Guest Reviews
- Mickey (8/5): Quiet and quirky , good location, - Quirky, beautiful view . Hot Tub Small bedrooms ,
- Helen (9/5): Fantastic for families who just want to chill. - The location and views are amazing. The property is as described and suits 2 families with 4 kids . It presented a "different" accommodation experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed and should have stayed longer to relax some more. Our host was very amicable and readily offered information and assistance. We thought the landscaping around the property was extraordinary.
- Jessica (8/5): It was a fantastic experience. Very clean and very will equipped. - It was quirky, unique. Nothing!
- Tsz Kiu Claire (6/5): instagrammable place, not for comfort - the hot tub and the scenary lack of cleanliness: many cupboards are dirty
lack of readiness: we paid to book the pizza oven and it was locked, dirty and no firewood was provided as per instructions on the booklet
lack of instructions of using the pizza oven, not beginners friendly
amenities were impractical
- Judy (9/5): Great property with beautiful view - Views, hot tub, outdoor wood fire
- Leanne (8/5): - The view was spectacular and we loved the fire until it rained. It only had one bathroom and was advertised as two on booking.com. There were four of us so always book a place with 2 bathrooms.
- Aquilina (9/5): - Location with great view. Exterior fire pit and hot tub. Property is quirky and fun. House is good for exterior entertaining. Double room a little small. Interior dining a little tight.
- Ian (10/5): - The outside kitchen and hot tub
The fantastic view
Very quiet

- David (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a great location a short drive from St Helen’s and Binalong Bay - Fantastic views and great setup with a really good outdoor area and Hot tub. We made use of the Pizza Oven which was a nice option.
- Brody (10/5): - Hot tub, bed and facilities were all excellent. The most unique fire pit I have ever seen
- Jules (10/5): -
- Amber (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - Perfect for a group Cut my foot getting out of bed in the middle of the night on glass that wasn’t ours.
- Bradley (8/5): -
- Jenny (9/5): -
- Jason (10/5): Highly recommended. - Awesome location, good cooking and family area and a great outdoor setup.
- elen (5/5): Overall, a stunning place visually, but several practical issues and lack of basic amenities made the stay frustrating a - The accommodation is undeniably beautiful, but unfortunately not practical or comfortable. A few basic hospitality essentials were missing, there were no pillows on the bunk beds, and no towels provided except for the main bedrooms. This is the bare minimum for guest comfort, so it was really surprising.
The layout also made our stay difficult. The heated area of the house has no dining table, which meant dining outdoors in cold Tasmanian weather, not ideal at all. The bunk bed area was freezing, and the toilet cubicles have no ceiling, so using the toilets felt awkward with no privacy.
The hot tub only works when pressing a black button for several seconds, which is not what was explained. Because of this confusion, we didn’t manage to enjoy it properly.
- Jacqui (9/5): Had so much fun, what a great location and great facilities. Thanks! - The hot tub, the view and the fire pit. And the location and bbq area were great. The openness of the bunk house area and the bunkhouse toilet.
- Chris (8/5): - Stunning views and nicely styled place
- Tim (10/5): -
- Lexi (9/5): Superb - Hot tub was great. Location was ideal. Good views! Perfect for a group of friends, ideally 6 pax, 2 bunk beds and 1 double. 2 toilets. Would be nice to indicate $40 would be charged for one night stay on the website. Pillows were too high for 1.6- 1.8m people. Beds were for 6pax but only 1 small shower room.
- Chantelle (9/5): Excellent few days away - We loved the fire and the hot tub. Nothing, everything was great.
- Christopher (10/5): Magnificent - Absolutely beautiful would highly recommend it will definitely stay here again. I did run into the owner and he was an absolute gentleman.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shellzii (10/5): Absolutely gorgeous views, with a focus on outdoor living experience - Really loved the overall experience of staying at Humbug Views, and we definitely wish that we had booked a longer stay here.
Love the focus on the the experience of staying in such a gorgeous location - the repurposing of items makes the experience really unique and incredibly interesting.
Having the wood loaded into in both the fire pit and the pizza oven, was a lovely touch. Everything you need for indoor/outdoor cooking is at hand, and seems thoughtfully executed.
Very thankful to have found such a thoughtfully put together home away from home! There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
Views are stunning, and the home is designed for you to focus on the beautiful location - if you are someone who prefers indoor living, this place may not be for you.
- Ann-maree (10/5): Totally relaxed in the hot tub, filled up on fabulous pizzas and loved every sunrise - The location is fantastic
