Guest Reviews
- Jackie (8/5): - good location comfortable cottage with wood fire plenty of entertainment options available good hot water service for shower lovely garden area 2 good size bedrooms comfortable beds
- Linda (10/5): -
- Gunther (1/5): Dissapointing, this issue could have been easily solved with a bit of effort & attention. - Dirty sheets. When we pulled back the bed cover it became blatantly clear by the condition, that the sheets had not been changed & there had been strenuous night time activity, Not even an attempt to smooth out the bottom sheet, top cover thrown over, next guests will slip into bed & not notice. Not acceptable.
Our welcome message from the owners stated any issues call our house keeper 'R....', the cottage guest book said '....we want to make you stay comfortable......, phone area manger 'R....' night or day should you require anything.....'
My partner immediately texted 'R....' with photos, asking where are clean sheets. Considering it was just after 9pm, it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect a reply. No reply.
We forced into the unpleasant situation of having to sleep in a bed with the strong smell of the previous guests' body odour.
No clean sheets delivered next morning as would be the expectation, nor a reply from 'R...' No reply by midday, no reply by mid afternoon, so my partner resent the text & photos. 'R...' did respond but we were at an event & a phone call was inappropriate, she texted saying 'sorry to hear that...', no mention of clean sheets. I texted back saying I would call next morning, can't talk now. Next morning I got through to her voice mail, asked 'R...' to call me back. No call back all day. Next morning I called again, 'R...' responded 'what can I do for you?' Me, 'did you not receive my text & photos, twice, did you think it was not important enough to reply!!!? 'R...' replied 'I was at work, this is not the only job I have, they don't like me being on the phone...' After being reminded of her managerial responsibilities, she did apologise, several times. 'R...' did say she would have dropped off clean sheets but she doesn't live in town. Unacceptable excuse.

- Peter (9/5): Very comfortable and memorable, we loved every minute there - Very quaint, beautifully peaceful, wonderful ambience. Very well equipped with amazing early history antiques. One minor maintenance issue, the bathroom fan didn’t work. We were keen to know the history of the cottage itself but there was no records of who built and lived in it. Not a fault, just a curiosity thing.
