Guest Reviews

- Sandra (9/5): Nice compact place to stay in central London. - Well equiped kitchen, every thing you need and nice location. Very good that we got a fan.
Good communications. It got a bit hot indoors in the middle of summer.
- Loue (5/5): Basic Property. I expected a lot better though! - The studio is light and bright, was well cleaned and had nice decoration although it is in need of a refresh. It is quiet despite the building works outside due to the secondary glazing which can be slid up or down. Only slightly noisy during the day but not too much.
It is in a great location with Waitrose a 2 minute walk away, plenty of shops and restaurants, 10 min walk to Bayswater underground station and short walk to trendy Notting Hill.
The hosts are friendly and helpful over the booking.com chat and the check in instructions were clear and easy to follow. I appreciated that the advert tells you about the building work outside and the long walk through another building and up 2 sets of stairs in order to get into the property.
The property is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher and oven aswell as the usual microwave and fridge which I think is quite rare.
Kitchen is quite well equipped with utensils but could be better in this regard.
I left this apartment early for personal reasons but asked for a partial refund because of issues stated below but hosts would not offer anything, saying that it was a non-cancellation policy which was true. I felt this was too strict considering the apartments standard and the issues raised as I will explain.
I had two power cuts during my stay. All appliances and internet switched off for 2 hours each time although this could be from an outside source. I had a few issues with this property.
On my arrival the Bathroom Extractor fan was not working which allowed steam into the sleeping area. The host offered to fix this but I wanted to enjoy my holiday without having to wait for someone to repair.
The hosts are usually responsive on the booking app chat but since there is no information pack in the apartment you end up using a lot of time texting them backwards and forwards to ask questions or wait for them to reply. I would have liked to see an information pack in the apartment with all the information I needed to know such as how to deal with rubbish etc.
I tried to call the number on the booking confirmation several times but they donāt answer even during normal working hours. You have to text them to request a call back.
One evening at 9pm I was using the oven and the fire alarm went off. I tried to call them but they didnāt answer. They told me I should text them in an emergency but I didnāt because I needed help urgently and I am slow at texting. I didnāt know how to switch it off. It was a very loud industrial fire alarm. I had to come out of my apartment outside in the courtyard to tell the other residents that it was a false alarm. It was not pleasant. The hosts did not tell me that I had to open the window and turn on the extractor when using the oven. The day after they told me it is not a requirement to open the window but it clearly IS. Three Fire Brigade appeared 2 minutes later with full gear on, running up the stairs knocking on the other apartment doors. I approached them and told them to come to my apartment. They opened the windows and it went off 2 minutes later.
The fixtures and fittings are falling apart. The toilet roll holder, the shower head holder, the brackets for left blind. The shower door not fitted correctly. The carpet cheap and badly stained.
Wrong bags for the rubbish provided, no sink strainer.
Pictures not an accurate reflection of apartment in itās current state.
- Costin (10/5): I DO DEFINITELY RECOMMEND - Cosy and comfy . You have everything you need inside the property. N / A
- Sasithorn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manal (8/5): Iāll come again for sure - Excellent location š The entrance to the room is too complicated.. no elevator
- Romil (7/5): Good -
- Evgenia (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, perfect communication with a host!
- M (4/5): Iām afraid not sold as seen in my experience and I was disappointed - The general location around the area was good for me - Generally felt really run down and unclean - in particular over the carpet, walls and around furniture.
- Part-incorrect check in instructions caused delay entering the property
- Bathroom was poor. Trickle of a shower (no exaggeration) and the holder didnāt stay up therefore was a trickle hand held wash at best
- Missing lampshade which given its one room was imposing to have the bare bulb glaring in prime view
- It was a fair schlep to get up to the property from the outside (in and out of buildings, and lots of stairs - you had to be abled)
- There is a building site right outside the window, though in fairness this was communicated upon booking
- I received a number of messages during my stay from the host - chasing that Iād received non urgent info. I found this too much, especially as travelling for work so not getting back for 2-3 hours didnāt warrant the level of communication.
