- Philipp (9/5): Chilled hostel with cool vibes, Wifi not the best. - The location was awesome as it is literally in the heart of Laureles. You have a lot of cafés, restaurants, gym very close by. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well. Overall good hostel. The wifi wasn't steady and generally the best. since I am working remotely, that was bit annoying for me.

- Maria (4/5): A disaster - Staff, extremely helpful! Needs lots of maintenance in its facilities. Matress was old and cover with plastic, not comfortable at all. Street traffic noise is loud.
- Kerry (10/5): Great place. Awesome staff. Perfect neighborhood. - The staff at this hostel were incredibly friendly. I mean, hostel staff are usually friendly (in most cases, anyway), but these people were all just fantastic. They were also proactive in asking for things you might need or want before you even thought about needing them. And they were fun to just casually chat with while waiting for your food to cook. Nothing really. I guess if you have to do video calls for work like I did, you have to consider the street traffic is super loud (e.g. men selling fruit, tons of loud motorbike engines, cars honking horns, party buses that start around 6pm, etc.). Those are not the fault of the hostel, but something to keep in mind if you need silence when you work, read, etc.

Location great, lots of cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. Bed space good but mattress not so, due to protective covering. Locker space good but space in dorm between bed and wall is very tiny. Kitchen gw enough equipped. Nice to be able to drink the tap water. Lounge and dining area good. Showers ok but freezing cold only😬 The cold cold showers 😬 The tiny space in dorms. But all ok.

The room is very very very small and the bed looks like a shoe box, very hard to go up in the bunk bed and hard to organized your stuff. The bed is horrible pillow and mattress are covered with a plastic and every bed has a personal fan, that makes huge noise at night.
- Rosalia (8/5): Very good - Overall I had a good time staying in Baku Hostel. The staff was super friendly and helpfully, they made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The kitchen was always clean and tidy, and they cleaned the common rooms everyday. The location is terrific, the hostel is close to everything and there are so many wonderful restaurants literally next to it. I really didn't like the rooms, it felt like we were sleeping in shoe boxes. There were no windows and everything felt so dark and without oxygen. There was space to keep our things in cupboards underneath the bed, but there wasn't a self to keep things close to the bed. A recommendation I would leave would be for the hostel to have some composting service. Medellin has composting stations everywhere, so I was surprised to see they didn't have a bin for collecting food scraps and organics. The other thing I would recommend, is for the toilets to have a toilet brush so that people can clean up after themselves and not have to wait for the cleaning service to clean up for them.

I never felt bored or alone. The staff were amazing! Very accommodating, friendly and nice. It felt like being part of a family/community. And the kitchen, very spacious and quite modern. - Tatiana (9/5): Great staff and great location - Great staff, super friendly and helpful! We even went with them to a soccer game. The hostel is well located in Laureles, a safe and green neighbourhood, not as touristy as Poblado. You will find many nice bars, restaurants and cafes close by. The kitchen is bright, very well equipped and very clean. There are several communal areas on both floors to hang out. Every bed in the dorm has its own fan. All in all, a very clean hostel and nice staff! If you don't care about small dorms, you will like it here. There is traffic at the street, so it's not super quite during the day if you want to chill. Although the hostel is quite new, it didn't look that new, e.g. I felt the bathroom could have been better maintained. The room I was staying in was very small and didn't have a window, so fresh air only came in when we left open the bathroom door and the door to the corridor. It might be due to the off season, but there weren't many guests, so it was a little hard to get to know many people. On the other side, the atmosphere was very familiar.

- Dan (10/5): Great location and superb staff - The 6 bed dorm was great. Our room was two bunks, 3 levels high, so try to get the bottom bunk if you don't want to climb 2 ladders! Beds are comfortable. The staff are amazing and helpful. Overall, a really good place to stay in a nice area of Laureles. The pillows and beds are plastic. While this keeps it hygienic, it's loud and crinkly.

- Deborah (4/5): this place is not ready yet - quiet, near to lots of restaurants, warm shower constant construction, upper floor smelled of sewage. cleaning staff was really disrespectful (literally clean the bed while you‘re on it, changing). bedframe is loose pieces of wood that move, easy to drop everything under it. matrace is covered in plastic under a sheet so get ready to sweat a lot.

My mattress had a plastic protector and no topper making it uncomfortable to sleep on. Also there was only a very noisy fan unit making it difficult to sleep. I had to leave the bathroom window and door open to try to get cool.

Only two bathrooms for showering and toilet and one was broken! Rooms are cramped. Two guests took the entire floor up with their bags (even though there are lockers). The tiles on the floor were missing. My bed didn’t have a privacy curtain. Your stuff can fall off and behind the bed so you have to crawl over someone else’s bed to get it. Not a very well thought out bedroom and bathroom design.

- Jez (10/5): Exceptional - I kept extending my stay cause I really liked it here. Staff is amazing, so attentive and really kind. It's worth staying there just for that. Great location, walking distance to all the bars/restaurants/metro station on the main street. It's peaceful at night. There's a kitchen with all the equipment, they clean throughout the day and offer laundry service. It's not a busy hostel (which I prefer) but still was social enough.
