Guest Reviews
- David (9/5): Perfect for close friends/family wanting a quiet place to sleep that's still close to essentials. - Close to train station and shops such as Daiso (100円 goods), Paseos (value clothing, bedding, and accessories), and Belx (groceries). The Tobu transportation museum is one stop away (great for kids) with lots of good restaurants in the area, while Kita-Senju is a few stops in the other direction and has lots of the usual large town stores (DonKi, Seria, UniQlo, etc). Skytree Solamachi is only a few stops away, while travelling to places like Ikebukuro or Shinjuku will take about 45 minutes. The neighborhood is older and generally quieter, but the nearby nursery has the pleasant sound of children playing. The unit itself has a shower on both floors. The ground floor has a kitchen/dining room with immediate access to a shower and toilet, and the master bedroom has its own toilet and closet. The upstairs room has four beds and a shower with no closet space. Upstairs, master bedroom, and dining room all have their own heater/AC unit. There is sufficient bedding and towels (our group of 4 adults and 1 child) and all cleaning materials (vacuum, dish soap, laundry soap, etc.) were present. The stairs are steep, a little more so than typical Japanese homes, so the downstairs bedroom may be best for older or much younger people. Upstairs has no toilet, just a shower and sink. The bed frames are very creaky. Also, there was a bit of dust behind the beds, on the heater/AC, and on the curtain rods. Upstairs has no closet space or coat racks. The shower and main toilet entrance both share a space with the dining room, potentially awkward depending on who you stay with. There is no clothing dryer or hot water wash, but that's common for Japan. Use the drying rack and set the heater in to dry your clothes. Trash must be picked up by staff, so be sure to notify them before the outside bin is full! We found it best to remove packaging from products and disposing of it while still at the mall. Finally, the area can be hard to find and the streets are narrow-- it is directly behind/west of the Daiso/Paseos building, down a narrow path. Most vehicles won't be able to make it (my friend almost got his small SUV stuck in another street over), so it's best to have vehicles meet you in the Belx parking lot. Oh, and remember that Kanegafuchi is a small station, only the local lines stop there. If going to Haneda, it's best to catch the Keisei line from Hikifune-- there is a direct train that takes about an hour.
