Guest Reviews
- Anonymous (8/5): Great location, clean and tidy. - Location was amazing and the terrace was very clean, neat and tidy. The lack of heating that the property offered for the bedrooms. We used all 3 rooms but only 1 heater for upstairs and it was extremely cold whilst we were in Sydney. Would have like a welcome book to advise, WIFI code and that type of thing. But was able to contact the owner for this which was helpful for wifi.
- Harding (8/5): Fantastic place for our girls weekend away. Plenty of room for us to have an enjoyable night in. Clean and surprisingly - Location was excellent and terrace size was fantastic for our group. Property has parking at the rear courtyard via a lane but there are large cobblestones where the driveway entrance which would have damaged the underside of our car. Ok if you have an SUV but no good for a Tesla.
Only a sheer curtain on the main bedroom so street lights shine in window all night.
- Paul (7/5): Great location that is well priced - Great location, plenty of room and a place to park off street, kitchen was good and well stocked with the essential gear and a coffee machine and pods Bit dated (but expected this) need to do something with bathroom doors. Also some bath mats for bathrooms would be good.
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby shops/restaurants/transport. It was a quiet and relaxing environment, perfect for unwinding. I would recommend this place to others and consider staying again in the future.
- Jane (6/5): A comfortable stay but could do with a little maintenance. - Great location and generally delivered on what was advertised. To be honest, for the money I expected something a little less tatty. The downstairs bathroom and kitchen cabinetry in particular are in fairly poor condition. It would cost little to replace the bathroom "door" with a proper door. The toilet needs anchoring to the floor. An iron would have been handy. The nights were very mild while we were there and we all found the beds comfortable and the quilts adequate, but there was no extra bedding in case of cold.
- Louise (10/5): Great location, our group really enjoyed their stay. -
- Danielle (8/5): Great place to stay - It was very spacious and clean The heat. But that isn’t something that could be controlled. Fans were supplied
- Olivia (1/5): Raw sewage, scammed by being charged for the accomodation twice with no refund for the other $800, cockroaches, broken b - The location Where to begin. This has been one of the most disappointing experiences ever. I have held off writing a review to allow the property time to remedy the situation but they have not done so. A symptom of big property management companies not doing their job. Do not trust this accomodation provider. We arrived to raw sewage overflowing downstairs in the courtyard, an unusable downstairs bathroom and no e-bikes as advertised. Also cockroach outbreak throughout the kitchen and an unbearable smell of human sewage in the heat of summer due to the sewage leaking from the pipe in the courtyard by the kitchen window , with no attempt from the property to resolve this during our stay. It has taken them 6 months to organise the refund with their finance team of an extra $800 that we were incorrectly charged. Their approach it to send AI automated messages apologising for the inconvenience but not doing anything about it.
- Future (4/5): This property is cheap, and the facilities and quality of the property reflects that; BAD - Location was fantastic for our plans and movements several service and quality issues present; downstairs shower head didn't fit properly so it falls out when showering, downstairs toilet is loose so it moves while you sit on it, loose floor boards at top of stairs, shoddy paint job throughout and the bathroom smells of damp and sewage. The property states there's a garage for parking, but there's just a roller door (that's too skinny to fit a normal car through) at the back of the property that leads in to the back courtyard and incredibly awkward to use
- Deborah (5/5): Pics looks new as the real place was older - It was close to the shopping center There were cockroaches
- Marion (5/5): Mediocre accommodation - Location It was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned properly
- Marion (6/5): 2nd stay the house grew on us, but needs alot of maintenance done. - Location Doors broken, toilet not attached to floor. Shower downstairs inadequate. No toilet paper left on 15/2
- Ling-yun (3/5): There are lots of dust and the equipments are old. No Teppich in the bathroom! The weather is quite hot and there are on - There are lots of dust and the equipments are old.
No Teppich in the bathroom! The weather is quite hot and there are only 4 fans in the house.
Everywhere isn’t very clean and the location actually not that convenient though!
- Nieck (2/5): Don’t go here - It’s location is close to a big shopping centre and it’s easy to get into the city. Checking was easy. The property was very old and honestly in quite an embarrassing state. It’s doesn’t loon very well maintained with paint coming off the walls, cables (including electricity!) hanging at random places and doors not being able to close. The ensuite room even has a massive hole in the door so everyone can look inside. The front room doesn’t have curtains so the neighbours can look in and it’s difficult to sleep with all the light coming in.
There is mould in the bathroom and we ran out of hot water quite quickly which is weird for a house with 3 bedrooms (4 including the sleeping sofa in the living room). The toilet downstairs is not properly attached so be careful that you don’t fall off. There also a couple of dead cockroaches in corners.
Don’t expect to use the backyard. All the seats are dirty, the pillows are broken and the pipes leak so the bathroom water from upstairs flows past.
We didn’t get the 2 e-bikes as mentioned in the title of this page.
Overall a really bad stay, we have mentioned this as well but the office didn’t think it was necessary to come back to us after two weeks. Feel like they don’t take it serious
- Maddie (7/5): Good - Great location! E bikes weren’t at house
- Liu (5/5): Passable - There is no air - conditioner. Although I checked again later and found that air - conditioner was not on the list of facilities, we regarded it as a standard amenity. It was quite hot on the first day we checked in, so we felt rather uncomfortable.
- Michael (4/5): Was ok, a big expensive considering it was very old and tired. - Great location and very accommodating Was very old. Many of the doors wouldn’t close properly, including bathroom and bedroom
- Stephanie (5/5): Great location and comfortable beds, but the place needs serious cleaning and renovations. - The beds were comfortable, the location was excellent, and the host was super attentive and responsive via WhatsApp The place really needs major renovations. It’s super old and it needs a good scrub. The bathroom doors don’t close properly, so there’s no privacy, and the plumbing is a mess, pipes were overflowing into the backyard. On top of that, there were so many cockroaches, which made things even worse.
- Godwin (4/5): Disappointing - Location only Very old building with no proper heating and cooling. Not family friendly. Hard to stay on hot days. Building is not properly maintained as the door of the bathroom and rooms were not functioning well. Though mentioned 2 bathrooms, one of them has a non-functional door. Closer to bus, tram routes, but overall not family friendly due to the age of the building. It is a double storey building, but the staircase is very narrow. All bedrooms situated upstairs. The kitchen has old and rusty cooktop. Would give 4/10 rating.
- Samantha (9/5): Good for the price and convenient location. - Well presented. Dish scourer was smelly - shower / bath and separate shower areas could have been cleaned with mould remover.
- Jess (7/5): Good -
- Jackie (10/5): amazing - outdoor area is fabulous. door to downstairs bathroom does not fully close.
- Emma (7/5): Good location, clean, and reasonably comfortable but a bit dated and some minor repairs were needed - We loved the handy location, having a car park, and the space was big enough and had character. Good security The downstairs bathroom door was broken. There was no doorknob on the master bedroom door. Some expected wear and tear for it's age. It would have been good to have some milk in the fridge for tea and coffee after our long drive.
- Nicole (5/5): Passable - Nothing like the photos.
- Peng (10/5): We enjoyed my time here and would happily return for another stay. - The place had a welcoming vibe that made it easy to feel at home. Check-in process was very convenient and easy. Responsive host. We enjoyed my time here and would happily return for another stay.
- Michelle (4/5): The place was very central but very old - The location It was very old and the stairs were very narrow
- Wen (10/5): Ideal and great stay - Great value for the price! Clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Perfect location, and the host was responsive. Would stay again!
- Ashley (10/5): Good location, communication, value for money - Good location and fair price. Beds are okay. Although small, there was parking available at the property. House is big, spacious rooms. Communication with the house is pretty good too. Easy to collect keys.
- Gayatri (8/5): Very good -
- Jorma (10/5): Place is cozy and clean - Good renting conditions, nice, and affordable accommodation! Place is cozy and clean. Amazing location, very convenient to stay at. Recommended!
- Anne (5/5): Rustic, but great location - Location Broken windows, doors, light fittings, dirty sheets in middle bedroom
- Liva (10/5): Affordable stay and helpful host - Big spaces, comfortable beds, location is great.
- Vi (4/5): Fantastic location. Ok accomodation which is in need of an update - Very good location. So close to Broadway and walking distance to Darling Harbour. The property was not properly cleaned prior to check in. Downstairs bathroom had a large spiderweb and dead cockroach. There was also a distinct bad smell. Upstairs bathroom had mould and something unusual in the soap holder.
The kitchen and rooms were not very well cleaned. The light was not working in the small upstairs room (which was reported to staff). Linen in the main bedroom had holes in it. The kitchen did not feel clean and hence we did not want to eat at the property.
Hot water ran out on both the first and particularly the second night. This really affected our stay as children were staying there.
The property is noted to be suitable for children of all ages. I do not think that this is the case due to the number of stair and how steep some of them are. Also the stairway railings are non existent and a child would easily fall through the wide gaps.
Internet stopped working on second day - reported to staff who were unable to resolve the issue. The internet did start working again later that day
- Martin (10/5): Perfect for our group of 6 - Very good location. The house was clean and tidy and very spacious rooms. Price is reasonable. There was parking as well. Beds were okay. Recommended
- Tighe (8/5): Very good -
- Kazf (9/5): Comfortable house in great location - Great location, good facilities, comfy beds Nothing
- Semhar (10/5): Good stay and value for money - We loved the layout of the house. Very spacious and plenty of rooms. Location is amazing, close to the center. Host is responsive. Very easy check-in experience.
- Tina (5/5): Passable - Location was great
- Dominic (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (2/5): Very disappointed for what we had to pay & payment 6 months in advance. - Location Smelt of mould which was in the kitchen & bathrooms. No fire alarm upstairs. Rodents eating our food. Stove very dirty & plate’s rusty. Sink has no drain grill. Backyard dirty. Back door just let all the leaves in all the time. 1 tea towel supplied for 6 people & 6 days. No bins in backyard or instructions how to remove the rubbish.
- Katelyn (10/5): Excellent house - House is priced appropriately. 3 bedrooms with plenty of space. No issues with Internet too. Clean and tidy. Loved the vibes. Recommended
- Daniel (10/5): hi - The apartment is in a convenient location and very clean & tidy. Perfect for a weekend or short trips. Would definitely be back and recommend it!
- Rachel (6/5): Was just a bed to sleep in. Poor facilities - Good location It was cold and dirty. TV didn’t work properly. No power points. Small bar heater for large townhouse. Ran out of hot water after 3 showers with 5 people needing to shower. Light in one room didn’t work. Place needs a good clean and is old
- Belinda (3/5): Terrible. We ended up finding a motel in the Syd CBD as we could not stay the second night. - The initial photos in the advertisement were great, and the location was close to shops, a little down hill walk from the central station. Arrived at the property around 6.30pm, and upon entry a tap in the kitchen area on the ground floor was stuck and running. Could hear it as soon as you opened the front door. Contacted the property owner via email on booking.com, did not get a reply. Upon further settling into the property, there was a funny smell in the kitchen and bugs flying around, a light fitting over the dining table clearly needed repairing displaying a whole in the ceiling and wonky fitting, there were cables in a corner of the dining room floor, the upstairs room with the balcony was freezing as the balcony door had a huge gap at the bottom and there was only a sheer on the window, no curtain (Neighbours could see in). The beds were comfy and clean but had a thin Duna, no extra blankets, and it was cold during the night. Also, narrow stairs leading up to 2nd floor, to be mindful of with your luggage. Having 4 young kids, it really wasn't sufficient, and we were not happy, vacating the property the next morning, not staying the second night. We contacted the property on several occasions, to express our concerns and to see if they would at least refund the second night - they said no. I then contacted booking.com several times as the property referred me back to them, they tried to help but unfortunately in the end we did not get a refund.
- Jess (5/5): Passable - great location, really convenient for going to the city. Staff were very quick to respond to messages whenever we had issues. The house was messy, lots of dirt on the floor, body hair in the bathtub. The bottom floor bathroom didnt have a working vent and the toilet isn't properly mounted to the floor. The lighting fixture in the dining room is hanging by hopes and a dream since there's a sizeable hole in the ceiling. the entrance to the parking area is nearly impossible to park your car in without scraping the bottom of the car so we had to improvise with loose brings.
- Patrick (10/5): Appropriately priced. The rooms in this place are spacious. Good area too. We liked it! - Appropriately priced. The rooms in this place are spacious. Good area too.
- Manda (1/5): Very disappointed - It's in a good location but difficult to understand the entry instructions. It was very different to the pictures in the listing. The pictures look clean and bright and well maintained.
It was actually very run down and tired. The taps (basin and shower) were running continuously - you couldn't turn off the water, and it was leaking into the bathroom cabinet.
The bathroom door to the bathroom beside the kitchen didn't latch properly and opened randomly.
There was no plug hole cover in the kitchen sink.
A power point in the kitchen was throwing sparks when we tried to use it (maybe there is no safety switch? I am not sure).
The ceiling light in the upstairs bedroom was phasing on and off.
There are some wires sticking out in a few places (I am assuming they are not live?).
It did not feel safe and we decided to leave the same afternoon we arrived.
- Chuen (1/5): Very poor house - Close to the city Very poor driveway to garage, water leakage issue, electrical board is broken and very dangerous
- Arpita (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (7/5): Good - Location was great.
- Temshe (10/5): Exceptional - The interior was so pleasing in person. We really liked the place and we are hopeful to be back. The host was nice too. Good steal for its price.
- Deirdre (6/5): Close to city but some basic maintenance needed. - Convenient to the city, clean. Suitable for a group. No heating downstairs and the shower and tap in the downstairs bathroom do not turn off so a lot of water is being wasted
Also states suitable for up to eight people but only six chairs provided at the table
- Gufinnur (10/5): Exceptional - Can't wait to be back. I like how the apartment is well-maintained.
- Karen (8/5): Great Host very helpful. - Close to white Bay Dropping taps
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional - “We very much liked the condo we rented . It was well appointed except for the kitchen for those who wished to cook. The location was perfect. The office was most accommodating.”
- Jacqueline (2/5): The location was good but I would not recommend this property, it needs a lot of work. - the location was good. There was significant mould on one of bedroom ceilings and one room had no curtains and so light came in all night. We had my elderly mother and children with us and this was a health hazard. There was not enough bedding given it was winter, although the mattresses were comfortable. The water in the bathroom leaked constantly and could not be turned off. The house was generally in bad condition, dirty and this was not reflected in the photos accurately.
- Aarushi (10/5): Exceptional - They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 12Pm. We got to hotel super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there.
- M'liss (4/5): Disappointing - Location was fabulous No upstairs power points worked at all. So no bedrooms had any power at all.
Beds had no top sheet just bottom sheet and a doona, Doona's I felt were not clean.
Carpets had not even been vacuumed.
Water was just running, not just a drip running, out of basin tap. We live in the country where we live on tank water, so this was horrific for us to see.
Rubbish was just scattered everywhere outside the rollerdoor.
Overall felt very unclean.
For the money we paid for one night, it should of been in very good working order and clean and it was not!
- Krit (10/5): A house with courtyard view - Spacious, tranquil, spotless apartment - tremendous location, we walked just about everywhere. Situated on a lovely street, safe and friendly neighbourhood.
Nice to have separate toilet plus full bathroom, and well equipped kitchen. Very comfy beds, lots of space and storage in the place, lovely outlook onto surprisingly quiet courtyard.
Highly recommend for independent stays. all good for us
- Amla (10/5): A Great Place for the Family - The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. I stayed with my family and children in 3 double rooms - queen size beds. The room was extremely spacious by comparison to other hotel. However, there is no information in the room about the availability of spices such as pepper, salt and milk so I don't know what is provided or whether it can be served in the room.
- Ava (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherie (9/5): we took the grandkids and they loved the apartment- up and down the stairs all the time ! - rooms are spacious
good area no plug upstairs for bath
no hair dryer
flickering light in front room
- Gregory (10/5): Would stay here again. PERFECT! - it is the best location you could ask for! It is clean, and the people we have been in contact with have been more than helpful.
- Emmanuel (10/5): To conclude, this is really a great place to be and we hope to be here again ^^ - Location and transport - This property lies right in the centre of Sydney. The staff is really friendly but we did not have a chance to meet face to face. They had thought of absolutely every and any thing you could possibly need or want. The kitchen is small but fully equipped. On the other level, you have the bedroom. All in all, this flat is efficient, welcoming, functional, convenient.
- Joel (9/5): Superb - Location, plenty of room Shower and vanity taps leaking down stairs, upstairs bathroom door coming off its hinges
- Craig (7/5): Property was clean and presentable, would not recommend parking there unless you have a car with high ground clearance. - Location and price Beds weren’t very comfortable, parking in the garage was hard with the kerb and no air conditioning
- Jareth (8/5): Good value - Old building but priced appropriately
- Yīng (10/5): Exceptional - Whilst this is an older style house, with older style fittings, it is scrupulously clean and very welcoming. The road noise was not an issue for us. Older but clean and welcoming
- Timo (10/5): Another excellent stay - This time took the family and combined business and leisure.
The staff and manager were very supportive and always quick to respond with assistance.
The place was well set up.
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - From the start, the service was friendly and made me feel a lot better. The room was above average, with lots of channels and comfortable furniture. The high point was borrowing a phone charger without any questions - it appeared nothing was too much trouble. nothing
- Thuy (10/5): A beautiful quiet stay - Great place to stay over the weekend and recharge yourself. The location of this retreat is pretty amazing too, only short drive to town.
- Onpimon (10/5): Exceptional - Spent one night here while attending a local function. The house was newish and spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
- Luna (10/5): Loved our stay here. - The staff and manager were very supportive and always quick to respond with assistance.
- Melanie (5/5): Good for the price if split between a group, not for frail elderly or toddlers. - Location is good. Love the old feel of the place, it's very quaint. Pub a few doors down has great food. Walking distance to supermarket. I wouldn't stay here if the weather was really warm or if I had toddlers. No air con and it got really warm inside. Each room had a large Kmart fan as substitute. The railing on the top floor has very wide gaps, really unsafe for little ones. Also very steep narrow stairs, expected in old row house. The pub a few doors down plays music till 11pm ish on weekends. You can hear it and the stumbling drunks on their way home.
Taps dowstairs dripped constantly.
- Alison (8/5): Cute Victorian style home in the heart of Sydney, perfect for what we needed. -
- Levi (10/5): Exceptional - Short stay with family was very relaxing. Room was pristine clean, bed was super comfortable. It’s location is very convenient to shops and restaurants. Safe to say we will be back again!
- Victor (10/5): GREAT TIME - We arrived late and have been given easy instructions, via text WhatsApp on how to enter. The room were large and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have somewhere to sit whilst watching the TV.
- Shahram (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheyne (8/5): Very good - The location is very good and communication was pretty good. 3 bedrooms with plenty of space. One bedroom had an ensuite the other two are larger rooms but required to negotiate the narrow stair case to bathroom down stairs. The only minor negative was when I requested what time check in was I wasn't told that I could store my luggage there earlier than the 3pm check in.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed in the house very cosy & private to the neighbor. Simple check in, helpful staff, wifi internet, foxtel & close proximity to the center. Great room to stay for family or business trip. none
- Kyra (10/5): Exceptional - As our friends shared their experiences from this place and it exceeded our expectations! The house is fully equipped with everything you need, the bed is comfortable, clean and the staff support is excellent. Other reviews have confused us but we tried and all good ^^
- Michelle (6/5): House was reasonable close to facilities and transport. - The property was reasonably close to the city. It was close to large shopping centre. Old musty smell. No aircon only fans. Could have provided coffee and milk.
- Emilia (10/5): We will book your all property again !!! - Very pleasant, warm and inviting. We wanted a day without a specific plan, at least nothing beyond a few steps fore; and we found this place peaceful, a welcome diversion. The staff was incredibly helpful.
- Charlotte (10/5): I will definitely be returning !! - Clean well appointed rooms and comfy bed. Thoroughly enjoyed the included the bike accommodation.
- Juan (10/5): Highly recommend - We stayed 1 night and this was ideal for us as its comfy and fully self contained. Flat screen TV allowed us to play game. Ambient noise was non-existent even though we had people on either side.
- Viren (4/5): Great location but cockroach infested - The location was great Cockroachs all around and a few more toiletries, things in the kitchen and extra towels would have been nice.
- Myrandie (7/5): Good - The staff is very helpful. The Internet was not working and the staff came over (late night) and brought another device. The bathroom on the 1st floor does not have a door that can be locked.
- Greta (10/5): Would recommend! - So cute, quiet and clean. This is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy! There was dining space, kitchen areas,...
- Purwa (10/5): THANKS FOR NICE STAY! - Excellent property and very convenient for short stay at Sydney. Property is clean and great amenities. The staff were helpful, they were responded and accommodated for all we needed, this's big plus. Nothing
- Marcus (10/5): Perfect place to relax! - The staff were professional and easy to work with, convenience check-in / check-out. The property was everything we hoped it would be, it clean and cozy, location is a plus. Will be back!
- Rick (7/5): Nice place in good location, needs air conditioning - Location, size, fairly clean. No air conditioning, very hot. Cockroaches, some food products from previous stayers, leaking taps, needs some TLC.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was the nicest staff I have ever talked before. They were always helpful and made us feel welcome. They also were able to recommend places that we needed as well. The property was spacious and clean. None
- Karen (10/5): Awesome place to stay, highly recommend!! - Everything was nice and very beautiful decor. Very convenient check in/ out for foreign tourists. The staff was accommodating to our early check in. Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): Can be recommended. - Everything was perfect. the property decorated with great taste, lots of equipment (large TV, coffee machine,...), EXTREMELY comfortable bed. Thanks again !!!!!!!!!
- Ethan (10/5): We highly recommend it! - Once we checked the review, it quite nervous, but we tried to check it out. Very nice place and perfect welcome, they might fix and had well preparation all the thing for our best stay. Thank you once again.
- Daniils (10/5): Exceptional - Our night at the property was very pleasant. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. Nothing to say!
- Nikki (7/5): A great property for families looking for easy for easy access to the city. - Positives in the accommodation. Back courtyard with breeze. Can fit a car but would need a little ramp installed. Practical layout for families. Overall location was excellent. Positives in the accommodation. Back courtyard with breeze. Can fit a car but would need a little ramp installed. Practical layout for families. Overall location was excellent. Hanging space for clothes and hangers to go on it! Lockbox instructions all easy to use and clear. Pipes out the back gushing with water from upstairs bathroom pipes when being used was our main concern, everything else was just small.
Eg. Lights in main bedroom need replacing.
Downstairs bathroom taps laundry/shower tap drip badly. Could be easily fixed with a couple of washers.
No Ariel connection to tv - no normal tv
Dishwashing liquid for dishes needed in kitchen.
Pegs needed.
Should include details about close shopping precinct in advertisement because this is a huge plus. Eg Coles/ Hoyts and Glebe point road (eating options in walking distance).
- Anonymous (7/5): We enjoyed our stay - Easy access to access to all attraction.
Very tidy good size bedroom up stairs with one bedroom ensuite which was a good size for all the family. Down stairs bathroom/laundry the shower and hand basin all the taps were running so they could not be used as we could not turn them off.
House smelled a bit musty and need to be aired out
- Jordon (5/5): Passable - Location great. Good space and facilities. The upper floor landing had essentially no railing (completely unsuitable for what was described as family friendly accommodation). We had 4 young children with us who could have very easily walked off the landing to very serious injury which made for a very stressful night ensuring no one went wandering during the night.
