Candice (5/5): Hotel is older than the pictures show. Limited staff and lots of walking up and down stairs. - The location is within walking distance from the beach. There is no elevator. Carrying luggages to the 4th and 5th floor is difficult.
david (7/5): Locations, good a little tender? Loving care. n't t. I'm on the coast. Washington - The location was good.There was no breakfast When they took us to a room, the door latch didn't work. They knew it, they showed it to us. And then it's 7 days, we're there. No one ever fixed it. I guess it's fine to leave small things not done.

Steph (7/5): Okay for a couple of nights - Good location, right near the San Pedro express water taxi. Staff were lovely and gave us some good recommendations. Free use of beach towels was also very helpful. Room was okay but the double bed was pretty small! The bathroom construction also looked unfinished with gaps/holes in the timber work and the sink which was not fixed securely.

Location ideal for water taxi-not airport There is no elevator. Walls are paper thin-bring ear plugs. I slept with my noise cancelling headphones on. There’s nowhere in the shower to store personal care items. Dark hairs were found all over the room. Pillows were all different

Considering the general conditions and prices of accommodation in San Pedro, this was a pretty good choice. Though spacious, the rooms are pretty basic concerning the toiletries or amenities.
Joyce (6/5): It was a good location to the water terminal but I wouldn’t stay here again. - The location was great. The rooms were clean. I booked two rooms. There were issues with the balcony on both. One room the balcony door didn’t open at all. This issue did not get fixed although the maintenance man communicated to the front desk it was, it in fact had not been. A day before I checked out they offered me another room but I was leaving soon and over it. The other room the balcony door was unlocked and we weren’t given a key. I also didn’t like how you have to request to get your room cleaned and had to turn in old towels to get new ones.

Allie (8/5): - The customer service at this hotel was absolutely wonderful, and I really appreciated how available and accommodating they were. Any time I had a problem or needed something, they had it handled quickly. I had some wifi issues the first few nights, and they restarted the routers and had 2 WiFi servers which ended up working just fine for me to be able to watch TV and work remotely. They offered beach towels, had a cold/hot water tank to refill bottles with filtered water, and even provided me with bug spray. The pool was nice (though chilly!), and the location of the hotel was great because it was right next door to a lot of really great restaurants, especially Margie & Kenny’s. Some places of interest do require a golf cart, but a swimmable beach can be walked to in about 10 minutes. I booked hoping to be close to the beach, but the area is not really swimmable, so keep that in mind. I stayed on the first floor (at my own request due to luggage), and I will say - you hear everything in the hallway very clearly, including people walking around and talking loudly. It didn’t really bother me much because I’m not a light sleeper, but also something to keep in mind.

Cicely (7/5): - I did not like the fact that my room was near the entrance, because of this, I heard everyone passing by to go to their rooms. Which means, I did not sleep very well seeing it was New Years and everyone was coming in past midnight. Had I gotten a different room. My entire stay would have been amazing. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was great!

Jonelle (7/5): Okay for a short stay - Great that the hotel offers pick up from airport/water taxi ports. Room was clean with a good sized bathroom. Juan in the restaurant was great, one of few people during my trip that understood celiac disease so felt super safe with the food here. Golf carts available to rent from the hotel. Primary reason for stay in San Pedro was diving and pickup was available from the dock across the road. The larger bed in the room felt like the mattress needed replacing, the single was okay. The rooms don't have hot water from the sink for hand washing. More hanging space in the bathroom for wet swimwear would be great for rooms without a balcony. Not a fault of the hotel, but may be useful info for light sleepers - noise travels very easily through the hotel so if inconsiderate guests are around expect to be disturbed. Pool area was very shaded, probably a bonus for some but I prefer full sun.

Michalina (8/5): Amazing staff, good value and comfy beds! - The staff at Tropical Palace are amazing, super friendly and helpful! they were truly one of the nicest people at a hotel. The hotel is cute, the location is convenient. The island itself is not very walkable so you will need a golf cart anyway and everything was within a 5 to 15 min drive. The ferry dock is walkable, it's about 2 to 3 min away. They were kind enough to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. They provide coffee (sometimes it wasn't ready but they made it for us) and drinking water in the lobby. The lobby closes at 9pm so stock up on water for bed time. There is a cute pool and small bar. We didn't really hang out at the hotel though so I can't comment on the service at the bar. The rooms were great. The bed was super comfortable (softer mattress which I really really liked). The AC worked great, the Wifi was okay, some rooms do have worse signal than others. The bathroom was big and the hot water was great ( you have to let the shower run for 2 to 3 min to get the hot water). we rented a golf cart from next door (same business) and had no issues parking it on the lot or on the street during our stay (11 nights). There were some tiny things that I would suggest for improvements for the staff which would make things even better. Include a duvet, heavier blanket in the rooms (I had a coverlet), my toilet paper holder was missing the bar (not a big deal) and I had no shower mat so I had to use a towel which I felt bad about. otherwise, truly a cute place for the value and they were so so so lovely. wifi was not great in some rooms, but I believe they are rectifying this issue. We moved and where we were (end of the building) the signal was awesome!

La pulizia, siamo arrivati e la camera era non pulita correttamente in particolare il bagno. Abbiamo chiesto di ripulirlo, ma era praticamente uguale a prima. Devo dire che poi dopo 2 gg hanno rifatto la camera.

Myvette (4/5): Overall the stay was very comfortable and not what was expected. - The location was near the water taxi which is okay. The moment we stepped in the front desk area was shabby. We walked 8 flight of stairs to get to our room. Upon entering the room, the smell was unpleasant. The master room was very small, no television as seen in the picture on booking.com, the bathroom was not functional with very low water pressure in the room and as a result the water couldn't get warm. There were hair and other dirt in the apartment as though it was cleaned well.

The entrance to property was just amazing. Definitely will be my place to stay again. The staff was amazing especially front desk , and the bartender. Also the manager . Dominique Francisca (8/5): - they communicated with me all the way to pickup and drop off. only issue was a plumbing but the rectified even willing to move me to another room. its not the Ritz-Carlton but it was comfortable and clean. there are only stairs though so be prepared for exercise. pool on the property helps cool you down from the heat and the location is near restaurants and grocery store. you can also rent golf carts which is the mode of transportation on thr islan of San Pedro so that's convenient
Tanner (6/5): - Our pool and room was always clean but there were maintenance issues, the bathroom sink was not connected to the cabnet it was on, the hot water was not hooked up to the sink, the shower drain comes out, water leaks from the base of the toilet, the balcony door has a gap and there are no screens on anything so mosquitos come in, and the room main door has to be shut hard or it wont close, front desk staff was nice and they served good food and drinks by the pool. Room was air conditioned well, and relatively quiet exept for when there is parties.

The pool was a nice focal point of the hotel. The room was much better than expected, it has a fridge which I was excited for. Overall great place and would book again!

Albert (8/5): BUEN HOTEL EN SAN PEDRO - Nos gusto la habitación y sobre todo todo la chica que limpia las habitaciones, un diez de como deja la habitacion de limpia y arreglada que da gusto, nuestra mas entrañable felicitación, el hotel tiene de todo lo que necesites, te ayudan en todo desde comprar un paraguas a montarte una feria,jajajaja, pero la verdad que te dejan muy tranquilo, la seguridad tambien es un punto muuy faborable te sientes seguro en todo momento. No esta a primera linea de playa, pero hoy en dia se agradece pues el sargazo de las algas por lo menos no llega el mal olor que tienen los hoteles de primera linea de playa que es insoportable y desagradable. We liked the room and especially the lady who cleans the rooms. A ten for how she leaves the room so clean and tidy that it's a pleasure. Our warmest congratulations. The hotel has everything you need. They help you with everything from buying an umbrella to setting up a fair, hahaha. The truth is that they make you feel very relaxed. Security is also a very positive point; you feel safe at all times. It's not right on the beach, but nowadays it's appreciated because the "sargazo" seaweed at least doesn't have the unpleasant smell that beachfront hotels have, which is unbearable and unpleasant. para poner alguna cosa, pondria la distancia al centro, esta apartado, esto tiene su lado bueno que es la tranquilidad y el malo que todo queda lejos, pero superable alquilando un coche de golf que te lleva a todas partes como la mayoria de habitantes de San Pedro. To put something, I would put the distance to the center, it is isolated, this has its good side which is the tranquility and the bad side is that everything is far away, but it can be overcome by renting a golf cart that takes you everywhere like most residents of San Pedro.

Hotel didn’t care to even respond to my multiple attempts and I was told by Expedia that they refused even though I canceled on the 10th for an upcoming stay on the 15th. 5 days in advance! Steer clear or make sure you have insurance.

Kate (10/5): Perfect value, great location, clean, good amenities, and great staff! - Loved the location, just far enough from downtown to be a little more chill but not too far to walk or bike down. Originally chosen due to the price and proximity to Belize Pro Dive Center, which in my opinion is easily the best dive shop on the island. The staff was phenomenal. Very kind, welcoming and helpful! The pool was beautiful and clean, as was the room. The area was quiet. The AC worked great, the bathroom was spacious, and the room provided a lot of good storage! The owner was very helpful as well and happy to lend a hand when I needed a golf cart just for a few minutes or when I needed to dry my scuba gear out on the roof. The Lebanese restaurant next door was also delicious and a nice departure from the usual restaurants in San Pedro. I really enjoyed my stay here and will certainly be back! Looking forward to it. Thank you to all the staff! : ) I didn’t love how loud the restaurants music was while we were trying to relax by the pool, but everything else was fantastic.

The building outside of the individual rooms seemed pretty rundown. I would not recommend had I been traveling with my family, but was a perfect place to sleep comfortably between scuba dives

My husband found mold on the walls behind the dresser and took pics, as soon as we first stepped inside the room. He went to discuss the issue and ask for a different room, and they actually had the audacity to ask my husband to show them pictures of it... like really, as if they didnt know about the condition of that room. It just sad that thry are willing to put people in danger/unhealty conditions for profit.. disgustingly sad. They had enough decency to put us in a different room though. Be careful!!!
