• Selina (9/5): A nice place to explore Ballina and surrounds - Lovely place, quiet and in easy walking distance to the bay and dog friendly eateries. Great outlook on the hill. Well equipped kitchen for self-catering. My own lack of research but travelling with a dog means more time at the accommodation so a tv that has access to internet channels i.e. Netflix would have been good. The bed was not as firm as we would like but price overrode any small complaints.

• Andrew (10/5): Stylish, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing stay - Flynn and I stayed in Unit 4. The apartment was decorated with flair. The Smart TV allowed me to log in to Netflix and Kayo for after-hours entertainment. The bed was very comfortable, and the coffee machine was a lovely touch – it really added to the “home away from home” feel, with almost everything you might need provided. The balcony was perfect for Flynn, offering an incredible view. With the curtains open, it was still private and relaxing. There’s not much to not like. There were stairs down to my unit which may be challenging after a night out. Flynn found it difficult climbing, but he is an old age pension Chowboy now.

Would have been nice to know that there were three flights of stairs to be negotiated to access the unit, as my wife is recovering from broken hip. Would not have booked this location if I had known about the stairs to access the unit.
• Verity (10/5): Loved staying here. Everything you need with a great view. - This is a great place to stay. The photos don't show the wonderful views of both the creek and the sea from all the apartments. Katya is a great host, super friendly and helpful. We'll be back! There are stairs to the lower apartments and the stairs to and from the creek are long - so go around the street instead if you have sore knees like me. You really know you've had a work out!
• Murray (10/5): Well situated, well priced. Definitely would stay again. - Resored unit, so it had some charm. Very well equiped & furnished. Bucketing rain & dark when we arrived so was awful getting down the uncovered stairs, however not really a complaint it is what it is.
• Uti (10/5): I’ve stayed in many places in the Ballina area as I visit frequently and Lazy Days on Shaws Bay is the best. - The property was very clean and even though compact spacious enough to feel very comfortable. It was cutely decorated with an old school charm. I loved the fact I could trot down some stairs two doors up that took me down to Shaws Bay. The perfect location to stretch my legs and walk my dog. Truly everything was thought of to make one’s stay perfect. Katya is super friendly, light-hearted and kind.

• Yuet (3/5): Stay away from this property, it's not that close to the off leash dog beach - Dog friendly and well equipped kitchen 1) terrible parking spot. it's only tiny block on the cliff with timber slaps that hold 5 car park at the front, no problem if everyone is driving toyota yaris but the day i went was 1 ram, 3 other 4 wheel drive, my car is a sedan and if i park i can't get my dogs out, as i said, it's a tiny block, i can't back my car up, it is on the main road, i parked down the cliff and try to walk all the way up from the other side of the cliff, it's very exhausting, it's like hiking. I honestly think this is dangerous and illegal to have 5 car park at the front with thin structure to hold it all up, it's over 10 tons of the cars parking there! 2) 36 narrow and steps down then up, 72 steps for return, not suggest for anyone who brings alot of belonging, we had 2 dogs and we had to get up and down each time, very inconvenient.

The unit is in a lovely location just above the bay so swimming is close as are beautiful walks and nearby cafes and restaurants. I loved the outlook with the trees and bay glimpses. • Lesley (9/5): We had a great stay accessing all the lovely Ballina walks that are so close to Katya’s place. - Katya is a caring and considerate host, her property is spotless and well equipped with little touches that make you feel very welcome. The WiFi and TV reception were not very good, but Katya was immediately responsive and I know she has put in place moves to rectify the issue.

The car parking was suitable and the view from the balcony was superb. We only stayed four nights and would have loved to have more time.

• Simone (10/5): 10/10 experience - Stray leaves is a peaceful, clean, comfortable and beautiful little haven. I have left my 4 stay at Stray Leaves feeling well rested and rejuvenated. Katya is a pleasure to communicate with, friendly and returns contact promptly. I highly recommend staying here - 10/10 experience. The steps to get in and out of the property are very steep and a little challenging if you are unfit like me. This would not put me off staying at the property again though as it is such an amazing place to stay and worth tackling the stairs to enjoy the peace and comfort that Stray Leaves offers.

Easy walk to all the local walks and Shaws Bay. Katya was lovely and gave lots of advise of things to see and do. Shame about the trees in front of the balcony that blocked the view as all you could see was trees and nothing of the lake.

No aircon and the property was generally really hot and didn’t cool down easily. The shower doesn’t really run well either. And the stairs are really steep.

Didn’t get to meet the owner in person but she has been lovely to communicate with and is very kindly shipping me my lost property. The shower has one of those rain shower heads that don’t offer much water pressure but some people really like them!

Being an apartment it was good value full of nice touches. Katya was a delightful and super helpful host. Probably could do with a slightly more powerful heater for cooler nights but hard to pick anything else

• Greg (5/5): Ok but a few minor things spoilt it a bit. - Location was good and unit was clean and tidy. Bathroom had issues. Shower head needs replacing and cold water tap was loose. We arrived after a long drive and there was no toilet paper so had to then then drive to the shops. Unit was noisy as we could hear people walking on the floor above. Could find an iron or ironing board.
