Guest Reviews
- Anne (7/5): We had a fabulous weekend exploring Queenscliffe. Bee was wonderful and super helpful. - We received a $15 voucher each for one morning with a choice of 2 cafes. The location was central to everything and once we parked our car, we could walk everywhere. We ate at one and used the vouchers and then purchased 2 more $15 voucher for the other one. The coffee was fabulous at each location, but the food was bland and disappointing. The picture of the cottage is very deceiving. The picture is of the hosts cottage on the main street, which is super super cute. But when we got there, we had to go to the rear lane entrance and upon arriving, our first thoughts, we were very disappointed. Once inside, it was clean, cute and had everything we needed. Our host, Bee, met us on arrival and is such a friendly, lovely and was extremely attentive to all our needs. We did feel like it was not 5 star as advertised with reviews and felt it was overpriced.
- Lisa (10/5): Such a beautiful cottage - peace AND a visiting neighbourhood cat. Delightful! - The lovely hosts provided a delightful breakfast basket. Wonderfully yummy. Such a thoughtful touch.
- Sophie (10/5): A Gem! - Quaint, privacy, quiet and has everything you need, a short stroll to main road. Nothing
- Lynn (10/5): Such a Fabulous cottage - What a beautiful cottage, it had everything we needed and more for our stay. It’s in a great location with everything in walking distance.
The welcome pack was really appreciated. So glad we picked to stay here in Queenscliff and the hosts were lovely

- Sandra (10/5): We had a lovely few days at this delightful cottage. - Charming little cottage right in the heart of Queenscliff, easy to walk everywhere. Delightfully decorated little cottage and very cosy. The hosts were very friendly and easy to contact. Nothing
- Kylie (10/5): A relaxing long weekend away in a beautifully appointed cottage in the heart of Queenscliff. - We loved the location - a short walk into town - the thoughtful little touches and treats left for us in the home, the lovely garden and the fact that there was everything you could need in the cottage for a relaxing holiday. A very comfortable bed, a warming electric fireplace in the cosy lounge for those chilly nights, a kitchen to cook up a storm in and a light, airy dining room to eat in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks Matt and Bee for your wonderful hospitality! Nothing.
- Daphne (10/5): Delightful cottage in a great location - Spotlessly clean, Beautifully presented and provided everything you could possibly need
- LL (9/5): A lovely four night stay in beautiful Queenscliff. Lovely old cottage. - Our host Bee was very communicative. We had complete privacy but were confident that Bee was there to assist if we needed anything. The cottage was comfortable and very clean. Bed was great. Access was easy and we were in close walking distance of the park, the ferry, the heritage train station and places to eat. The first-night continental breakfast box was lovely, and the internet access was very easy and reliable. Would highly recommend.
- Kerry (10/5): A lovely little cottage with the comforts of home without taking away it's character - Great location. Within walking distance to cafes, suprmarket and the main shopping strip,it's also walking distance to some of the main attractions in the town. The cottage was clean with eveything you needed to make your stay comfortable. The little courtyard garden was lovely and well kept.

- Melinda (8/5): Felt comfortable, and welcome in a lovely cottage - well-located, close to township and sea - Beautiful cottage; location and breakfast both great; generous provision of tea, coffee, and snacks; good communication via SMS from hosts, who sounded genuinely welcoming and caring
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Alvin (8/5): lovely - Charming and quaint. It was close to everything. really liked the small backyard as it gets lovely sun in the morning and evening. We saw some local rainbow lorekeets the palm tree eating the flowers. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed was lovely. Really liked the breakfast box with lovely locally produced granola which was a nice touch. There were also some really nice croissants and pots of yogurt and teas to enjoy. There were also a few condiments for us to use such as locally sourced maple syrup which we used on our pancakes we made one morning. :) Back alley entrance wasn’t this nicest. There was also a bit of loud music from the pub but stopped early. The alley is also used by delivery trucks as well as the garbage truck which we heard early in the morning. It would have been nice to have a little bench to rest things on when cooking beside the oven. It would have been nice to have robes. Overall though it was a very nice experience and these are just things that can make the stay more enjoyable.
- Juliet (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely gorgeous cottage, so comfortable, welcoming and well equipped Nothing!

- Tina (10/5): a great relaxing place to stay. - great location near the centre of town, but still quiet and relaxing. the welcome breakfast basket was great highlighting local producers.
Bee was super helpful arranging an early check-in and a later checkout for us as well. This may not always be possible but they were really accommodating for us when they could be.
we could not fault anything here, we had a great relaxing break. we will definitely book again. I can't think of anything that we found as a negative.
- Peter (8/5): We enjoyed our stay at Benambra Cottage in Queensclif and would be happy to stay again. Thanks, Bee - Benambra Cottage was a lovely place to stay in Queenscliff. It is a renovated five room cottage tucked away down a quiet side lane. The keypad lock to open the front door makes things easy as no keys are required. The front door opens to a cute passageway that runs through the middle of the house. The good sized bedroom had a very comfortable bed with quality linen and a period wardrobe provided space to store and hang clothes. The lounge/TV room had a comfortable couch and a flat screen TV with access to streaming services. Free, good strength WiFi is included, as well. The guest book was informative and useful. There is also a separate, airy, period dining room. The kitchen looks lovely and is well equipped with all you could want and the supplied breakfast box of local goodies included KET Baker pastries, local mueslis and other nice treats. The fridge yielded sparkling mineral and still water, juice, milk and yoghurt. The bathroom/toilet opened off the kitchen and was nicely equipped with a modern shower, basin and toilet. A clothes washer and dryer are also neatly stacked here too. The bathroom is capped off by a lovely, large lead-light window. The whole cottage is decorated tastefully without feeling cluttered. All in all, Benambra Cottage is an easy place to meld into for a couple of days and is positioned so that is it easy to walk into the Hesse Street shops and restaurants. It is also very close to the old train station if the Q-train Restaurant or the Blues Train interest you, and is an easy stroll to the ferry port area and the Queenscliff Pier. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Bee & Matt. The cottage is a bit hard to find, first off, as it is round the back from the main Benambra Cottage Guest House street front on Hesse Street. Bee said a direction sign is coming soon, though. You can park your car in the laneway for a short period of time for drop-off or pickup of cases, etc. but you need to park your car out of sight round the corner in Symonds Street or Wharf Street, which might be an issue for some people. There is a lovely little porch and cottage garden out the back but you might need to make sure you bring some personal mossie spray if you intend to sit out there for any period of time. All not big issues, but worth noting.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (10/5): This was undoubtedly the best Booking stay were have had having used them in Australia and overseas. - Easy access to the property, instructions were perfect. The breakfast box that was left was a fantastic touch. Our two cocker spaniels had a blast - they definitely want to go back!
- Vicki (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (8/5): Very good -
- Mcleod (9/5): Beautiful, very Queenscliff cottage with lovely host - Location, styling, amenities, friendly and generous host Weather was terrible when we visited and the wind made the cottage rattle and hum all night. Front door didn’t shut tightly and so it rattled all night
- Brendan (10/5): Great weekend getaway! - Great location we were able to walk to everything, the accommodation was good the hosts Matt & Bee were great!
We loved the breakfast box and the fact the heaters were on and warm for our arrival.
- Darren (10/5): Luxury dog friendly B&B meets historic fisherman’s cottage - Great location in the heart of Queenscliff, great host on site, lovely breakfast provided and well stocked kitchen. Really nice and cosy. Comfy bed. Will definitely recommend to others and will be back 😁 Cottage is on a back lane with no parking but parking available on side streets and you can park in lane to load / unload.
- Karen (10/5): A lovely cottage in a convenient location. - Great location within an easy walk of main street, restaurants & the marina. Very cosy & well appointed cottage. Excellent communication with the owner prior to check in No parking on-site but this wasn't a problem. After off loading our luggage, there was plenty of free parking around the corner.
- Richard (10/5): Cosy, comfy and cute. A great place to stay for a few days away. - What a special little place in a terrific seaside town! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and our dogs loved it too. Bee was very hospitable.
- John (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay in this little cottage and we will be going back in the future. - Such a cute little cottage and spotlessly clean. Slept really well in the comfortable queen bed but did not use the sofa bed. Very grateful to find some breakfast goodies waiting for us on arrival - granola, pastries, fruit, yogurt and milk. The kitchen is excellently equiped too.
- Fiona (9/5): Wonderful, all that we wished for - The property interior was beautiful in design, it was clean and so comfortable, the bed was super comfy, the bathroom new and clean, all amenities were supplied and there were welcome treats and breakfast supplies which was great, we stayed to enjoy The Blues Train, the location of the accommodation was excellent, we also caught the ferry it was in close proximity. Some nice plants at the entrance would make it that extra impressive
- Ims (10/5): Delightful stay in Queenscliff - Benambra Cottage is in a great location, an easy walk from everything Queenscliff offers a tourist. It is fully self contained and great for two people. There is nothing to write in this section.
