Guest Reviews
- Lindsay (8/5): -
- Rachelle (10/5): - The location of the apartment close to great restaurants N/a
- Alice (8/5): - The location is very good. No bed sheet for the sofa bed. And the pillows are too thin. Only 1 small body wash for 4 people and 2 days was too less.
- Mary Ann (8/5): Location was great - Location
- Richard (8/5): Fantastic stay - great host and highly recommend - Location and facilities Nothing really
- Lesley (8/5): Convenient to restaurants and shopping. Pool, sauna and gym give it a bit of a resort feel. - Great location near "Eat Street" , walking distance to Coles and Aldi and all the shopping, restaurants and nightlife of the CBD. The hotel itself has a gorgeous pool, sauna and gym area, but this apartment is slightly noisy due to overlooking Light Rail station and Northbourne Avenue. Extra towels for the pool would be cheap and easy enhancement of the experience.
More expensive would be double glazing/soundproofing to avoid the noise from Light Rail and Northbourne Ave.
Even providing ear-plugs would be handy!
- Jana (8/5): Convenient apparment in a great location - Location is great. Really central, close to good restaurants and all attractions. The apartment has all that you need for a short stay and it is a very good option for a couple or a small family. It has a great pool and sauna. The check in and check out is not easy especially if you are using a car park. To collect the keys you either need to find a street parking in a busy city centre or drive in, hope to park in the hotel car park and then move your car into the designated area once you have a key with the swipe. The key lockers as one you’d assume would be somewhere in a vicinity, but that is not the case. They are actually located couple of streets away. Same with the check out. You first need to drive out. Park somewhere on the street, walk around the whole building to get the lift to take the keys back to the apartment then walk around to get back to your car. Make sure that you read the instructions beforehand. That helps.
Other improvement could be done on bedding. The bed only had a flat sheet on a very worn out mattress protector and cheep quilt with cheap cover. I know it is a third world country problem, but for the price it could be little better.
Lastly, the surfaces in the kitchen and the bathroom could be cleaned more thoroughly.
- Peggy (5/5): Passable - Location was great. The couch was very uncomfortable and bed was small and awful. Also not great having no TV in the bedroom to lay in and relax. The wild goose chase to get the keys was also painful in the cold Canberra winter and seems unnecessarily complicated. Wouldn’t stay here again for those reasons.
- Railize (8/5): Very good -
- Cecilia (10/5): Excellent - Great location.free parking.many restaurants nearby. Clean &modern apt. Nothing
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Mobile assistance Finding the key location-
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Balloon (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (3/5): Would not recommend booking via CITYSTAYZ - Good location once you had worked out how to collect the keys
Free parking - once you had navigated the first time how to get there
If were staying longer does have a kitchen and laundry in the apartment Very difficult instructions to find key box that were stored in a storage container a block away from the midnight hotel.
On arrival the keys were not in the storage unit. We arrived at 3 pm and called the managers who stated that cleaner was still cleaning the unit. Eventually we met the cleaner outside the hotel to collect the keys.
Difficulty finding the key container unit, in a side alley in Braddon, is obviously a common problem/frustation as the person coming out when we went in to was exasperated and saying worst experience and people who run pop up shops in the alley were saying ..another one and saying that this is a common occurence.
This delayed our ability to access the unit for at least 25 minutes and we had an appointment to get to and were late.
On booking there is very strict instructions that if you wish to book in 30 minutes earlier it cost $30 and more if you wish to check in 2 hrs earlier - was very frustrating that unit was not ready and keys not in box . The managers did in the end refund $30 but only after a couple of messages.
The apartment had had a cursory clean but side tables still not in place, shower glass not very clean and bed only had one new sheet on the bottom and then only a duna - nil top sheet.
- Maggie (9/5): Great stay, great location - Convenient location, great room and facilities. Enjoyed using the pool and sauna Nothing to report.
- Yasar (10/5): Exceptional - Best location close to cbd, clean and tidy house has perfect swimming pool (my daughter loves swimming)
Especially thanks to Sarah she is very kind and helpful everything was perfect 👌
- Janfrey (8/5): Very good -
- Desiantien (9/5): Superb - Clean and location is superb None
- Anthony (3/5): Avoid until product improves. - Travel a lot and stay in places all over the world. Rarely complain, or review for that matter.
This was an unpleasant experience, and it’s important that the owners get the chance to make it the 5 star experience that they aim for.
On the plus side, the location is terrific, close to the great shops, restaurants and cafes of Braddon and a short walk to Canberra Central. The Midnight complex is lovely and the heated indoor pool is great. The kitchen is nice.
On the negative side, check in is not good. I enquired about dropping our luggage off early. We didn’t need the room early and was told it was $30 per hour. Ended up messaging a few days before that I would pay the 2 hours but this wasn’t processed so keys weren’t ready. If you’re going to compete with hotels, you have to have some luggage storage option, or otherwise don’t change your customers extra.
No pool towels. Something so simple and inexpensive. When I enquired about this I was told it would be $5 per extra towel! Have never stayed somewhere with a pool with no pool towels. This is a very easy fix. Buy 4 pool towels.
There was quite a bit about other reviews that are misleading. The apartment is not spacious. Too small for 4 people. The living area is very small. The view is of a light rail station (mountains are behind buildings in the distance) and there is road noise from the busy road. The sofa bed is uncomfortable. Takes a long while for water in shower to heat up and needs new shower head. The curtains are terrible and cheap and need replacement. Size, noise, no luggage storage, customer service
- Debbie (9/5): excellent location and very warm and comfortable - n/a all was good
- Stacy (8/5): Mostly enjoyable stay. Ideal location for work. Would return again - Nice, clean unit, great location. The shower head needs replacing or cleaning, as water doesn’t flow out effectively.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Sal (9/5): Superb - The apartment was clean, comfortable, modern and very close to the CBD.
- Bailey (9/5): Excellent stay in Canberra - Neat little apartment perfect for a short stay. It has everything you need. Parking was great. The pool was a nice addition to our holiday. Communication was great with hosts. Clean.
- Keira (6/5): We were satisfied with our stay! apart from the parking situation everything was PERFECT! Host were respectful! would 10 - it’s a very cozy property! modern, spacious & clean. We loved how close it is to everything- walking distance from the shopping centre. the keys handed to us didn’t work for parking/ boom gate.. a little bit unorganised as we were locked out for about 45mins to an hour after arriving.
We were given a second key for the parking which didn’t work either.
we did have to pay for parking for one night.
- Kerry (8/5): Very good -
- Nadija (3/5): Poor -
- Yan (10/5): Exceptional - The room is super clean and nice. The view is perfect. There are a lot of restaurants and shops around.
- Anastasiia (9/5): Superb -
- Chenzhu (9/5): Superb -
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (5/5): Great location, - Location close to Canberra city Check-in, Check-out, car park instructions
- Jalbert (4/5): Not value for money - expensive for a basic apartment and ordinary hosts - Do no recommend - Checking in was easy and instructions for parking were clear. The pool and sauna are very nice. Location is great - lots of good restaurant nearby. This unit was expensive (above market price) and we chose it because of the location and indoor pool expecting a high quality offering. What a disappointment!!! We were given the minimum - 3 towels for 3 people, no bathmat, no face washers, no pool towels or even just extra towels even though the property has an indoor pool. There were no instructions in the unit on how to access the pool or the gym - I had to ring the host for this and they did not know where the pool was and initially gave me the wrong information. The beds had minimum amount of linen, there were no extra blankets to be found anywhere. All the furniture was very basic. I had to use the desk for a conference call the in the morning and the desk chair was very old and uncomfortable - awful! Low quality furniture all round.
