• Lane Rachel (1/5): No AC, no airflow, tiny window only, stole €500 cash deposit - The location of the property is great, it’s a good part of this Gotic quarter that is less crowded and has a wonderful selection of shops and restaurants and can be accessed by taxi relatively easily which is a plus when you have luggage. The owner asked for a deposit €500 and said it would be returned upon checkout. She has still not returned it and we checked out several days ago. This is a great deal for money to loose and booking dot com is trying to help us get it back but it is such a nightmare to feel so taken advantage of by a woman who seemed nice and trustworthy. She also charged us €70 for a “linen package” saying no we could not bring our own sheets - I asked if she had bought new sheets already and she said yes, when we arrived there were old sheet on each bed, no top sheet, certainly not new. So we paid €70 euro for the use of old sheets. She also charged us €145 and €125 for “housekeeping” which never happened and for cleaning (that’s fine, the place we clean). When we arrived the AC was not working. The booking stay says “AC” right in the name and lists air conditioning as an amenity. If you have ever been to Barcelona in the summer, even end of summer, you know how hot it is, so of course I looked for AC exclusively when searching for accommodations. I also have a health condition that can be triggered by heat so it was important to me. I was very understanding that the AC was not working and she assured me (while taking my €570 euros) that she was having someone fix it. The next day she again ensured me someone was coming to look at it, no one came. Two times she said someone was coming “today”. Meanwhile the apartment was hotter than the outside. There are only two tiny windows in the whole place, one itty bitty one high on the wall above the refrigerator and one small on in the hallway on the other end and both tiny windows face an internal building stair hole - so no air whatsoever circulates and refreshes. Without any air circulation and without AC the fans (several are provided) are merely pushing hot air around like a hair blow dryer.
• lola (8/5): - i stayed here for almost 3 months, the accommodation was in the city centre so everything was closeby, loads of restaurants and tourist sites nearby, the park by 5 mins walk and beach by 20 mins walk which is convenient. it’s a cozy place, i enjoyed it there☺️ nothing really
