- Homer John (1/5): They are cheaters. They turn off heater switch alot earlier than actual posted time - Room is small. Bedding with plastic and it sounds a lot. Location not bad. Overall. I paid city tax already at booking.com but the reception askked HK$100 again for city tax otherwise they will not let us check in. This is cheating.

- Islam Nahid (10/5): -
- Alyzon (1/5): Over charge!! - Dirty!! Nothing!!

- Stanislava (1/5): The worst place to stay overnight ever - location Poor Cleanliness: I saw big cockroaches in the hallway. The toilet even in the private room is horrible. It’s not possible to take a shower because it’s not a shower , it’s not even closed, it’s just a shower faucet.
Scams: The staff refused to accept credit cards (contradicting their own policy) to avoid taxes. They insisted on a cash deposit (100 HKD) that was not stated in the booking terms and then refused to return it. We were also charged an additional, unexplained "tax” (32 HKD) even that we already payed a tax through booking. Another guest confirmed the same scam with tax and deposit, the staff didn’t return him a deposit. Furthermore, the staff demanded 30 HKD per item for luggage storage, regardless of size even if it’s a small bag.
The staff aggressively tried to upsell us to a room with a private bathroom for an extra 150 HKD for 2 nights (he initially said 350 HKD). He claimed that with our original booked room, which had a shared toilet, we would have to queue with about 30 other people.
After I offered to pay by card due to a lack of cash, he refused and told me that I could buy him cigarettes for that amount of money. In the end we changed the money and gave him a cash.

- Ctaindia (1/5): I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and the numerous issues I faced during my recent stay - I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and the numerous issues I faced during my recent stay at the Kowloon Youth Village Tsim Sha Tsui Hostel. I strongly advise against staying at this hostel based on my experience.
Upon my arrival, I encountered an unprofessional and unpleasant staff member, whose name I unfortunately cannot recall. This individual acted in a manner that was both rude and deceitful. He cancelled my existing booking made via Booking.com and requested an additional HKD 290 to process a new booking. His justification was that I arrived at the hostel at 14:00, while according to him, the booking time was from 19:00 to 09:00.
Furthermore, he insisted that I pay a HKD 10 "Hong Kong tax." Reluctantly, I complied and paid the amount, only to be forced to book a new room at the same hostel.
The room itself was extremely small, narrow, and poorly maintained. The bathroom was even more concerning: the door was so narrow that I could not fit through it. Additionally, the room was dimly lit and emitted an unpleasant odor, making the overall experience uncomfortable.
Upon reviewing the hostel’s guest guidelines, I discovered that the official check-in time was 19:00, and the checkout time was 09:00. The guidelines also stated that if guests wished to store their luggage, an additional fee of HKD 30 would apply for 12 hours (until midnight), or HKD 50 for a full day. This policy was not clearly communicated at the time of my arrival.
In total, I not only lost the money I paid for my original Booking.com reservation, but I also had to pay an additional HKD 290 plus a HKD 10 tax. To make matters worse, when I requested an invoice or receipt at checkout, the staff member denied my request, claiming they do not provide invoices for bookings.
It is disheartening to experience such a lack of professionalism, especially when relying on a trusted platform like Booking.com. I am left wondering why Booking. - Alvin (1/5): The worst. Won't recommend - npear TST MTR station It's dirty, and the owner is a scammer. Paid 2k HKD upon booking with the idea that it will have separate beds, working hot and cold shower, basic toiletries provided. Lo and behold, we were charged an additional 800HKD to be able to check in around 2pm (standard was 7pm apparently WTF), and private bathrooms???? Everything listed was exactly the opposite!!! Worse is, still no towels provided, beddings were just a 2inch foam on a plywood. The ambience was similar to a prison cell.
- Jean (1/5): Bad - Nothing It's a scam we need to pay to upgrade the room. Even I booked a room with toilet. Need to pay 5k then another 2 hundred deposit. Then time we check out in the hostel only 50 deposit give it back. I think Booking.com you need to review this and now I receive email. That I never show up.
- Eliezer (1/5): Bad - to be honest.rooms are not what you see in the photo. It is just not worth it. Not safe to stay here especially for women. You need to have a lot of balls to check here. Its not worth it.
- 何 (7/5): Good - place point is very good check out claim so early
- Lincoln (3/5): Poor - The location The information provided on the website is wrong especially when it comes to checkout time.
- Viacheslav (5/5): Passable -
- Ma. (3/5): I HATE THIS PLACE - I like that it's near the station so it's convenient to commute. Almost everything, it's so hard to find the exact location of the hotel. I also feel like I got scammed because the one I booked was a private room with built in toilet, but when I arrived, the owner told me that is not what I booked even when I showed him the pictures and booking confirmation he insisted that is not the deal so I had to pay an extra 200HKD just to get a private room with toilet. The room isn't clean and the aircon was broken, the sheets don't look like they've been replaced and it really stinks. The place is also very small and it made me claustrophobic, I'm already a small person I'm 5'1" and the place felt so small and narrow for me. I hated my stay, It's a good think I only stayed for 1 night, but I could've gotten a much more better room somewhere else for the price. The staff were very very rude too! :(
- Ashar (1/5): Really Bad Stay. Don’t Book It. A Scam. - Nothing much, perhaps the location is nice Not clean at all, owner is rude and yells and does not listen at all. There is a deposit that has to be paid when you check-in that is not mentioned anywhere. This is essentially a scam in the grand scheme of things to get you to give your money. There is an extra charge for dropping off luggage early, earlier check in than the one they give which is so late at 7 PM. The dorm room is really small; bathroom is unusable. The elevator to get to this place takes forever; I thought it was a cheap deal, but not worth the chaos and bad conditions.
- Suphathada (10/5): Great location/ Fun and adventerous you will be amaze on this building tons of exiting Hongkong h - The uncle he is really nice!! guys at 1st you might view him as loud and aggressive guys but once your talk calmly he will be your best Hongkong adviser and really good friends
Its only how he speak naturally loud thats it, he's great !!
- Md (7/5): Good -
- Md (8/5): Very good -
- Naomi (1/5): Extremely Disappointing Experience - Avoid This Property - None I had a very frustrating experience with my stay at this property booked through Booking.com. The room I received was nothing like the one shown in the description. Upon check-in, I was informed that the toilet was locked and I would have to pay an additional 60-80 CAD to have it unlocked. This was not mentioned at all during booking.
To make matters worse, if you lose the key they charge a steep 100 dollars. The lack of privacy was alarming as well – the owner came into my room twice without any prior notice or explanation. I was only staying one night, and I felt more like I was in a jail than a hotel.
The room itself was dirty, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the space and insects all over the place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It's misleading, uncomfortable, and lacks basic respect for guests' privacy. I will not be returning, and I advise others to be cautious when booking here.
- Juan (6/5): Need not comfortable at all small room guy friendly but trying to over charge - The guy that works there tried to over charge The gentleman trying to over charge
- Ramandeep (5/5): Passable -
- Muhammad (1/5): Overall very bad experience - Location The Property owner charged me double money. He snatched money from my hands and blackmil me to call the police and I was saying before give the money to give me a chance to visit room but he denied. The room condition is very bad. 10 people were in the room with very dirty smell.
- Chouaib (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jerome (1/5): Bad -
- M. (9/5): Superb - Everything was best. See you again Nothing
- Keanu (2/5): Not a great option for solo traveller's - The location of the property is quite central. So ease of access to MTR, parks, restaurants, shopping malls and attractions. The hostel's accommodation left much to be desired. The mixed dormitory, where I opted for what was described as a 'Futon bed', turned out to be a massage bed—too small and far from comfortable for a good night's sleep. The cleanliness of the rooms was also a concern, as they appeared not to be regularly cleaned. Upon arrival, I was provided with damp and unclean pillows and sheets, and despite requests, it took two days to receive new ones. Additionally, the issue of pests, specifically mice, was quite unsettling. Lastly, the lack of proper ventilation, with only one fan for a six-person room, made the summer humidity nearly unbearable.
- Ivan (10/5): Every body come here - Very good hotel
- Wing (1/5): Location was the only positive - Nothing!! Everything.. room was dirty , cockroaches, bugs etc!! Website says kettle , fridge towels provided yes had a same towel for the whole 3 weeks!
- Rakesh (1/5): Bad -
- Ladsamee (1/5): Extremely bad hotel ever - Fake hotel, dirty and stinky I was disappointed to see the room it was so small and very bad
- Suphathada (10/5): Exceptional - Super frienly staff close to everthing easy access helpful
- Anan (1/5): Bad - It is smaller than in the picture. And there was a cursed smell from the mattress, the bathroom was dirty, this building was from India. very bad smell It is smaller than in the picture. And there was a cursed smell from the mattress, the bathroom was dirty, this building was from India. very bad smell
- Divyanshu (5/5): Not so good. If you are above 6ft, you would not even het space to streatch your legs inside room. - Location was ok 1. Extra small room with just 25-30sqft space. No space to keep even a single luggage inside room.
2. Shared bathroom was too small: I have never seen such small bathroom ever in my life. Hardly 10sqft. No space to take shower inside. You have to somehow adjust your feet to stand and take shower. Changing dress was super challenging.
- Motseoa (1/5): Bad - Nothing At HK Hostel, the receptionist was very rude to me, I had booked a bunked bed in a shared dometry. He put me in a room full of males, I requested to be put in a female dom, he laughed at me and spoke in Chinese to the other males that I found in there. I asked to change the room and upgrade for a single room. He took my money and put me in another shared room where the was a male chinese person sleeping in there. He further told me that I should not lock the room as the key does not work. I asked him if there is no single room where I can feel safer. He yelled and left me in there.
I went back to the reception to ask for a check out and a refund for a top up. Only now because there were other people at the reception who were also going to check in I was given a proper room. However, my entire stay was very uncomfortable because of the unsettling events.
At Booking.com please check the safety and credibility of the Hostel before posting it here. Please take our feedback into consideration. Next time it will be a young girl like me whom unfortunately has no voice and this could end up ugly. Please consider female safety in Hostel where they are shared dometries. Make sure the owner has both male and female dometries.
I discourage any female booking with that hostel. It is not save. It is so uncomfortable.

- Hanah (1/5): Bad - NOTHING !!! DIFFERENT FROM THE PHOTOS POSTED! IT IS THE WORST EVER PLACE. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP. THEY GAVE ME DOUBLE DECK WITH AN OLD BED SHEETS, PILLOW CASE AND BLANKET.
THE PLACE IS A H*LL . VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF ! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS HOSTEL . I BOOKED FOR A 4 NIGHTS AND ONLY STAY FOR 1 NIGHT (JUST BECAUSE I COULD NOT FIND ANOTHER ONE AND I WAS REALLY TIRED!)
- Aidar (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is good.
