Guest Reviews
- Julie (10/5): Very charming in A nice location. - Very cute English pub boutique lodging. Many special details and simple but charming decor. Great location close to Hampstead Heath for beautiful walks, picnics and views. The only drawback is if you have heavy or excessive luggage the stairs may be difficult. The staff helped with luggage so that was a kind plus.
As the description says, there is no staff on site throughout the night and no breakfast offered, but coffee shops are nearby and that was not a drawback for me at all.

- Chris (10/5): This is the perfect getaway in London. - Everything is amazing and beautiful. The food is delicious!
- Catherine (8/5): - La literie, le calme, la qualité des équipements, l'hospitalité et les cookies ! La chambre était vraiment petite
- Henry (8/5): - Friendly staff and good sized room Would have been god to have a bath.
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Ami (8/5): Hotel was perfect for our stay whilst visiting the o2 forum. The staff were very friendly, rooms had everything we neede - We loved that it was within walking distance to the o2 forum which is why we were there! Room was beautiful & had everything we needed. Lots of steep steps to the bedroom. The bathroom was beautifully decorated but had a clear - very see through window with a busy road below & (I think) a school opposite. The shutters were tricky to open & close past the sink that was close to it. The handle for it also kept falling off. It would’ve been better for the window to have been frosted! 1 of our pillows had dirty marks.

- Jessica (9/5): A lovely and looked after few days by the Heath. - They decor was beautiful. The service was great and it was in a brilliant location close the eateries and Hampstead Heath. All the special touches were lovely and the food was delicious too. The only thing I can complain about what that Netflix did not work in our room.
- Chris (10/5): A unique property with great staff and superb kitchen - Wonderful pub/hotel with well designed and modern comfortable rooms. Great restaurant and wide selection of wines and beers. Access to the rooms is a steep climb with luggage.. however it’s worth the effort.
- Neil (10/5): From check in to check out . We felt at home - Every aspect
- William (9/5): -
- Lara (10/5): Excellent! - Lovely staff and amazing food and room!
- Eoin O’Shea (7/5): - Tha Bull and LAst is a special place IMO. Great food, access to the heath. But I'm bias - I used to live around the corner. Room was too small - even for one. Lack of wardrobe made an extended stay uncomfortable. Lack of breakfast makes it feel less like a hotel / guesthouse - more like a pub with rooms. Fair enough. It's a very good pub.
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful staff , great kitchen, superb rooms. - Cosy pub and boutique hotel Nothing
- Cordelia (9/5): -
- Orla (8/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Beverley (9/5): Beautiful room in a great part of London - The room was very comfortable with nice finishing touches - water, toothbrush kit, fresh cookies. It was quiet, despite being on a main road and above a pub restaurant
- Nathalie (10/5): Une superbe adresse - Le charme anglais La situation géographique Le rapport qualité prix
- Kath (10/5): - Friendly
- Alex (9/5): A very comfortable inn/hotel in a really nice part of London - Easily accessible from multiple TfL stations (Gospel Oak, Tufnell Park, Kentish Town), with good bus links. Proximity to Hampstead Heath/Parliament Hill is good, and a good bar. The room is comfortable, particularly the bathroom, and I liked the option for room service and the welcoming cookies left in the room. The tea/coffee/minibar facilities were excellent. Overall, a very nice hotel. The check-in was quick and efficient.

- Clara (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): I highly recommend it! - Absolutely gorgeous rooms! The staff could not have been more thoughtful—carrying our bags up and down the stairs for us.
- KATHRYN (10/5): -
- Kath (9/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): Beautiful traditional pub style an accommodation with an excellent restaurant!! - Location & loved the food in the restaurant downstairs! The low ceilings.
- Joanne (9/5): -
- jayne (9/5): Fabulous pub with rooms - Keats was perfect for my needs as a solo traveller. The room was beautifully designed, stylish and clean. It had all I needed for a couple of nights. The bath products are luxurious . There's a well stocked mini bar. Couples may struggle with storage - no wardrobe.
Be aware of steep stairs access. You'll hear the door slamming until around 11pm
- Ian (9/5): - Cozy, quiet and well put together,
Anna is a legend :)
- Laura (10/5): -
- Shelley (10/5): Superb boutique hotel, thoroughly recommended! - I stayed in the Dido room - a beautiful room that was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I was shown to my room where there was a thoughtful welcome tray which was a lovely touch.
Everything in the room worked and the room was spotless. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room with milk in the mini bar fridge. Really good and quiet aircon. Decent shower in the bathroom (no bath), and lovely bathing products provided (with a focus on local sustainable products). TV with Netflix.
I slept well. The bed was kingsize and comfortable with good quality bedding. The room was quiet and there is a blackout blind behind the shutters. Thick carpet up the stairs leading to the room so no noisy footsteps.
I also had dinner at the pub. It is not cheap but the food and cocktail were both very good, worth the money in my opinion. The stay was faultless. The only possible improvement I can think of would be to fit soft draught excluder strips on the fire doors as you go downstairs so that they close quietly, but the doors did not cause a noise while in the room.
- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful secret stay on the edge of the Heath - Beautiful hidden gem, such quirks, individuality and finished to a high standard Nothing! Just the fomo from not having dinner there!
- Emma (9/5): - Wonderful staff, delicious food, lovely decor and amenities, and great location next to the Heath. AC in room hardly worked. While the provided fan helped cool the room, in warmer weather the room may be uncomfortably hot.
- April (8/5): -
- David (9/5): Great place and value for money on the edge of Hampstead - Great location in leafy Hampstead. N/a
- John (10/5): We slept wonderfully. The staff was great - Most comfortable bed ever. Great amenities
- Clements (10/5): Exceptional - Admin.
Lack of even a basic breakfast opportunity
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (9/5): Anniversary Stay - The attention to detail was another level. The team clearly know a thing or two about hospitality. Exquisite bath and products. Slightly disappointed that there was no reference to it being an Anniversary celebration stay (I had told on booking)
Banging my head on the eves when sat up in bed.
Noise from external fans/air-conditioning units during the night. Admittedly, I sleep with the windows open as I don't like air-conditioning.
- Tracy (9/5): Superb - Lovely character rooms. Friendly, helpful staff.
- Will (8/5): Very good -
- Ash (9/5): Great location lovely atmosphere - Everything
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harriet (8/5): Very good -
- Mitchel (10/5): Great nights sleep - The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We ate there in the evening and the food was great. Room very nice ,had everything you needed. Very satisfied Nothing
- Holly (9/5): Superb - The room was beautifully appointed -- the bathroom was quite nice and all the furnishings were luxe. The room was quiet and comfortable.
- Lea (9/5): What a find! - The staff were super friendly and helpful and gave us an upgrade which was such a treat! The little details in the room were so tasteful and it was just truly beautiful - thank you. Lunch (Brown crab linguine & Raddichio salad with burrata and squash) and wine were also fabulous Housekeeping/cleaning could be better… but didn’t impact the stay… I just notice things 😂
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Lindsay (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Very comfortable, trendy stay - Very comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. Great organic toiletries
- Carle (7/5): Supernice hotel, make sure you have some time to just be in your room! - Lovely room w a wonderful bath, great service! Very hard to regulate the heating and just as we fell asleep a VERY loud pump of some sort started to make a banging noice which kept us awake until 3 in the morning.
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (8/5): A wonderful way to start the new year. - The location and the staff were great. Slight draft in the room.
- Jackie (9/5): Superb - Comfy, clean, and stylish. Amazing staff. Shall definitely visit again No negatives. Everything was top notch
- Luca (10/5): Definitely worth a stay. I will be returning - Stylish and comfortable with a personal feel Slight of drains in en-suite
- Louise (9/5): Superb -
- Johannes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Highly recommended - You will not be disappointed - The whole experience was fantastic, from our arrival to departure the staff were super friendly, the room was beautiful with great attention to detail. Very quiet and comfortable at night considering we were in London! We had dinner on the Sunday night and it was very good food
- Zianne (8/5): Generally good but room for improvement - A lovely pub in a convenient location The room at 1st impression was lovely but really too small.. the tea and coffee facilities were in a drawer that you barely had room to open and we weren’t in the smallest room… no breakfast available in the week which we knew about beforehand but still rather odd and the restaurant staff weren’t overly accommodating, 4 of us were staying, we booked a table for 6 people, then asked if my daughter could join us which they agreed to but not overly happy and then we had 2 more want to join us which also seemed to be an inconvenience.. which I could understand if the pub was busy but it wasn’t… but the food was delicious and we did have a lovely time
- Paul (8/5): Perfect location, lovely room, staff friendly and a credit to the hotel - The style of the room the friendliness of staff I didn’t realise it would be in the eves of the hotel so didn’t anticipate the lower ceilings so did manage to bang my head a few times but no biggy
- Vanessa (8/5): Lovely room over lovely pub. - No breakfast provided - which we knew - though think for price it should have been. Local delis and cafes provided exc options. Bus opp provided good route to central London.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Virginia (9/5): Great stay. Happy to recommend - The location was great. Just opposite the Heath. The room was very pretty and comfortable for a night’s stay. Alan who checked us in was lovely
We ate in the pub in the evening and had a great meal in a buzzy atmosphere It was a little hot in the room but too noisy to open the windows. Signposting to leave the hotel via the resident entrance could be more apparent.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Jasmine (10/5): If you like cosy & sheek vibes, this is for you! - This was the perfect stop for us for an overnight in London. The restaurant & bar area was really warm and welcoming as we arrived and the staff were very attentive in giving us a walk around to make sure we knew where everything was. The room itself was clean, comfortable and way more than we were expecting. Every detail has been carefully through about, from the toiletries in the beautiful bathroom to the pieces of art on the walls. We felt a little like we were on a spa stay and wished we’d booked another night.
- Helen (10/5): Quite special - Simply lovely. I only picked it due to proximity to the swimming ponds so arrived with no expectations. I had a warm welcome from Joe and was made to feel very much at home from the outset. The food and service in the bar were superb. Nice touches such as the homemade cookies, fresh milk in the mini bar and premium toiletries left me feeling incredibly spoilt. I was also amazed how quiet it was - it really didn’t feel like London! Looking forward to retuning and staying a bit longer next time. Nothing.
- Chris (8/5): I chose to stay here on its history and the highly rated kitchen. The food offerings i had were excellent. - History and character.
Particularly friendly and helpful team managing all aspects of the property. Breakfast not available
- Karen (9/5): A lovely pub, with great food and staff. - The location. Lovely rooms and food I think the accommodation is looking a bit tired and needed a good spring clean. Small things, but people notice.
- Denise (9/5): Very hospitable , clean and very comfortable - Very clean comfortable and quiet and very friendly staff
- Gregor (9/5): Wonderful Pub & Inn in Kentish Town - Lovely and very friendly hosts, lovely rooms.
The food in the restaurant was really good and the decor of the room was very, very beautiful. Coffemachine in the room, bus stop infront of the building. Space in the room was a little bit limited, but normal for London and also subject to the fact that we had quite some luggage, as we started a two weeks road trip.
- Jennifer (10/5): Clean and stylish Pub - The owners obviously care about The Bull & Last. Workmanship was impeccable. The room and bathroom were very clean, and stylish. AC was very much appreciated. I was in the smallest room - fine for one person, but I'm glad I was alone. I collided with the wall lamps several times a day and I would have found another person in the room to be overwhelming.
Too much thought was given to what is stylish rather than to how a guest actually uses the room. The design of the bathroom was about the illusion of space - huge mirror that extended above both the sink and the toilet, which meant that the heated towel rail had to be on the opposite wall. There space could have been ACTUALLY bigger if the towel rail was above the toilet. I would have appreciated the actual space so I could bend over the sink without colliding with the towel rail. I know the renovations have just been completed and that it's too late to make that change now... but there are little changes that can be made in the room where there was no surface space for my things. If you need to put a plant, and menu, and advertising magazines, and a radio, and tissue box, and water glasses etc in the room - could you please add a shelf or plant hanger so that the bedside table can accommodate a guest's book and or laptop?
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (7/5): I’ve stayed before so I knew what to expect. It was very convenient but breakfast would be good! - Room very comfortable with lovely bath and shower room For £250.00 a night I was very surprised no breakfast was provided - at all! The coffee machine was annoyingly useless.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristina (8/5): Very good -
- Ramsay (10/5): Fabulous trip - Fabulous room with attention to detail and great staff as well as great food! Nothing
- Karen (8/5): Great stay 👌 - Place was done out beautifully lovely little touches from the note ,
toiletries, bed was really comfortable too, staff lovely very helpful as we wanted to go to Camden and they found us a ideal place to park 👍 Stairs are a bit steep but can't be helped I'm just unfit 🤣
- Annmarie (9/5): Loved it! - Lovely place. Great food. Lovely room, everything you could want. Cozy and comfortable. A great stay. And right next to Hampstead Heath! Nothing!
- Barbara (8/5): Very lovely Inn - Very good location, nice staff. Lovely room, everything you need in the room. No designated space to put your bags or clothes, no breakfast during the week days.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wasp (10/5): Exceptional - The room was exceptional, would happily have stayed in the room just had a mini spa!. Gorgeous roll top bath and beautiful en suite shower room. Air con and 2 skylights. Freshly baked cookies on arrival. Coffee pod machine for morning americano. Staff were very attentive and nice bar menu. Location is great, right opposite Hampstead Heath for peaceful scenic walks. 10 min walk to Kentish Town 02 Academy so perfect for gigs or being away from the bustle of Camden Town. Upper landing area was overly hot. There was aircon and 2 skylights so room was well ventilated to compensate.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): Great pub, easy going atmosphere and a comfortable room in good location - Great location on edge of Hampstead Heath. Good pub with excellent food. Staff brilliant.
Comfortable room, quiet and light. Easy access out of hours. Room had no hanging space for clothes
- Amos (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - Clean, room well equiped, staff very friendly and helpful
- Rebecca (8/5): Gorgeous rooms and great location! - Decor and quality of the furnishings The stairs to room . No breakfast facilities
- Ashley (10/5): Perfect stay! A great London experience - Everything is perfect Nothing
- Belinda (10/5): Awesome stay - Friendly and welcoming
- Peter (10/5): Amazing food and beverages, great attention to detail in the rooms, thoroughly designed and executed - Superb attention to detail in the rooms is obvious from the free standing tub to the fixtures. The paint choices are elegant and relaxing. Fresh baked cookies delivered on a tray in the afternoon. And, most importantly, the food. Make sure to go and invite friends or sit solo and enjoy the great love and care they put into their menu, spirits and wine. Start a conversation and you'll quickly realize it's love for these things that makes the place what it is. And a lot of determination of course. If I lived in London this would be a regular spot for me. Checks all the boxes.
- James (10/5): Lovely stay away in a beautiful room - Lovely rooms and the roll top bath was fantastic (we stayed in the Mansfield Room). On arrival we were taken up to the room and shown round along with details of how to get in/out the property when the pub was shut. Freshly made cookies were also provided which was a lovely touch. We thought the whole decor and feel of the property were great, would highly recommend.
- John (8/5): Great location. Perhaps a bit pricey for what you get. - As there was no breakfast availability during our stay we found a place close by. Access to an umbrella would have been welcome as its not an item we would travel with.
- Jay (10/5): A beautifully curated stay in a lovely part of London - A fabulous place within easy walking distance of the O2 Forum. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the room was very quiet and comfortable. Thoughtful little touches, like spare wash kit items, gorgeous luxury soaps and a jug of milk already in the fridge made all the difference after a long journey. There was also plenty of hot water for long soak in the luxurious copper bath tub. Nothing - it was perfect
