Guest Reviews
- Melissa (8/5): - Overall this was a great Property for my family. We are a family of 4, we had a cozy 2 bedroom unit, complete with sitting area and backyard. The second bedroom had 2 twin beda which was great for the boys not having to share a bed. Things to note...the hotel is up on a mountain, you need a sturdy vehicle to do the drive. Once we got in for the evening we did not leave because the drive up is a bit difficult un the dark. There is a restaurant and bar, we had dinner there every night. There were a few instances in which certain items were not available, but everything we did order was excellent, Chef Daniel was great in the kitchen. The unit was very basic, no tv, no AC, no coffee maker or microwave. Being up in the mountains, it got cooler in the evening so we were ok with just the fan. We enjoyed our stay, Gigi and the staff were very friendly, they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.
- david (10/5): - Very beautiful, quiet, friendly employees, kid friendly
Upna steep hill but its BEAUTIFUL and feels very jungle like logive them 10 stars
- Heather (10/5): - I loved this hotel!!! we will be back
- Keri (10/5): Gorgeous stay!! - Beautiful place!! Amazing experience!! Highly recommend staying here!!
- Danny (8/5): - Excellent area, and offers bike trails and hiking trails, nice pool
- David (10/5): - The views were spectacular, and the pools were very pleasant. The restaurant was wonderful. We were there at a hot time of the year and there was no A/C, but plenty of fans and shade.
Be aware that the road up is rough.
- Thomas (8/5): - Beautiful views
- Zhanna (10/5): - Property has amazing views of the nature, good breakfast options. Getting uphill was a bit challenging with a small car but views were stunning.
- Jen (8/5): - We loved the views from the restaurant and pool area.
Our room
It’s actually better than the photos, however we would have liked a more kitchen equipment.
We booked the room with kitchenette, It had a lovely big dining area and kitchen but only a fridge and kettle nothing to cook with.
The bed is lovely and comfortable and the extra fan was really good to have.
- K (10/5): - Beautiful outdoor setting at the top of the hill, with beautiful blue pool and string lights. Great views of the surrounding area and nature. The cottages are clean and well done. Surrounded by nature.
Good restaurant. We had pesto pasta with shrimps, and garlic shrimp. Strawberry daiquiri was also great.
The bike park and high end bike rentals sound awesome. We didn't try them.
Friendly service. We also happened to talk to some of the owners. Great to hear what they are trying to do for the local community as well.
Friendly service.
- Susan (10/5): - The resort and scenery is very beautiful, great food, and nice staff.
- Erin (10/5): - Great ecolodge
- Reg (10/5): - We loved our stay here. Gigi and the team looked after us really well. Nothing was too much to ask for. Great food available at the restaurant, the kids loved the pools and some good mountain bike tracks. Accommodations were very comfortable. Will definitely stay again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The only problem was in the beginning with booking when I booked a smaller room and they gave me problems exchanging it for a larger one as it was some special deal. Should have been done without issues as I was going to pay more for a larger room. Other than that our stay was flawless. Very comfortable large 2 bedroom casistas great for families, kitchen, outdoor sink to wash off the mud, very comfortable. The view from the pool deck was amazing, very pleasant staff, great food, enough vegan options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some bikes for rental needed work so check make sure all is in working order. Three swimming pools including a baby pool. Would definitely return.
- Raquel (10/5): - Great property for an overnight stay. Beautiful views, comfortable beds. Small bathroom but just enough for what we needed.
- Alejandra (10/5): Edén - Nature surrounded by a few fantastic humans :) great food and drinks !
- Marc (10/5): - Nice place, great views over Orotina. Minor criticism: the kitchenette area should have an electric grill or something for cooking.
- Nathalie (10/5): Extraordinary - Be ready for rough a ride up the hill and nothing around...but once you get there it's paradise. Perfect place to unwind far from city noise. (And no barking dogs!) Dani is a gem, speaks fluent English and super professional. We had a wonderful dinner and a great breakfast facing the mountains. You can even see the ocean. The little villas are rustic and super comfortable. I want to go back!
- Mangesh (10/5): - Tranquility and overall ambiance was beyond expectations, convenient yet minimalist! Host Danny’s helpfulness was way above par. Would certainly love to come back with family.
- stephen (10/5): - Beautiful little spot on top of a mountain with great views. Cabins hd everything you need
- Danielle (4/5): Look elsewhere. - Look elsewhere. The staff is friendly when you can find them. We stayed in a 2 bedroom casita, beds were full of bugs, not alive but just not what we expected. Bathroom was outdated and not clean, no ac and in San Mateo late march you need it. Was hard to sleep. The beds are very uncomfortable. No entertainment in casita. Three pools that were run down and outdated. Breakfast is free but very limited. Would not stay again.
- Scott (10/5): Love the Pad! - We have stayed here many times and every time have had a great experience! We love the comfort and style of the rooms, the pools, the restaurant and the attentive staff. We will definitely keep returning to the Pad!
- Jessica (10/5): Amazing and Unique! - Absolutely amazing property!! Total unexpected gem to come upon during our trip around Costa Rica! Great views and restaurant on site. Will absolutely be returning. Was one of the top highlights of our trip!
- Tessy (10/5): - Location- gorgeous views from top of the little mountain. Restaurant and pool very nice. Great comfortable sleeping with nice beds/pillows.
