The roof-top pool was a little smaller than we expected but the views were amazing. Unfortunately I can't recommend the restaurant or bar. The service was good but we did not like the dishes we ordered and the drinks were not good. There are two great coffee shops a few steps away from the hotel and we ordered food from the food trucks next door, which was really good. I would definitely stay at Watermark again. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip and the property is wonderful.

The staff were so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, the food was unbelievably good, and our room was incredibly comfortable. Don’t miss out on the shrimp curry. It was one of the best I've ever had! The seafood platter can give Caramba a run for the money. The spicy mangorita was so good! Everything about our stay was top-notch, and it's easy to see why this is the place to stay in San Pedro. We are already looking forward to our next visit. A solid 5 stars!

The service was truly five-star quality—every request was handled with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care. The food was another highlight of my stay. Each meal was beautifully prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients made dining here a real pleasure. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is elegant yet comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax. I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning.

The ladies at the front desk are so great. I’m really bad with remembering names. I know Julianie was a big help when it came to reservations at Caramba's for birthday celebration. They also helped book reservations for facials and massages for us as well. Sooo good!! Get one pls! The rooms are a nice size and we loved the showers. They even decorated the room for my son. That was nice! This hotel has a lovely rooftop pool, jacuzzi and bar. They make some really good drinks with friendly bartenders! You also get a welcome drink as well! Gorgeous views and nice photo ops! Whatever you need they are there to help! They gave us suggestions on where to eat and the best time to go as well. I look forward to returning there in the future to see the new renovations too! I know it’s going to be great bc it already is! Thank you to all the ladies. Great customer service!

The hotel is beautifully designed, centrally located and filled with wonderful staff. The elevator was a must have for my parents and it allowed them access to the amazing rooftop pool and restaurant with an incredible view. The room was very clean and had everything they needed. The restaurant and additional food trucks had great dinner options at very fair prices. The servers, front desk, house keeping and manager were all a big part in making our vacation a memorable one. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!

- jenniferpI809WO (10/5): Great location, great service and wifi. WILL return if coming to Belize again! - Stayed at The Watermark Belize Hotel during my birthday in the first week of July. All staff were accommodating and resourceful, and they decked the room out as a surprise for my birthday. We loved the location (2 min from gas station/bridge, 5-10 min away from most shopping and restaurants, next door to a supermarket and great coffee, 30-40 min away from Secret Beach, and a short walk to 303 Belize Bar & Grill on the dock (which has a couple of tour companies that pick up for snorkeling and diving right there). Loved the view of the ocean, free bottled water, free beach towels daily, refrigerator and balcony with an outlet. The hotel has a backup generator, which worked seamlessly to power the phone, wifi and elevators during a north island power outage. (They also communicated when AC/power was expected to resume.) This is a big plus for digital nomads such as my partner, who reports wifi was speedy and handled large file transfers in real time. They also communicate well if you are expecting delayed luggage and notify them. Room service was very good, and the AC was awesome! The safe was reliable. Rooftop restaurant served good quality, fresh foods and cocktails. (Though I will say - there is fantastic Belizean coffee served on the island. Either the brand or the method of brewing at the hotel is honestly sub par.) I did not see any obvious spa services. The pool does not have bleach in it, which is nice, but that comes with a small amount of mildew in certain places. Be prepared to weigh your clothing and towels down with a bag or a book when poolside. It is a lovely, peaceful area by the restaurant and pool. People with long hair WILL need to have it secured and/or covered to prevent bad wind knots, by the way.

There’s several shops and restaurants nearby and next door supermarket has everything from liquor to phone charges. My suite was stunning—modern, spacious, spotless, and immaculately clean, with a super comfy bed that made it hard to get up in the morning. The entire hotel has such a beautiful and relaxing vibe. The rooftop pool and bar were definitely highlights—perfect for unwinding with a drink while enjoying amazing views. The location was also perfect—convenient and easy to get around. A special shoutout to the general manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Belize!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid at ALL costs!!! - This hotel is in cahoots with the San Pedro police to exhort tourists for money. The manager will call the police then you’ll be threatened to be arrested (over something very petty) if you dont pay the police the money. The police then give the hotel (the manager) a kick back. Happened to us and I’ve heard other stories from people that had very similar situation happened. Pictures online of the hotel are VERY deceiving. The roof top pool is an oversized bath tub. So small and useless. No one hangs out up there and it closes at 5pm. The hotel does not have but one ice machine and it is on the rooftop that closes at 5pm so….i had two very large un authorized charges on my card that I had to dispute. It claims ocean front but between the hotel and the beach is a junk yard of hotel remodeling materials you’re forced to look at. If you like being scammed this is the hotel to stay at!! If not, avoid at ALL costs!!

- AOLIII2024 (10/5): Outstanding stay at the Watermark Resort in San Pedro Belize (Ambergris Caye). - Outstanding stay at the Watermark Resort in San Pedro Belize (Ambergris Caye). To start with an overarching comment about the staff. They are very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. From Danielle who was answering my emails before we arrived, to Caesar, Sessy, Alejandro, Caitlin, and many others who made sure our stay was enjoyable. As for the room we had an ocean view king room which was modern, clean and comfortable and maintained everyday. The resort has a restaurant and bar on the roof next to the pool and on the ground floor. We had breakfast there each day which was delicious and at a good price. Drinks at the Skyview Lounge by the pool or in the evening at Gustos lounge is a perfect experience. There is a workout room and spa as well as several other amenities that are all mentioned on the website. The facility is backed up by a generator that keeps the lights on and the internet available. There is a store nice door to the resort and several close eating and drinking establishments within walking distance. The location is conveniently located just north of the bridge on the main road. We rented a golf cart with the help of the front desk team. It was delivered to the hotel. We have been to other resorts over the several times we have stayed on Ambergris and we highly recommend this resort. Well done Watermark!

The front desk promised me a ride there but was a half hour late and then the driver had no idea where to take me after saying she did. She ended up dropping me off a 15 minute walk from where I was to be.

- jaime (4/5): - Noisy & highly overpriced. You have to wear earplugs to sleep there. It’s located on the main drag so you hear construction trucks starting at 4 AM and golf carts all night. Outlet did not work so my phone did not charge. It’s hard to sleep because it’s too bright. All the doors are glass so you can see light through them from the main hallway.must have eye cover. The hot water heater doesn’t work well. It doesn’t get hot enough and then another time it will fluctuate and go from too cold to too hot. The price was astronomical for how loud and how cheap of a building this is. I would definitely find somewhere else to stay in the future.

The food was tasty, especially the Fry Jack, I even placed an order to bring it back home. The food service needs to be improved, even though my party who stayed at the hotel was 28 people, you would think that hotel management would arrange additional staffing. There were only two staff providing service at the restaurant for all guests, and at times, the staff had to make a drink and step away to drop off room service orders, which left one staff to attend to all of the guest's orders which wait time for breakfast was very frustrating. I was there for a friend's birthday celebration, and again the event was understaffed, considering that management was aware of this event in advance and did not have sufficient staffing for the event. Besides being unstaffed in the restaurant, I had an Awesome vacation.

The room was called a King Suite but wasn’t very large at all!

The location was convenient, close to shops and restaurants, which was a plus. No beach access which I I believed was advertised. The noise from outside could be heard in the room, which disturbed my sleep a bit. The good not exceptional. Overall, it was a decent place to stay for a short trip, but it could use some improvements to make it feel more comfortable and modern. I Would NOT consider staying here again.

I fell in love with Belize, and this was the second trip.so This time, I decided to travel to the island and choose the watermark hotel. I did my research, and I had some good reviews, and I saw bad ones. But the real deal is that until you try yourself. Fairly new place. I also noticed some works that needed to be done on rooftop restaurants. But I have to say that doesn't stop that million dollar view. That peaceful time I had in this resort. Absolutely amazing food that has complete local flavor. I was tired of burgers and pizza life. I enjoyed great fish curry ,I enjoyed local rice and beans and enjoyed service by Bhajji. I will do say, though, I don't remember the waitress's name, who walks funny and has a very bad temperament. But that will not make me give this place 5 stars. I enjoyed the welcome given by sessy during check in. Even though I didn't get enough respect with other front desk name starts with P when i went to ask for pool towel. But I will still end my review with a very budget friendly hotel and nice food.Thanks for making stress lesser as I had enough.
- R9376JWsharonc (4/5): Disappointed - This is not a well appointed hotel for the price! The rooms seemed to be only partially finished, ours had no pictures on the wall, no hairdryer or lamps. The balcony is poorly designed as the heat from the air conditioner blows right no in you on the balcony. The upstairs dinning area is open and gets very windy as the wind seems to blow from that direction all of the time. The pool is very shallow I would say maybe 4ft at the deepest so no real swimming. There is also a "semi-hot" pool with jets but really not needed in the tropics. Staff worked at being helpful but were poorly trained, from what I could see. The dinning room was hardly open and again very sparse furniture and no decor!
- Trip55905592058 (10/5): Amazing views from the best rooftop bar in San Pedro - I’m so glad I stayed here. The food and drinks were great, the facilities were modern, the location was accessible to all the must-go places, and the staff was amazing. I stayed in San Pedro for 5 days on a solo trip. My room was comfortable with a spacious balcony, large shower, fridge, TV, microwave, and coffee maker. The bed was extremely comfortable, too. This would have been a nice hotel room back home in Los Angeles. The sun rising over the ocean was breathtaking, I would wake up most mornings to catch it, then go back to sleep. The hotel had a bar and restaurant on the first floor, a boutique next to the lobby, a rooftop pool, and a bar and restaurant on the rooftop. I would have liked more seasoning on some of the dishes, but the food was not disappointing. The menu had a great mix of authentic local dishes and touristy options. I tried the shrimp curry, stewed chicken, and the Belizean breakfast. The drinks were always good, and they could make anything you'd like. Kaylinn made a solid old-fashioned for me one night. I recommend you drink the local rum-based drinks. They are much, much cheaper than imported spirits (this is true everywhere, not just in the hotel) and just as good. Also, the welcome cocktail was great, I should have got that again now that I think about it. My favorite part of the hotel was the rooftop bar and pool. The pool is fairly large and very clean, with lounge chairs all around. There are also tables for food orders and a bar as well. The view is always excellent, and the rooftop is usually where the guests go before and after their daily excursions. I met people from all over the US, and we shared our favorite restaurants on the island and made plans while casually hanging out there. The friendly island vibes are contagious, so most of the tourists are very friendly, like the locals. My first interaction with the hotel was when the driver picked me up from the water ferry terminal. He was punctual, professional, and very friendly. He set the standard for the rest of the staff at The Watermark, and it was consistent my entire 5-day stay. Every single person from the bar to housekeeping to the front desk had a great attitude and was professional and friendly. Ali, Kaylinn, Heraldo, Daniel, and Jami were great, they provided service with a smile every time I crossed their paths and they knew all the best restaurants and bars on the island. I felt at home the whole stay and can't wait to return.

- Cruiser01179215177 (8/5): 🏖️🦈🤿🩴🐊🎂🦎 - It was a beautiful hotel; the rooms were small but very nice. The hotel staff was helpful and always willing to take a minute to help when needed. The location was a little north of town (still within walking distance if you walk on the beach). It is located next to my favorite dive outfit, so that made it convenient for diving. It's also closer than most resorts to the secret beach if you plan on relaxing and partying in the afternoon. I would recommend staying if you have a chance.

- cmwilder77 (10/5): San Pedro hotel - For the many times we visit San Pedro we decided we just stay in a hotel this time. We have the pleasure of seeing this hotel built on one of our previous trips to Belize. Normally, you’ll stay at an Airbnb but decided to try a hotel. We were not disappointed. The staff very accommodating in the rooftop restaurant served really good food. We went on Super Bowl Sunday and they had a party in the restaurant on the first floor. We had already made plans so we did not attend that but the action of that landed activities was refreshing. There is a farmhouse coffee place right next-door and a small convenience store on the opposite side. Although the price was pretty decent, it should not be anywhere near the prices of the resorts that are approximately a mile or two away considering this is not a resort. Hopefully, they will continue to keep the prices of the rooms affordable to attract visitors. We will definitely be revisiting the hotel in the future!!!!

The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. My son loves the pizzas! The staff were all friendly, helpful, and ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms were immaculate, and the overall ambiance was relaxing and inviting. This is our favorite place to go to and we love the GM!
- lisS8768IW (4/5): Bad Apple, Ruined our experience - This hotel is being advertised as a new hotel in the heart of Belize. Maybe it is on the "newer" side but we were expecting much more. The overall experience was just "ok" but for what we paid, we should have just stayed at a big name hotel. Not many accommodations at the hotel. This would have been ok but one particular staff was insanely unaccommodating and kind of soured our entire trip. We used our American Express concierge to book this hotel and went with their recommendations, however, when we go to the Hotel, Le'Niah (front desk lady) stated they did not take Amex. Which was insanely alarming because they "took" my American Express to pre pay for the Hotel. But away from my best judgement, we were excited to be in Belize so we let that go (we should have left immediately and forfeit the hotel fees). After the 3rd night, we found out we were deactivated from our hotel room and need to "re register" and pay MORE FEE's. Le'Niah insisted we booked through Expedia and our Amex Concierge never called to book for us. I immediately thought fraud, so I called up Amex who assured me they took care of our booking and we should not have to pay additional fees or be deactivated from our room. Not sure if it was just a money grab for her or the hotel is that unorganized but I will be monitoring my credit cards for any unauthorized charges. I'm not sure if she's just rude, doesn't like her job or just needs additional training but very unacceptable and I would not recommend this Hotel. The customer service was at a NEGATIVE ZERO! However, on our last night my husband and I went to the roof top bar to have a drink and we met the most delightful bar tender. I can not remember her name but it starts with a K and she was the breath of fresh air we needed to calm our nerves. We also met the hotel manager and was able to discuss our experience with him. He was kind and listened. Although those two were kind, the one bad apple made a significant impact on our trip and I remained uneasy for the duration. Thus my 2 stars... it was just ok but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing vacation experience.
- bryceg688 (2/5): Property is not properly exterminated. - Mosquitos were found all over our room even though we did not keep the balcony door open. Management showed us other rooms which had spiders and mosquitos all over the ceiling. They then sprayed bug killer in our room and asked us to go back to the room with dead mosquitos on the floor, sheets and in our luggage. Did not compensate for contact dermatitis suffered from the bug spray and severe bug bites we experienced during our stay. We also found several lizards during our stay but that didn't matter much to us.

Modern design & in the center of everything with a golf cart, to the right Truck Stop, PUR, Rain & the Secret Beach. To the left, the city, Caramba, Chocolate Boutique, shopping center & iguanas sanctuary. Welcome drink was delicious & Kaylinn is the sweetest & beautiful barista that makes the best amaretto sour! Gorgeous views of the sunrise. Right next to the hotel is a grocery with essentials & affordable prices that close around 10 pm. Hotel do not have a blow dryer & no direct beach access. Bring raincoats if traveling in December, bug sprays & anti-itch cream/ointment, or dress to prevent mosquitoes/sand flies bites, enjoy!

Our room was clean, comfortable, and cool. The hotel is located in a great location with markets, bars, and additional restaurants close by. The hotel is currently under a bit of construction so I can only imagine how wonderful things will be once the renovations are done.

After I arrived at the hotel, my card went missing. I attempted to contact Alfonso but he did not answer. Alfonso also connected me with Wassam with Maya Golf Cart Rentals who also attempted to steal my friends phone and cash app card. Just be aware when setting up transportation through the hotel.

The air conditioner leaked water all over the place although they fixed it immediately. Then there was no water for most of the day. Once it came back on, it was brown and stayed brown for hours. It’s a new property and definitely needs some work.

I’ve also been to Belize almost 10 times and absolutely LOVE it for so many different reasons, it would take too long to review here. Watermark has been recently renovated. Here’s why my review will be different from others: I know what kind of travelers my husband and I are. If you are looking for a 5-star, Starbucks in the lobby with marble floors kind of stay, don’t stay in Ambergris Caye - at all. This island has the incredible, mom-and-pop kind of feel that so many people long for these days. Don’t come to Belize with American expectations. Accept that there will likely be power outages and get outside and enjoy the beautiful Belizean breezes. Learn to live with the small things Americans consider “inconveniences.” The hotel management is supreme. They’re so sweet and attentive to all their customers’ needs. Never ran out of hot water. We have stayed at a variety of places on the mainland and island and this was a beautiful, charming little place with plenty of charisma and lovely and warm people. We spent our 5 year anniversary here and they decorated our room upon our arrival. Please be kind when you leave reviews here, Belizeans are incredible people who are so loving and gracious, they have an incredible gem of a country and they know it and are proud of it - as they should be! Would (and will) absolutely come back.
