Guest Reviews
- Liesl (9/5): One night stay good, close to the train station. - It was clean, quiet and a comfortable bed. The bakery next door is amazing. The empty buildings
- Mirtha (10/5): Clean, location and Price - The staff were great and very helpful, they have us many options to move around city. The place was clean, the location is great, you can move around the city walking. No complaints I'm pretty satisfied with everything I would definitely book again when I come back to Rome.😀
- celine (10/5): Logement, parfait bien situé propre et communication. Impeccable. - La décoration et la propreté Rien
- Anniina (10/5): - Perfect small hotel, well equipped room with comfy bed. Walking distance to restaurants, near tram and bus stop. Grocery stores near.
- Arianna (10/5): Tutto bello - Tutto era perfecto e pulito, ci ritornerò Tutto
- Maria (10/5): - Such a cute place and suited our needs. The staff was so helpful and communicative. We only stayed one night but enjoyed it. The only thing that could have been better was the air conditioner. It worked but was on the struggle bus. Overall though we were happy with our room.
- shari (10/5): -
- Antigoni (10/5): 10/10 Definitely recommend - Our room was exactly as pictured with daily cleaning service ensuring it was spotless. The mattress is very comfortable as well. The location is exceptional with all stations you ‘ll need to get to the centre or the airport being a short walk away and a short commute. The area felt pretty safe even late at night. Lastly the staff was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to make our trip as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
- Pieter (10/5): -
- Jianshu (10/5): -
- Evelina (10/5): - Not a great area around
- Denise (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great! The neighborhood is quiet and residential, with a grocery store immediately downstairs. It was a 20-30 walk to what we considered a more interesting part of the city near the Pantheon or Colosseum.
- Julie (10/5): - We loved our stay, and found the location really convenient. Staff was responsive and very flexible about checkin and holding bags for us.
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were immensely helpful before and throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and clean. Check in instructions were clear and easy to follow.
- Christopher (10/5): - Trastavere Paper Suites is an ideal location for travelers. My wife and I enjoyed the hospitality of this "Guest House" for just a couple of days and were impressed with the comfort and great hospitality from the staff. Giselle 9?) and another member answered our many questions about arriving there by public transportation, and how to navigate the public transportation to the beautiful sights of Rome. They even had a list of great Trattoria for us to sample if we wished, and gave great advice on what to look for and why, with regards to eating. Just around the corner was a small store to buy water and other sundries; and Trastavere provided a great breakfast with cappuccino each day. We at first were confused as to the location: it is just a few minutes from the Trastavere/Roma main train station, but if you look for a "hotel" you are not going to find it. Instead, this unassuming little gem is amid an urban setting which includes a small outdoor cafe and apartments. It has an old fashioned "lift" which accommodates about two people with luggage. Secure entry and code. Clean, comfortable, great shower and bathroom. Every day our bed was made and fresh bath linens provided. We were very comfortable coming "home" to here each night of our visit.
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the place and the location and very friendly.
- Adriana (10/5): - Room was clean and staff very friendly
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - What a great stay we had. The staff were so welcoming, attentive and professional. The room and breakfast excellent and the location brilliant
All in all, a wonderful stay.
- Sharon (10/5): -
The communication from the owner was fantastic before our arrival. They offered helpful advice on how to get to the apartment and provided very clear instructions for accessing the property. Ongoing communication via WhatsApp was excellent—any questions or issues we had were promptly addressed.
The room was beautifully presented—both in terms of decor and cleanliness. The breakfast was also very good and just what we needed to start each day.
The only downside was the internet connection. We experienced ongoing issues with the Wi-Fi, which became our biggest frustration. Although the owners did everything they could to resolve it, the unreliable connection did impact our stay. With a teenager in tow, we had hoped to relax in the evenings and stream Netflix together, which wasn’t always possible.
Location: Our initial impression of the area was mixed. We didn’t expect to be in a residential apartment block, and the surroundings felt a bit rough around the edges at first. However, after spending a day in the area, we began to feel more comfortable. Coming back in the evenings did make us slightly apprehensive, simply because it was a quiet, unfamiliar residential area behind the main road.
This isn't meant as negative feedback—just an honest reflection of how we felt, given that it’s not the kind of environment we’re used to. Overall, the location proved to be very convenient, with easy access to Trastevere train, bus & tram stops. Would we stay here again? - Yes. 😃
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - It was top! We would certainly book again here if we return to Rome!
- Autumn (10/5): Comfortable lovely apartment. - The room was updated, spacious, very clean, well decorated. Loved the comfortable bed and very fluffy comfortable pillows which is rare to find in Italy. Also appreciated the large TV in the room. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions. WiFi on 5ghz works great. We were provided a lovely breakfast to our terrace. Location has plenty of restaurants in walking distance and easy drive to the airport. We used street parking, which we had no problems with.
My only suggestion would be to include photos of the building and how to get to the correct elevator. We found both a bit difficult to locate .
- Wjg (8/5): Nice stay and nice owners - Service and the room Breakfast every day the same
- Johannes (10/5): 10/10 - For independent travellers, this accomondation offers all you need for a comfortable trip to Rome. Easy walking distance from Trastevere train station (trains to/from the airport every 30 minutes for only €8), and close to tram and bus stops (20 minutes to the centre of Rome for €1.5). The apartment has good access arrangements; the rooms have comfortable beds; the facilities were very clean, with a great shower; there was a small fridge, a kettle and coffee maker, and good heating/aircon. Everything looked neat, tidy, and modern. I couldn't fault the friendly service and communication, both before and during our stay. The area is a bit more gritty in character than the centre of Rome, but we never felt uncomfortable, even after dark. We felt like we were in 'the real Rome'. There are plenty of cafes, small shops and places to eat. We liked the cafe on the ground floor of the building, and we had some great wood-oven pizzas at a small pizzeria called Pepito's, near the Ponte Testaccio. I can only recommend. The list of places to eat did only contain the names of the restaurants. A short review/recommendation of each of them would have been helpful. The breakfast was simple but practical and plentiful. In fact, it was more than we could eat and we felt a little guilty about food waste.
- Francesco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, well connected to various points in Rome. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, provided us with useful information and was always ready to answer any questions. The room is very clean and regularly tidied up. Delicious and fresh breakfasts. We really enjoyed our stay at this place and will definitely return. A great choice for both a few days or a longer holiday. Highly recommended! 🧡 Everything was perfect
- Karla (6/5): - This is actually an apartment in a regular housing building. The apartment was clean and cute. The only negative was the location and the fact that many homeless sleep outside building. Went out at night but did not feel safe. Location is what kills this apartment. Would not recommend to solo female or to anyone scared of elevators (tiny older unit) It’s located on 5th or 6th floor and It was like double stairs (10-12 flights of stairs). I wish it was in other location because apartment was nice and clean.
- Ieva (10/5): Very close to Roma Trastevere station - The room features normal-sized windows that allow in plenty of daylight, a detail that isn't always standard in Rome. It also boasts a huge bathroom and a clean, comfortable bed. For those traveling from Fiumicino Airport, the location offers the convenience of taking a train to Roma Trastevere station, which is just a short 5 to 7-minute walk from the property. The bathroom has a fun feature with colored lights! You can change the colors based on your mood or simply turn them off if you prefer. It adds a nice little touch to your space!
- Abigail (10/5): - Very nice!
- Paulus (10/5): Can highly recommend this place - Great location for Monteverde. Very clean rooms, and very comfortable and nicely decorate.
- Kathryn (10/5): Great Stay in Trastevere - Three friends spent two nights in this clean and comfortable room in Trastevere. Very hospitable hosts with clear directions of how to access the rooms via a small elevator. Our hostess arranged early morning transport to FCO. Transport was prompt and friendly. Great value for the $.
- Razmik (10/5): Wonderful place & wonderful host -
- Paola (10/5): What a fanatastic accomodation! Giselle was a fantastic girl, too. 💕I really recommend, it's 10/10✨ -
- Mika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Stay in Quiet Neighborhood - Gracious hostess, extremely helpful. Quiet neighborhood. Grocery next door.
- Lone (10/5): Høj service og lækkert værelse - Den sødeste og mest servicemindede receptionist. Lækkert værelse. Nem adgang til offentlig transport.
- Cristina (10/5): Great accommodation and location - The accommodation is super clean, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is equipped with everything needed and the breakfast is served in the room. We really enjoyed our stay and will happily come back.
- nathalie (10/5): Tres belle chambre - Tres belle chambre propre et bon petit déjeuner et bon accueil. Tout etait parfait
- Jessie (10/5): - Trastevere Paper Suites was the perfect choice for our recent trip. It is located conveniently close to Trastevere rail station, which has direct access to the airport. We also went on a cruise, and the station was convenient for travel to the port of Civitavecchia.
The room was clean, comfortable and the staff were polite and helpful. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to Rome.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place. Clean, good location. Good breakfast. -
- Natalia (10/5): - Our stay here was comfortable and the owners were so nice and suggested some great dinner places! It is not as close to the colosseum and other sites as we expected but the bus is close by or you can walk some. Breakfast was great and brought up to the room each morning. Would recommend.
- Amaranta (8/5): - .
- Lewis (10/5): Very nice room, very clean. Friendly staff. In a residential area. -
- Marcin (10/5): I am very satisfied with my stay in Trastevere Paper Suites - I hope I will come back. - I do recommend Trastevere Papoer Suites. The apartment looks great, it is very clean (everyday cleaning), the host is very helpful and friendly and the Italian breakfast is delicious. Hard to tell. I am satisfied with my stay and there is nothing to complain about.
- Andrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fatih (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simonita (10/5): - Love the personal services and people at this property. We booked the family room, which has one queen, two twin beds, and a balcony. Had wifi, air conditioning and use of a frigid. Helena sent us email and introduced us to Susannetta to book our Rome tours. Both was very responsive. Recommend booking only one tour per day because it can be exhausting due to the hot weather in August. The golf cart tour picked us up right downstairs. Giselle greeted us, helped us book local taxi, and provided great breakfasts. Bus 3 takes you to the Colosseum and Bus 8 to Plaza Venezia (City Center). The bus is an honor system. The owner Marco helped us book a private driver from/to cruise port and airport before arriving in Rome. Even taking my calls when it was late his time. Only wish they were able to provide two room keys for when our group split for one day. It was an overall great experience!
- Charnelle (10/5): - Hidden gem in an unlikely place. Not a conventional hotel or inn, but that never made it difficult to enjoy the lovely room and hospitality. Very clean throughout the bedroom and bathroom. Amenities were super. Team was very helpful and communicated through what’s app easily. Great details on how to check in.
Wonderful restaurant downstairs for amazing cappuccino and pastries in the morning. More difficult than expected to take the Rome transportation at night, many teams and buses do not run after 11. This is NOT a dealbreaker! And the property is fabulous!
- Wilbert (10/5): - Nice apartment - close to train station - limited dining options at night
- Tracey (10/5): Wonderfull - Great room and shower is fantastic and bed is very comfortable. We had a great stay and Giselle was fantastic and so helpful, she gave us breakfast every morning and suggested great places to visit. Loved there was a lift and good location as close to the No. 8 bus and train station so definitely worth a visit 11/10 as couldn’t fault a thing. Nothing at all
- Michele (10/5): Cozy spot in Trastevere! - Amazing stay in Trastevere, within walking distance of the train station (easy access to airport and cruise terminal) and bus stops (easy access to tourist spots in Rome). Super comfortable, large room and bathroom, and Giselle was so accommodating - she gave us tons of recommendations on where to go and what to eat. Would recommend!
- Alex (10/5): - Very easy check in process. Loved that it was super close to train station. It was comfortable and clean. We also checked in late and left early so we were left a few breakfast items in our room for the morning. We didn’t realize it is slightly a shared space so keep that in mind when booking
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeannie (10/5): - Staff was very helpful even though we never meet them. Instructions on how to get in room were spot on. Would definitely stay again
- Rachel (9/5): Great stay, gorgeous room. Very helpful host who gave us some great local recommendations - Beautiful, clean and spacious room with big bathroom.
- David Lawrence (10/5): - The room was very clean and very accessable to major landmarks by street car or bus. The reception lady was very nice and she was very helpful and informative.
Torneremo senza dubbio.
- Colin (10/5): - The room and staff were great. Access to transportation was good.
- Nirav (10/5): Superb Stay - Superb Arrangements No Complaints
- stephen (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable. Giselle was helpful in assisting us with transportation needs and restaurant recommendations etc. Easily accessible as well. Quick bus ride/uber into the city center. Wonderful stay, would book again.
- Maris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Really enjoyed my two night stay here. Note, this is not a conventional hotel but three separate hotel-like rooms inside what appears to be a multi-story condo building. The room I had was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed, and the private bath was very nice with a walk in shower, toilet, and bidet. The room faced the interior courtyard which was a plus as it was very quiet. The location is very convenient as it just a short 5-10 minute walk from the Trastevere train station and very near the #8 tram. Just across the river is a great food market (Mercato de Testaccio), perhaps a ten minute walk. Check in instructions were a little complicated as you first need to get into the building lobby (which is locked at times), then up to the sixth floor where there is an electronic lock that opens the door to the three rooms that comprise the Paper Suites. Luckily when I arrived the building lobby door was open, otherwise one of the owners (or someone else) would have to let you in. Not an issue as communication with the owners was very good. Once you are checked in you get a key that lets you in the building.
- Daniel Francis (10/5): - Mike, who is an owner or manager was so accommodating, he stopped by the property to make sure we had everything and were settled in. In the morning, Giselle, brought us coffee, croissants and yogurt. Giselle also arranged for a taxi to the airport. Michael gave us a list of great restaurants in the area. Altogether, a great place.
- Trevor (10/5): - The room was beautiful and comfortable. The shower was amazing! Giselle at the front desk was so wonderful and welcoming! She gave us several good recommendations and we did go to most of the places she suggested! We even made it to Osteria de Fortunata which delicious!
Giselle made us breakfast in the a.m. which I am missing so, so much now. It was always hot and delicious! If we travel back to Rome, I would not hesitate for a second to stay at Travestere Paper Suites again. Thank you, Giselle and staff! A
- Abieyuwa (10/5): Exceptional - The room was excellent, clean and well furnished.
- GLORIA (10/5): - My sons and i have an excellent time staying at Trastevere Paper Suites. They were super friendly and attentive. Place is quiet and their breakfast was right what we need before to start our day. We Will absolutely come back to this place. Love it!
- Samer (8/5): - Zimmer sehr schön.Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit .Verkehrslage
sehr gut.
- Maile (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay here. The hospitality is so wonderful and Giselle made us feel at home! Trastevere is a great place to stay if you want more of a local vibe it’s pretty easy to get around from the area. It was a little confusing to find at first but the host helped us and it was easy after that! The room is very clean and when you are out and about they clean the room. Highly recommend staying here!
- Philipp (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay at this place. Very clean, modern, great staff, amazing breakfast, and overall good vibes. Would definitely stay there again.
- Caroline (9/5): Lovely place. Clean and felt homely - The room is spacious and has recently been nicely renovated. Nice deco and very clean. The area is cosy, quite residential, chilled and interesting to see, as you get a glimpse of how romans live. It's 4 bus stops from the centre of Trastevere which is a very lively place to go out. The staff were very accommodating and happy to help us with many things (from last minute breakfast requests to extra electricity plugs that they went out to buy for us). Extra bonus for this place, it is very easy and fast to get to from the airport. The bus from the city centre was always quite packed.
- Badlad53 (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean and comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating and communicative. The most challenging thing was parking, but it wasn't a big deal.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely apartment, close to tram and train lines, giving quick access to Rome and the Vatican.
Loved the room service breakfast.
Really helpful host.
(Note, read the emails about parking if you have a car)
- Christine (10/5): Book with confidence - Thank you Giselle and owner Max for a lovely stay. The room was clean and comfortable with a great shower! We love that area, full of cafés and restaurants. We felt more local than tourist.
The hotel is an easy walk from Trastevere Station making a trip from Airport seamless. So close to the Tiber and Testaccio market and about a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum and the heart of history.
- Curtis (8/5): Place is great for short stays! - We didn’t opt for the breakfast because of the additional charge. It would have been nice to have the breakfast included. The place was clean inside and our hostess was terrific. The surrounding neighborhood was less desirable but not horrible. A bit to congestive especially with luggage.
- Djenna (9/5): Superb - Nice appartement with really caring hosts. Everything was always clean, and the bedding is comfortable. We had a nice time there! There could be some noise from the neighbors in the evening.
- Amy (10/5): Spacious room in Rome - The room is very spacious with a great shower. In a great location just slightly out of the city but you can get into the city easily with the tram - takes 10 minutes and they’re so regular. They delivered breakfast to our room the next day and it was lovely to enjoy it on our private balcony. A lovely property Nothing
- Lukas (10/5): Great place to stay in Rome. - Good breakfast, ability to choose from a menu, just lacking more warm food options than sandwiches.
Very clean room. Spacious and welcoming. Exceptional customer service. A bit hard to find a parking spot in the street.
- Oussama (10/5): Excellent stay hidden in Rome - Lovely and helpful host with great communication and desire to make the stay worthwhile.
Good location, not in the city center that is easy to access.
The rooms are very cosy and well equipped, and the breakfast is given by the host herself.
All in all, a very lovely place to stay.
- Ankita (9/5): Superb -
- Lacie (10/5): - I stayed in Trastevere Paper Suites apartments for my mom’s birthday in Dec.
Leading up to our stay we were kept well informed and the staff at the apartments were always very accommodating. I requested fruit and Prosecco with a happy birthday message in the room and this was very nicely done.
Helena was an excellent host, providing great recommendations, advice about travelling around Rome and also information regarding check in and check out via WhatsApp.
The apartment itself was initially a bit tricky to locate when in a taxi however once we had found it it was easy to travel around. Very good walking distance to both train and tram, and Trastevere main town.
The apartment itself was very clean, modern and comfortable.
We had a great stay and would highly recommend. We felt safe and in good hands with someone always at the end of the phone if needed.
Thank you for having us.
Consigliata.
- Žídková (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent communication, clean lovely room, really recommend it.
- Michał (10/5): Exceptional - I couldn't choose better. Perfect location even if not in center of Rome. Tram which runs every 10mins is just behind the apartment and takes you right to the city centre in 12-15 minutes.
Apartment itself spotless and cleaned daily
Fresh breakfast in great portion always on time
Personel Giselle and Max always ready to help
Thank you very much guys. Definitely recommend
- Hanna (8/5): - We had a great stay at Paper Suits. Helpful and super sweet staff. The room was big, welcoming and stylish.
The location is a bit in the outskirts of Trestevere, and close to the Testaccio Market and on Sundays is the large Porta Portese flea market just outside the door.
We’ll recommend this place!
- Vincent (10/5): Highly recommended - Nice firm bed and very clean room. Great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We initially had some difficulty finding the place because our online navigation system sent us in the wrong direction. Therefore, more specific directions from the local train station would be useful.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Such a lovely room! well decorated and clean. The staff Marco (owner) was so helpful . Gisele... very helpful and knowledgeable! We could not have made it with out her assistance! The breakfast delivered to our room was delish and plentyful. A must stay if ever in Roma!!
- Carolyn (10/5): Great value for a lovely room - Lovely room, all new, fancy lighting. Breakfast w/ heavenly fresh croissants brought to your room every morning. Very secure, behind 3 door codes to get in. Check in at almost any hour.
Trastevere neighborhood is gritty, true Rome. Everything you need is within a block: tram, bus, grocery, Tabacchi to buy Metro Tix, etc. Ride the train from airport FCO or cruise port Civitavecchia directly to Trastevere train station, walk a couple hundred yards to this hotel. A little hard to find, but you get a sheet of directions before you arrive.
- Robert (10/5): It is a really great place to stay. It was fantastic. -
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eliza (10/5): - Location is in a good place, walking distance to train (7min) and tram (5 min), train will take you to Saint Peter's Square and tram to coliseum.
Apartament is nice, clean and breakfast were lovely. There are lots of places to eat near the apartment (even McDonald's is 5 min away) and a market on Sunday almost at the doorstep.
- Stefan-flavius (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sari (10/5): Exceptional - The staff are extremely helpful and friendly
