Guest Reviews
- Alison (9/5): Comfortably furnished studio in an excellent position close to the beach - Great position with beautiful garden. Very comfortable bed Not a big thing but an extra blanket would have been handy.
- lynda (10/5): - absolutely great value 👏 nothing
- Stuart (7/5): Great location, quiet, peaceful and close to food sources. - Great location, close to the beach, café and pub. Aircon needs replacing or a service, didn't pump out enough cooling air. Lounge pillows are rock hard. Bins were overflowing from previous guests. I was proactive, saw other bins out and googled bin delivery and shazam, bin emptied!
NO IRON OR IRONING BOARD, a much needed commodity whilst living out of a suitcase.
- Lewis (3/5): We booked 4 nights and left after 2, feeling disgusted. - Location The long neglect of the fibro beach schack made the stay unpleasant as we discovered all the damages, dirtiness by living there a day.
- Deanne (8/5): Close to beach, eateries, comfortable shack like accommodation. - Location was perfect, close to beach and eateries. Screen doors in verandah were hard to open and close. Extra lighting outside of a night near paths and front gate would have been good.
- Toni (8/5): Amazing location on the beach. - What an amazing location. Right off the beach and walking distance to everything. Well set up with pots, pans, cutlery etc and a filtered water tap. Bed super comfy. Good little bathroom, great shower. Lovely screened outdoor room with BBQ, fridge, table and chairs. Very much in need of some good old maintenance externally and internally especially at that price point! - rust cobwebs, dirt, debris, broken outdoor furniture -windows, screens, screen doors (very problematic sliding) the bathroom vanity, has paint peeling from the underneath, all window screens are either broken or not working adequately - all need attention. The shower head also drips and needs an update. The driveway is not great - no where to turn requiring a difficult reverse in, or challenging reverse out. Definitely wouldn't suit anything bigger than a small SUV. The barking dogs everytime you go in or out of the property certainly impacts its peace and quiet.

- Larissa (5/5): Nice location in a quiet seaside town - We enjoyed the view and location to the beach. We found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable
The long list of rules were excessive for the condition/quality of the property eg - the BBQ was really quite dirty
The back door didn’t lock at all
- Russell (10/5): Great location and wonderfully quiet. I may have left a vintage Quicksilver Cord Jacket.Pls contact -
- Penny (8/5): - Location, view, cosy gardens kitchen No microwave, pillows not good. , needs some tlc and this would be 100% perfect
- Rod Jackson (10/5): East Coast trip - What else can you say but ...Location location location . How's the serenity? PET friendly 😍🐾 Our dog devilboy! (staffy) really enjoyed his holiday Having to leave

- Ali (7/5): Quiet destination with great garden quick walk to the beach - The location was great. Scamander Hotel easy walk for a pub meal. Easy walk to the beach. Quiet. Beautiful gardens. Great vibe. Really nice to be able to take my dog too. Great water pressure in the shower. Mattress was pretty hard
- Stephanie (10/5): Will definitely love to come back! - Absolutely amazing! So quiet and quaint.
Could stay here forever.
Even a washing machine.!
- sean (8/5): Beach side stay - Bed very comfortable. Shower good pressure and temperature. Lounge comfortable. Sea view great. The sliding door into the veranda where the key was need maintenance. Very difficult to slide.
- Dally (9/5): - Close to the beach Nothing
- Tonia (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (1/5): Great location.Rubbish amenities. We should have been refunded our money - Location. A proper Queen size bed not two singles put together.it was the hardest bed I have slept in paid accomodation.
No gas to have a warm shower.Obviously hadn't been checked..We were moved to another location.
That is just the start.Need I go on.
- Jennifer (8/5): This house was very roomy, clean and comfortable. It was in a lovely position. - The house was roomy and close to the beach. It was within walking distance of a cafe and hotel. Some of the outdoor area needed attention.
- Kerry (8/5): great stay, location perfect for us, sound of waves and private - great location Bed mattress not so comfy. Sliding Door entry on patio needs new rollers
- Gianna (9/5): Superb - We loved the location which was opposite the beach and we could hear the crashing waves. The accommodation was clean and very homely. The amenities were great so we didn't need to go out and buy basic supplies. The host was friendly and truly valued providing the best experience possible. We loved our stay and wish we had stayed longer. Would highly recommend the dunes!
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Enjoyed our time at Dunes - Great location and close to beach and nearby facilities.
- Timothy (9/5): Peaceful and a great base to explore the area - Wonderful quiet accomodation, easy walk to great coffee at cafe behind surf rescue, awesome sunrise views through a beautiful garden, great base to explore Bay of Fires, st Helen’s, St Mary’s, to climb Patrick’s Head, the Blue Tier and even Bicheno. If we are staying back in the area we would book with you again. Thank you.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Felicity (9/5): Superb - The garden was beautiful as was the view from the front porch. It was lovely to sit and watch the birds in the garden. The day before I left there was a beautiful rainbow over the water. The bed was really comfortable and there was generally everything I needed. When I needed assistance with missing supplies, they were brought to me promptly. Property management was very friendly and helpful. Overall the place was very quiet and peaceful and had a lovely feel about it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone for a quiet getaway 😊 There were a couple of things that needed fixing and as I was leaving the handyman came to fix them so I have no doubt those issues will be resolved for future guests.
- Koula (9/5): Great location - Great location Great value for money No complaints
- Bernard (10/5): Exceptional - Location, peacefully and very comfortable.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Sean (10/5): Great beach location and a peaceful sanctuary to come back to after a days touring around the area. - Nice and quiet and hidden away with the beach just across the very quiet road. Its small and cosy and private with an airy covered deck at the front for relaxing and listening to the surf and then great amenities inside with everything you need. I liked the eclectic mix of retro furniture and fixtures whilst still retaining the feel of a seaside shack. A great spot.
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenda (9/5): Superb - Loved the position, very peaceful and good views of the beach. Lovely big verandah to sit and watch the sunrise or have an afternoon drink.
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Location was excellent
- Klaudia (8/5): Beautiful location, spacious cabin! - The cabin was extremely spacious, it is not a studio but rather a 1 bedroom apartment :) it is located right on the beach and has a beautiful view in a quiet area. Close to all there is in Scamander. There is NO WIFI. We have Vodafone and we did not have service, so we weren’t able to do our work from the apartment.
- Emily (9/5): Perfect beach house stay. - Location was fabulous. The place was very clean and felt very homey and comfortable. Perfect little beach house set up and the deck is great with outdoor BBQ. I could have stayed longer! Nothing
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- Warren (9/5): Superb - A really great place. Rustic but real. A place for a great beach holiday. Loved and would definitely come back.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, close to the beach. Clean, tidy and comfortable 😊
