Guest Reviews
- Yashua (4/5): - Not the best service good tho.
- Db (8/5): Very good - Close proximity to the beach.... my nieces were able to go whenever they wanted. The owner was there and was very pleasant Nothing to complain about.
- Jim (8/5): - Great position very close to beautiful beach and bars and restaurants. Walking distance to Bridgetown. Clean neat and tidy with friendly staff and Mark the manager was great and helpful. Serviced regularly. Public transport very close as well,
- Zac (8/5): - Great location, nice compact room, good amenities in house and friendly staff. Very nice place and had a great time here.
- Zobida (8/5): Overall a great stay...minus the lack of water issue - Loved the convenience of the beach front and the the town nearby During our stay a water line must've been under repair.... we had little or no water from the first day....which made things horrible as we were a group of 10 ladies.... to add insult to injury.... the tanks at the back with extra storage....couldn't supply the rooms with water because on an electrical/pump issue......
- Hiroshi (8/5): - Very nice
- Carnel Odeon (8/5): - This is a good value for the money. Although it is not furnished like a more modern hotel, the amenities are satisfactory. There is a kitchenette in the room that provides flexibility and convenience regarding meal preparation, especially in the mornings for breakfast. There is no central a/c, but there is an a/c unit in the room, and if you get a suite, there is an a/c unit in the bedroom and a floor standing fan in the living room/kitchen areas. Overall, a decent accommodation right on the beach.
- Matthew (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mark (10/5): - Enjoyed it. Right in a beautiful beach
- Kate (8/5): Very good - The hotel was by the beach, with access from the hotel straight onto the beach,
There was a cafe and restaurant over the road, and there was a refrigerator in the room, which was useful.
- Tt (8/5): Very good -
- Damian (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you enjoy being close to the beach. The beach itself is beautiful and much nicer compared to others in the area. The accommodation was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable beachside getaway.
- Linda (5/5): It could be better. - Liked being close to the ocean. The description says that you can walk to the town of Bridgetown. It's doesn't tell you it's on the busiest road. The main road on the island. No sidewalks. It's just plain dangerous! The outside bar restaurant opens and closes when they feel like it. You have to watch your money too. They're not consistent with the prices, and the change you get back is sometimes wrong! The people in the office are great. Real friendly and helpful. The people in the bar not so much. The food was good but don't be in a hurry to eat. It's on island time. Would I stay there again, probably not.
- Nathan (9/5): Right on the Beach; dated but clean and spacious rooms. - This hotel is right on a beautiful white sand beach on Carlisle Bay. Our room was not ready so they upgraded us to a room with an ocean view. We were easily able to swim out to the nearest shipwrecks (about 200 yards), keeping an eye out for sea urchins along the way. Rooms were dated but clean. They took so long to prepare our breakfast that we nearly missed our ride. We had to take the meal with us. Also, there are not many restaurants nearby.
- Kerry (8/5): Great break and great part of the island - Staff and location Wish the bar was open later
- Roslyn (1/5): Terrible. Advertised as a 3 star beach front suite, more like a 1960s dive. - No hot water for shower. Nil facilities. Restaurant closed due to no patronage that day. Lucky to be rated 1 star not 3.
- Antony (9/5): Superb -
- Isaac (10/5): - Close to everything and great beach
- Vishal (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Camila and the general manager were super helpful! Huge apartment with everything I needed. Love the beach right in the backyard
- Barbiero (10/5): Exceptional - Almost everything. Camile was great. Tiny slow for breakfast.
- Janet (8/5): Very good -
- Elvira (3/5): Thankfully, it was a short stay. - The location was good. When we arrived, there was no soap, bedside tables and blankets in the room. The towels were very poor quality and greys in color. The hotel is very old and looks neglected.
- Russell (8/5): Great location, good food and friendly staff - Location and friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Missed a bedside light...
- Indya (10/5): - Made my birthday so special I will be back soon
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Conrad (8/5): Very good -
- Brandon (5/5): Horrible - The photos were nothing like what they showed online. Barely a view of the ocean. There was no hot water the entire stay. I got in late and the security guard gave me my keys and told me to check in with reception the next morning. The next two days, I never saw anyone at reception. While this place is a great location, it is a dump and a waste of money and they charge way too much for the value. Everything….starting with warm water.
- Cclutongirl (7/5): Don’t come with high expectations and you’ll have a great holiday. - The location is great. At the quieter end of Carlisle bay, away from all the larger beach clubs which the cruises use, they’re only a 10 min walk away along the beach if you want them though.
It’s functional and clean.
The free use of the sunbeds on the beach was great.
5 min walk to see the racehorses on pebbles beach in the morning.
Sage bistro across the road is a gem - blink and you’ll miss it though. There is definitely an apartment which is a booking.com cheap apt. It’s straight out onto the carpark and is sparse compared to those others we could see into.
The bar on the road opposite was very very loud one night until gone midnight but it was a Saturday night and Sandy lane gold cup night so that could have been the reason. The rest of the nights on a 4 night stay it was quiet.
Apartment is very basic but I was told this building is earmarked for demolition in the near future so they’re probably just eeking it out.
- Timea (6/5): Pleasant -
- Julian (9/5): Always a pleasure to stay at the Nautilus Suites - Self catering
Property is in the best location in Barbados Lacking hot water
- Deborah (2/5): Lovely spot beech perfect 👌 - On a lovely Beech. Rooms need upgrades windows patio doors old beds uncomfortable hot water only works sometimes shower heads need changing sofa old and uncomfortable 😣
- Penny (6/5): Expensive for a very basic suite, but the location on beach is wonderful. - The location was superb, right on a long sandy beach, beach shack served food and drinks. Sea was good for swimming once you got past the first big wave. Walking distance from Bridgetown. Although suite was large it was very basic, below the standard we expected. The safe didn’t work and there was limited hot water. Staff were a bit ‘take it or leave it’, except Nicole who was really helpful. There is nowhere to eat nearby after 5 or 6pm unless you walk into Bridgetown.
- Alfred (9/5): Fabulous - Great location, close to restaurants and Bridgetown, with a beautiful beach and fantastic view from the room. Friendly staff. Beach bar (separat) closed at 5pm
- Veronica (8/5): - If you're looking for a comfortable bed, clean room and can tolerate a drizzle of a shower (even after they sent someone to fix it), this is a great place to stay. Safe, steps from a beautiful clean beach with chairs and umbrella included, nice and helpful staff. Good restaurant and bar onsite, late breakfast or lunches til 6, lots of options nearby too. Right on bus route. Some might not like the bare bones rooms, but we were too busy touring the island or lazing on the beach to care. Would definitely go back.
- Timothy (4/5): - The staff at the Nautilus and the Bistro bar were excellent!! we had " queen" be. NOT it had stand pillows and not queen size pillows. The Bistro beach bar was open only till t5p.m. unless there was a conference. Should be open till 7 or 8. Room amenities were limited Had to get a new coffee maker. No proper utensils
- Betty (4/5): - The staff were wonderful and friendly. Very convenient to beach. Beach bar was well stocked and food was tasty. The room was misrepresented as a suite. It was very small with a double bed and not a queen. There was no dish soap in the kitchen. The sheer curtains on the sun beds on the beach were torn or missing. It was dirty and just looked gross. The hours for the bar/restaurants were inconsistent.
- Kevin (7/5): Great location but dated accomodation - The property was directly onto the beach at Carlisle Bay
Beach view apartment on the second floor
Quiet air con Very like a 1990s motel.
Furnishings were dated bathroom especially
No kettle
Had to walk through reception at the front of the property and through car park to access the beach
- Krista (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (7/5): It’s a lovely, cool, clean apartment looking over the beach. Only here the weekend, wish it was longer - Great location onto beach. Quiet at night. Air conditioning in bedroom. Plenty of room. Having a kitchen. I would expect a little washing up liquid maybe oil, salt & pepper in kitchen? Found it difficult to operate tv and safe deposit box.
- Diane (2/5): Stay someplace else! - The only good thing about this hotel is the beach. It had a nice covered area and bar but both closed up at 5 pm. The room was the worst I have ever stayed in. The entrance was in a concrete hallway so no outside sitting area. The inside was a disaster. You could see daylight along the sides of the door when closed. The “apartment “ had one chair in the supposed living room. That’s it.There was no hot water except in the kitchen sink so no shower. Tiles were missing in the shower and no drain, only an open hole. The bed had only a sheet for cover. No blanket anywhere in the room. When I tried to call the office, the phone didn’t work. I had to use the 2 beach towels as a blanket. There is a light outside the window in the kitchen and no covering on the window so it lights up the room all night. The beach area closes up at 5pm. There is food availabile but not sure where it’s cooked. There is no visible restaurant. I’m grateful I only had to stay 1 night before heading to the cruise terminal.
- D (7/5): Good -
- Marcus (6/5): Pleasant -
- Paul w (8/5): - Limited ac, to far to walk to tours and stores etc. kitchen not stocked good. Staff good, manager quick to solve problems. Bed was not good for 2 adults, one small and Ione large
- Lobe (6/5): Pleasant - The beach location was excellent. Service with beach chairs and umbrellas was excellent. The apartment was very tired. There was an air conditioner in the bedroom, not in the main living area. There was a floor fan that sounded like a jet engine. Ceiling fans would be a a great inexpensive addition.
- Sharon (6/5): Great location fair room - The location is excellent. Beach chairs were included and there was a nice outdoor shower to rinse off. There is a large tent with a bar, tables and chairs where you can get a drink or snack. The room is not very comfortable. Basic, sparse and hard futon. The patio table was very wobbly. Dishes but no dishwashing soap😞.Our air conditioning was broken, but fixed the next day. Very hot and stuffy 1st night.
- Michael (9/5): Great break in the beach - Right on The beach self contained unit fully functional kitchen
- Jage (7/5): Good - Location. Beachside. Nothing. All good.
- Yana (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jane (8/5): Self catering in Barbados 🇧🇧 - Excellent location right on beach. Friendly staff.
Everything we needed in the apartment.
Close to all the beach clubs savvys boatyard etc.
15 min walk into city centre.
ZR buses right outside. Only 1 restaurant nearby all others a bus ride away.
Requested top floor but was given bottom floor.
Safe didn't work (though manager did come to take a look) .
Patio door awkward to use & lock (manager came to fix it).
- Jon (8/5): Very good -
- Maggie (10/5): I would return because the staff were super helpful, the beach is tranquil, and Pina Coladas are yum - The distance to the beach was perfect. The beach view was very nice. The service at the beach was friendly and fast. The pina coladas were delicious. Food was pretty good too. The area was good for walking to night life. Food items were not available on the menu. I had to get up and order a drink every time, no beach service. The stairs were not fun when we all packed for a 7 days cruise that we were trying to catch.
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- vasyl (10/5): - The location is by the beach. It's hidden gem. Reception is very professional and accommodating. Lot of places nearby, e.g. walking to the bar, government building. And for the price you get a lot of value. We enjoed our stay.
- Betty (6/5): - It was adequate for our purpose
- Nicola (9/5): Lovely apt right by the beach - There were two lovely rocking chairs on my balcony.
The kitchen had everything I needed so I could cook for myself.
The bed was very comfortable. The shower needs updating. It’s difficult to get the optimum temperature.
- Rachel (8/5): Very good - Perfect location, right on the beach. Staff very helpful - especially the security guard who met us on arrival. Very basic and quite well used, but nice and clean
- Russ (9/5): Superb -
- Piotr (9/5): Stay on the beach 15 min walk from centre - Fantastic location on the beach. A motel type of accomodation
- Marcus (1/5): The staff aren’t friendly and there’s a noisy building site next door - Front line There’s a noisy building site next door and that isn’t mentioned in the property details
- Signa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Valeriy (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (10/5): - Great location for accessing the beach. Had full kitchen for cooking. Beautiful views
- Sara (10/5): We would definitely return to such a great location. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. - Proximity to a great white sand beach and the relaxed feel.
- Oleg (9/5): Superb -
- Rudi (2/5): Blacklist this PLACE! - Nothing I booked the place for my family as I have a 3 year old for Christmas to have old Christmas and the day to be at a restaurant at the night, nothing said on the booking that the bar and dinner would be closed. With booking the girl said nothing, we went out to the beach upon returning we found a note under the door saying that both days it would be closed at 5pm.. it was 6pm. How can they do this. I paid for all facilities. I am so angry they spilt our time here, if I knew the restaurant would have been closed I would have stayed somewhere else, I had other options. No one at reception to complain to telling them I want to leave and want my money back as I needed a restaurant at my place of stay. I was forced against my will to stay. I wasted my time and money at this place with a spoilt important nights/ days of the year.
- Robert (10/5): - Expected tourist class hotel. Staff was great, the hotel served its purpose!
- Amirhossein (4/5): - Terrible condition. Worn out rooms and amenities. Roaches and mice. I would stay away at all costs.
- Margaret (6/5): - The property is in an older part of Barbados. The Nautilus is on the beach and is close to Bridgetown and to transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, there was no warm/ water for washing dishes or showers. There was a discrepancy between the description of the suite we paid for and what we received. The standard suite which was booked was to have twin beds, a beach view and a separate sitting area. The suite we received had one bed, no sitting area and the windows were not even at eye level and faced the parking lot.
- Sandy (6/5): Pleasant enough for a two-night stay but not for any longer. - Location was lovely. Room needs some upgrade. Lumpy couch in main room. Lights beside the bed do not function.
- Quincy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Toni (10/5): Hidden little gem in Bridgetown - The apartment was immaculate. Very comfy beds. The apartment was very spacious and everything is good working order. A stones throw away from the beach and the beach snack shack for brekkie and snacks was awesome. Staff were amazing. The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful. Would 100% stay here again.
- Djenanne (8/5): - The staff is amazing : polite, nice, smiley.... It is not a luxurous place, but it is super clean !
I enjoyed my say
- Daunette Aashawna (8/5): - I completely enjoy my stayed at the property, it was close by all the spots i wanted to try. I would have appreciated if the water in the shower was better as it was flowing really slowly and i was quiet annoying. But over all it was a pleasant stay
- DMITRY (10/5): - 10 meters from beach to room
- Peter (9/5): Excellent location, spacious, clean and friendly. - Great location on Carlisle Bay - easy beach access, and walkable into Bridgetown. Clean, spacious. Helpful and friendly staff. The beach bar/restaurant was good, although not open in the evening. Nothing
- John (9/5): Idyllic location on the beach but close to town - The location was fabulous, right on the front of a quiet stretch of lovely beach just South of the cruise ship trippers' beach clubs. The best of both worlds of seclusion and activity. In walking distance from Town, buses and shops, we were able to get around the island towns and attractions without a car or taxis. Charming and authentic. We booked a standard room, which had everything necessary but was basic; if we have chance to visit again we'd go for a superior/sea view as they seemed considerably nicer.
- Nick (10/5): Excellent - Location was excellent ,just 25 steps from Carlisle beach
Mark at reception was brilliant and helpful 👏 Room could do with a coat of paint
Could do with towel rail on balcony for towels but not being picky
- Sarah (8/5): Great prices and a fab location run by friendly people - Great location with easy access to a beautiful quiet beach. Bistro on site offered good food (with some gf options) at reasonable prices. All staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Wifi was good and it was great value for money. Very comfortable beds/pillows! The water pressure of the shower was a bit disappointing but a small factor against all the positives.
- Matt (8/5): Slightly shabby apartment made into good value by its fabulous location. - The location of this property is excellent - literally on the beach with the Bayside beach bar just yards away for good food and beer deals. Beach is right on the doorstep and the water in the bay great for swimming being calmer than the waters round by the St Lawrence area. A 10 minute walk along the beach to Savvy’s bar area for great food and drink open 24 hours and another 5 minutes to Bridgetown. The property could do with a little bit of updating. Could be an absolutely awesome property with a bit of investment- however, it would be unfortunate if that resulted in an increase in prices.
- Alison (6/5): Good Beach Location, Needs some Love - Good location on the beach. Good A/C in bedroom. Comfortable beds. Very tired place. Furniture uncomfortable.
- Angela (8/5): Friendly, efficient staff made the stay welcoming and super enjoyable! Excellent food at Bayside! 🤗 - Excellent location right on the beach in Carlisle Bay. Brownes beach proper is just a 5 min walk away. Exactly what we wanted and needed! Sofa and bed was hard for my liking. Ok for Dad.
A shower curtain would have helped keep water off the floor leading to the toilet room.
- Deoranie (10/5): impressive - air conditioning
television
bed was comfortable
location is perfect 🥰 minors
no need to mention
- Daniel (8/5): Great place to use as a base, especially if you enjoy snorkeling. - Fabulous Location. Right on the beach, large light filled rooms, balcony with views over the beach and Carlisle Bay. Excellent communication from host. Good shower, comfortable bed. No usb ports
- Hernan (3/5): Poor -
- Shaziah (6/5): - Manager Mark was nice and tried his best to accommodate and make my stay a good. The staff i dealt with were also nice.
Check in- After hours check in for guests need to be better, especially for guest checking in late hours due to flight arrivals. A system should be put in place to welcome guest and checked them in. The front office where the security personnel is need to be brighter and better sings at the front to direct guest to the office, at the front of the building a bigger brighter sigh should be seen off the road.
Rooms- are in need of a lot of upgrades, updated and made more accommodating and equipped with things to help guest feel more comfortable, a simple thing as having a sponge and dish washing liquid to wash your dishes. Extra towels, linens and blankets should be placed in the room.
Security for the guest need to be better, bums from the streets are able to access the entire hotel and walk around and enter and leave as they please. A gate system with a camera and physical security personnel should be visible on the premises.
They offer dining but the company that they are working with was never open, you have menus and no proper descriptions on how to do room service or hours of operations, not even a phone number listed on the menu.
The access to the beach was nice, but the security to protect the guest is lacking. Shower stall shower sucks need to have a lower pipe for just washing off your feet from the sand.
They are many other nicer hotels to stay.
- Cherie (8/5): Bliss on Carslile Bay - The location was excellent and staff were great. Very accommodating of our requests for additional nights, linen etc.
The beach was great for swimming and snorkelling. We saw turtles in reasonably shallow water every day. The shipwreck is easily accessible off shore for confident swimmers (we didn't have fins and still quite achievable) and the number of different fish varieties was amazing. Absolutely spectacular sunsets from this location as well.
Lots of food options close by and Bridgetown is within walking distance.
The two bedroom/two bathroom unit was a great size with enough utility in the kitchen to cater some meals for ourselves. We visited during low season, so this might not apply year round, but we would have loved the bistro and bar to be open in the afternoon and evening. Happy hour at sunset on the beach would have been fantastic.
- Carole Melissa (8/5): - Nice, clean and quiet. Lovely beach and less than 10 minutes from the city of Bridgetown. The receptionist Shanice was very pleasant and helpful. Generally pleasant staff. Will definitely stay here again.
- Tanya (2/5): Won’t repeat - Walkable to Bridgetown and George Washington house. On beach Restaurant closed the entire time we were there, room old and uncomfortable, staff had attitudes about everything
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dadrie (8/5): - I have always loved this property having stayed at it multiple times years ago becauseofbits proximityto everything such as places to eat, the beach, shopping centers etc.. Today the property has had some updates such as a television, the removal or radiofusion and access to a resturant. The only time we did try the resturant, the food was not up to par. Let me add that the manager did reimburse us for one of the three plates. I believe an air conditioner should be added to the living quarters. There is only one in the bedroom and that is not powerful enough to keep the apartment cool. Staff that were helpful are the manager Mark and the longest working housekeeper. Keep up the good work guys.
- Zehra (10/5): - Right at the beach, full kitchen appliances, public transportation is very easy
- Alexei (9/5): Superb - This motel-style hotel is Ideally located on the beach. The hotel supervisor Marc is always there when you need him, thank you very much Marc!
The hotel team is in general very helpful and very nice with the hosts. The hotel is very clean and well maintained.
- Alberto (10/5): Comfortable hotel and friendly staff. - The owner was friendly and kindly offered me a late check-out at no extra cost so I could wait in the room until my flight. Nothing
- Jenny (10/5): - We had a wonderful visit at the Nautilus! The owner was very friendly, the staff were very accommodating & professional. We felt safe, welcomed & it is perfectly located close to a beautiful beach, stores & local hotspots & the capital Bridgetown.
