- 180ji_k (10/5): A comfortable stay among the Alpine peaks - The hotel is an older building that has been renovated. Our room was surprisingly spacious – it seemed to be one of the largest double rooms in the hotel. The room was clean. The furniture wasn't new, but it was fully functional, not broken or unsightly. In fact, it created a pleasantly homely atmosphere. All the amenities in both the room and the bathroom worked well. The Wi-Fi ran without any issues. The windows can't be fully opened, only tilted for ventilation, but that wasn't a problem. Upon arrival, you'll receive a SommerCard at the reception – a discount card that you can use, for example, when buying a ticket for the cable car to Feuerkogel. You'll also get a map of the surrounding area and tourist attractions, including those where discounts can be applied. There's a parking lot in front of the hotel where you can leave your car. Behind the hotel is St. Joseph's Church, and that's a bit of an issue. The church bells ring from 6 AM to 10 PM. Our room was on the other side, so the bells weren't too annoying. However, on the side facing the church, it could be quite unpleasant. As other reviews mention, the breakfasts are quite varied and tasty. On the other hand - by the sixth day of our stay, I was looking for something new, but that's probably the case everywhere. I recommend renting bikes at the reception. They have trekking e-bikes (25 EUR/day) and mountain e-bikes (30 EUR/day). The bikes are in good condition, including the brakes, battery, etc. You can cycle around half the lake, go to Gmunden, or ascend to one of the surrounding lakes.
- David (8/5): Perfekt für berufliche Übernachtungen und Radfahre - Perfekte Lage nahe am See. Gute Infrastruktur in wenigen Gehminuten. Zimmer sind funktional aber ansprechend aushestattet. Gutes Frühstück. Die Ladestation für E-Bikes und Autos ist super!
- Kevin (6/5): - Leider entgegen der guten Rezensionen ein ernüchternder Aufenthalt. Im Badezimmer waren Silberfische und die Türzarge des Zimmers hatte einen Riss. Die Zimmerkarten haben nach dem ersten Tag nicht mehr funktioniert. Und das gesamte Gebäude wirkt sehr in die Jahre gekommen.
- Andrew (10/5): Great Stay, Shower Door needs some help - Loved everything about our stay except the shower door. It was difficult to keep the water in the tub.
- Eric (10/5): I would stay here again - This was a very nice hotel with excellent staff. We were very impressed with the room as it was so large. There was a living area, small kitchen, dining area, separate bedroom and a very large balcony. The only bad issue was we could not charge our hybrid car as hotel could not locate the card. I will definitely stay here again!
- Wayne (8/5): - Good place to stay if you need to stay in the area. Good value, good breakfast. The place is somewhat dated but seemed clean. During off season, evening dining can be somewhat of an issue with very few places open.

- Catherine (10/5): Hôtel calme et confortable - A quelques dizaines de mètres du lac, dans un emplacement calme, cet hôtel a de grandes chambres un peu vieillottes mais très confortables. Un souci au check out : l'hôtel n'avait pas eu les informations de paiement et nous demandait de régler la chambre déjà payée... Avec l'aide de l'opératrice de chat hotel.com et de l’hôtesse de l’hôtel (qui parlait français) cela a pu être réglé avec efficacité mais nous avons perdu 1/2h. A noter que le restaurant de l'hôtel est fermé le mercredi, mais il y a ce qu'il faut aux alentours et nous avons été bien conseillés.

- Sherpa243201 (10/5): Very nice hotel, great vacation - Everything was just fine during our 5 days holiday. We could choose between two upgraded rooms. Nearby church bells hardly audible in the morning when windows were closed. We got a pack of useful information material when checking in. Breakfast and half board excellent. Fast Wi-fi in the room. Friendly staff in the restaurant. Sauna working. Enough parking space.
- thomasbZ6635YI (10/5): The reception lady went above and beyond to call a local doctor, take me in her car to his office and pick me up after. - The room was great and storage + charging for our bicycles was very convenient. As noted above the reception lady Gerda Leitner was Outstanding!! She was my Austrian Angel on getting care for my injured hand. She "pegged the meter" on service above and beyond the call of duty. We highly recommend this hotel and their outstanding staff.
- Malenymac (8/5): Lovely hotel in a beautiful town - We had a lovely stay in this hotel which except for the nearby church bells ringing was very peaceful. The hotel is located on the northern side of the river which is probably the quieter side of Ebensee. The room we had was very clean and roomy. There are other rooms in the hotel with balconies which have views over the lake. The meals in the restaurant were very good and breakfast was well catered for and comprehensive. We staff were very friendly and accommodating.
- FarAway774865 (8/5): very accommodating of cyclists - Stopped here during a circuit of the Salzkammergut by bicycle. Dedicated bicycle garage with power for charging the electric bike batteries. Nice spacious room with self catering facilities if so inclined. Very friendly staff. Nice location by the lake and not far from anything although the town itself is not huge!
- Ej8585 (10/5): They have an Indian food month once a year!! - I went here last night with friends, after hearing that Landhotel Post has an Indian menu for one month out of the year. First off, this made me so happy to hear and I was skeptical but everything was wonderful! The staff was friendly, charming and very professional. I was very satisfied with the whole experience. Our food was served so quickly and everyone was very attentive to us. And to my surprise, the food was delicious! I shared a two person platter and we even had plenty of leftovers to take home. I wish they would celebrate Indian month more than just once a year but I guess i should just be greatful they have it at all. This was my only experience at this restaurant, however I will be back in the near future to check out what else they serve because they seem really great.

The food at the restaurant was excellent.The problems I found were:1) Housekeeping entered my room four times without knocking. I have never seen such rude behavior at any hotel.2) One waiter seemed to be new. He confused nearly every order, giving us wrong food and drink, and forgetting requests, Please make sure your new waiters are better trained.
- MikeBracknell (10/5): Great Restaurant - On our last night in Ebensee, we decided to eat at the Hotel Post. The service was excellent as was the food. Traditional Austrian food at sensible prices. Our vegetarian friend was well catered for and every one of the four meals was nicely cooked and very tasty.

The waiter was good and spoke excellent English however the receptionist was quite impatient and unfriendly. Rooms were good and spacious. Breakfast was simple but good.
- daveR1973 (10/5): Were back again. - Its still a great location for the Feuerkogel, boat trips, trains to Hallstatt, boat hire in Traunkirchen etc etc. On arriving received a great welcome, car parking no problem. Room very airy, but no aircon. Room cleaned daily and little noise. Breakfast is a little poor as they dont serve anything hot ~ a bucket of mini sausages would change this. th town only has a few restaurants and a single wine bar behind the building.
- Bart09v (4/5): More bad things than good - I stayed here one night with our bus tour in the alps. The only positive things about this hotel is location and friendly staff. Location is truly breathtaking. The thing I didn't particularly enjoy is room decor. But the absolute dreadful problem is that you have no place to plug your phone in, unless you plan to plug out lamp and TV. I was at the first floor and couldn't connect to their wifi because connection was too poor, evenmore, I was unable to connect even in the dining room during the breakfast. Dinner we had included in our stay was half decent even thought it could be much much better. Breakfast was really nice with lots of things to choose from. Another problem is road noise. Also, what annoyed me is that during dinner i ordered Coca Cola and got a glass of sparking water with a hint of Coca Cola for 2,80€ which is absurd. I know that hotels have big prices for beverages but this is just crazy, if i pay 3 € i expect at least fair product not this scam. Overall I wouldn't really recomend this hotel but if you're into traditional decor and wanna get away from everything it can be quite plesant.
- helgakash (10/5): Leisure - I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Had a lovely room, good food and a good breakfast buffet. I had wanted to go there for several years and finally made it. Took a boat cruise on the traunsee. The boat dock was just across the main road. You could walk there or drive, with parking. The boat trip took about 3 hours, stopping at all the towns on the lake. Just beautiful.
- whereisrick (8/5): Beautiful Location - Very Pleasant Hotel - We stayed here one night while on a bicycle tour and really enjoyed the stay. Comfortable, clean and the staff were enjoyable. A very nice breakfast in the morning. We love staying at the more quaint places while on holiday and this fit the bill perfectly. The location and views were fantastic but then again we were in the Austrian lakes region. We would stay again.
- sbizzle (8/5): Traditional hotel but some road noise - We stayed at the Post as part of our cycling holiday. The hotel is very traditional and we were met with a warm welcome. Our rooms were in a separate building and had the most amazing bi-fold windows which, when open, gave the most incredible view and feel. You really felt as if you were with nature. However, it rained for most of our stay!! We found the room hot, and so opened the window but then suffered from road noise, as the hotel is on a main road. so that is my main complaint. No tea-making in the room (fairly typical for Austria it seems).
- daveR1973 (10/5): Traditional Hotel in a Quiet Village. - Before you book, you must realise that this is not a big name chain hotel. Its a traditional hotel based in a quiet village. Dont expect Ibis or Travel lodge style of accommodation. On arrival the staff will be dressed in Austrian style clothing and you will be caterer for, regardless of what you ask for and in various languages. Your room will be in local style, plenty of wood, lace and net curtains. But very spacious and on a bad point, its too bright in the morning ~ light curtains waking us up early upon sun rise. Breakfast is buffet style, bread, fruit, cold meat and cheese. The car park is plentiful so no worries there either. Because this is a day time activity village expect some businesses to close early including the bar on a Sunday! Dont panic 'Wein Und Fein' or 'Flamingo's' is not far away. Overall an enjoyable stay with no noise from adjacent rooms, the odd train passes and the church behind may chime ~ but your on holiday so chill out.
- 849angelar (6/5): Close to Lake and Spar a 5 minute walk away! - Overall this is a nice place to stay, traditional styling and reception staff were friendly. The bedroom was like staying at your grandma's with the old large teak furniture and lace tablecloths and the landing felt a bit like you were intruding with all the personal belongings....not just pictures but coats and shoes etc. I assume this is how its meant to be to give you that homely feeling (?) it wasn't for me. My complaint would be no shower, only a hand held one which I used as a shower as I do not have baths in hotels, also it stated there were hairdryers, you have to ask at reception and there are only 15 available so its pot luck...take your own! Breakfast was fine, not a massive selection but enough and dinner was good. Drinks: White beer and a large red wine was 8.20. The wifi can only be picked up in the reception area but is free. This is a beautiful area and the hotel being so close to the lake made for a lovely after dinner walk.
- GaryM847 (8/5): Reasonably Priced Stay In The Salzkammergut - We came across this hotel in the early evening after having trouble finding a place to stay in the Traunsee area. The main building is an old inn dating from the 1500's that has been kept in excellent condition. The room we got was in a relatively new annex, dating from what looked like the 50s or 60s. It was very large, comfortable and well furnished. Our only complaint was that there was no air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We also ate dinner in the restaurant. Service and food was very good. While it's not on the lake or in a very picturesque part of town, we enjoyed our stay.
