Guest Reviews
- Phil & Mel (8/5): If you'd like a safe comfortable place to stay, this is for you - Jawad was so lovely and communication with him was great! The room was everything we needed - we really just needed a place to stay to catch the Eurostar early the next day. We slept well and were up at 5am and out the door. Although the flat was shared with Jawad we felt extremely comfortable and safe. The price was also unbeatable for the location. We personally found everything more than fine, but everyone has different standards. For those complaining about the property because you're looking for a hotel experience, a guest room probably isn't for you as you are staying in someone else's lived in home. Our stay was great, Jawad is a very kind host, and we would definitely stay again.
- Mark (10/5): - Great location near food shops tube stations and events in Camden

- Matilda (9/5): - The host is very kind and accommodating. Comfy bed and a great location.
- Daniel (3/5): Not recommended if you have more budget to spend - Location is the only good thing about this property Laminate flooring of the room is totally destroyed and it’s really dark. Also blinds are broken and you can’t use them as well. There are so many stuffs in the common areas so you feel stuck walking around.
- Ivana (10/5): -
- Carlos (10/5): -
- Alex (8/5): - Decent space for Camden, flexible check in which I appreciated. Good TV and bed. Great location. I love a coffee in the morning before I leave - would be exceptional if there was a few coffee sachets and milk and sugar included...
- Rosanne (1/5): TERRIBLE. AVOID. - AVOID AT ALL COST!!! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. WENT HERE AND FELT LIKE I WAS IN A HORROR MOVIE!! We ran right out! Had to pay more on a hotel!!
- kaveen (6/5): Una buona soluzione per un breve soggiorno a Londra considerando il costo e la posizione -

- Vincent (1/5): Unless you like staying in a Slum, don't book here. - Nothing. It was not what I expected. I have never stayed anywhere quite like this. I don't think it is fit for purpose, the host was fine in welcoming us and giving us the key. However his clothes were in the wardrobe and in the drawers of the side cabinet next to the bed. It was not clean in the bathroom, dirty sink and tiles. In the bedroom the flooring was a trip hazard as it was ripped in several places, the paint was peeling of the door in the room that we stayed in. It seemed like we were staying in the guys room and when he doesn't have a customer staying he would sleep in there, that's how it seemed to me anyway. It was also much further from the station than it stated on the booking site so false information. It wasn't expensive but I have stayed in other places for a little more money and had a whole apartment and several beds so I don't think this should be on booking.com full stop.

- sandra (3/5): - Nulla Pulizia inesistente, camera con tutti gli indumenti del proprietario, terzo letto (una branda) scomodissima. Bagno orrendo, foto non veritiere.
- Mcgorrin (10/5): Lovely well valued accommodation - Lovely host who was friendly, clear on where things were, house rules and was understanding and accommodating. Had a very decently sized room with free parking outside on weekends and didn't mind us coming in a little later from a gig, so long as we were respectful and quiet. Plenty of room, clean facilities and warm place, considering it was January. Lovely quiet location and easy access to transport, not far from central places.
The cost was extremely good value, would 100% stay here again. Nothing.
- Devon (9/5): Quick and easy! - Clean, tidy, easy to find. n/a
- Montero Hernandez (6/5): - El señor es muy simpático, llegamos tarde y nos esperó más allá de la hora establecida de llegada.
- Erika (1/5): -
- Aian Cris (1/5): NEVER AGAIN! - location - smelly
- bed/pillow sheets are not fresh, they are used. . and we can literrally smell it. .
- place is dusty
- clutter everywhere especially in the entrance/alley
- Constante (6/5): - Me gustó que la cama era grande La calefacción estaba muy fuerte, color a humedad, la cocina daba asco, y la ducha no tenía mampara por lo que al ducharte se mojaba todo
- Mohamed Mufassal (1/5): Misleading listing, poor hygiene, safety concerns, and an extremely uncomfortable and stressful experience. - Honestly, there was nothing positive about this stay. This was the worst stay I have ever experienced. The property was essentially an Airbnb-style shared house, which was not clearly mentioned in the listing. The single bed was extremely poor and uncomfortable. The closet was unusable as it was completely filled with the host’s clothes, and even the space under the bed was full of clothes. There was a strong, unpleasant smell throughout the house.
The host kept pets in the house, which was not disclosed in advance. We are allergic to pets and developed rashes on our bodies the next day. This was a serious health issue.
The host was extremely restrictive and unprofessional. He repeatedly messaged us insisting we check in before 11:30 pm because he wanted to sleep. After check-in, he kept texting us to keep the noise “very, very low” — we were not even able to speak normally or use our phones comfortably inside the room.
The door lock was broken and very difficult to open, which made us feel unsafe. There was zero sense of security, and we were constantly anxious and unable to rest properly during our stay.

- Ahmed (1/5): - Nulla Tutto
- Adéla (8/5): - I liked the location and sourroundings, close to the tube and city center. Very kind host. There is a nice cat outside the room. Bed is really comfy. Little too hot in a room and could be a little cleaner, but we enjoyed our stay anyway :)
- Valencia caba (1/5): -
- Ana Isabel (1/5): Incómodo - La predisposición del propietario a la hora del check in y su amabilidad Estaba sucio, donde duermes hay ropa de el
- Camacho Añez (7/5): - Cordial treatment ,rest well , but you need to put a handle on your door.
- David (10/5): -

Total fire haszard. To dangerous and unclean to stay in, I had to go to a hotel. Extremely upset by this experience. - Msc (7/5): Decent - Amazing location and big spacious room. Great value for money! Could have been a bit more clean
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (9/5): Value is definitely wholesome once you have a great conversation and chat with the host - The room was amazing host was exceptional Leaving
- Guy (7/5): Good -
- Gilles (6/5): Pleasant - not expensive. it is what it is.
- Darren (8/5): 33a not 33! - The location was only a 10 -15 minute walk to the tube. Very quiet location as well. It was too hot when I got to my room. The headline for property should not be 33 Camden square, It should be 33a!
- Craig (8/5): Great room great host. - Jawaad was a great host, super friendly,a genuine nice guy, look him up,the room was perfect exactly what I needed.
- Tom (9/5): Host was very lovely, accommodating and easygoing. Facilities were great for the price and would recommend as a quick st - Felt like staying at a friend’s place. Was very relaxed and facilities were spacious, clean and comfortable. Host was very accommodating, friendly and flexible of my timings and communicated well which was nice. There was an issue with the front door mechanism to get out. I don’t recall a note about the property having pets inside. This might be a concern for anyone with pet allergies.
- Robert (10/5): A lovely day, great host, very comfortable. - It’s a perfect location, a very kind and helpful host Jamal. Nothing it’s excellent.
- Karlene (1/5): Bad -
- Mark (1/5): Horrendous - The room was clean but it was a helth and after night mare you had to exit with a pair of pliers and the garden veiw was a load of weeds in a basement
I didn't get much sleep as the street lights came through the broken blinds on the window no curtains
- Rod (4/5): Jawaad, the owner seems a nice, affable guy, so loathe to list shortcomings, and its cheap for area. - The owner was friendly and welcoming. The price is economic, but there are a number of things I hadn't expected. I hadn't expected:
-Need to use pliers to open front door (was mentioned in a review several months back, that I didn't see before)
-Broken blinds in bedroom, held together by sellotape (again, was commented sometime ago) meant that slats could not be closed, letting light in from outside.
-A single duvet was spread across the double bed
-No towels left (although there was a basket for towels to be cleaned)
-Bedroom door lock was a metal pin into loop, so only lockable when in, and not when I went out.
-Damp on bedroom wall, and when returned found hallway had standing heater on max. Presume damp here too(it is a basement flat).
Minor gripes:
-No instructions for Coffee pod machine, and it leaked. Maybe my fault, but I've not used one before.
-Get the impression the bedroom is normally the owner's room, as bedside drawers contained clothes and things. Wardrobe contained other clothes, though there is a separate clothes rail for use. Maybe not a problem, but didn't expect.
-I don't mind cats, but Jawaad mentioned his cat when I arrived. A bit late if I did have objections.
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrei (2/5): Very poor - Mattress was smaller than the bed frame but confy I used my own bed sheets pillow and duvet
Had my own towel There was a bad smell in the property I can’t figure out what from
The kitchen was in horrible condition toilet seat was broken shower glass in the bathroom was broken and I was thinking will break and cut myself it had two hinges of which the bottom one was broken and if u touch it could fall
Bedroom window did have some ruined blinds
Don’t use drawers or wardrobe
To go out of the flat need to use a pliers .the host said they are waiting for locksmith but from the look of the whatever was left from the handle look like was like that for ages
Good thing he had 2 cats for protection against small creatures
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional - Landlord very accommodating, friendly, could come and go at leisure, great value compared to what is offered in London, would have no hesitation in staying there again Everything was good
- Jessica (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Everything the front door had no handle and the bedroom had no lock the house smelled foul and I was extremely uncomfortable as a female solo traveler I didn’t end up staying at the property because of how unsafe it was
- Kudakwashe (3/5): Not the best. Whole place needs a scrub. - Great location Bathroom and toilet could benefit from a clean, bedsheets with stains, unable to close blinds.
Owner barged into room at 7am whilst still occupied. Owner is nice just unprofessional.
- Clare (3/5): Poor - No coffee or tea facilities was stated in the advert on booking.com single duvet on a double bed blinds broken so couldn't shut them, no proper locks on door to bedroom or bathroom literally a hook TV didn't work overall a bad stay
- Luke (7/5): Good -
- Simon (5/5): Don’t expect too much. It’s a place to get your head down in someone else’s house - It’s a room to get your ged down No door handle when leaving. Had to use pliers to get out. Very strange
- Owusu (8/5): Awesome place to stay - I loved my stay would highly recommend comfortable bed
- Esther (5/5): Satisfactory - Host was very attentive and kind. Location brilliant and very quiet. I was travelling alone and did not feel unsafe here. Place could do with a few repairs and some cleaning up.
- Marita (5/5): I liked check-in 2h earlier & check out at 1pm, the host was kind person, good location - some technical disadvanteges
- Ferry (3/5): Poor - The location of the place was pretty good, in a nice quiet neighbourhood and about 10/15 minutes walk from camden market, and the camden town metro station. When we came, the host was dressed in all dirty clothes, which was a bad sign for what was to come.
The room in general looked quite good at first, but all the cabinets were full of clothes and very messy.
There weren't any towels arranged, so we had to ask. Then we got 2 small towels, one of which was very old and full of stains.
The blinders in the bedroom could barely close and on the sided were even covering the full window.
The room couldn't be locked from the outside, so we didn't feel comfortable leaving our valuables there.
In the bathroom there was quite some lime scale which made it look quite dirty and a very old dirty mop.
The toilet had a broken seat which kept sliding off the pot and the lid falling to your back.
There was also a cat in the house, which should be mentioned in case of allergies, which just entered our room through the window (which we had to open because of the humidity and smells)
The kitchen was also very messy and dirty.
The front door had to be opened with a wrench because the handle was broken.
- Renate (9/5): Would love to return should I be in the area again! - very nice part of town, very quiet, beautiful houses. Jawaad was very quick in responding by text messages and made it possible for me to arrive earlier. He suggested a really nice cafe for me to wait in until he got back from work. Very kind person.
- Farrell (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (8/5): Functional accommodation - It served it's purpose perfectly for the time needed.
Good location within walking distance to several underground stops.
It was clean and Jawaad was very accommodating. Nothing to report.
- Jacqueline (1/5): Bad - Nothing The room was filthy, sheets were not changed, no locks on any doors, inc bedroom. Blinds broken so people could see into the room. The room is the hosts bedroom! Not a guest room. AVOID IF TRAVELLING ALONE.
- Steven (8/5): Very good - A very warm welcome. And good size room. Very comfortable
- Yousif (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paresha (10/5): Comfortable and stress free - The room interior was amazing and it was really spacious and comfortable.
- Mike (6/5): You get what you pay for. - The owner was friendly and communicative, welcoming us on arrival and showing us around. The room was relatively clean and came with bottled water, coffee machine, and clothes rail as well as TV, air humidifier and heating fan. This is a flat where the owner rents a room, as such it has shared toilet and bathroom facilities. This is fine except there's no lock on any of the doors so I felt in edge any time I used the toilet. The owner also has a cat, which I was fine with but could cause issues for anyone who has allergies. The bed was ok but, it was a double with only a single duvet on it. The blind was broken so allowed sunlight in in the morning and the room had a damp smell about it. This place is fine for the price and was in an ideal location for me. It just needs a little work and it would be a good room to stay in.
- Rebecca (4/5): Disturbed. - Location was lovely, its a beautiful property in its entirety This isn’t a suitable property for a single female traveller. I really don’t like to give a negative review, as the owner was polite and friendly, but I didn’t feel safe, given that I don’t know the people there personally. The lack of locks on the bedroom, bathroom and toilet was unsettling. The owner told me no one else was there but there definitely was another person there overnight.
The blinds on the windows were missing in places, so it was possible to see into the room from outside.
The room was not completely clean, there were clothes in the wardrobe, and the towel smelt used.
- Christopher (10/5): Great room, Brilliant value for money and ideal location for going out in Camden/surrounding areas - The location was absolutely ideal and not far from the Murray Street bus stop which made going to/from Camden a breeze, the walking distance wasn't bad either, the host was wonderful and very attentive, everything about the place was wonderful
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Abdulaziz (10/5): Exceptional -
- S (2/5): Smells of cats. Should have read the reviews before booking. - Whole place smelt of cats. Could not lock bedroom, toilet or bathroom doors. Broken light in toilet, note on door to use phone torch! Cupboard and drawers in room full of owners clothes and underwear. Single bed duvet on double bed.
Wife couldn't wait to leave in the morning.
- Jeremy (2/5): Creepy stay - Leaving!!! Toilet seat was broken. Light in toilet nit working, sign on door said use your phone light.
Did not want to use the shower due to mould & a jug with mould on the side of the bath. Sink area around the taps was wet jntil I dried it before use.
No lock on the bedroom door.
No mention of a cat in the property prior to booking.
Mattress did not fit the bed. Whole experience was a little weird.
- Abdulaziz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Twist (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my girlfriend stayed at this property from the 21st to the 25th and have nothing but good things to say about our stay! The room and house was very clean and cosy, in a brilliant location. Thank you to Jaweed for our stay and I recommend to anyone to book here when in London! Also his cats are adorable! Nothing
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (1/5): How could this be accepted on booking.com - Close to Camden markets Very bad smoking smell. Animals in the house. Disgusting toilet. Did not even take a shower just to avoid using towels and bathroom. Mattress really uncomfortable, even smaller than the bed frame. Bedding sheet so short that you could cover either feet or upper body. No beautiful view, just the bins as it is kind of a basement.
- Lisette (8/5): Friendly and quiet! - Jawaad is a very friendly host and made me feel most welcome.
The location is great. Opposite a park and very quiet.
- Joanna (10/5): Comfortable place, close to the heart of Camden Town - The location is very nice, walking distance to Camden party center, also it’s very quite for sleep, the bed is comfortable. We stay only one nights, everything was fine.
- Gill (8/5): A tranquil place overlooking the garden and park. Great location. Thank you. - The location is ideal, very tranquil with views across the garden and the park opposite. Very quiet. Most welcome to find such a tranquil place. Helpful host. Thank you I do not have any complaints.
- Robert (8/5): Perfect for my needs! - Large room and welcoming host. Nothing!
- Aaliyah (9/5): Comfortable, quiet and relaxing! - I liked that it was in more of a quieter area. It meant I could sleep easier without having to worry about the insane traffic in London. The property itself was well kept and felt more like a house share, like you’re staying with a friend, rather than a hotel. The room was comfortable, warm and well lit whilst the window itself meant you could see outside but people couldn’t really see you so you don’t have to worry about people. Nothing! My standards were met and I was happy with my stay!
- Diane (1/5): Bad -
- Roger (3/5): Poor -
- John (1/5): Absolutely discussing... - Address incorrect flat A basement apartment1 bedroom, ,shared bathroom and toilet not clean flat smells of food and of cats and urine no lock on door did not stay over night and found alternative accommodation...not as described on booking .com
- Gavin (6/5): London Camden Square - The location was really good nice and quiet The fact of not having a key to let my self in if I fancied going out.
- Piotr (1/5): Never again !! - Close to Kentish O2 arena Smell, dirt, spider webs, smell, dirty toilets.
- Munem (5/5): Passable - did nit even get a house key but it was fine still.
- Tinashe (5/5): Not so pleasant - Location is fine. I did not have breakfast It was not clean. Maybe it rarely get visitors
- Anonymous (1/5): Never again - Nothing Everything was dirty. When we entered the place, There was his cat’s food everywhere on the ground. Same for his cat’s litter. We had to take off our shoes. Then we entered our room. The sheets on the bed were dirty with white spots on the pillow and his cat’s hair everywhere. We looked into the wardrobe which was full of his clothes. Then in the bedside table we found his old and dirty underwears. On addition to all of that, There was no key for the room so the guy could enter the room whenever he wanted.
If we wanted to go out and come back we needed to call him to ask him to open the door for us.
We didn’t even look at the bathroom or at the kitchen and decided to go somewhere else to sleep.
- Peret (5/5): Passable - Owner is a nice guy and the room was okay. He has two lovely cats. The bathroom was hideous. The floor was orange-brown instead of original white colour. The sink was awful as well but it got cleaned after the first day. I didn’t get a key to the apartment or to the room. Sometimes we had to wait couple minutes until the owner came back so we could enter the room. The wardrobe in the room was filled with owner’s items and we had to keep our clothes in the suitcase.
- Cherise (8/5): Very good -
