Guest Reviews
- Alan (10/5): Perfect - Beautiful haven of calm close to the bustle of Rome - there was always a sigh of relief as we stepped through the gate at the end of a day exploring Rome. Pool and Jacuzzi were both very welcome but the calm of the gardens, in the warm Roman October evenings, lit by the garden lights was my best memory. Nothing not to like with the property which exceeded expectations!
We travelled by train and if anyone else does, it is an easy one stop bus journey or 20 min walk from La Giustiniana train station, but at the end of a long train journey from London to Rome we had to catch metro and overland public transport - both very cheap and perfect for popping in and out of the city. Easy connections but note that there are two different surface transport options from the metro - local train line and national rail line. Both go in the direction of Viterbo, and both have a stop at La Giustiniana. Only one of these La Giustinianas is anywhere near the Torre! We accidently took the local train line and found ourselves in the middle of a bit of suburb 40 mins away from the Torre and no easy way to get to the right La Guistiniana!!! It was easy to go back into Rome and back out to the right La Giutiniana, but would have prefered to be sitting in the grounds with a glass of chilled Prosecco (cheers Fabrizio!) than reprising our journey!

- Michele (10/5): - A unique property situated in what could be called its own park that is close enough to Rome to give you the benefits of a big city while still giving you the solitude of the countryside. Would really recommend for solo travellers looking for somewhere easy to get away from it all. The main living area apart from the jacuzzi suite is on the ground floor so the tower doesn’t seem too big (although it is big) and the size of the grounds and the location of the swimming pool lets you know that you are spoiling yourself. I am already looking forward to my next “alone time” break at the tower. Nothing

- Caroline (7/5): - We stayed as a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children. First of all, we would like to say Fabrizio could not do enough for us if there was an issue. He was lovely and was always in touch on WhatsApp, this was a bonus. I just wish he’d greeted us on day 1 (see ‘what could improve’). However, he makes this place and his sister and Fabrizio are absolutely fab and want to make you comfortable. Fabrizio went over and above, like buying brand new cutlery when there was some missing, producing a brand new ironing board when we asked for one. I had a conversation with him about our huge mosquito bites, and our spray wasn’t effective - he went out and bought insect repellent spray, including a junior version for the children! – this went over and above and was never expected but greatly welcomed. He provided us with recommendations for the supermarket, restaurants and an amazing cheap and always available parking spot right near the colosseum, which avoided the ZTL (road toll) zones. That was a treat and was only €4 to park all day - I won’t say where it is, as everyone will park there, but little things like this were great.
The privacy of the tower is excellent and you are away from everything in a gated estate with incredible security access features, with lovely gardens and parking spot. TV in every room, but also quiet spots to read / contemplate.
The beds were comfortable and the minimalism of the bedrooms add to a country feel. The hot tub on the top floor is lovely, with power jets, which we used every night. They even have tea and coffee facilities up there!! The TVs all have access to Netflix etc, you just have to put your own account in there (making sure you sign out when you leave - we had to sign other people out!).
The air conditioning in the Tower was excellent, a bit too excellent sometimes and we had to turn it off sometimes - which was a first! This is difficult to provide a negative review as Fabrizio and his sister were so lovely. But we have to highlight the negative points, which couldn’t be fixed when we were there, as we either discovered these as we were about to leave or to too late or too big an issue to do anything about it.
First of all, it was expensive. It was on Booking.con for over €7000 for 4 nights, but the booking made out we had over a 75% discount and cost us just over €2000. I noticed on other sites, it was also over priced with a discount. This was never a €7000 villa! We could have stayed in a luxury hotel for 4 nights for this price, and so we had to compare that level of cleanliness and presentation to a 4 - 5 star hotel or other places we had stayed, some were also just under €2000 for 4 nights.
The cleanliness was OK, but at this price, it really needs a deep clean more often (extensive cobwebs, thick dust under the beds, kitchen fridge was pretty grim - but we did highlight that and it was immediately rectified -fair play), surface dust in many places between second and third floor as well as high cobwebs (incl 2nd floor bedroom). Attention to the fine detail in cleaning was missing. The bathrooms however were spotless! The water quality in Rome had calcified on the shower head leading to reduced pressure - (again, we mentioned this and it was rectified to some degree - cleaned but not decalcified) This concerns us as it’s a risk for Legionella. I have asthma and a lung condition, so the dust and the risk of legionella was a concern for me and I was using my inhaler more often.
Cupboards in the property were full of stuff just haphazardly shoved in.
There were lots of unused or partially used ambient food items in the kitchen. This was both a positive and a negative, salt/pepper/olive oil was really handy to have in, but where jars of items were partially used we avoided those as they had no indication of how long they’d been opened for.

- Chimane (10/5): Our last stop as we walk to Rome. What an amazing way to spend our last evening. The entire property is very special. A - The property is like a fairytale. The grounds are beautiful and the tower itself is luxurious. We loved it all.
- Ramesh (10/5): Perfect for a relaxing, peaceful time. - This was an absolutely UNIQUE location and just the place that my wife an di were looking for to enjoy a few days of absolute peace and quiet.
It was so large and serene and i have never seen another location like this.
The host was also eager to please. Nothing to not like. Simply perfect.
- Martyn (9/5): Really enjoyable. Would come back - A fantastic and romantic destination just outside of Rome, it gives you a real sense of excitement to stay in such an old building and imagine all the history. Fabrizio's welcome was great. He communicated really well throughout our stay and provided some excellent restaurant recommendations. You really need a car to stay here. The hot tub room on the second floor was my highlight. The bed was really comfortable. The pool looked lovely, but unfortunately we didn't get an opportunity to use it as the weather wasn't great. My wife found the decor a bit imposing/manly. I didn't mind. Personal preference really. The living area would be great for a small party/dinner party but wasn't that comfortable to sit in. Outdoor seating was limited - some more benches and tables in sunny spots would be lovely. There is some road and train noise but we weren't disturbed by it.
