• Marek (2/5): Very loud experience - Close to the airport, nice surroundings Apartment right in the runway centerline, unreal noise of the airport until midnight, landings every 3 min with incredible noise. At midnight the host continued in the next room with loud online call until 2am, which was extremely distracting. Room with no air conditioning, it had just been a tropical night. We didn't get any sleep at all, it was not a good experience. Wifi also did not worked.
• Nora (7/5): It is a good accomodation for one-night stay close to Zurich airport. - It is a modern appartment. There was only a common bathroom. It was difficult to find the house even with the help of google maps because it is in the middle of a series of blocks of flats. There was no breakfast in the lodge or in the surrounding area. In the evening airplanes are flighing very close above the house landing in a few kms away at Zurich airport. It is almost spectacular to see them.
• Baneen (1/5): Bad - My stay at this guesthouse was extremely frustrating and did not meet expectations. The room I reserved through my booking was not the one provided upon arrival, which was a significant letdown. Furthermore, they told me 20 CHF for parking, double the 10 CHF rate explicitly mentioned on the booking platform. The absence of Wi-Fi was another major inconvenience, and the overall lack of attention to guest needs and concerns was apparent. This accommodation a deeply unsatisfactory experience.
• Richard (1/5): Avoid this Accommodation - Hard to find, no directions, had to phone to gain access, not welcoming, no cooling, directly under flight path so noisy until midnight, when I departed and returned to pick up a folder I had left behind, the owners representative would not assist with entry. One of the 2 permanent occupants did assist. Suggest avoid this accommodation.

They know that their place is not gr - No air conditioning even in their descriptions it says that they have A/C. The kitchen and dining room and washer and dryer are shared, but that is not told to you on their descriptions it of the property. They make it look like it is luxurious, but it is not! Wi-Fi didn’t work either.

• Willem-jan (3/5): Poor - Upon arrival we had to wait outside for 30 minutes until someone finally came to open the door. We had to call the phone number several times. We did not feel welcome. Then it turned out that the advertised breakfast was not there. No compensation was given for this either. The coffee machine in our room also did not work. There are also other people in the house. All in all a disappointing experience. Not worth the money to stay here.

Even a local person had trouble finding it for me. Not a lot of communication from owner. The ph no I called him as stated on the advert was his work no and asked me not to call it. Huge bag of yucky rubbish in kitchen. No towel on bed. I helped myself to towel in bathroom hoping no one else used it. No toiletries as promised. No free breakfast as advertised. Wifi was a QR code which I found myself. Bed linen didn’t look fresh. Not a happy camper at all. Location was its best feature.

• Max (9/5): Superb - A very clean and comfortable stay close to Zurich’s airport! The room and bathroom were clean and the owners seemed nice although I didn’t talk to them much.
• Rozita (5/5): Just ok. - The room and bathroom cleanliness. Someone keep talking loudly all day in the living hall. The parking rate was CHF10 mentioned in booking.com. Upon arrival it was CHF20. Most of the favilities need to pay extra charge which is didnt mentioned in booking.com earlier. They provide ironing facilities for free but on the iron board there were clothes! On the sofa was someone sleeping at night.

However, compared to prices in central, this was really worth it. Owner lives in the apartment, he was very kind, polite and really helpful throughout our stay. None, met the expectations for our money.

• Daniel (8/5): room in someone's home - Rooms are very clean! Staff is nice, doing their best. Note: "home stay" means that you will stay in someone's home. You will get your own room, but the living room, kitchen and bathroom is shared with the owner and other guests. The owner may welcome you in his pyjamas or you my find him sleeping on the couch in the living room. Also, the airport is super close. We stayed for 3 nights. Sunday evening planes were arriving right above the building and that is very noisy. Arrivals happened until 23:00 and it was very quite after that, so much so that I slept with windows open.

The owner (or personal?) was present the the main living room the entire day and also the evening. You could her them speaking in the main living room.

• Manjeri (4/5): It’s a not home stay, just a glorified hostel with individual rooms to rent, clean bathrooms and some groceries you coul - Access to the airport is a highlight- just 5 min by Uber and 5 min by local bus too. The place is new and clean. The pillow cases were rough ( texture). The bath tub was very dangerously slippery- I am almost fell. So owners should add an anti skid bath mat. The breakfast was DIY and options were bread & jam, and bananas. The hosts or staff were cooking , eating and chatting way into the night , in the living area outside the bedroom and we couldn’t sleep as the room was not sound proofed. We had an early morning long haul flight to catch and lost much sleep.

The other room was alright. The major problem was the washroom. In fact one washroom for three rooms, in the morning we had to be in the queue for using the toilet.

Check-in was uncomplicated and the hosts were very warm and friendly (even offering me to join them for yummy smelling curry dinner!) Bedroom and bathroom were very clean. I liked that the doors had a key code on them. As others have previously commented, I found it difficult finding the apartment building. It is located in a maze of identical-looking apartment buildings. Rätschensgässli is a sort of T-shaped street and if you use Google then it doesn’t seem to even be on that street. (I will try to upload a picture). This, of course, is not the fault of host although better instructions (pictures or a Youtube video) would have been useful. Although the pictures of the room, bathroom and exterior are accurate, the uploaded photos of the living room are outdated. There is now more furniture and looks more like a shared apartment, which it is. It’s true that the walls are thin and that it can be a bit noisy so although I was able to sleep, I wouldn’t recommend this place to light sleepers who need to catch an early flight.

• Jonathan (8/5): A pleasant room in quiet area near the airport - The host, Sanjeev, is friendly and made me a coffee on arrival. The location is very near to Zurich airport. When I checked in I left my passport with the host who kept it in their safe. The area is very peaceful and there are several restaurants just around the corner. The sound of planes taking off overhead can be noisy. The room is like an Airbnb as you are staying in someone's house so the bathroom is shared and the sound from other rooms can sometimes travel. The price is relatively expensive but for Zurich it is quite good value

• Thomas (1/5): Bad - Our stay at this listing unfortunately wasn’t a happy one. We booked it last minute on a discounted price from an original listing price of 200euros per night. This, plus the fact that the listing had the word ‘luxury’ in it, made it feel like we had a wonderful bed and breakfast on our hands. Nothing was farther from the truth, though. The room you rent is quite literally a spare bedroom in a family’s residential apartment, of which two other bedrooms are also rented out. The family who owns the apartment actively lives and uses the main areas (living room, kitchen, balcony), and have their personal belongings laying around there too, meaning that these facilities become rather inaccessible for the guests, despite these rooms being advertised as natural extensions of your room. This also means that all guests mostly stay inside their rooms, only infrequently making a shy and quick visit to the bathroom. Staying in the room would’ve been somewhat fine if the rooms would have had air conditioning and a tv screen, as the wording of the ad suggests - and the word ‘luxury’ most definitely would make you assume - however neither of these facilities were in the room. When we woke up and got ready to leave around 9.30am, we found the hosts in their pyjama’s asleep on the two couches in the living room. We weren’t able to wake them up using our voices, and as the situation was generally very comfortable, we had to leave without the breakfast which we had paid for. All in all our experience was not a happy one and despite the hosts being friendly, we highly recommend them to revise their ad and paint a more accurate picture of the place and the room(s). This listing seems to be nearly exclusively suitable for those who are on a tight budget and whose only alternative is sleeping on the airport benches. If that’s not the situation you’re in, we’d highly recommend booking something else than this listing.
