The booking process itself was already complicated, and when I arrived, I tried to reach the host for more than an hour, but unfortunately, they did not answer the phone even once. At the location, even the neighbors tried to help and called the host, but they were also unsuccessful. At one point, a completely unknown person opened the door, and no one could explain who they were, which further increased the uncertainty and discomfort. It is important to mention that Booking.com only sent me an entry code after all this had happened, but until that moment, I had received no code, no information, and no instructions about how to access the property. After so many confusing and unsafe situations, I did not feel safe, so I had to leave the location. The room and the overall conditions did not meet my expectations, and due to the situation, I was unable to use the accommodation. I would also like to highlight that the same room continued to appear as available on Booking.com, even though my booking should have been active. This raised additional concerns about the reliability of the listing. I kindly request the immediate investigation of this case and the full refund of my reservation, as I could not use the service and was placed in an unsafe and uncomfortable situation throughout. • Robert (9/5): Restful place with a great 55" Smart TV n free Netflix 😄 - The double bed was just as comfortable as my home bed, quick replies from owners when I messaged 👍 quiet for sleeping during the day, which was my purpose for renting a basement suite. I have stayed twice now and would return again. Motion sensor lights worked perfect at suite private entrance..

• Barbara (6/5): Clean 1 bedroom apt. - Comfortable bed (I like a firm mattress). Very helpful host - answered calls promptly. The strong perfume in the apartment bothered me. I have allergies & use scent free soaps & detergents. The scent was so strong it made it hard to get to sleep. There are 6 steps going down into the apartment. I couldn't figure out how to work the TV. An instruction sheet would be helpful.

• Joanne (3/5): not worth the savings and most uncomfortable night I've had almost ever - price was reasonable and layout of the unit was good -busy road to pull in and out of driveway and crowded trying to fit 3 vehicles across it (as per Instructions) -little daylight in unit being underground/basement -NO SHEETS ON BED (never noted in description you needed your own) -INSUFFICIENT HEAT!! (owner said "22-24" degrees set for house BUT didn't reach basement esp. in frigid weather) -marginal housekeeping done (FOR A FEE)...debris/hairs on floor and even old orange peel under bed; spills in fridge; etc. -very dated furniture, unit crowded by furniture used, uncomfortable couch and dirty grout in bathroom -Owner did NOT respond when I requested partial refund. I was so cold I couldn't sleep and even caught a cold staying there
• Amanda (9/5): Superb - Very nice little apartment, clean, quiet and MUCH more than I was expecting for the price. Loved the ability to stream on multiple different sources (Netflix, prime, etc.) Host was friendly and helpful (accidentally locked myself out but had no trouble reaching the host who unlocked it remotely) I would definitely stay here again and hope to do so in the near future! The bedroom was a little chilly and unfortunately there was only one blanket/duvet. Bed was also without a flat sheet which I thought was unusual. Coffee is provided, however there is no sugar or whitener/creamer etc. Minor inconveniences that the host may provide upon request, but I didn't ask as I was only staying one night.

• Eoghan (3/5): Nightmare Check-in Experience - The positives were that it is one of the cheapest accomodations available in Hamilton and it is not far from a bus route leading up from Munro Airport. I could also see that if you are a local or if you had the time/inclination to get a Canadian sim card, this place might have been a good option to stay at. However, if you do not have a phone or a working one, you will have an appalling check-in experience, and even with one, the check-in experience is still pretty sub-standard/inconvenient. I am an American who spends most of the year in Lithuania, such that I only have a European sim that does not work outside of Europe. Having spent some 20 hours in travel, flights, and layovers, I was in no mood to go dig up a Canadian sim somewhere once I arrived just to use it for the one day I would be in Canada. So with the infrequent WiFi I had and my final message before leaving Munro, I was led to believe that someone was going to meet me there and show me how to get in. Nope - house was dark and no one in evidence beyond the car in the drive. I spent ten minutes wandering around the perimeter, ringing all the doorbells and getting increasingly annoyed since there I was with no phone, no way to contact the owner, until finally the owner literally rolls out of bed by all appearances to help me get in, also looking just as annoyed in spite someone saying they would meet me. After that, once finally in the apartment from the undecorous greeting, I tried to connect to the WiFi using the indicated password inside - only to find the password was wrong after trying so many different reasonable variations of it. The owner said if I need anything, "just text" - though that obviously can't happen with no working phone and I wasn't going to go back up and bother them again after the unfriendly welcome. So I got to sit there all night with no internet, and in the morning I had to wander out to a restaurant a mile away I knew offered free WiFi so that I could let my brother know I am alive and coordinate pick up. It was only hours after I left that the mix-up became clear - they had sent me a message at the eleventh hour, after I was already on my way down on the bus, with the door code and the WiFi password (which had a random capital letter in the middle not shown on the poster). All that could have been avoided if they sent me this information hours in advance the day of, like every other apartment I have stayed at; or otherwise not told me someone was going to let me in when they were really going to be sleeping, they would message me the access info instead, etc.

The pullout couch wasn’t comfortable at all. Idk how well they cleaned it in terms of vacuuming, we kept finding garbage on the floor.
• William (9/5): A convenient and comfortable place to stay when in Hamilton. - Location was nice and surrounding neighbourhood quite nice. Large and nicely maintained lower level suite.
• Christian (2/5): Don't go there. - There was a water bottle for me when I arrived. Free parking. Private entrance. It is a pretty old house that's been partially renovated. Netflix included. The owner was pretty quick for answering inquiries, but refused to give me even a partial refund. First of all, I did not choose anything. The "ad" says "choose one of two". I got a basement unit, which was not specified in the ad. Noisy sump pump (or whatever was going on and off) in the bathroom. There was fecies in the toilet when I got there. Someone had flushed, but there were "leftovers". Which also means that the toilet was not clean/sanitized before I got there. While looking for utensils, I found a broken piece of a glass pipe (it looked like one used for drugs). Lastly, the bedding. There was only a fitted sheet and the quilt on the bed. No sheet and no cover on the quilt. It felt like I was sleeping in someone else's used bed. I don't know, but I am pretty sure the quilt is not washed everytime a guest leaves. I brought these issues up with the owner. He apologised and offered a rebate for my next stay. Which is never going to happen, obviously. I was hoping for a refund, at least a partial one, but I never got an answer.

• Eric (8/5): Okay for a place to rest at night! - - convenient location off the highway - Alexa was a nice touch for playing music - bed and couch, first impression seemed clean - cheaper than nearby options at the time of booking - a bit dangerous backing out onto a busy street - can sometimes hear others in the house - some reno (shower/washroom) seemed to be rushed and so those areas didn’t look clean - shower curtain had mildew / mold
