Guest Reviews
- Hibah (7/5): Good -
- Abbey (1/5): Awful experience, felt extremely unsafe and room was dirty and small - Nothing The room was in a sketchy area, part of a housing commission building and felt very unsafe staying there. There was a dirty old couch out the front of the house. My friend and I booked for 5 nights and left after 1, when the other house guests were slamming doors and screaming until 3am which made us feel very uncomfortable. We didn’t feel safe stepping out of our room and our door didn’t close properly. We didn’t feel safe opening the window of our room, so it was very hot and no fans were supplied. The bedding was dirty with hair in it and the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The room was extremely small with barely any room to walk around or store bags. The experience was awful and I would never recommend this accomodation to anyone, especially not young girls.
- Zakaria (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (1/5): Everything was shit - Nothing They had overbooked the room i was gonna stay in, found a guy in my bed. Left me stranded at halv 2 in the middle of the night in London.. The owner did not answer my calls.. Both the owner and booking.com did not help at all.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
- Aamir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harmanjot (1/5): Bad -
- Duty (6/5): Pleasant - Simple check in process and the accomodation was clean
- Ahmad (1/5): Bad - Washroom Bed room small and dirty
- Linda (1/5): Awful, as soon as I came I booked another hotel. Trying to get a refund for this visit! - absoloutly not! it was disgusting, smelled awful everything was dirty and the host was rude af. There was an old disgusting sofa outside, the kitchen was dirty there was a spidernet over my head. And dust everywhere!
- Romilly (1/5): Bad -
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad -
- Margita (5/5): Passable -
- Marilyne (1/5): Bad - Do not support this establishment. Those rooms are located in a social housing building which is absolutely inappropriate and probably illegal.
- Nick (8/5): Very good - room was good size and great location for The Troxy gig i attended. decor was tired and a freshen up wouldn't cost a lot.
- Emmanuella (6/5): Pleasant - The location was just some few minutes walk from the bus stop. The bathroom was cool The room was too small. I actually saw a bedbug in the room.
- Hovhannisyan (8/5): Comfortable and affordable stay - Value for your money was sublime. Locks could have been tighter.
- Chandran (5/5): Passable -
- Tendai (8/5): Very good - Location was convenient for my stay.
- Anjum (8/5): Very good -
- Yash (8/5): Very good -
- Duty (6/5): Good - Had all the basic amenities
Iron, linen, daily cleaning... No tea or coffee in kitchen
- Strachan (1/5): Bed bugs! - Nothing There were bed bugs!
- Neharu (5/5): Passable - Ntg there is no water bottle
- Madź (9/5): Against all appearances, a very nice place! - First of all - the room was big and warm. The beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable - I haven't slept like that on a trip in a long time. The bathroom was clean and tidy, with a comfortable shower without any mold or damp. Opening the door with a pin was very convenient and quick. The kitchen was nicely equipped.
I know that the average rating of this place is lowered by the location, but for me it was perfect because it was close to Troxy, and also close to the bus stop from which there was a direct bus to the city center (Trafalgar Square). The district may not be the best, but there is a fantastic cafe nearby, as well as all the necessary shops. I managed to meet the staff, who did not speak English but were very nice. Overall, a very nice place and should have a higher rating. Check-in was from 3pm but we had to wait a bit longer because the staff didn’t finish cleaning our room. Also, the couch in front of the property is terrible, someone should get rid of it.
- Ahemed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Cyros (8/5): Very good -
- Rihter (5/5): Okay - It was very clean, and we met staff once and they were very nice. The bathroom and kitchen were also tidy. The blanket was clean and thick. Mostly the location, if you are travelling by yourself or if you are a woman i wouldn’t recommend it because of the location. There wasn’t anything specific but we as four girls alone didn’t feel safe in the neighbourhood. The pillows are veryyyy thin so bring ur own. The mattress was too soft but that is just personal preference.
- Abass (1/5): Life fustrating - Only the bathroom Everything down to the kitchen
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roxana (9/5): Everything was great - Location and clean I have nothing to say
- Faizan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ana (6/5): Great value for the money - I stayed with my mother at this property and asked for a warm room. The host provided us with a great comfortable room that was very warm, the bed was amazing. The bus station is in one minute from the property, one tube station is 11 minutes walking other is 20 minutes walking. Please note that the neighbourhood is quite modest compared to other parts of London. The sound isolation is poor, you can hear what is going on in the other rooms. There is no bin in the group bathroom on purpose. Any garbage you make you have to take it to the bathroom, which I find it not practical.
- Noma (4/5): Disappointing -
- Dilwer (9/5): Superb -
- Walid (6/5): Pleasant -
- Debreceni (6/5): Pleasant - Bathroom nice and tidy. KITCHEN AS WELL .. The room ivory very small dorsn t have a bedside That big table doesn't belong. Mattess was really worried out was no bedside lamp at all..and
- Maskri (5/5): Passable - Close to all places
- Osama (1/5): Bad - Nonthing like the images, small not clean, beds are not comfortable Nonthing like the images, small not clean, beds are not comfortable
- Camilla (1/5): Not good - Nothing to be honest It’s in a bad area and it doesn’t look like the pictures AT ALL! We were supposed to stay in room 4 but our door didn’t close fully at the top and our room was incredibly small:/
We chose to leave and book another hotel which is super unfortunate
We were scared to sleep here since our door didn’t close properly
- Adjei (6/5): Was good - Bathroom Duvet and pillows
- Richard (6/5): Air b & b type of accommodation in East End of London. - The bed was comfortable and the residential street in which the house was situated was reasonably quiet. It was also just 'a stones throw' from central London. Both my room and the bathroom were very clean. It was difficult getting into the house. The code I had been given for the front door didn't work. (The code for my room was fine!) It was as well that someone was in who kindly let me into the house. Otherwise I would have been in trouble. If you are coming from Liverpool Street station you'll need a taxi. As the house is down a side street just off a busy main road.
- Kaosarat (4/5): Not nice. - Closeness to property. Sharing toilet and bathroom 4-6 more people, the room was extremely uncomfortable because it’s very small. More of one person room.
- Barbara (8/5): Very good -
- Rebeca (7/5): Nice room close to troxy - Close to troxy. Wide room and beds. Good heating and well equipped kitchen. The pillows were very flat, needed to use a towel underneath. Not very close to restaurants but few supermarkets nearby. Not very accessible from city center.
- Adedayo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (7/5): Good - I would say that this is pretty much what I expected for the price I paid. It was clean which was one of the main things I was looking at when I booked. The cleaner came every day and changed the bathmats, tea towels ect and mopped the floors. There were 2 bathrooms and they were always clean and I never felt that there was a big queue to use them. Fridge was also really clean and you can tell the cleaner must be attending that pretty closely too.
The property was easy to contact, and when I had to message about an issue quite late in the evening they were very responsive. One thing to be aware of is the rooms (or at least my room- double bedroom) are quite small and there is no storage space or draws ect so if you have bags or items you are travelling with It's not easy to be there too long. There also isn't any common area- dining table or living space. So you either had to eat in your room (there was a small table in the room) or at the bench where there is one chair.
I do think it could be slightly better equipped, there was a kitchen that had some basic kitchenware but definitely a few key elements missing- i.e no toaster, there was an oven but no baking trays so cleaner had to wipe out the oven everyday because whenever anyone used the oven it dripped through - I ended up having to buy myself a baking tray, chopping board, dishwashing brush and peeler so just be prepared for that if you actually want to prepare anything more complex than microwave meals.
I would have really appreciated a little bit more flexibility when I wanted to change my dates- not really the property's fault as they did say it was non-refundable, however some flexibility would definitely make me more likely to book again- especially since they would likely have been able to rent the room out to someone else as it seemed fully booked the whole time I was there and I gave plenty of notice. I wouldn't have booked something non-refundable if I hadn't thought I could cancel using booking.com's cancellation insurance. It was very misleading when they offered it as part of the booking and didn't make clear that the conditions were VERY restrictive until after I had booked. I asked booking.com and the property if I could reduce my stay by a few days and both said I could talk to the other to do this, with both citing the other for the NO answer.
Definitely would NOT recommend booking.com's cancellation insurance, whilst when you book it sounds like it will let you cancel up until check in, this has VERY limited conditions for use
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - I like all your facilities.
- Saidur (10/5): Exceptional - Everything I'd gd
- Ajayi (4/5): Not worth the price - The baths were clean Too small and uncomfortable.
- Hammad (8/5): Great place to stay - The room was tidy along with the loo and kitchen. Could do with thicker pillows.
- Olga (6/5): Whitechapel accommodation - Room clean the bed was comfortable. Hairdryer shampoo shower gel provided. Kitchen facilities available. Value for money. It was good to have an ensuite in our bedroom. The location down a dark alleyway with lots of let's eat couriers was not a good experience at all for a mother and young daughter. The bathroom was very musty I would say the flooring under the lino is damp. I would suggest a plastic or glass shower door.A more powerful extractor fan would work better. Shower curtains not very hygiene. The towel rail kept falling of the wall that needs to be fixed. A hanger on the back of the bathroom door would be very useful. Entrance carpet stained and dirty looking a more hard-wearing darker carpet would be better.
- Lloyd (6/5): It was suitable for a ‘one-off’ night, but would not be suitable for more than that, unfortunately. - There clearly has been effort made to make the property as presentable as possible. For the price you pay, you have what you need. Unfortunately, because all the rooms are in very close proximity to each other, you are constantly hearing doors opening/closing, doors banging and people having sex.
- Liezl (1/5): We dont have privacy because it was shared toilet and kitchen. On our 2nd day i saw the rat and some of our food contami - Its okay the bus stop is near but busy street There is rat and actually not clean. The shower drain is blocked.
- Dawid (2/5): Very poor -
- Rumenul (8/5): Very good - Check in via door codes, clean Shared bathrooms, no fan or ac
- Gianmarco (7/5): Good - Room and communal bathrooms are clean and well looked after. Clean linen and towels.
- Faith (9/5): It was worth staying with no disturbances - The environment The location
- Moulder (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (4/5): Weak - Easy access It was nothing like the picture, and so much smaller
- Shreerma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jakir (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Alexandra (4/5): Disappointing -
- Clara (6/5): Pleasant - A simple place, clean and with perfect location for an event in troxy. In the backyard we could see a shy fox.
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devonte (8/5): Very good -
- Subqatgeen (7/5): Good -
- Łukasz (7/5): Good -
- Javed (1/5): Bad - The images doesn't depicts the nature of room it was too small, and one can't even walk in the room.
- Sibanda (8/5): Had a pleasant stay - Lovely place Nothing
- Sofia (10/5): A clean, spacious BnB with great amenities in a safe, vibrant neighborhood. - I recently stayed at this BnB and, despite my initial anxiety from reading some reviews, my experience was exceptionally positive. The room we booked had a shared bathroom, but both bathrooms were impeccably clean throughout our stay.
Our room was spacious, easily accommodating two people with large suitcases, which made unpacking and organizing very convenient. We also appreciated the amenities, including a kitchen, flat iron, and washer/dryer, which made our stay even more comfortable.
We stayed for a few nights, and the communal spaces were cleaned every day, ensuring a pleasant environment throughout our visit. The BnB's location was another highlight—close to major tourist attractions and situated in a safe area. Even when we returned late, we felt completely safe, as the neighborhood is family-friendly.
Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend this BnB for its cleanliness, and price and location. It would be great to add trash bins in the bathrooms.
- Rachel (2/5): Cheap stay poor quality. - The stay was very cheap but that was reflected in the very poor property. First impressions weren’t great, pretty scary area to walk around late night as a woman. Horrible couch out front of the flat. First thing that hit me was a terrible smell of the place. Firstly strong smell of gas and then as we went upstairs a terrible smell in our bedroom of mold & something worse. Looks completely different to the photos so I was very shocked when I arrived. The bathroom really smelt badly too. Our room was extremely small with no storage only a bed and small desk/chair/bin.
- Mj (9/5): Superb -
- Thao (9/5): Superb - Everything about the room is good comparing the price. It is 12 min walk from the underground, so a bit inconvenient. However, traveling by bus to the accommodation is much easier.
- Angel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dre (8/5): Very good - My friend had booked a room with another place for one night only, but we wanted to stay another night and couldn't. That's when I came across this property location was less than 20mins from the city's main attractions. The room and baths were very much clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay whenever in London again we and our other friends would always choose to stay here
- Glen (9/5): Superb -

- Varun (8/5): Very good -
- Hazal (5/5): Passable - /
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristian (7/5): Perfect if you want to spend way less money compared to other solutions - - I would fix the entrance door, me and another guys was stucked for half an hour. Sometimes even if you put the right code it doesn't open the door
- The beds are really uncomfortable
- Loy (1/5): Bad -
- Anna (1/5): I wouldn't book again. - It was a terrible location, very unsafe area and had a very sketchy look to it. I would not recommend anyone to stay here as it is very far out from the city and it take about 1 hour to get into the city center. It was a very weird concept, the photos were not like the photos that were posted online. The outside of the building was very sketchy and the people as well that shared the common areas were not what I was expecting.
- Goswami (5/5): Tiniest Room! - Good location on a bus route to the centre (although it might be part of community housing?)
Bathroom was spanking clean and bed was comfortable
Host was quick to respond and communicative!
Mildly surprised, the hair dryer is a good addition hahaha The pictures are completely deceptive. This is not how the room actually is. It's much more shabby and it is the tiniest room I have ever stayed in. It ends before it begins and the whole room is literally just a bed. I just think, in that case, the property should be advertised and priced accordingly.
The bathroom was very clean, although shared, but I am not so certain about the bed linen. There were yellow spots, disgusting!
Our neighbours were blasting music, drinking and screaming after midnight. However I must appreciate that the owner was quick to respond when I complained and even sent someone over on their behalf to deal with the situation.
Overall it was a decent stay, but not great.
