- paul (6/5): - Okay .. as a small business owner, i don't usually leave less than highest reviews, but because this hotel has (imo) inflated ratings i stayed here... Please note, across the four room block i reserved, the standard room was fine, even good. The 3 superior rooms are not good. They have beds crammed into rafters, if you're with drunk friends or several kids, this might be a good value, certainly for the proximity to transport (& the loud popular bars). I have no idea about building codes in London. But the superior rooms wouldn't pass code.

I also didn’t appreciate the person at reception asking me to put a good review online before I had even checked in. The tv in the room didn’t work and one of the towels had a stain on it.
- shay (10/5): Excellent accommodation and location - Excellent location near Liverpool street station. Stayed with family in the grand apartment. Comfortable beds with air conditioning. Separate kitchen & Sainsburys is 1 minute away. Would highly recommend for a family stay. Ryan in reception was very helpful also

- Shihab (6/5): - What I didn't like was the incesseant messaging before check ins even though it said I could check in before 12 AM, I was called multiple times from 3 pm to 9 PM, even after I let them know I'll be there for 930 PM. I eventually checked in at 935 pm.
- Tiffany (6/5): - The Aparthotel has an excellent location. But the conditions are just ok. For example, we had issues with our key card working and they couldn't issue a new one so we had to get a manual key, of which there was only one and there were two travelers. Second issue was with the lock box which also had a nonworking key. Finally, there was a layer of dust over much of the room and the shower did not look very clean. These concerns aside, the check in was easy and the spaciousness of the room was great as were the facilities of the kitchen.
- Jannie (8/5): - Location is great. Access to the tube and buses are close by. We stayed for 5 nights and they came to clean our room 2 times and give us a pile of new towels. We didnt expect any room service. Also fixed our air conditioning issue promptly. Very happy about our stay.

- Alexander (10/5): Great value hotel with fantastic location - This hotel deserves 10/10 due to following reasons. Location: 5 minute walk to Old Town station (underground), buses and immediate vicinity to Sainsbury grocery, many shops and restaurants. The neighbourhood itself is quite nice. Liverpool Street i also within close walking distance. You may reach most of central attractions within 30 minutes of public transport. Room amenities: Has everything and more one could expect of a budget accommodation such as flatscreen TV witj many channels, good WIFI, AC, hairdrier, iron board, lots of electrical outlets, and a mini kitchen with micro, sink, stove, cupboards and a refrigerator, and a nice bathroom. The room was very clean. Value: Look at the map of hotels in central London. You often have to pay twice the amount, for the location. There is no better value hotel for what you get im central London. Service: The staff was very helpful and swrvice oriented. They went out od their way to accomodate my requests. Overall highly recommended, and I will come here again for my next stay!
- Nicholas (4/5): - Sercice was supper friendly and helpful. Room was small but well laid out and very clean. Curtains on 2 of the 3 windows were useless, the 3rd window had no curtain so streetlights and daylight made it morw like a lightroom than a dark room
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, poor sound proofing - It's an apartment block converted into a holiday stay, so reception is only open for very limited hours and you don't get any sort of service like a normal hotel if anything is broken. There's even a house cat welcoming me when I arrived, and he was available outside receptionist's hours. For the Grand Apartment, it is cheap for London. Location is also very convenient to discover East London which was the focus of my short stay. If you're a light sleeper, do not stay here. I was able to hear everything from the people who came back late next door to the morning bins being collected. The shower was pathetic, and worse, there was no internal lock on the door so I'm not surprised one reviewer said a staff entered their room by mistake. The dining chairs and arm chairs had grey covers which look like they didn't get replaced until after several guest rotations. Luckily I only stayed 1 night so the downsides didn't really matter by the time I left.

- Dave (2/5): - The single room is quite cleverly photographed on the site so that it doesn't show how truly tiny the room is. The bed is right next to the sink and kettle, the microwave is on a shelf at the foot of the bed, next to the TV which is angled above the bed. The room is tiny. It's also right next to a streetlight and not double-glazed, so you can hear every noise from the rather busy street below until the small hours. I slept terribly. On top of all that, they demand a card for a £75 "breakage deposit" when you arrive, which is barely mentioned on the listing. If I'd known before I booked I would have gone somewhere else because they are often a scam for the unwary. They did not return this deposit to me after more than a week after checkout, so I had to ask the bank for a chargeback. All-in-all a terrible experience, would not recommend staying here at all. Next time I will spend the extra £20 and stay in a real hotel.
- Scott (6/5): Berkeley ApartHotel 13th-14th May - Stay was just ok, room was clean but average and air con for the downstairs was just a fan. The bed was not comfortable as was very hard. The kitchen was well stocked and bathroom was small but very functional aside from the hike up to the shower. Not sure a hotel should have a cat running about either.

This place was unexpectedly lovely with a super cute resident kitty who was there to spread his love :) I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to stay for a few days or a more extended period.

They did not mention to me that it would take 5-7 working days to return into my account. The communication from the reception/ concierge was very poor. And it says they stay in the building until 10pm, which was not true. He left immediately after I checked in, leaving me with no one to make any requests/ complaints to.

Nearly none of the promised ammenities were available. The halls smelled like cat pee. And my fiance burned themselves on an overly hot impossible to turn off towl warmer.

The room was small but plenty big enough for one person. A bit noisy in the morning. And quite light to as there is a street lamp just outside the room. I really liked it though.

- P S (10/5): Hoxton stay - Extremely clean and good sized room with small kitchen area for making drinks and cooking basic meals. Also had a washing machine which I didn’t need but it was there…you need to buy your own laundry products. The place is very close to the subway just a short walk and was up a side street so wasn’t noisy which is a bonus in London. It’s in a good area with great pubs, bars and restaurants and was very close to venue I was attending so perfect for me. I would definitely stay here again if was looking for a place close to that same area again.

Tbe room is a bit dated but everything was clean and operational. The staff was very friendly and great with communication. - Guy (10/5): - Extremely well located in Shoreditch, a few steps away from Underground and Bus stops. I particularly liked having a kitchen (with fridge and microwave) so that I could get food from nearby supermarket and eat in. Staff was extremely kind and helpful.
- Ethan (2/5): - Way too loud. We brought our toddler and none of us got anything close to a full night of sleep for a week and a half. Busy neighborhood with bars and clubs open late and old single pane windows. Additionally, all the doors to the rooms seemed to need to be slammed to close fully. Between the noise outside and inside we frequently didn’t get to sleep until well after midnight on weeknights, 4:30 am on the weekends. Come here with a group of friends to get wrecked and enjoy the city, not with your family if you’re looking for a clean quiet place to sleep and unwind.

- Kai (10/5): Enjoyable stay at the Berkley - Had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Berkley, it's in a great location situated near to loads of fab local amenities and bars. We enjoyed getting to know the Hotel Cat. We had the executive apartment which, while small, was perfectly suited to our needs and the hotel manager bent over backwards to look after us when we needed him. If I was to offer any constructive criticism it would be that the kitchen layout was a little clunky, we struggled to get the cutlery from the cupboard as we were both a bit too short!

- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not recommend - I reserved a room with a king and a double bed - was given a room with three twins and a double. The desk clerk looked me in the eye and told me the double bed was a king and then said the three twins were the same as a king. I later checked the fine print and saw that room preferences are not guaranteed so I had to let that go. After reading the reviews under their previous name (Savoy Aparthotel - very recent name change) I figured I was safer in the room I had (no extra "pets" found) than changing to a new room later in my stay. ***Please note*** THERE IS NO LIFT (ELEVATOR) IN THIS HOTEL. Stairways are narrow. I thought the reason the room was so much cheaper was because it was in a not premium location but I should have investigated further. Requiring nonrefundable payment in full should have been another clue. Cleaning could have been better (crumbs on floor for 5 days - no clean towels for 3 days) Do not recommend - there are better choices.

We came the second night, and they had the wrong room reserved and then we had to move the third day. Then the air conditioner didn’t work. I advised them several times and they didn’t fix it. Just blew warm air for our 6 days there. I’d never stay there again.

They are kind and friendly and were always there to help with directions or anything I needed. This place is in Shoreditch known for the nightlife so at times can be noisy but it’s a safe neighborhood close to Old Street Tube and buses. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Only complaint is the stairs and there wasn’t a deadbolt on the door. A lift would have honestly made the stay perfect. The shower had poor water pressure as well but the water was always hot.

- Caroline (2/5): Misleading Hotel Information - I’m very annoyed about the whole experience. This has been a misleading experience from booking. The photo bears absolutely no relation to the room I was shown the £75 is not mentioned. I have been harassed by the hotel for the key (a card key) and will send it. I had to find another hotel at considerable additional expense as I did not feel safe. I have told them I will post you key but I would suggest that it is an absolute lie that they only have one key for the room.

- Patrick (6/5): - We stayed at this property for almost a month. Overall our stay was OK and the staff were lovely. The building is so different from the pictures on the listing that they might as well be from a different hotel. The building is tired and suffering from a lot of very badly bodged DIY fixes almost everywhere you look. The tiling looks like it was done blindfolded and the general standard of the finish was like it had all been done in a rush by someone who didn’t really know what they were doing. Our initial room (4a) was very dark and dingy, poorly laid out and all the walls are covered in freestyle Artex artwork. The windows looked directly into a service space on the roof with filthy ducting and building detritus. The toilet, sink and shower were also blocked so we were moved into a much nicer room facing Rivington Street. Although the room was much lighter, neither of the 2 windows would close properly meaning any noise outside (like the nightly 11pm bin Lorries) was very loud in the room. We weren’t too bothered by this but this is a very noisy area esp. at the weekend so be prepared. The kitchen was fine and having your own laundry facilities is a bonus. The cooker hood was missing most of its buttons, the microwave lcd screen wasn’t working and both rooms had an absolute bare minimum of cooking and eating implements so be prepared to improvise. There is a very pungent smell in the foyer when you open the front door and this did not shift for our whole stay.
