Guest Reviews
- Sharyn (8/5): - Loved the location 2 blocks away from light rail Darling Harbour and shopping. The lift in the building under repair sometimes up to 15 min waiting on lift
- Kanthaiah Kanthavanam (7/5): Short - Every items TV channels not available.
- Robert T (7/5): Very good location. The fact that the lifts weren't working until 22:00 was a spoiler. - The shower is over a spa bath with no support handles to assist in entering or leaving. Not suitable for people with mobility issues.
- Keryn (9/5): Spacious and comfortable unit in a good location being about a 7min walk to QVB light rail. - Spacious unit. Host provided a clothes-airing rack and a coat/hat stand which were both very useful. The separate bedroom was handy if one of us needed to be up through the night. The TV showed only channel 9 channels but didn't actually receive any channels. Perhaps inner city locations have that problem with buildings blocking signals. (?)
- Smith (5/5): The owner and Air Cabin were unable to sort out the internet/TV but expected us to waste our time. - location was good Support non existent. We did not know we needed 12 pages of instructions to gain entry. We did not know we had to get on our knees on a filthy footpath outside the building to access the lockbox. We had 16 phone calls and messages consuming many hours of OUR holiday over 4 days trying to get the internet/TV to work. It still doesn't. There is only one bedside table. The fridge only melts ice or freezes everything in the fridge. No en-suite from the bedroom you have to go through the lounge, then kitchen, then laundry, to reach the toilet. The light over one side of the bed didn't work and was cunningly placed to hit you on the head as you got in and out of bed.

- Colin (9/5): Enjoyable - Great location
- bernita (8/5): -
- Helen (4/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): Comfortable and clean - How close it was to everything Could of had some safety bars in the bathroom help to get out of bath from shower
- Sandra (4/5): Neglectful and dirty - The location, the facilities, the area of the apartment During my stay, I found it completely unacceptable that I was expected to give up part of my holiday to accommodate a handyman coming to fix the bathroom lighting. Being asked to leave the key in the mailbox and arrange access during a holiday defeats the purpose of a relaxing stay. Maintenance should be handled before a guest arrives or by the host directly, not by paying guests.
Despite following instructions and leaving the key in the mailbox, the repair was never carried out for the entire six-night booking. As a result, I had no light in the bathroom and therefore no ventilation when the shower curtain didn’t cover the whole bath. This created a serious slipping hazard, especially with a high standing bath with no handrails and tiled flooring. After long days walking — including a Blue Mountains trek — safe bathroom access was essential, and the setup felt like a hospital visit waiting to happen.
The general condition of the apartment was also poor. Kitchen cabinets were broken, bedroom lighting was inadequate with a lamp that didn’t work, curtains were broken and dirty, the carpets were unclean, and there was even a pile of rubbish behind the couch showing it hadn’t been vacuumed properly. On top of this, the antenna was broken, there was mould in the bath plug, black marks on the bathroom mirror, and at one point the front door lock jammed, leaving me locked out for an hour. Overall, the apartment felt neglected and below the standard expected for a holiday rental.
What I found most concerning was receiving a message from AirCabin asking me to provide feedback to them privately before posting a public review, and before they left one of me. This felt manipulative, as if they intended to badmouth me as a guest to cover up the serious maintenance and cleanliness issues. Honest feedback should never be met with pressure or the threat of retaliation.
- Jan (2/5): Only the location is great. - Great location near all the important sights in CBD.
Aircabin staff speedy and helpful - Windows in bedroom don’t close fully anymore. Makes it cold and loud.
- Mattress is saggy and worn out.
- Generally, very high level of wear and tear.
- Water temperature in shower fluctuates by itself.
- Mold under wash basin
- Small insects in bathroom
- Towels ripped
- Bathroom darkish even with lights on.
- Dirty pot in cupboard
- We were asked for a 5star rating. While I understand the idea, I consider it inappropriate to ask for 5 stars in an apartment with numerous obvious faults.
- Jinny (8/5): great location - location is superb. near townhall station. QVB and everything is only 3 mins walk cannot leave the luggage after check out.
- John (8/5): Good value, in a good location 👍 - Great location … good size Light hanging too low, above Left side of the bed
Needs a new shower curtain… water gets on floor
TV not working
Very hard to find lockbox in the dark !!!
- James (8/5): Good location, nice and comfortable. Will use again. -
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation was spotless and in a brilliant location. The hosts were very responsive to messages and extremely helpful.
- Daniel (10/5): Perfectly Located Apartment - The apartment had everything we needed, was clean and very comfortable.
Fantastic location.
Extremely accomodating owners.
I will definitely stay there again, when back in Sydney.
- Alison (7/5): Good - The location was great, a few minutes from the centre of the CBD, and a few minutes from Darling Harbour. Room was good and included everything you need for a week or 2. Quite sparsely furnished and lacking in character, but perfectly functional. Finding and collecting the keys was tricky. The receptionist of the building was not helpful at all, not even wanting me to leave my bag in the lobby while I went to find the key.
- David (5/5): Good location - Picking up the key from a lock box outside of the building
- Rob (6/5): average - location no TV aerial
could not use the oven as it smoked
- Catherine (10/5): It’s so close to everything - shopping, restaurants, tourist attractions. We walked everywhere. I’d stay here again. Tha - Location
- Bernadette (6/5): We loved this location and would stay again, but to avoid hassles, will book with Mantra itself. - We loved the location. It was ideal for us. However, it was noisy and it is only when we are now home and quiet, we realise how noisy. Lots of bar arguments around 2am and sirens every night, at all hours.
And the space in the apartment was great: so much better than a single hotel bedroom. Problems arose when we arrived. We did not realise until then that the apartment was an Air B & B, let privately, within a Mantra Hotel complex that is also letting similar apartments. Key is stored in a cup canister padlocked to a grubby grate out on the street. Mantra folk are not best please about this private letting so Receptionists will not allow Luggage to be left if you have a late flight (which we always do, to our rural destination). Nor is it easy to get early access to the apartment. The location is quite hilly, so far from ideal for Seniors trundling luggage around attempting to find where to leave it for a spell. Shower is sited over a spa bath: high and also not ideal for Seniors, attempting to get in and out. Falls are likely without grab bars. There is limited furniture: no drawers or shelves anywhere to unpack into. We needed to leave our stuff in our case on the floor in the wardrobe, which is also not great for Seniors. No bedside table for charging phones, etc, or storing night things either. Great for young folk, though.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - great location. Lovely apartment. Very clean and all the required facilities. n/a
- Martin (8/5): Great location, good amenities - Location was perfect and having my own space was perfect. I'd definitely stay again. There were too many emails from the host.
- Maria (10/5): Wonderful Weekend - The location was fantastic! The room was big enough for a couple to have space and privacy. We felt well looked after.
