Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): A perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the view. - The location and view is outstanding. A new, clean and large unit with great facilities. Very quiet, and animals to greet you every morning 😃 Nothing could improve our stay. Although the TV reception isn’t good in the area.
- Christopher (9/5): - Beautiful view, very spacious
- Pieter (10/5): - Lots of space Not having more of my vriends there
- Diane (10/5): -
- HUI (10/5): 超好的体验 - 设施齐全、风景美丽 如果有洗衣机就更好了
- Ann Louise (10/5): A very relaxing and enjoyable stay in a perfect location in a perfect property. - The property was perfect - seemed very new very well equipped in fact we thought it was better than the photos! The most amazing view I couldn’t stop looking at it! Lots of local information leaflets which we found helpful. We loved the property no negatives at all. I guess you do have to drive to eat etc but we ate at the wharf as recommended by our hosts and had the best seafood of the holiday! Abd then back for a drink watching our view !
- Kym (9/5): -
- Alan (10/5): - The best place we stayed. Nothing to dislike.
- Darts180 (10/5): - Everything but especially the view and peace and quiet but being minutes away fromtown No laundry facilities on site.
- Susie (8/5): Relaxing peaceful and short drive to most attractions - How peaceful it was. Having space around the ppty. The animals. The kitchen was nice and big, great to have a full size fridge. The bed was really comfy. The shower had good pressure. We really enjoyed our stay. I would just suggest that a full sized mirror would be handy.
- Valeria (10/5): -
- Julie (9/5): -
- Scott (9/5): - Incredible views and we enjoyed feeding the animals. The place was clean & spacious, with good cooking facilities. The hosts also let us use the laundry facilities in the adjoining garage which was much appreciated. The TV position isn't great if you want to watch TV, but is likely the best option given the space available.
- Julie (10/5): Peaceful retreat with panoramic views - Great location, beautiful views, comfy bed, very private and quiet, spotlessly clean Nothing
- Anne (10/5): Loved our stay in this property which was close to St Helens and a short drive to the Bay of Fires. - A beautiful outlook in a peaceful rural setting with clean and comfortable amenities. Loved the friendly animals too. Excellent communication from our host.
- Georga (9/5): Great for families, so much room and close to town. Amazing views! - So much room great for families No washing dryer and not enough pegs to hang washing.
Children’s plates & cups that are plastic would be a great option as well to add so that kids aren’t using things that can break.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Fabulous property, highly recommend - Everything - location, space, animals More seating in the lounge would have been nice
- Joan (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation was roomy and had all that we needed. Ideal as we were visiting family at Binalong Bay. Lovely views looking back into St Helens Road into the property was a little narrow.
- Kerry (8/5): Lovely 2 night stay at St. Helen's, weather was not kind but the unit was comfortable and warm. - Location was great.....overlooking St Helen's. Bed was very comfortable, and unit was very spacious for 2 people. TV could be upgraded to HD and we were only able to get selected channels, and had to hunt around to find them.
Unit could have been a little cleaner, there were dead flies and a dead huntsman, (plus we had a live one... not a problem though for us). Basically, was very good.
- John (9/5): Quite place with a panoramic view. - Position overlooking Georges Bay. Good clean unit with very comfortable bed and ample kitchen supplies. Enjoyed our stay. Outside presentation with dirty windows, spiders and webs and weeds growing in gravel near door.
- Brenda (10/5): Best stay we’ve had in Tasmania! Beautiful view, lovely hosts, and plenty of amenities. - The location was outstanding as was the cottage. It was spotless clean, easy to get to from town, beaches and hiking trails, and it had all of the necessary info about the area which helped us a great deal. We will definitely stay here if we visit Tas again. Hugh and Celin were responsive and terrific communicators. We loved the animals! No changes needed.
- Mark (9/5): Nice comfortable apartment, with great outlook. - Location great lovely views of St Helens, high on a hill with lovely sunsets. Apartment was good with plenty of room and very comfortable. TV not working, we were hoping to watch the AO tennis, it seemed to be frozen on radio, there was sound but no picture. Hugh the owner was responsive in attempting to resolve the issues over the phone, but could not get it working.
- Carol (9/5): Bella vista - The position of the property and the views were superb. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. No washing machine
- Harvey (10/5): Very relaxing -
- Helen (9/5): A wonderful farm stay with a view to match. - The unit was great, with a large kitchen and living area. The views were amazing and there were lovely animals to visit and feed. It was located close to town, which was great. Nothing.
- Emily (9/5): Spectacular Views - The view was spectacular. It was close to everything in the area while still feeling private. The property was beautiful and getting to feed the animals was an added bonus while we were there. The owner was very responsive and very communicable. The place was very clean and tidy.
- Jane (8/5): A unique property because of it’s expansive views, well-located for exploring Bay of Fires. - We stayed in the little one bedroom flat adjoining the main house at George River Park for a couple of nights. This was a great location from which to explore the Bay of Fires/ east coast. We loved the gorgeous expansive views from the property, the starry skies at night, and the paddock featuring emus, kangaroo and goats. The flat was neat, clean and well-appointed, and we appreciated having good heating!. Would have been great to have access to the laundry, as we’d been travelling for a week and were ready to do a load of washing.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Gail (10/5): An exceptional property, well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Highly tecommended. - The property is spacious, meticulously clean and comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the presentation was top notch and the hosts were helpful and informative.
We enjoyed every moment of our stay and would recommend it to other travellers. We wouldn’t change anything about our stay, it was perfect.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (9/5): Beautiful location with nice modern fit out -
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the view, big comfortable house, animals were fun, very peaceful setting Nothing - it was superb
- Tim (9/5): Relaxing and quiet with great views. - No breakfast provided. Enjoyed feeding the animals Everything good.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Location fantastic views very comfortable My mobile phone c
- Stephen (5/5): Kids will enjoy the space, but adults wanting a level of style and comfort will be disappointed. - central heating. hosts were available to short notice to address issues. Sparsely furnished, limited facilities eg no ground coffee or coffee machine and rationed dishwasher tablets. Pillows and bedding were cheap and not particularly comfortable. light bulbs in bathrooms needing replacement.
- Brigida (10/5): Wonderful location with relaxing views. Appreciated the spacious rooms. And emus!! - We only got the instructions while travelling on how to unlock and enter the house on the day of entry. Would have appreciated it if we could have got the instructions two or three days beforehand.
- Judith (9/5): We enjoyed our stay here with close proximity to St Helens where Harolds brother is in Medea Park - The view and the set up. Easy to get to St.Helens. Bed was comfortable and the rest of the house was well set up! Couldnt open windows for air.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - The house sits on a hilly part of the property and overlooks the coast and the town of St Helens. Everyday, I saw the beautiful sunset and sunrise. I had a lot of privacy during my stay as the property is not located in the heart of town but is a mere 5-min drive away. Beautiful and tranquil place.
- Jacinta (10/5): Exceptional - The unit was clean, bright, spacious and modern. Exception location with views of the bay. Very peaceful and enjoyable yet very close to town and central to all attractions. Nothing to dislike...perfect
- Hal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wai (8/5): Despite the little hiccups we did enjoy our stay in this beautiful part of Tassie - THE VIEWS!!!!!! it was a little difficult to find. Instructions and signage could be better. Property was supposed to have wifi BUT there was no wifi instructions.
- Gordon (9/5): Superb - great space and well equipped , the animals were a relaxing addition nil
- Ellen (8/5): pleasant - gorgeous view over George’s River. very convenient location to StHelen for shopping and restaurants although separated by a storage shed our accommodation was attached to the main house. this meant it was not completely private. The main house had an outside seating area and if guests staying there used it. it could be disruptive. Also the peacocks left their “calling card “ every morning in the area right outside the front door!
- Leanne (10/5): So happy we picked this place to stay in, loved it! - We loved the location, the view was amazing. Everything in the room was lovely. It was very comfortable, and private and it was very clean. Loved the interaction with the animals on the property. Just wished we stayed longer, 3 nights is too short for this place.
- Kerry (7/5): everything was great just needed to update the bed and it would have been perfect - Beautiful location and views. The house was very well maintained and equipped with all you could need.
Loved the wildlife in the paddock below. The bed was very saggy. we had to sleep across the bed because the normal sleeping position was too uncomfortable
- Carolyn (9/5): Very comfortable and quiet location. - Location was great. Lovely view although it was a little windy when we were there and we were not able to sit outside.
- Erica (10/5): Stunning view - Relaxing stay away from the hustle n bustle. Beautiful view of the township, accom had everything we needed.
- Elvie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Beautiful views, comfortable, clean accommodation, and loved the animals. - We provided our own breakfast. Removal of outside spiders and wasp nests.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Everything lovely place so relaxing and scenery Nothing at all
- Ellie (10/5): Great Accommodation with breathtaking views! - Great location with picturesque view over St Helens and the bay. The private beach on George River was perfect for my fisherman husband. All the essential amenities you need.
- Marion (8/5): good for short stay in st Helen’s area - comfortable and spacious. Enjoyed seeing the owners pet animals. Easy drive to Bay of Fires no washing machine however there is a laundromat in St Helens
- Eloise (10/5): Beautiful views - Beautiful location on the hill. The studio was well appointed with a full kitchen and large bedroom. Feeding the animals on the property was also cool!
- Douglas (8/5): Very good -
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luke (10/5): Fantastic Stay - The location was great. Exclusive property overlooking St Helens with incredible views. Had all the required amenities and very clean. The animals were cool.
Great communication from the host and we're greatful for the food recommendations.
- John (6/5): This property was a disappointment. - The house was very big so there was plenty of room. A great place for a large family group. The view across St Helens was beautiful. It is a convenient spot for exploring this area. Communication with the owner was straightforward and helpful. The kitchen is well stocked with cutlery and plates etc. and cleaning products. The animals add a little interest and would be enjoyed by children. The house was like a sparsely furnished display home. This property has the feel of a place bought for high rental returns with minimal upkeep. Swallows nest at front door with bird mess everywhere around the entry.
The beds were not comfortable unless you like them extra firm. There are security cameras everywhere which make you feel big brother is watching you. The stove top had malfunctioning burners.
The outside property is poorly maintained and the grass is waist high so walking anywhere in the "100 acres" was impossible. The "wonderful beach" was inaccessible. I guess it was there somewhere if you waded through the grass and swamp and were not worried about snakes.
It is some distance from the shopping area so any expedition requires transport. Don't expect any extras, this is just an empty house. No milk in the fridge and some stale teabags in the pantry amid a collectrion of leftover food stuffs (and a security sensor when you open the pantry door). From the previous reviews we expected better!
- Lloyd (9/5): Country Retreat. - We loved the location and the views. The unit was spacious, clean and modern. We enjoyed feeding the animals on the property, this was an added attraction. Some general tidying up around the exterior would add to the appeal of this property.
- Daren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - It is a beautiful house. Looks out over George's Bay. Close to St Helen's. Loved feeding the animals on the property. It was very comfortable for a family of 5 adults. There were wallabies close to the house. Would like to see a clothes airer for putting clothes under cover out the back. It rained and there was nowhere to hang clothes out of the rain.
