- Prakruti (10/5): - This place in Launceston was an absolute gem. The accommodation was completely private, beautifully maintained, and felt calm and exclusive — perfect for a relaxing stay. The space was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to settle in and unwind.
The view is truly stunning — waking up to it and enjoying the peaceful surroundings was one of the highlights of our stay. It’s the kind of place where you genuinely want to slow down and just take it all in.
The location is ideal: quiet and serene, yet close enough to Launceston’s main attractions, cafes, and restaurants. Everything about this stay felt effortless and well put together.
We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a private, scenic, and beautifully presented stay in Launceston. We would happily stay here again.

- Deborah (10/5): A perfect getaway! Loved every minute of our stay! - Harland Rise Chapel is exceptional! The history, the beautifully renovated chapel, the views, the hospitality, the sunsets, the comfort and it is close to everything. It was truely one of the finest accomodation we have been lucky enough to stay in. From the moment you enter the gate it feels special and the generous Breakfast hamper is a warm welcome!
We were also treated to a tour of the historic property by the lovely owners, Claire &
Peter. Inspirational! We hope to return soon! Highly Recommend. Nothing to dislike, it was wonderful
- Armaiti (10/5): Idyllic stay in an old converted chapel - It was a quaint property lovingly refurbished by the owners. Everything was thoughtfully done and it was wonderful to have fresh bread, jam, butter, milk and orange juice thoughtfully left for us by the host. Inspite of a cold snap at the time we were there we were cosy by the wood fire and relaxed in the idyllic surroundings. Meeting Peter and Clare, the lovely hosts, and being shown around the property was an added bonus. Nothing
- Anne (10/5): Stunning historical property exceeds expectations! - This stunning property has been lovingly restored from the shell of a convict built Chapel & is now a beautifully furnished and equipped, comfortable home away from home! It has everything you could need with high quality linen & towels and the home cooked bread, eggs, milk & jam were most appreciated!
Our charming hosts, Peter & Clare, even took us for a tour around the other historical farm buildings on the property, which is high on a hill overlooking a magnificent view of the countryside - simply stunning!
We would highly recommend this property to future guests!
* A grab rail in the shower would be helpful
- Elizabeth (10/5): Beautiful place to stay everything was lovely and our hosts Peter and Claire were wonderful and very helpful in all ways - Extremely clean and comfortable, very peaceful. Nothing
- Caelan (10/5): Amazing - There are too many things to list for us to express how amazing this place is. The location is so close to everything, yet you feel like you're deep in the countryside. The chapel itself has been restored by Peter and Claire, and you can tell how much time and effort they have poured into every little detail. Everything listed was provided, along with some provisions, which made for a nice breakfast. The kitchen and bathrooms were modern, spotless and fitted with everything we needed, the bedrooms were cozy and comfy offering morning views of the hills.
The views from either balcony are stunning, and we couldn't get enough of them. We even stayed in one night, just so we could enjoy the tranquility before we left.
If we ever find ourselves back in Tasmania, we will be returning for another stay without a doubt!
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - The fresh produce provided for our breakfast was delicious.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mahesh (10/5): Exceptional - I loved everything about my stay at the Chapel. It was so comfy inside and had great facilities. I loved going outside on the porch and looking out at that amazing view each afternoon with an unmatched sunset. It was so kind for you to have bread, jam, butter, juice, eggs and milk there for me, it helped me a lot as I am on the road for work.
Thank you for everything I will be back to stay again.
- M (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with fantastic communication from hosts who love sharing the history of the area. - Beautifully decorated inside a historic building with cosy homely extras supplied. Nothing
- Bindib (10/5): Exceptional property where you can enjoy the quiet & charm of country living. - We were delighted to have the opportunity to stay at the Chapel. It has a light, bright, well furnished and comfortable interior. The distant views were better than expected from the photos, we found it such a pleasure to be back in the countryside although only a few minutes from Evandale.
The hosts were generous, interesting and thoughtful. Thankyou once again . . . . . can't wait until we next visit.
- Lt (10/5): Highly recommended, beautiful property! - What a lovely house!!! Wonderful quiet place to stay for a holiday away from the busy city. Magnificent farmland view with starry night and morning bleat. I was amazed by how clean and tidy the house was when I first entered. Nicely decorated interior, very well equipped and cosy where light breakfast was provided. Peter and Claire were great at communication. Staying here is a must to have a car and should not be afraid of insects.
- Susan (10/5): Excellent property and great hosts. Highly recommend! - We loved everything about this property. The location just outside Evandale is peaceful with lovely views. The renovation of the chapel seamlessly combines old and new - the spacious and practical rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated. Lovely comfortable beds and a good kitchen. We appreciated the supplies of milk, bread etc on arrival and we enjoyed being shown around the property by Peter and Claire. We liked everything.
- Ashleigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): We’ll definitely be back! - What a delight this property was! It had history and charm and was beautifully restored by the owners and presented for our comfort. Evandale was very chilly but the fireplace (set ready to light) was a much appreciated bonus, it warmed the entire property.
Our hosts, Peter & Claire had also thoughtfully left us a welcome gift of fresh provisions to enjoy!
- Suzanne (10/5): A wonderful place to stay. Very impressive. - Exquisite property in every way. Beautiful renovation with high quality fittings, linen etc.
Quiet and cosy. Enjoyed the treats left for us too!Hosts Peter and Claire were friendly and great to chat to. They even gave us a look around the nearby barn and stables. This accomodation is a real delight to visit. Highly recommend.
