The bathroom was the smallest I have ever been in. Approximately 1m x 1m, a toilet, shower, and sink. If you're over a size 12, you will struggle in there. You will bump your head, or back or arms just walking into the shower. I suggest removing the sink from the bathroom, and just use the one in the kitchen area. A constant beeping outside our room, every 5 seconds, like a fire alarm, with an expired battery. A broken fire alarm on the wall in the hall. A used condom packet found in the bin. The large amount of smelly rubbish outside the front of the building.

• Alejandro (4/5): Almost a Kitchen, Almost a Night's Sleep - We really appreciated the location — it was far enough from central London to be quiet and relaxed, yet very well connected by public transport. We didn’t even need to make any transfers to get to the city centre, which was super convenient. The customer service was also excellent. They had a 24-hour contact number and responded to our questions with impressive speed and great kindness. Unfortunately, there were quite a few disappointing aspects about the apartment. When we arrived, the bed cover had makeup stains, which clearly meant it hadn’t been washed. In terms of cleanliness, the toilet brush was in an extremely unpleasant state — it was honestly disgusting. The toilet seat was broken, making it very uncomfortable to use, and the positioning of the sink left very little space, which made going to the bathroom a real challenge. Another major issue was the light: a huge amount of it entered the room at night. Part of the problem was that the hallway light was always on, and it shone straight into the room through the door. We had to buy sleep masks and earplugs because the fridge made so much noise that we eventually had to turn it off. The first few nights were horrible, although we must say the bed itself was comfortable. One of the biggest letdowns was that the apartment is listed as having a "kitchen", but that’s misleading. A microwave, fridge, and sink do not make a kitchen. There were no facilities to actually cook food, which was a key reason we chose this place — we were hoping to save money by preparing our own meals, but we ended up having to buy pre-cooked food to heat up. Very disappointing. There was also no broom, no dish cloths or cleaning rags, so if something spilled or got dirty, we had to use toilet paper. The available utensils were extremely limited — barely anything to work with.

• Natali (5/5): Passable - When we arrived (at 10 pm) the room hadn’t been cleaned at all. We called to complain and they send someone to clean it within 30 min which ok. Obv they couldn’t clean much in 30 min so they just washed the floors and changed the sheets. Our room was directly on the street so it was quite noisy plus there is a hospital near by so a lot of emergency vehicles are passing on the street with sirens on.

The emergency number displayed on the site wasn’t working. They claimed they sent me temporary code that never worked, and they were doing trial and error of different codes 😒 No apologies for the ill treatment, instead the staff was rude, and even accused me of being rude. I will never recommend, terrible customer service. Stairs was dirty, room was dusty, obviously been a while it was used. Different room than the one I booked was allocated to me

There’s a great Peruvian restaurant round the corner. Extremely noisy. Lots of emergency vehicles going past the window through the night. The front door didn’t lock when pulled shut and as the internal door only locked if slammed, many people left it unlocked. I let the owners know immediately about the door but it was not fixed. It’s very small and there’s no storage for clothes.

Location was quite good to with lots of modes of transport near by for example Peckham Rye station and Peckham park road bus stop WE 1 min walk away. This lead you to attractions such as Borough Market (London Bridge stop M 14 min journey). No full length mirror. Very sensitive fire alarm - Upon first use of the microwave it set fire alarms off at 12pm disturbing other town house guests. We had rang the number on the listing and they were very helpful sending someone out in around 5 mins of the call.

Then I received a phone call telling me the room I had booked the previous guest had left there luggage in there and they were going to put me in another room. Then the key code for My room didn’t work and I was on the phone to a helpful lady who eventually got me in. The room was in the basement or as they call it lower ground floor. The whole place was claustrophobic. My room was a very narrow hallway/kitchen to a fold down bed which was surprisingly comfortable. There was a fold down table which hadn’t been wiped and had a sticky stain on it. The were some hangers to hang your clothes on. The room was very hot even with the radiator off. The worse was the tiniest bathroom ever. I hit my head on the light I’m 6’2” you kind of have to lean over the toilet to get to the worlds smallest sink. The shower I managed to squeeze into. Be warned the water pressure is enough to take your skin off. It’s very very powerful and dangerous. This needs to be looked at.

I “stayed” only long enough to stand out of the rain long enough to ring an Uber to leave which was less than 5 mins after I entered. I immediately requested a refund from hotels.com and advised them to stop selling this hotel. I took the Uber to stay there.

• Lindita (7/5): Essential facilities - This structure is perfect if you are looking for a trip to London. The price was really fair for London’s average and it had all the essentials to stay. Pay attention, the location is not the best because it’s not well connected with transportation, but it’s manageable A fire alarm woke us up in the middle of the night for two nights in a row, but the staff helped us in little time. The stairs and corridors are so narrow and steep, the staff should have mentioned it for people with difficulties.

Someone was supposed to refresh the room after a week, but in 12 days no one has ever cleaned the room or changed the towels. There was a leak from the ceiling one night that was raining. The guests next door were really noisy at night time, but I guess that could happen everywhere.

There was only 1 large plate and 1 small side plate, no wiping up cloth and only 1 tea bag, however B&M is literally directly opposite and is open till 8pm there’s also a large Asda 10mins walk to your left as you exit the place. Everything within the accommodation is clean well presented & modern. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Check in was simple. Communication with hosts great. Bathroom is incredibly tiny! But again has everything you need. I would visit again!

• Beckie (8/5): - Bijou apartment perfectly situated for exploring London. There is a small fridge, microwave and kitchenette which was really handy. I was lucky enough to be able to check in a little earlier and the communication from the team was excellent. There was some brief emergency maintenance work required during the stay and this was communicated well with guests. The room was clean, tidy and well maintained. Plenty of towels provided. It’s situated close to a supermarket and other shops, all within walking distance. Only issue was that it did smell quite strongly of cigarette smoke when I arrived as the windows were open and I think there were people smoking in the courtyard below. I would however happily stay again, due to the good location and helpful staff.

The people shouting on the street. The people coming into the property at 4am slamming the front door. They should not be allowed to make people pay for a room that doesn't allow you to sleep. The curtains are too short so all the light from the street (including flashing lights from trucks and emergency service vehicles) flood the room at night. The two plug sockets don't work. The front door onto the main road doesn't lock. Anyone can walk in off the street. I stayed here a few months ago in a different room and it was a great experience. But now I'll never stay here again.

• Giovanni (3/5): I HAD TO CHANGE HOTEL - They were fast in changing the room the first time and kind on the phone ALMOST EVERYTHING: The strange mold smell in the first room (see in the pics the outside), the lack in air conditioning in full summer, the lack of general mainteinance, the stange stain on my pillow and the position far away from the metro. They are VERY CHEAP BUT paying 1/3 more I could be in a cozy hotel in the centre of London. I mean the quality/price ratio is almost none. If I knew before about the inside and the position I would never booked them...

• Seun (2/5): Very poor - The hotel was very clean had access to WiFi connection. The bathroom/ shower room was way too small . As a pregnant women, I had difficulties using the shower. The shower was way too small could not fit in. The toilet was too close to the shower. There was Too many stairs to get to room as room was on top floor as a pregnant women me and my partner had difficulties accessing the room. It would off been nice to have a room on a lower floor. The room was too small for the price we paid for 3 nights was not worth the money.

• Charlotte (6/5): A pleasant budget room in South London for an overnight stay - I really liked that it was easy to check in, and that the bus route was very easy to get to. The facilities were good, and the room was clean. I was staying in a single room, and it was great to have a hairdryer/ steamer/ shower gel/ and a small kitchenette for when I returned from work. It is a great base for someone looking to stay on a budget in a single room. It is not in Southwark, but a short bus ride down the Old Kent Road. I'm familiar with the bus route/ area, so this was fine -- but it might not suit a tourist/ someone who isn't comfortable with buses -- however having said that, the buses are really easy to navigate, and you can get one bus into central london in about 30 min. The microwave is very high up. I know that this is due to making the most of the space, but it feels quite precarious, and a little dangerous to be lifting hot foods down. The pillows were a little flat, and the bed was so squeaky! I also think the automatic lights in the hallway were turning on every time I rolled over! This would be fine for one night, but as I was staying for three nights, I found that I was quite tired by the end of my stay!

• Ashleigh (10/5): Excellent short term spot in London - Spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable for a short stay. Lovely attention to detail. Excellent communication.
• Loana (10/5): Great stay in a lovely room - Very comfortable with all the facilities you need. Clean and crispy linen, I was surprised to find a steamer and hairdryer. It is self check in but the staff is highly responsive. I would defo come again Traffic noise but none of the property s fault if you want to be in the centre is the price to pay. They do provide ear plugs too.

• Kate (1/5): Bad - It has a steamer for clothes The smell is so bad. The shower leaked through the wall into the room. The bathroom was tiny which you can see in the reviews but I’d say it’s worse when you get there. I thought it wouldn’t be as bad as the reviews but it definitely is. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was close to the trains but it isn’t so not even a bit worth it.
