Guest Reviews
- Adam (6/5): - I had a good time here. It’s an adventure, you roll the dice. The whole panoply of humanity is represented, even the entitled. The fridge looks like a crime scene and the guys that run it are like capos from some lost detention center, but I found a way to enjoy.
- Gerardo (4/5): - The service was not good at all to check in I did on line by email was soo nasty there’s no personal contact with nobody from the property smells bad with people smoking all kinds of stuff it was a really bad experience
- Rodney (2/5): Service... Plan to take a punch - Didn't stay got punched by some thug because I questioned them about an issue
- Akiko (2/5): - I don't recommend this place.
- Isaac (2/5): The not-so-boutique dump stay. - There was nothing essential or “boutique” about this place. There was no towels, no hand soap, no toilet paper, no air conditioning, NO NOTHING!! And the hostel manager was a jerk! Checking in with this guy was such a pain!! Always left me and a friend of mine on voicemail whenever we tried calling to check in. I hate how there was no front desk check in, it was all virtual, and the fact they didn’t offer free parking was just the worst. I’m constantly struggling to find a decent spot in the street without risking a parking ticket and I just did not wanna wait till the last day to leave this dump of a place. Me and a friend got out of there ASAP! Never staying in a hostel ever again.
- LOva (2/5): - When you enter the place it have the smell of a dead rats bruh when i got to my room bed i went into the toilet for a number 2 but there was no toilet papper. The pillow was 1 single string of silk pog and the best part at night a mad man(drugy) sing me all night long with his endless cuming .Best place too be if you hate your self .One thing would have been great if the place have a locker for people stuff im pretty sure some one took my Fakku hat
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Thank you..
- Yadira (2/5): - Disappointing Stay – Ended Up Leaving Early
My stay at The Homestay Boutique in Los Angeles did not meet expectations. The check-in process was unclear—phone calls went unanswered, and we had to ask nearby people for help. We later found out that instructions were posted on the door, but this was not communicated in advance.
Once we contacted someone through email, the communication felt unwelcoming. The room itself did not match the photos online. It had an unpleasant odor, lacked cleanliness, and appeared very different from what was advertised.
Based on what we saw and how we felt, we didn’t feel comfortable staying the night. We ended up booking another place and leaving immediately. Overall, the experience was disorganized and disappointing, and I would not choose to stay here again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Splendid...The Atmosphere was clean, safe and Friendly...I GIVE THEM A (9)..THANK YOU
- Joao Paulo (4/5): - O quarto estava cheio de tv, roupa no chão e banheiro nojento
- Meredith (2/5): - Manager not professional at all. No screening process for guests.
- Ferdinand (6/5): - New building and discent place for a night or two
- Ferdinand (6/5): - Nice
- Ferdinand (8/5): - It's ok
- Stephanie (2/5): - Everything felt very dirty, my belongings were moved when i wasnt even checking out that day. Bathroom was gross.
- Ferdinand (6/5): - OK place for the night
- Herman (10/5): - Great place to visit ifn you're on a budget in LA!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dingy Place, Not For Travelers - They posted old pictures of the property. This place is rundown & dirty not "boutique" (just like its sister property, Green HomeStay). Beware...the house manager of Boutique Homestay is very slow to respond when you need to check in & he'll have you waiting outside the property for a long time. This place also has a security guard, who is as discourteous as the manager. Many of the people staying there are homeless locals.
- Herman (10/5): - Great budget frie3ndl;y place for travellers.
- ian (10/5): - nice & cozy.
- ian (10/5): - I liked this unique property!
- ian (10/5): - A perfect fit
- Jeretha (4/5): Do not come here!!! - Management were very rude and I couldn’t get ahold of anyone. The phone number and address listed are incorrect. The check in instructions are posted on the back door for anyone as confused as I was booking this place. The people are somewhat friendly but would be careful as a woman. All the rooms are Co-ed.
- Juan (2/5): Homeless shelter not a hostel - I arrived a bit early and was told I couldn’t sit outside the property and needed to come back, which felt very condescending. Although I was only there for a few days, I encountered several issues:
1. No toiletries available
2. No plates or cups
3. No TV
4. No lounge area
5. Bathrooms were consistently dirty
6. Poor communication from management
The dormitories are overcrowded, with six people sharing a space that has no room for luggage. The beds squeak, and some guests sleep during the day as if it were their permanent home. Overall, it didn’t feel like a welcoming hostel experience—there was no coffee, tea, or music, just a strange atmosphere with people watching you on the cameras, especially the tattooed white trans guy, who was particularly off-putting.
- Patrick (2/5): Stay Away from this BUST - They get onto you for anything. It's dirty smelly, and grimy. The people are not friendly, and this more of a homeless shelter. Don't stay here if you can help it. Checkin process is also a pain.
- Patrick (2/5): BUST - If i had the choice between a homeless and this place, I'd stay stay at the homeless shelter - this place is BUST
- Jax (6/5): - cleanliness was very poor.
- Nicholas (2/5): - My mattress has bedbugs…
- Arturo (10/5): - Nice building
- Dshanick (2/5): I need a refund - I did not stay here and I need A Refund because I I did not like the environment.
- Georgii (2/5): - 👎
- Marcus (2/5): - .
- Herman (10/5): Good galue - It was great
- Herman (10/5): - Everything was as expected
- Sonja (10/5): - No issues clean place but just know you will most likely have cramped quarters and not much room to move.
- Davante (2/5): Disgusting - Terrible place to stay, full of weirdo’s and pot smoking idiots, pedos also. This place is literally a homeless shelter, disgusting with clogged toilets, dirty refrigerator and broken appliances. Can’t pay? You can always pitch in to over stay your welcome. Surprised that the city doesn’t fine the owner for allowing such disgusting unlivable conditions.
- Akihiko (6/5): - 掃除は、丁寧だと思う
- Akihiko (8/5): - 多分冷蔵庫が有料。
- Akihiko (8/5): - 洗濯機無料
- Diego (2/5): The worst - Meanwhile I go to shop, another guy robbed my wallet inside of my bag, no one’s see anything, the administration say they can’t do anything, the worst desicion choose this place 😭
- Verified traveler (2/5): Homeless Hotel - Dirty, cold and somewhat prison like - stay if you have no where else to go.
- Geovanni (2/5): - You will be sharing a room and bed with other MEN. Strangers in a hostel, very predatory vibes and NOT SAFE.
If you need help they will never help or answer, best to carry a gun or have 911 on stand by. DO NOT STAY HERE - you have been warned. it is horrible. Very Dangerous.
Very Disgusted that Orbitz even promotes this TRASH.
- Jennifer (2/5): - No, don't do it. It was scary and communication with management was impossible.
- John (10/5): - I wasn't able to make it I didn't stay there for the two days will I be able to get a refund
- Miko (10/5): - The lady that managed the place was very nice and sweet, I lost my ID at a venue but thankfully I could use my school ID! Thank you!
- Haoran (6/5): - The room is clean. One bathroom for ~18 people could be a little underwhelming. Not expecting too much though given the low price. However, this place could be "overbooked" and you will be guided to other places (with similar housing condition) that are ~10 minutes away by drive. This was frustrating and I wish it could be stated clearly on the website.
- Joseph (10/5): - Great
- Juwaireeyah (2/5): - Okay I was really concerned about this place. The phone number listed didn't reach anybody. Nor did the chat. When I arrived, I had to go to another hostel they owned because they gave my bed away and they put me in a stinky room full of men. The next day they asked me if I wanted to move into a room with women. In the room I thought things were better because it was clean and it smelled good. Later that day, the same man that checked me in, put his hands in my pants without my consent and the woman in my room told me that he slapped her over some chicken that he cooked. It was just a real unsafe place for women and I'm not even sure if it's legal. They have people "working" there instead of paying the $24 a day and it's a hot mess.
- Fnu (2/5): - Staff were not good
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Exactly what I needed for one night in town. Thank you!
- Verified traveler (6/5):
