- Inspire26118 (8/5): Bitter Sweet Stay - The boutique hotel is inviting and worth the stairs to climb to your room. There is no elevator on site and stairs are at the entrance and path to the 2nd level where rooms are located. The photos are fair as the rooms are large and roomy from the junior suites to the higher grade options. Staff is not available after 10 pm each night. There is a code to gain access to the courtyard leading to the entrance. Each room has a single key for access. This key is required in the room to activate the electric power in the room, similar to other properties overseas. Breakfast is included daily and can be delivered to the room for no additional cost if you ordered by 11 am. They have a decent menu with various egg dishes, silver dollar pancakes, yogurt, breads, and more. They offer fresh OJ, coffee, and water for no additional costs. The bellhop George is very helpful. He helps with room service, baggage, and more. George is great! He deserves a lot of the credit for keeping the property together. His service is invaluable to La Divina and he makes the experience better than the front desk lady who doesn’t want to be bothered no matter which shift she covers. She answers questions as if it is too much to ask. We had a balcony overlooking the park and local restaurants on a busy fairway. I would stay here again. The night shift person was crass during most interactions. She would lie about things to avoid extra work or having to go out of her way. Made me feel like we should have kept our Marriott reservation after all and avoided La Divina as most of the time it was her we ended up dealing with when the rest of the staff was very accommodating who worked during the day only. The welcome amenities were lacking. We got a bottle of water and Sauvignon Blanc. The same night shift staff would not get a wine chiller so we could enjoy it. Every ask was too much to ask and we had to leave the bottle since she also would not help us get the minibar cooled to chill the wine ourselves. The stay was clouded by her lack of action and care. Sad really.

But the weird thing was they charge you for a refill of coffee??? They don’t replenish the bathroom items like hand cream shower caps etc or even the water. No city view as advertised , just the wall of building next door

- Stay704697 (10/5): Loved Our Stay at La Divina! - The perfect location to explore all of Athens. We were considering the Grand Bretagne hotel but were so glad we booked this charming hotel instead. Very close to the plaka and lots of shopping and activities. Very close to restaurants. Our stay included breakfast which was satisfying and served in a lovely private courtyard. I can’t say enough about how friendly and gracious everyone on staff was!

We loved the renovation of the building with the exposed brick walls and the combination of old and new. The breakfast every morning in the beautiful courtyard, was delicious. The front desk staff was always very pleasant and helpful (especially one evening when my husband wanted to see a doctor about a sore throat). The location in Plaka made walking to all the tourist attractions very easy. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

The breakfast was delicious and was brought to our room 2 days because it was to cool to eat outside. But when it warmed up it was a really nice area to eat. I recommend the cappuccino. We stayed in the suite and the view of the Acropolis was amazing. I stay at the La Divina again.

Had a good view of the parthenon but was slightly obstructed by a building next door. you could also see the Temple of Haphestus(sp) and Friendly staff. Interesting property that was a unique blend of old and new. Nice breakfast included with our stay. Couldn't have been happier
- MARIA (10/5): We would happily stay here again - Good Points; 1. This lovely boutique hotel has only been open for one year, so the decor and furnishings are in excellent order. 2. It's in a super convenient location, just steps from the Thiseio metro station, The Ancient Agora of Athens and the lower slopes of the Acropolis so we walked, or took the subway, to everything we wanted to see. 3. Staff were incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. 4. Breakfast was fabulous and well worth E20 per person. Choices are plentiful, food of a very high standard, portions generous and one can eat either in the sunny outdoor courtyard, or in one's room. 5. Rooms were impeccably clean. Less good points: 1. La Divina sits above a restaurant that is not associated with it. We were in the Carmen Suite at the front of the hotel, which is a stunning suite with lovely views, but noise from the restaurant (especially on the weekend) meant that I was glad to have packed ear-plugs. If you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest that you ask for a room away from the front of the hotel. 2. There were intermittent problems with the boiler during our stay, so hot water wasn't always available. Hopefully, this has now been fixed. 3. There was liquid soap (and shampoo and conditioner) in the shower, but a bar of soap for the vanity. This was replaced every day which is not very eco-conscious. I would prefer liquid soap for the vanity. 4. Our vanity area needed some hooks for toiletries bags, robes etc.

Great location right on the edge of the tourist area with lots of restaurant options and 2 mins’ walk to the metro. Highly recommended! Only small negative is that the breakfast is at the restaurant next door and is the same every day with only the option of eggs or pancakes, but for a stay of a few days it’s not a huge problem and the restaurant staff are lovely.

We stayed in the room with the larger patio with the hot tub, what a great treat that was. There is so much to do within walking distance! The staff was very polite and professional!

The concierge service went above and beyond with Dimitris and Christina arranging site seeing and taxi service for us. A served traditional breakfast was provided at an adjoining restaurant! The location was fabulous with views of the Acropolis from our jacuzzi on our private patio. It was grand to sit there after our day listing to music from the local restaurants as we talked of our day.. Above all that was the location within walking distance to the archeological sites - many of which were literally across this pedestrian, restaurant lined street! We will be returning!
- Paul (10/5): - La Divina is an absolute exquisite property in a divine location. It is the nicest property that I have ever stayed at. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The design and architecture is opulent and cozy. It is a premium priced property and well worth the extra cost. The property does not have an elevator; however, an attendant anticipates your arrival and is waiting at the entrance to whisk your luggage to your room. The attendant even carried our luggage to the taxi stand at the end of the stay. Breakfast is provided at a local restaurant, so take that option as it is delicious. La Divine will be my go to property when in Athens.

- simonholler (10/5): Quiet luxury in downtown location - This hotel has a great location on a pedestrian street so you do not suffer the constant traffic noise normal for Athens. There are several excellent restaurants within easy walking. There is a train station within 50 metres which was excellent for visiting Piraeus. The hotel is new and it’s absolutely beautiful. Lovely bathroom and views of temple. Bed was super comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast is next door but one with great atmosphere

Been to dozens of hotels all around the world especially while I was in the military been to a lot of five star hotels and this hotel is the best and makes you feel like family The rooms are breath taking and beautiful The staff there is amazing and very helpful gave good recommendations and help with anything I needed . I can’t express how amazing this hotel is but I’ll tell you what it is going to be my go to for every single year. Going around town and seeing the sites so close and still just wanted to go back to the hotel because of how amazing it is !! Beautiful views from the balcony (and jacuzzi!) and the architecture is stunning, including the original staircase from when this was a music hall dedicated to Maria Callas. Very comfortable rooms full of thoughtful touches; each suite is named after an opera La Divina starred in during her career. If mobility is an issue, note that there are a few steps.

- 30jeanineh (10/5): Lovely hotel in the heart of Athens - This lovely hotel is a respite from touring ruins, museums, and the bustling streets of Athens. (Especially against the inevitable heat.). Clean and elegantly charming — it’s a gem. It’s centrally located within walking distance of many sites and museums, and wonderfully appointed. It’s small, and while I hesitate to call too much attention to it because I want to be able to stay here whenever I return, it’s a wonderful place that deserves the high marks.

- Anthony (10/5): - This was an amazing property in a central location near the Acropolis and the Thissio subway station. The ruins of the Temple of Hephaestus and the Roman Agora were just outside of the hotel. The entrance to the Acropolis was a short 15-20min walk through the historic Monastiraki and Plaka neighborhoods (definitely worth the hike through the area). The Monastiraki Square was a few blocks away to shop in an outdoor flea market before it transitions into an upscale shopping district. The hotel was well done and the amenities were first class. The staff and house keeping were very attentive to every need. The only downside for the hotel was the loud techno music festival that was going on around the corner on Friday night. The rest of our stay was amazingly quiet (Tuesday-Thursday nights) but the Friday night was very loud due to the concert around the corner. The speakers were so loud that the walls were shaking until 3:30am. Now this is probably not a normal scenario, but to just be aware of since if there is a concert at the train station. However, I think most places around the acropolis will likely have some issues with various forms of noise on the weekend.
