: while Mayfair Mandarin offers only walk-in showers, Hyde Park has hot tub available. When it comes to other amenities, most of them sre generally comparable. I had one downside during my stay in Mandarin Hyde Park: they put us in a room facing interior of the complex. This was the reason I wanted to try newly established Mayfair Mandarin but sadly, it is certain I won’t be choosing this hotel again for my upcoming travels to London. I hope this review can help other travellers

They went beyond politeness, to interest in what we were doing and how we were enjoying our travels we could not have been more pleased. While this is an outstanding property. the attitude of the staff makes it exceptional. We can’t wait to come back to London and stay here.

Drinks were really good, and some pretty good views over London. We had the added bonus of not only having a DJ but a sax and Bongo player who were spectacular! Will definitely be back!

The bed was very hard, quite a confusing layout for the lifts from my room..I often ended up in the staff lift.

adrianmQ3878KP (10/5): Mayfair's best small high-luxury hotel - This boutique type hotel/luxury residence is the newest property from Mandarin Oriental in London's chicest neighbourhood. Although quiet at night (though many of London's top tables are a stone's throw away), this high end bolthole is close to super-chic shopping and the high street, SOHO, and Hyde Park. The rooms are quiet and very comfortable , the minibar is complimentary, the rooftop terrace is surely the best in the neighbourhood, with a nearly 360° view of the city. From the world class spa, with an exceptional pool program, you'd never believe you were in the heart of a busy city, and the Akira Back restaurant brings you the unique cuisine of one of the world's most in demand chefs, with riffs on Japanese and other cooking traditions using the best of British produce. But what really shines here are the staff- and I feel embarrassed for not having noted all of their names: Peter, the head concierge, who is a mix pure class, expert insider and your best friend in the city, the young ladies at the reception, Hana, Georgie and especially the wonderful Portuguese lady who took care of us throughout the stay (shame on me for not remembering everyone's name!) as well as the doormen, always smiling , always ready to give a little golden nugget of advice or information about the city or neighbourhood, making everything personal and special. The bar manager (Italian?) as well was always around and a friendly and consummate pro. making us feel at home. We look forward to coming back to London very soon, and this wonderful hotel is a reason to do so.
PatrikL245 (10/5): Excellent spa, room, breakfast, unfortunate construction noises - We stayed the at both, the Raffles OWO (1 night), and MO Mayfair (5 nights) during our trip to London. I would choose this MO over the Raffles every single time. The location is fantastic. Right between the 2 main shopping streets (New Bond st & Oxford st), literally 1 minute walk max from both. Hyde park is 10 minute walk away. Mayfair is also the best area for higher end dining. The only major downside was the large construction site 0,5 m away from our windows. We received a room that had windows on two sides, but still the only thing we could see were construction site and construction men just behind our window. Not the nicest view. The noise also woke us up every morning, so be aware of that until for the next year or so. Request a room with some othe direction, we did not bother as we only noticed it after emptying our luggage. The service was always excellent. Everything we ever asked was fulfilled rapidly. Everyone was also greeting us with a smile everywhere in the hotel (especially the ladies at the reception and at breakfast). They were also extremely quick to learn your names and room numbers. Only the doormen lacked the effort at times, cracking jokes by themselves and hanging (which looked like their friends from outside of the hotel) at times. Most of the time they did their work fair enough, but compared to the doormen at Raffles, these felt like high school graduates to their extremely professional and descrete doormen at Raffles. Some places also require a certain hygien practises from their staff, but it did not seem to be the case here with the doormen, as an unclean and unshsped overgrown ”playoff” beard was quite popular among them, adding to the unorofessional feel. I would like to note that this comment does not apply to everyone, as there were a couple doormen who did very well and had professional hygien. Breakfast was also great. There was no buffet, but an a la carte list. If you have breakfast included to your rate, it includes 1 warm dish per person from the menu, and unlimited everything else. (much nicer than the small buffet and 1 item from menu at Raffles). The only downside was the fact that during the 5 mornings, they never had strawberry youghurt (which was on the menu) and only during 2 mornings was there blueberry youghurt to cover. The room was extremely nice. We had booked the Executive Suite, and the extra extra square metres were necessary. Most rooms in London are quite small, but this had great room. The minibar was also complimentary, but it did not include any spirits, and only 1 small bottle of white wine and 2 lagers. There were some (hippie colas) too. So be aware, that the complimentart minibar is not your average minibar where they have spirits etc. Bed was great, very soft. Only downside was the pillows, as they did not have a great pillow menu (if at all) as I requested for lower pillows, they told they had non. Housekeeping was also on point every time. The spa was one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel. Even tho Raffles has perhaps the best spa in London, this had its own advantages. The spa area was much smaller, making it more intimate. The lap pool was great for swimming laps, but thus was not exactly a ”luxury” type of pool where one would casually enjoy the day. The water was freshing, so not for just standing around. They had 3 small vitality pools which were warmer. However, those had jetskies which caused very loud noise if one used them, turning the intimate spa into a waterpark type of atmosphere. A normal ”luxury” jacuzzi would have been better. The fact that the lap pool had no overflow on any side, also turned the pool into a rough sea-simulator, as the wawes bounced back and forth from every wall. There was also a steam room and a Finnish sauna, both really nice. The gym was super modern, with pilates machines etc. All in all we managed very well with what they offered. The rooftop bar is nice, but very quiet. If you are looking for some crowds and action, go somewhere else, but if you are looking for a quiet higher end bar for andrink or two, I would highly recommend. I would definitely visit again in the future.

pink_canvas (4/5): Disappointing Stay at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair - We are loyal members of Mandarin Oriental and always choose to stay at their properties worldwide. In July 2024, we had an exceptional stay at Mandarin Oriental Knightsbridge, as well as at other Mandarin Oriental locations globally. However, our experience at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair was disappointing and did not meet the brand’s usual high standards. We stayed in the 3-bedroom apartment for 4 nights as a family. While the location is excellent and the reception staff were polite and welcoming, our stay was overshadowed by multiple issues that were never properly addressed. Pros: ✅ Great location – close to Mayfair’s shops and restaurants ✅ Lovely and polite reception staff – very professional and welcoming Cons: ❌ Master bedroom bathroom was freezing – despite complaining from day one until the last day, the issue was never fixed ❌ Sewage smell in the apartment, corridor, and even the elevator – very unpleasant ❌ Underfloor heating & towel racks didn’t work – maintenance came several times but could not resolve the problem ❌ Lack of effective service recovery – issues persisted throughout our stay despite multiple complaints ❌ Construction noise in the morning – quite disruptive and not what we expected from a luxury hotel Unfortunately, this was not a pleasant stay, and I don’t think we will return to this property. We visit London frequently, and while we love Mandarin Oriental hotels, this particular location does not live up to the brand’s reputation.

Stayed for three nights for business during the holiday crush and really enjoyed the tranquility. A real contrast from many other hotels in the area which can be overwhelmed with guests and tourists.

The service that was perfect from the beginning to the end. The spa where the massage was great. The breakfast. And the location. I had a great time and will come back.

443rudolfm (4/5): Not at Mandarin hotel standard yet - Service at restaurant needs training, forgets orders. Room 206 ( suite) very noisy because of construction outside (catastrophic!). No apologies after our complain. Food quality at the restaurant for lunch very good. Highlight they have is the roof rop bar

AdeleRose12 (6/5): Tiny Tiny Bathroom - On this trip I was traveling alone.. maybe that is why I got this bathroom? The smallest space I have ever seen in a new luxe hotel. The make up mirror was on top of the toilet. The orchid was barely alive. Not top many towels plus the offensive black “makeup” ones. Upon opening the mini bar just to see the milk was half used. The room was comfortable. Again not too large. Breakfast seemed low end and budget like compared to the London Mandarin on the Park. The sushi dinner was just ok.

RhymingOz (10/5): Mandarin rocks for this poor boy - From start to finish this place is exemplary. Service and friendliness bundled up with assistance is great. It’s pure class on so many fronts. The rooms are like a treasure trove with hidden gems all over the place in innocuous containers. From macrons to tv remotes. The Japanese toilet that beckons you with light in the middle of the night. The breakfast was sensational in option and delivery. We’re still here so looking forward to our next couple of days

eustakee (2/5): Very bad service - I'am very disappointed with the service of the staff,when I arrived at the hotel the doorman was on the phone instead of greeting me and helping me,I laughed at him after he realized ande finally came to meet me I asked him something he didn't know of course after I get to the reception there were also two girls busy on there phones and laughing,then when I went to the room with the porter a blond boy was chewing gum and didn't say anything I entered to the room he didn't explain nothing about the room facilities and he felt my luggage I the middle of room without asking me where to put them,nothing compares to the hotel in knightsbridge
RonT-Global (4/5): At $1,500 per night, they want you to do your own valet parking (in the rain) - I drive a Land Rover Defender. They say it is too high for their garage. They sent me to a garage 1 kilometer away. To park on my own. It took me 35 minutes to go back and forth, walking back in the rain for 20 back (it was impossible to find taxis in the rain). I returned soaking wet. They expect me to do that every time I arrive or leave the hotel. 35 minutes twice a day, or more than an hour every day. For $1,500 per night. Completely ruined my stay. This is not what you expect of the Mandarin Oriental brand. A disgrace to the brand. Don't go there if your drive a Defender or a similar car.
David (10/5): - Beautifully furnished rooms and hotel, wonderfully attentive and friendly staff throughout, stunning and tranquil spa. Fantastic food at Akira Back and a lovely English breakfast. We will return.

BCKC826 (10/5): A hidden gem in Mayfair. - Amazing hotel , a hidden gem with a boutique hotel feel but with exceptional service. Lovely rooms, fantastic Akira Back restaurant , great bar and a calming and relaxing spa. As always superb Mandarin Oriental staff providing top level service. Looking forward to a return visit.
