• David (10/5): What a gem of a place - Spotlessly clean, welcome air-con in the rooms, Ritual toiletries, free bottled water, very helpful staff, easy access to the tube (with Wembley just up the line, very nice breakfast, beautiful building. The way the TVs are attached to the walls means that the wires don’t fit into the TV properly, so you have to jiggle them about to stop pixelating

• Caroline (10/5): Perfect spot in NW London - Our room was very spacious with comfortable mattress and good pillows. The bathroom was just beautiful, newly done. Loved the decorative touches in the room. The breakfast was very good with sourdough, yogurt, granola, fruit, good jams and quality butter, boiled eggs, ham, pastries and juices. No big fry but that didn't bother me. The bar downstairs is beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere There is some traffic noise from the street, nothing extraordinary for London but just worth bearing in mind for anyone who is a light sleeper.

The sink kept gurgling every hour, then a group staying at the hotel came in at 4am and were singing and drinking in the hallways. The food in the pub was great, but the breakfast was not worth it. The noise in the room and other guests making so much noise. The breakfast was not great either, a selection of pastries and the coffee was cold!

• crkuffner (10/5): Gorgeous boutique guesthouse and lively pub! - The staff was amazing, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed interacting with them. The complimentary bottled water was a fantastic treat. Access to both the bus and underground lines were easy to navigate with Google Maps. It was a quick ride to the city center from the Jubilee line. The breakfast was presented beautifully and tasted great. The shower was slow draining, but once informed, the staff acted quickly to resolve the issue. The building and its architecture gorgeous! The rooms were well appointed and extremely clean. The stairs were a lot, but the staff helped us with our luggage. Would love additional area to store toiletries near the sink and in the shower, but overall, it was lovely. Our pub was definitely the nicest one in the area. We preferred going into the city or other neighborhoods to eat for lunch and dinner.

Bathroom contained a good size bath with shower over . Beds were comfitabke and the room was nice and warm. I noted an aircondtioner unit on the wall for hot days in summer. The breakfast was disappointing. A continental style breakfast. Was hoping to have a choice of a cooked breakfast but sad8ly not at this establishment. The menu in the pub was mainly indian food which was fast food and not particularly interesting. Pity because the staff were very friendly and accomodating.

In dem angeschlossenen, sehr schönen Pub haben wir unsere Erlebnisse vom Tag gerne nocheinmal Revue passieren lassen. Die Lage ist fußläufig zur Undergrund. Wenn man länger als ein paar Nächte bleibt, könnte das Frühstück etwas abwechlungsreicher sein.

• Julie (10/5): Super Clean and Super Comfortable - Probably the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in, rooms are immaculate and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Gorgeous listed building, friendly & efficient staff. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was good for cold continental, but would have been better to have a couple of hot options too and even a self service proper coffee machine rather than only filter available.

The staff took the trouble to text me to let me know I could check-in early, now that's a first... ...the room was large, impeccably clean and extremely well-appointed. The bed was colossal and comfortable. The pub itself is a visual, Edwardian delight with a massive range of draft beers, fireplaces and cosy corners. The staff are outstanding; helpful, gracious - nothing is too much trouble for them. They're really hit the sweet spot with this offer - all credit to the owners and the manager. This is a fine place to stay. Stairs are a bit steep but don't let that put you off...
• Utz-Falko (8/5): Schönes Hotel mit sehr guter Anbindung, aber leider mit kleinen Mankos - Wir hatten ein sehr schönes großes Zimmer das sehr geschmackvoll renoviert war. Der Pub ist wirklich schön und sauber, die Anbindung an den ÖNPV ist super, Bus vor der Tür die U-Bahn erreicht man in ca 5. Minuten. Leider war das Frühstück sehr überschaubar und die Hauptstrasse vor der Tür könnte für manche zu laut sein.
• Cheryl (10/5): Lovely boutique hotel - attention to detail was amazing - The attention to detail exceeded my expectations. The room was huge, beautifully decorated and was spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful, we had service with a smile from check in to check out. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The pub had retained it's Victorian charm and was warm and welcoming. We ate from the bar snack menu and the food was hot, fresh and tasty. I wish we had time to experience the main restaurant. I would stay here again without hesitation when we are next in the area.

Just as important was the delicious food available in the restaurant downstairs. Staff were very friendly and very quick to resolve a problem with electrics in the room. Breakfast was good but maybe just a better quality of cheese and ham perhaps but no real complaints. But it did the job!

I loved the room I stayed in, everything was clean and I was comfortable. I'd stay again. The road noise was pretty loud however I was happy to put up with it for the sake of my beautiful stay.

Just so lovely. The only slight downside was road noise but unavoidable and not a massive issue. Would highly recommend this hotel

The beds are comfortable and the bathroom has been modernized without losing its retro charm. The staff were friendly and courteous without exception. The breakfaat was tasty, we could choose from bread, cereals, fresh fruits and egg.

My room was perfect - attractive, warm and surprisingly quiet. (And everything worked, from the lighting to the TV and the key card!). Breakfast was most enjoyable, both food and surroundings. I'd highly recommend trying the restaurant in the evening, too.
• Bart (10/5): Wij komen graag nog eens terug naar The Black Lion. - Het prachtige pand, vriendelijk personeel, prima ontbijt, lekker eten in de pub, de schone kamers en sanitair. Wij vonden het een hele bijzondere ervaring om in dit hotel te verblijven. Zo'n mooi hotel voor deze prijs vind je niet in hartje London. Dan zit je waarschijnlijk in een bezemkast. Openbaar vervoer zit dichtbij. Het is een oud pand dus logischerwijs hoor je wel wat geluiden van medegasten. Daar kan je je druk om maken maar het hoort ook wel een beetje bij de sfeer van het pand. Het is niet de mooiste buurt waar het in staat maar daar is de prijs/kwaliteit ook naar.

• Martin (9/5): Cosy, comfortable traditional London Pub Boutique Hotel, albeit a little pricey. - Very nice, cosy, traditional UK pub/guesthouse. Nice decor. Very clean and tidy, especially the bathroom. Staff were very polite. Short walk to overland and underground stations. Sunday lunch in the pub was very good value for money. For the money I paid: Rooms are a little bit cosy, but perfectly ok for a short stay. TV was small, only seemed to have free to air channels. Would definitely have expected a cooked/full english breakfast in a traditional London pub, although the continental breakfast was nice.

• Robert (8/5): Pleasant comfortable stay in a nicely refurbished pub. - The rooms was nicely refurbished. Particularly liked the quality of the bathroom and linen / towels. Room on the small side but perfectly functional for 1. Room two to the left of the stairs means you hear all the foot traffic coming in at any time. Better coffee making in the room would be good and more diversity of food options in the pub. While a very traditional English style pub, it has lost some of the traditional elements the way it’s being run. Breakfast was slightly underwhelming too. In a pub, one tends to think of a standard English breakfast, rather than something you’d get at a 3 star hotel in Europe.

Bon petit déjeuner copieux (croissants, comme si vous étiez en France, de vrais croissants) mais... voir les point ''moins appréciés''. bouteilles d'eau à disposition ... A recommander Pas grand chose, une déception uniquement... vous allez en Angleterre, - vous attendez un ''English Breakfast'', je me faisais une joie de cela... déception, pas d'œufs au plats (œufs durs) pas de bacon, pas de Baked-beans... (la base pour un English Breakfast...) Une suggestion (au moins) installer un ''boiler'', afin de faire au moins des œufs coque si non tout parfait.

• Stefano (10/5): Consiglio, ottima scelta - Vicino (10 minuti a piedi) alla stazione metro di Kilburn (Jubilee Line), ben collegata anche con aeroporto di Heathrow (Elisabeth Line + Jubilee Line). Camera (Queen) perfetta. Ottima colazione (uova sode, formaggi, affettati, frutta, marmellate, ecc ecc .....non c'è la 'colazione inglese'). Il personale è gentilissimo e disponibilissimo. Aggiungerei la 'colazione inglese'
• Martin (9/5): Lovely pub, excellent food - Stayed overnight for Oasis at Wembley, which is nearby on the tube. We arrived in a torrential downpour, were quickly shown in by friendly staff and found a table for a delicious roast. Would definitely stay again. Great decor and atmosphere.
