- Rachel (10/5): Stay here if you can!! - Stunning place, so peaceful and lovely house with everything you need. Super close to seal rocks beach which is unbelievable. Host very quick to reply to messages and super helpful. 11/10 stay đ
- Alison (10/5): Charming Cottage - We loved our stay at Mainstay Farmstay Cottage. It was so peaceful and the cottage was well maintained. The cottage had charm and everything we needed to make the stay so enjoyable. The location was ideal, close to Seal Rocks and Smith Lake. We would certainly stay here again.
- Brett (9/5): -
- Anita (8/5): - The property was what I was looking for, a quiet clean little cottage immersed in the nature. It was very organized, quiet, clean and peaceful.
- Eric (10/5): Paradise next to our favourite beach - Everything
- Clay (5/5): - The location was good and no one around Poo all in the toilet of the cabin unfortunately
- Jodi (10/5): - Everything, such a peaceful relaxing beautiful stay , can't fault a single thing! Everything you need , we enjoyed every minute of our stay , even has a cute little gift store with yummy jams and souvenirs, we will definitely be back very soon!
Staff are amazing and friendly
Well worth the stay Teenagers complained ..No out door tub or pool , but there is a outdoor shower to cool off in and water near by đ
- India (1/5): Misleading and overpriced - The kangaroos and 10 min drive to the beach We were extremely underwhelmed and left early after one night (we would have left that night but it wasnât possible to find somewhere at the last moment).
The place didnât look like the images. Itâs just off the main road and to say itâs a farm stay is a stretch. The images are particularly misleading of the interior of the cabins. The decor and furniture were very worn, dated and it felt more like a school camp with a mismatch of furniture. The light bulbs were out in the kitchen.
The place was not clean and was unkempt. When we arrived we were unsure if it had been made for our stay as the outdoor cushions were laying across the decking and someoneâs muddy boots left by the door. Inside the kitchen was very grotty with a dirty oven, floors, bedding and grubby hand marks over the windows. The microwave smelt really bad and the bed linen and pillows smelt damp.
There was nowhere to sit or relax. The cabin we had did have a sofa but it was directly in front of a wall / window that overlooked a water tank. Itâs not really what you expect when you are sold a luxy farm cabin.
Massively overpriced. We had to rebook new accommodation for the following night which cost us more money so overall we would not recommend.
- Kiri (9/5): Gorgeous country stay in a coastal area. Peaceful and spacious. Highly recommend. - Location was perfect - we stayed here for a country experience near the beaches in the Seal Rocks area - it turned out to be close to Seal Rocks, Boomerang, Blueys and even Booti Booti National Park. Was perfect for exploring the area!
- Mike (7/5): -
- Chris (6/5): A lovely area, peaceful and a short drive to great beaches and places to kayak but for the price we paid, I would expect - Very peaceful and relaxing A little dirty and no real place to relax, except outside. I was expecting a lounge area. The communal barbecue was a surprise.
- Catherine (9/5): -
- Sally (9/5): Great cabins - Lovely cabins in farm area close to the beach Would be good to add AC for warm days

- CATHRYN (10/5): - What a beautiful and peaceful place. The owners had thought of everything needed. The beds were super comfy and we lived its rustic charm. Would happily habe stayed longer. Nothing
- Kate (9/5): - Gorgeous cottage on beautiful farmland.
Super close to stunning Seal Rocks.
Generosity of hosts with their farm shack to top up basic supplies.
Lots of books and games.

- Chris (9/5): Great farmstay cottage. Lovely experience. - Great place to stay to get away from it all. Good for groups and holiday makers. Communicative and friendly owners. We stayed in The Bower which was Self contained - with lots of nice touches like games, heaters, full kitchen, firewood, etc. Short drive to Seal Rocks. Quiet.
- Lindsay (10/5): A perfect little house for one or two nights. Cosy & cute with a beautiful outlook. - Super cute and cosy! Lots of thick warm blankets, loved the fire and the decor. Also loved the resident kangaroos!
- Con (7/5): Good - Good location C
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful, cosy, welcoming place to stay. Henke has thought of everything and a lot of love and care has been put into The Mainstay. Would highly recommend :) Nothing! Even the mud was taken care of via a gravel driveway :)
- Wei (9/5): An Easter holiday full of surprises! - Henka and Jimmy were very helpful. I got my 4WD stuck in the mud. Jimmy brought his LandCruiser to rescue me, but it also got stuck. He then brought a super powerful 4WD and basically dragged my car out without me even needing to start it!
- Simone (8/5): Perfect, quiet retreat for the family - Great accommodation. Had everything we needed for a family getaway.
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (7/5): Fantastic evening sitting under the star chatting with family and enjoying a simple dinner. - We love the tranquility of the property. The single beds upstairs were a bit narrow for a big bloke.
- Vinicius (7/5): Good - Good location / very peaceful environment / beautiful night sky The cleaning it was not very well. About the price we paid we were expecting a professional cleaning, I would say that it was an amateur cleaning.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Peaceful Quiet Well maintained Pretty
- Keiper (9/5): Had a fantastic time. Time spent with kids playing board games and cards. - Quiet location. Old Style Farm house. Games Shack. Space. Veranda and seating area outdoor. No TV. Access. Space for Parking. Upstairs was a bit hot even with the windows all open to generate cross ventilation. Used fans but a bit noisy.
- Sharon (10/5): Very nice close to seal rocks - Lovely place, very cosy and comfortable. The night sky was the highlight. Maybe extra lounge as we had 4 people.
- Lauren (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location nice cosy little cabin. Lots of room to walk your dog (on lead).
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siobhan (9/5): Gorgeous property and house for a relaxing beach holiday away from the grind. Loved everything about the main stay. - Beautiful location and great styling. Very homely house. We loved our stay and will be back.
- Ingrid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (9/5): Superb - That is was spread out from other cottages and everything was available and plenty of communication leading up to booking. Beautiful scenery. Would be great accommodation for the older or couple travellers. For the environment the cost per night is probably a bit too much, would happy to pay a little less as there is nothing on the property and have to travel to go someone to keep kid's occupied.
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Mark (10/5): Relaxing vibe - Great setup staying in a your own dwelling. Really relaxing vibe about this place. The utility, games, extra supplies shed is a great touch. The house we stayed in had absolutely everything and more than you need for a short stay, extremely well equipped. The only small negative, being skinny hard uncomfortable mattresses.
- Victoria (7/5): Good -
- Franz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brett (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - quiet surroundings
- Macdonald (10/5): Fantastic stay, definitely be back. - Location, nice little balcony
- May (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Overall great stay, really nice and clean with a perfect location and view! - Everything - a very well thought out and cute cottage - in a great location. We were pleasantly surprised at all the inclusions such as coffee, oil and salt for cooking. Bed was a little firm and air conditioner would be nice.
- Jess (8/5): Very good -
- Amey (9/5): lovely place to get away - location peaceful no toilet or potty upstairs đ€«đŹ
- Natalia (10/5): Cosy and rustic place in the country. - The location, the interior, the loft, the kitchen. N/a
- Wayne (8/5): Very good -
- Holley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenn (9/5): Great place to stay near seal rocks. - Great location, and space for the family. Fireplace was good. Enough room and nice gardens.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamara (10/5): Absolutely delightful and will be back again soon hopefully - Sweet and cosy and well set up. The shower had perfect pressure, beds were comfy, and cabins are thoughtfully and generously stocked with quality teas, coffee, games, etc. This farm stay was absolutely perfect for a getaway with the bestie. A 10 minute drive to the beach and a scenic 30 min drive from Forster shopping centre. It was perfectly placed to feel like we were tucked away in our own little corner but only quick drive to stock up on necessities for a ladies getaway - wine, cheese, cute craft projects and face masks. Struggling to think of anything to be honest!
- Howard (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clair (7/5): Good - Great location
Wonderful fire pit
Very clean
shack full of goodies There was no frying pan anywhere to be found
Just a bit tired and aspects of decor dated
Only dining chairs, outdoor chairs and lounge seating enough for 2 when it sleeps 4
For price linen, bed and towels poor
- Parmeter (8/5): I was very relieved to find the place and felt very welcome and comfortable. Thank you. - I loved the layout of the building. I loved how welcoming they had made it. The information booklet was beautifully presented with very considerate information in it to make the stay enjoyable. It was amazing that the little things like cooking oil, salt and pepper etc.. where there if needed. All fire wood ready to go. So many thoughtful things that made it very welcoming. It was a breath of fresh air. A hose type shower head would be good. Some sort of path from the steps to the car and to the laundry. The ground was very wet and soft. These are minor things though.
- Innes (5/5): Satisfactory - The location and the house was well kitted. It would be good to supply some milk because we got there late and the shops were closed The linen was not clean and notwithstanding the heaters being on we were freezing. The duvet inners should be thickets and there were small blankets only.
- Luke (9/5): Beautiful way to relax, device free and enjoying the beauty of midcoast NSW. - Lovely farm stay with comforts and excellent host. Beautiful surrounds, close to the amazing Seal Rocks and Lighthouse. Only one thing needed is a fan in the bathroom ;)
- Dean (2/5): Dissapionted to be honest with the price we paid . Best part was - We loved the photos on the app. But was a very average stay. Disappointed Upon arriving we got our car stuck as the grounds were wet & muddy lucky we had a 4x4 .
The beds were terribly uncomfortable. For a farm stay we thought it was going to be cosy bjt it was shocking . My wife daughter & myself didnt sleep well at all.
We also found it odd that there no nice wine glasses.
Fireplace was difficult to start .
- Arumugam (9/5): Very great location - We liked the property and location. Check in was a breeze, plenty of cookware in the kitchen, Also a nice fireplace though we did not use it But felt the linen could have been better and the bed and sheets had gathered dust.
- Daisy (10/5): We had a good and relaxing stay at the farmhouse. Many thanks to Henka for accomodating us. - Great propery and Henka is a great host.
- Luke (10/5): We will be back. - Really great spot thank you.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Picturesque rural location, roomy loft cabin, ample supplies of pantry basics made self catering a breeze. Short drive to stunning Seal Rocks. Grabbed supplies in nearby Forster and we were set for a wonderful short break.
- Amanda (10/5): The perfect beach & farm getaway - The property was beautifully maintained and the cabins had lovely personal touches. We loved our peaceful trip!
- Elizabeth (8/5): A good value, well located spot for a family or small group. Lovely to sit outside on the front deck once the kids were - The peaceful location and views. Fire pit / BBQ and fire place. Comfortable beds and outdoor chairs with cushions. Good use of space in the kitchen. Well stocked mini pantry. A great stopping off point. Bring supplies! Fridge a little small. Sofa bed is actually just a bed.
- Yijian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Khaled (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monika (8/5): Very good -
- Joao (10/5): We highly recommend it!!! - Our stay was wonderful!
- Dario (9/5): Cute timber cabins within a lovely valley surrounded by forests and mins. to Seal Rocks beaches - cute timber clad cabins nothing comes to mind
- Kayla (10/5): Once in a lifetime stay - Absolutely amazing farmstay! It was by far our family's favorite accommodation during our trip to Australia. We were blown away by the thought, effort, and love the hosts have put into their houses. Our house was clean and the decorations were spot on. The house was filled with little details like books detailing Australian bird species that we loved looking through together. The kitchen was not only well stocked but a lot of the appliances were high quality. Everything was really clean and comfortable. Their little community area was adorable and stocked with a washer/drier and any extras (salt/pepper, toilet paper, etc.) we may need.
But the BEST part was the kangaroos! They weren't kidding when they said they have a family living on their property. There was one in the yard to greet us as soon as we arrived. In the following days we saw all three at various points. This was the only time we got to see kangaroos in Australia and we were so excited. I wish we could attach the little video we got of them hopping across the lawn. Also, the Milky Way is phenomenal. On a clear night we were astounded by the number of stars. I highly highly recommend this little farmstay to anyone in the Seal Rocks area. You can't beat the location! Nothing!
- Nathan (9/5): Farm stay - The natural environment and location Busy road in close proximity
- Al (10/5): Went there to spend time with my friends and to tour around my sister here in Australia. We had a great time staying at - Exclusive and relaxing Just the internet and signal access
- Lucille (4/5): Disappointing - The two Kangaroos. And it was close to Seal Rocks It wasnât a farm stay. It didnât have locks that worked properly. No air-conditioner. The switch on the fan wasnât there. There were ants every where inside and spiders outside and a dead cockroach in the bathroom. No sugar.it smelt very very musty. No couch to relax on. The kitchen table and chairs were very rickety. Noisy neighbours and lots of road noise as the main road went past about 50 -80 metres away .
- Julie (7/5): Good - Minutes to Seal Rocks
Lots of bird life and kangaroos around the property
Very quiet
Fireplace and free firewood Lots of dead bugs on the sinks, windows and floor
Single beds not very comfy
No couch to relax
Lack of supplies (for example no sponge to clean dishes, no tea)
- Dsm (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, just as advertised, it was cosy, sweet and well set-up. We were a family of four with a small dog, the cottage and surrounding grounds were enjoyed by everyone. This is a great spot to enjoy the simple things in. No TV, great opportunity to make use of board games (a great selection provided in the shed), play cricket, gaze at the stars. The kitchen was set up well enough to be able to make home-cooked meals. The beddings were comfortable and the place was spotless when we arrived. The grounds were lovely and there were various spots to have a picnic with views of the cows, kangaroos and birds. Great base for exploring Seal Rocks, Smiths Lake, Tiona, various beaches, even Forster Tuncurry.
It was a pleasure to interact with the owner- always responsive and provides clear and accurate information.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.
- Tony (10/5): A very peaceful stay situated perfectly between the bush and the beach. - The host Henka was very helpful
The property is situated in a beautiful part of NSW
The cabin was comfortable, clean and well equipped
- Alexandra (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): relaxing , quiet , peaceful just what we needed for a lovely breakaway - loved how quiet it was. Very relaxing and they provide all the little touches to make you feel valued đ there was nothing to NOT like all was beautiful
- Sriram (9/5): Superb - Location, house we stayed Did not have the fire place set the first day..
- Michelle (10/5): Dreamy winter weekend away! Adventuring during the day and snuggling by the fire at night. - Loved the location, the national parks and the beaches and the isolation was exactly what we were after! We even played 9 holes at the Bulahdelah Golf Course. The fire was beautiful, and it was wild to go swimming during the day (and sunbathe!) and then need (and enjoy!) a fire at nighttime! The resident roos were just awesome too. Loved it! Thanks for having us Henka!
- David (8/5): Very good - Good location close to the National Park and very attractive property with excellent facilities Not comfortable to eat or sit
