• Blake (1/5): Wouldn’t go back to that place… - We showed up and place was double booked… I called owner and did not get a call back for 2 hrs, he finally called back after we found another place to stay begging us to go back to another apartment. I asked for our money back and he says it would be to much trouble
• Kimberley (3/5): I had two sleepless nights due to the heat, very glad to leave and get back home - Nice kitchen with dishwasher. I was contacted by owner 3 hours before checking in to advise that there was a problem with the unit. He advised me that if I wanted to cancel he understood; the owner did provide a solution to that problem to our satisfaction. However, there were other issues with the unit. Steep stairs(not dog friendly or senior friendly) air conditioning was not cooling the unit (we put together two floor fans which were found in the living room, only way we could somewhat tolerate the excessive heat. Mold in the shower, no smoke detectors, faucet in bathroom vanity was loose, one bedroom did not have accessible electrical outlets, only had 1 spoon and 1 fork on arrival, cutlery replaced on 2nd day when owner advised, blinds twisted on living room window, could smell cigarette smoke on occasion and butts on the parking area, lock box for keys used same code for 2 units (Hassim said only cleaner and my unit had code). Side table in one bedroom had cigarette burns. The lock box was very difficult to open, I had to help another tenant to open the box, which is why I found out that they used the same code as myself. Hassim offered a discount on the phone, none given although I did ask for partial refund when I checked out online.
• Salamatou (4/5): - Le point positif est la proximité de Niagara Falls. C'était la raison de notre voyage! Il y avait du café disponible que mon conjoint a apprécié. La liste des choses que nous n'avons pas appréciées est très longue: L'appartement n'etait pas aussi agréable qu'on pouvait le penser en voyant les photos. Aucun sofa disponible ni table basse au salon. Nous etions obligés de nous assoir tout le temps sur les chaises dures de la table à manger ou sur les lits . Le propriétaire nous a dit que le locataire précédent avait brisé le sofa et qu'il allait en mettre un autre le lendemain de notre arrivée. Finalement il envoie un message et une image disant qu'il n'a pas pu faire rentrer le nouveau sofa dans l'appartement ! Les tapis montrés sur les photos n'y étaient pas non plus. Aucune des portes ne pouvait être barrée même pas celle de la salle de bain (Bonjour l'intimité!) Aucune des fenêtres ne pouvait être condamnée et tous les stores étaient en piteux état. L'appartement était trop froid et nous ne pouvons pas contrôler nous-mêmes la tempête. Le propriétaire a dit l'avoir baissée pour la 2e nuit, mais le mal était fait. Le froid, l'aération déficiente combinés aux odeurs et Poils de chats présents, la poussière sous les lits, etc. nous ont rendus tous malades (toux et rhume). D'autres petits desagrements: - Robinetterie en mauvais état - pas de quoi accricher dea serviettes (4 personnes) -Ustensiles manquants: il y avait 1 seule fourchettte, une cuillère à café et pleins de couteaux. Bref nous n'en avons pas eu pour notre argent!
• Melissa (2/5): Did Not Get What I Paid For; Not Likely to Book AirBnB through Booking.com Again; Only Hotels. - The Wifi worked. Even if the plumbing in the shower was improperly installed, the shower had a small hot water tank that provided hot water for at least 12 minutes. While there were spiders in the hall way and bedrooms, there were no ants in the kitchen. Generally, if you overlook the rust and mildew breaking through the white-painted walls and radiators, the apartment looks clean and well-furnished even if the person who cleans the unit sweeps much of the clutter underneath the beds (dust clumps, dollarama bags, receipts). Bed sheets and towels were clean. Washer, Dryer, Kitchen Fridge, Kitchen sink worked well; most of the engineered floor cover was functional (only one jagged piece stuck out near the kitchen sink). At least one bathroom sink faucet handle worked; someone tried to use caulking to glue the lever of the other sink lever. The reasons I chose this property: location, images and price (and because a previous AirBnB emailed to say that the original property had electrical issues and was unavailable for my arrival a week later). Checkout is normally at 10h00. By 13h00, I had indicated that I was on the road and would like the code to unlock the AirBnB @ 18h. Less than an hour after, I get a call indicating that a previous renter had trashed the place and my unit (a beautifully decorated upper floor apartment of a house), which I had paid in full was unavailable, 5h not enough time to clean, but was offered an "upgrade" close by. Also told that I had not paid for my booking; I paid in advance to secure the booking. The whole point of going through secure platform is to avoid providing details like a credit card through text or email. My reservation would not have been approved by Booking.com if the payment was in error, so I did not enjoy having to provide screenshots of my proof of payment with my bank. I stopped my car on the highway to confirm that the door code was the right code for the new upgrade. I was told it was... luckily, the owner of the "upgrade" unit answered my second phone call to give me the correct door code. I chose Welland as the location because that was where my sports competition was occurring; to be told that the "upgrade" was not much further away (while driving and on speaker phone) and then to realize that I was staying 32 minutes away from my competition was frustrating. To find out that I was in a basement apartment hearing the sounds of people above walking throughout the night robbed me of rest. To inspect the suite and find signs of rushed plaster and paint over mildew in all rooms was upsetting. The fire alarm connection is not to code. The electrical is hidden behind the walls and new electrical has been run over the walls. There was no parking available nearby. The door lock is almost broken.
• Chelsea (10/5): Exceptional - I adored the location, very close to my family and super convenient for my own needs on this trip. It is a spacious 2 bedroom apartment ideal for solo trips or to bring a friend or partner. The facilities are great, super clean and well used space! Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet and clean place! :) Nothing to not like personally, it was amazing for what I needed and wanted.
